“The Hound of Oakenhall” - When a masterless knight takes a contract to kill an invincible beast, he is thrust into a mystery where nothing—even the monster—is what it seems...
Morgan Bane, the heir of Bane’s Academy of akashic magic, has found more love in Tatu’s crime syndicate than his own family. Mostly consisting of an oppressed goblin race, the Syndicate is skeptical of a boy with so much privilege. To prove his loyalty, Morgan must sever the hand of Graft Agoseris, the most bloodthirsty enforcer on the island and, more importantly, the father of his first love. Death in all families is inevitable, and Morgan must make the final choice between them.
"With Stunted Wings", follows a pair of unconventional twins, fairies each born with only one full wing as they navigate a world designed around flight. Blending their elemental powers with potions, resurrection spells, and soul magic, they explore just how far one will go to get what they've always desired.
"Dith the fire witch: A Night Order story" In this preindustrial world, humans have been pushed to the brink of extinction. Only witches and rogues have the skill to take on the demon hordes. Edith, Dith to some, has been blood gifted the rare magic of fire. Whether the hunt leads her into the depths of a drowner lake or skin-wearer infested woods, she'll walk away with demon heads. But the demons are once again rallying armies, and Dith can't take them all on by herself.
With Bone and Iron: The Curse of Blood Magic Volume Two Reviews
-
Another great dark fantasy collection. Witches, wizards, fairies, monsters, and demons all populate the pages of this book. Stories that have depth and great plots will keep you reading for hours. The worlds are all so different and unique. It's a great way to pass hours. Things are not always as they seem, and often darker than they appear on the surface. A few might just stick with you after you close the book.

When I first picked ‘With Bone and Iron’ I expected stories brimming with sulfur and smelling of hellfire. To my surprise, what I found under the beautiful skull-and-shield cover were stories about elves and goblins, and even a piece set in the Wild West. There was only one story about the demons and witches I had expected—but it is the diversity that makes this book so unique, and I must admit that overall I enjoyed the experience. If you look for a meticulously edited collection of diverse and unique stories, ‘With Bone and Iron’ is the right book for you.

'With Bone and Iron' is an excellent dark fantasy anthology and companion book to 'With Fire and Ash'. The only thing these stories had in common were elemental magic, and I loved how diverse and unique each author's characters and world was. It was such a fun read.
As with 'With Fire and Ash', I would definitely recommend this book for dark fantasy/dark fiction fans. -
*I was given an ARC copy in exchange for a fair review*
To start, this is an excellent fantasy anthology - it has a bit of everything, classic fantasy, western tinged, urban... it's all here and executed perfectly. The stories are all longer than ones you'd find in most anthologies, which helps you really immerse yourself in the worlds and characters these authors have created. Each story is as strong as the other, and all are deserving of an overall five star rating for "With Bone and Iron."
Black Lake Tower by Cameron Scott Kirk - Engaging and beautifully written.
Morgan’s Story by Sam Fletcher - A fully realised world like stepping into Steven Erikson's Malazan series but with more immediate characterisation. Loved it.
Dowser in a Dead Town by Jonathan Mast - Loved the concept. Reminded me a little of the Dark Tower by Stephen King, but was still completely its own thing. Would read a full series set in this world.
Fury- A Wilder Light tale by Lauraine S. Blake - A heartfelt and engaging story told with an excellent pace.
With Stunted Wings by McKenzie Richardson - Complex characters are very welcome here in this superb story. Very enjoyable.
The Hound of Oakenhall by Ausin Shirey - Contained a bit of everything. A perfect dark fantasy by an author who clearly knows their fantasy.
Dith the Fire Witch by Rachael Boucker - Wonderful story, wonderfully told with excellent characters. Want more! -
This is a brilliant read.

Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.

Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
