When I charged up those courthouse steps to stop Sera's wedding, I didn't exactly have a plan.
But there's no way I was letting my best friend's little sister marry some no-good tool who doesn't deserve her.
Let's just say things got out of control. Fast.
Now, the wedding is off. And Sera is crushed. And I'm just trying to be a good friend.
"Come stay at my place. Until you're back on your feet."
"Have some tequila. It'll ease the pain."
"And what's a few much-needed orgasms between friends?"
Well, maybe I crossed the line with that last one.
Oh, but it gets worse...
Because we just woke up naked and hungover. And Sera's wearing a big, ugly diamond ring.
On second thought, "oops!" might be an understatement.
I mean--I'm Jason Bellino. Confirmed bachelor. Pro football's ultimate playboy...I don't do relationships.
And she's my complete opposite. A good girl. A rule-follower. The Sweetheart of Sin Valley...She doesn't do no-strings-attached flings.
Talk about 'opposites attract'.
Now, we've got this whole accidental marriage situation going on. Hot damn. I'm completely in over my head.
But married life isn't half-bad, I guess. I could get used to the wall-shaking orgasms, the laughing and bantering together over our breakfast cereal, her cheering me on at my football games.
I should be trying to get rid of her. But more and more, I just want her to stay.
So how do I convince my oopsie-wife to play house with me...forever?
Playing House is a steamy, laugh-out-loud, best friend's sister, accidental marriage small town romance. It is set in small town Iowa and is book one in the Playboys of Sin Valley series.

Honestly?? I wasn't in love with this book. Like it wasn't bad by any means but it was just eh?
I liked the cast of the story, I felt they added a lot without being suffocating in the way that happens when there are spin-offs. And I mean I liked Jace but he really was just bland compared to other book male leads... Sera was just two dimensional to me. She didn't really have personality? Or maybe it was just that she didn't stand out? I don't know but I felt like she could have been anyone?
I will say I am here for the Latina rep, it's hard for me to find stories with leads I can relate, culturally, to. Just too bad that this book was just not it for me. -

Playing House de Cassie-Ann L. Miller Serie The Playboys of Sin Valley libro 1
Argumento:
Quiero decir, soy Jason Bellino.
Soltero confirmado. El playboy número uno del fútbol americano... No hago relaciones.
Nunca he tenido ningún tipo de relación. Pero por ti, aprenderé. Me pondré a trabajar. Haré crédito extra. Me capacitaré.

Jason and Sera are friends who end up married after Sera is left at the alter by someone else. Their story is written in first person from a dual POV.
I really enjoyed Jason and Sera. I loved the steam between them, their friendship, and Jason's willingness to change and settle down with the girl he had loved for a long time while refusing to admit his feelings. I love that their crush on each other was really so much more. There is a lot of heat, and some funny moments along the way. I really liked the way they comfort and are there for each other. This was thoroughly enjoyable book and I look forward to reading of this series and more books by this author who has been on my TBR for a while. -
Meet Jace and Sera. They’ve known each other forever. He is her brother’s best friend. He also has a bit of a thing for her. Too bad she’s about to get married. He supported her with all of the wedding preparation and then on the day of the wedding, decided that he wasn’t going to let her marry a guy he didn’t feel was good enough for her. But somehow, Jace ends up married to Sera instead. The two have to figure out what to do after an unexpected, drunken wedding. Can they make some thing that started out as a mistake turn into something real?
The book was cute for the most part. It was sweet watching these to really start to fall for each other. So when the inevitable conflict/drama rears its ugly head, it kind of ruined the book for me. The end was so contrived and convoluted that it kind of killed the romance. These to get there happily ever after, but I hardly cared when it finally came. But I overall enjoyed this. Just not so much the end. -
4.1 stars
I was !looking for a fun easy read when I discovered this book. Color me surprised when I found this book because it was more than that. I fell in love with the characters and their friends. I found myself smiling as Jace and Sera traversed the line of friends and now married.
There were moments I did get frustrated at their denial of their feelings but it wasn't enough to stop me from liking the book. I hope the secondary characters get books to as this is a great start for future stories. -
This author is now an auto-buy author for me - I laugh and swoon when I read her books! Jace and Sera have been friends since they were kids, but nothing happens until they are forced (well, not forced exactly) to live together after Sera's fiance leaves her. Of course they are MFEO.

DNF. Nothing grabbing enough another this. & honestly I’ve read high school romance better than this. The writing just didn’t connect me to the story. The plot had potential but just didn’t get executed right.

A swoony accidental marriage best friend’s sister story
This is the first book in the Playboys of Sin Valley series. Jace Bellino is a professional football player. Sera Rodriguez is Jace’s best friend’s sister and he has been helping her arrange her wedding to another football player. The day of the wedding Jace realizes he has to stop the wedding but just as he’s about to do so, the groom texts that he’s not coming. Following the jilted bride on the courthouse scene, the bride’s friends, including Jace, take her out to drink away the heartbreak, there follows copious amounts of alcohol, a brothers request to take care of Sera, and a drunken wedding. Jace and Sera both have trust issues and fears - broken families and being jilted will do that. On their path to their HEA, like any accidental marriage trope, Jace and Sera have to figure out how to navigate from the surprise wedding to the true marriage and partnership. The book does a phenomenal job of taking us on the journey of Jace and Sera as they struggle to transition from their fears and insecurities to learn to jump together without a parachute. While Jace and Sera follow the inevitable path to being together, it is painful but also beautiful to watch their growth and missteps. The story has plenty of steamy scenes, sweet moments, angst, stupid choices, simmering and overwhelming feelings, all wrapped up in swoony heart squeezing love. I’ll definitely keep reading this series. -

Overall, I liked this story pretty well, but I did have some trouble with the relationship between Sera and Jason because I just didn't really get on board with Sera making the emotional switch so easily. They only had so long to file for an annulment of their marriage so obviously they were going to fall in love before that deadline. I realize Sera's ex-fiance was a real jerk so obviously it was easier for her to get over him because of those circumstances but there was a good amount of hesitation on her part to actually give this relationship with Jason a shot. Jason, on the other hand, has been in love with Sera for forever and is really grabbing onto the silver lining of the whole situation. He's never been the serious relationship type so this is new territory for him as well and it felt sometimes like he was glossing over Sera's feelings in favor of his own. I think their dynamic would have worked better for me if Sera wasn't engaged and maybe instead it was just a long term relationship. I did like in the later part of the book how they both would hype each other up when they were struggling with something and the relationship finally felt like it was moving past the physical attraction and I could actually see these two getting along emotionally as well. -
After being stood up on her wedding day Sera needs a new place to stay and who happens to have space but her brother's best friend Jason. The same guy who is now her husband. Wait, what? Yep after Sera gets stood up at the court house she goes out with her friends and her and Jason get drunk and wake up married the next morning. Now the two have to figure out if they want to get an annulment or stay married and give this marriage a chance. This was a cute book that while predictable was still enjoyable. I liked how the author introduced the side characters but they didn't take over the book. I also like how Jason helped Sera work on her confidence at work and Sera helped Jason realize he was more than just a football player. Both Sera and Jason had personal things to work through and some curve balls that made them truly wonder if love was worth it. If you are looking for a low angst, brother's best friend, accidental marriage book then I would definitely suggest you giving this author a try.

This was a fun story with likeable characters and it seems like a great start to a new series I could enjoy. Jace and Sera are easy to like and to root for, because he’s sweet but determined to hide his feelings and she’s ready to strangle the guy who left her at the altar but confused by her lust for her friend. These are adorable dilemmas.
There was some will-they/won’t-they but mostly this was about Jace’s determination to make his oopsie-wife into his forever. When Sera’s groom fails to show at their wedding, her friends are there to help her pick up the pieces and forget about him. They have the best intentions but a few too many drinks and it all leads to Sera waking up naked next to her brother’s best friend. Things get more complicated when they realize they actually got married.
The supporting cast was fun so I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. Book 2 will be released in July and I’m interested to see if cranky Liam becomes any more likable in his own story than he was in this one. -
Another fantastic touchdown for the amazing and very talented author Cassie-Ann L Miller!!
It is no secret that I do love a sports romance. There’s just something about them that excites my readers heart. Playing House, has got to be one my favourite sports romance of 2021. Not only is it an incredibly sexy read, it’s also an amazingly sweet places one as well. There was just a bit of sports in this sports romance, which makes it perfect for some readers who don’t do or like sports but will still love this book. I enjoyed the glimpse at the other characters to come. Especially Jace with his brother Declan, team mates and friends, and especially with his grandma. Loved her. Plus sera with her sister and her friends too. Really enjoyed Jace and Sera story. It was an incredibly sexy, sweet and funny ride for their HEA. Can’t to get my hands on the next books that I’ve already pre-ordered them. Another fantastic touchdown for the amazing and very talented author Cassie-Ann L Miller. Happy reading everyone!! -

Playing House is the first book in The Playboys of Sin Valley series. This book is a Rom-Com with a multiple trope of a small town, best friends sister and accidental marriage to a football player all rolled into one well written story. It has interesting, interconnecting characters that you can't help but root for.
Jason Bellino is a Pro Football player, a self confirmed bachelor and he enjoys his playboy life style until he ends up married to his best friends sister, Sera.
Sera Rodriguez is known as the Sweetheart of Sin Valley, Iowa. She is a goody two shoes who likes relationships, a complete opposite of Jason.
When her groom stands her up on their wedding day, Jason comes charging to the rescue. To much alcohol is consumed and they wake up married on the floor of a honeymoon suite. Now, they've got 60 days to decide what to do about an accidental marriage.
But to Jason married life isn't half-bad and he wants to keep her. He needs to convince her that great sex, laughs and witty banter is the start to their HEA. -
Christ on a cracker. Jesus on a jellybean.
This quote describes this whole book. Seriously.
Cassie has come a long way with her writing. I have read just about everything she has wrote and let me tell you, she put her all into this one. Blood, sweat and tears. Ok, I hope it wasn't blood.
I fell in love with Jason Bellino. I knew I would and you know what? DIBS!! I call dibs on Jace. Screw Sera, this is my man now. LOL. Seriously though, I pictured the hunky dude on the cover thru every steamy scene. Those guns! That smile! That twinkle in his eyes. Oh, yes.
Cassie also writes the best side characters and when your done with her book you seriously want the rest of the crew to their own book.
Kudos Mrs. Miller on another outstanding read! -
Playing House is the ultimate brothers best friend romance you could ever want! Its highly entertaining and incredibly enjoyable!
I just loved both Sera and Jace. When Jace goes to intervene at Sera’s wedding, needless to say they dont count on what happens after too much alcohol is consumed!! Dear me, did I laugh! These two have definitely got themselves into a conundrum. But its their ease of friendship that just works and their sizzling chemistry is so off the charts that you will definitely need a cold shower!
Everything about this book just made me smile. I binge read it until I finished and I am ridiculously excited for more of this series to come. Go 1 click this book or you are missing out!
Absolutely loved it! -
Sera and Jace have known each other since forever as Jace is best friends with her brother Wyatt, both Sera and Jace have also been attracted to each other for a long time as well but due to Wyatt lines were never crossed .... until now. Now Jace and Sera are married and decisions need to be made which leads to laughter, self doubts, working out what you really want, having supportive friends and family (I lurve Granny) seeing what a supportive partner looks like and taking a leap of faith not just with love but also for Sera with her job. This was a great read and I can't wait for the next in the series!!

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, sweet, cute, emotional, steamy and packed with feels. Jase and Sera were amazing characters with an impossible to ignore attraction and sizzling chemistry. As for the story, I thought it was a lot of fun but it wasn't all fluff. Their stark differences, the forbidden angle of their relationship and their emotional baggage added a richness to this tale that made it a joy to read. An excellent book and a promising start to this new series that I'm eager to enjoy more of. This is my volitional, candid review.

Without trust there is no LOVE
Playing house was a delightful read sharing the highs and lows of falling in love with your best friend’s little sister. Jace and Sera couldn’t be more opposite but this story reinforces the old adage of opposites attracting. The story takes a while to get going and find a nice groove so I found myself skipping through a lot just after the beginning, it really gets bogged down in his thoughts and indecisiveness but at the end it all comes together so please be patient. -
Cute story.
I enjoyed this book. Sera is left at the alter, but doesn’t know that Jace wanted to break up the wedding. They got drunk and accidentally married. But will they stay married or get an annulment? Will her brother understand? He’s best friend’s with Jace. Loved their happy ever after and I enjoyed the epilogue too. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I recommend this book. -
I love Cassie-Ann L. Miller's small town romances, and now she is starting another series set in a small town, it's perfect. Playing House is book one in The Playboys of Sin Valley series, and I can't wait for more. This book stars Sera and Jason and their opposites attract, accidental marriage, brother's best friend romance. This was such a great read with both steamy and laugh out loud scenes. It was just a perfect combo of everything you could ask for. 5 stars!
