Oh my god that ending though....

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

”Are you ready to play, Love? I’ve been waiting to show you the real me.”
Don’t mind me I’m just going to anxiously bite my nails off till I found out what’s going to happen !!

I mean seriously... I did not see that whole thing with Remi and her mom like the what the HELL.

We all know Rhys is killing him self inside over the whole thing. The whole situation is fucked.
    😭

I need the next book NOW😬😬😬😬😬🤯

Ok, so I have absolutely no idea how to write this review but I needed to do it for my own sanity!
Firstly Amelia is one of my favourite authors and she pushes how I feel way out of the box. Having said that I both love AND hate this book and what's worse is that without a doubt I am going to read the next book in this series because that cliffhanger!!!!!!!
I won't give away any spoilers but this book is dark and hurtful but lovely and powerful which makes no sense but that's how this ones makes me feel. I'm super unhappy with Rhys right now but I know that at some point I will forgive him for all that has gone. Remi, however, while I didn't love her in the beginning I was definitely a fan by the end of all of this and I KNOW that there are going to be times where I am not a fan in the coming book/s but I do know with her strength I will always be a huge fan of her.
Anyway..take a deep breath and if you're sensitive don't like any darkness then this is not the book for you!
This is my honest and unbiased review.

    Wow

This story is jammed pack full. Amelia Hutchins hit gold in my heart with how it turned out, and that made me so giddy. The action and the dance was creative and sucked you in. The ending was my favorite so far. I canr wait to see how she will bring him to his knees. Hope she makes him beg for forgiveness.

Amelia never disappoints. Although for some reason I thought this was a stand alone book, so I didn't anticipate the way it was going to end.

So many interesting twists and turns. I loved Remi's mix in this story and wanted to throttle Rhys more times than I could count in this book. When I didn't want to murder him I totally wanted to jump his incredibly sexy bones. Loved all the side characters. Nyx is hysterical and I loved all the other alphas and Cole. Now I obviously need to wait for the next installment.....

    Fun, feisty, fabulous read

Wow what a fun romp this was. Rhys VanHelsing a alpha succubus demon and Remy Silversmith a whole lot more then you expect. When these two meet fireworks and feuds explode. Strong well written characters, alphas you hate and women you cheer for. Amelia never disappoints. This is part of a series so a mild cliff hanger. Can't wait for more.

Remi is the ULTIMATE BADASS fmc. I fucking love her to death! This was such an emotional roller coaster of a book for me. I cried, I yelled and I laughed my ass off! By far my favorite book of Amelia's!

    2.5- sex, sex, sex stars

I can't go into this lengthy review right now, because I am about to slap someone.

This book made the female MC a complete indecisive/wish-washy idiot who can't think for herself, until the last 20% of the book. By then she is all of a sudden a badass, but the last line of the books makes me think "uh, nope, she is going to fall right back into it and let him treat her like a doormat".

Hey, don't get me wrong. I love the sexy tension and sex thrown in there-- but can we have some story development?? Character growth?? This kind of had an odd pacing with the editing needed here and there which creates some information hiccups when you are reading.

If you like a the whole "damsel in distress" thing for over half of the book with no story development except repetitive sex (until the last 20% of the book) and the male MC also has his head up his a$$ and thinks that one henious past b*tch encounter, entitles him the to be the biggest a$$hole to the main MC...

    Then this is your book.

But this could be my fault? I mean... "Damsel" is literally in the title. I don't know what I was expecting? I have liked some of the author's other books, so maybe this was morbid curiosity?

In the end, I might just be a masochist. I will let you draw your own conclusion (if you read this book). Enjoy~!

Just think Amelia is one of my favorite Author's so leaving this review hurts a little. But when paying 4.99 per book you expect it to be at least good.

Sorry not sure who wrote this but it didn't seem like Amelia's writing. I was highly disappointed and only read a few chapters in the beginning and than went to Chapter 38. At least that Chapter had something going on.

Overall thd main female character was supposedly so strong but was a clutz because of a curse and match that with can't control herself sexually around the men PLEASE!

Then match that with her bff and it just becomes eye rolling.

Amelia should finish her on going book series instead of starting a new one. It seems like her original style is changing and unfortunately if that is what's happening I will stop reading her books.

    Btw the book was returned.

No, no, no I mean really no, that’s cruel, what a ride, and the lies, twist, and the reveals...what the? You can’t end it there, it’s evilly-twisted even for you; I can’t wait to see her fight back, he is in for one rocky-ride, and he will deserve it.

The storyline was perfect, it mixed with so much, anger, passion, a dark version of Romeo and Juliet, both sides hate each other, with an unforgettable past, that it wanted to explode from the seems, and again? What did we except, this is Amelia Hutchins after all...This wasn’t going to be fluffy or sweet like sugar, even if, at one point, I felt like maybe, just maybe, we’d get a little, but ‘NO’ I was just falling for the false sense of security, she is pure-evil.

    And I want more...

    XOX Lottie.

I absolutely love Nyx and her unfiltered mouth.
I didn’t see any of the secrets being revealed coming. I was completely shocked by some of them. I hope Cole finds a special lady.
Rhys is almost on the same lines as Knox with his vengeance. There’s some steamy scenes.
I need the next book out so I can see what will happen with a pregnant Remi! This book also felt almost exactly like the same plot line with some tweaks as The Nine Realms series..... not complaining though

  • Katie Haylett

Well what can I say but Amelia has done it again completely messed with all emotions and am now stuck in a book rut. Amazing writing amazing characters amazing story and I can’t believe I have to wait months for the next book I don’t know how I will cope. Highly recommend that you read this book. 🙌

“𝐈𝐟 𝐈’𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐲, 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧, 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐈’𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫?”

I finished Bulletproof Damsel last night and it was pure gold. A dark, urban, romantasy and book 1 of a duology that ends in a cliffy. This may be my favorite book of Amelia’s so far. Remington Silversmith, our Badass MC witchy, weaponsmaster that is so fiery you just want to be her backup hype-man. Seriously, bawse-status kind of babe. When you get to the page before chapter 33... you will be jumping up and down screaming. All I can say is... she a savage. Rhys Van Helsing, the alpha succubus demon who will seduce you seven ways to Sunday while remaining a perfect gentleman.... until that demon comes out to play. Be my Valentine.

Bulletproof Damsel is about a legendary, age old family feud between the Van Helsings and the Silversmiths and once Remy & Rhys’ lives intersect, Rhys lays claim and Remy is left reeling and both of them can’t keep their hands off one another. If I could make a wish for one book... I’d choose the sequel to this one.

    Rating: ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ /5 - I couldn’t put it down.
Spiceometer: 🔥🔥🔥🔥- my eyeballs were on fire and my cheeks were burning

    Mind-blowingly Amazing!

Amelia, Bulletproof Damsel is proof once again why you’ll forever be a favorite author of mine!! This was an EPIC start to what will surely be a nail-biting series that I’ll gladly devour over and over!

Amelia’s knack for writing delicious alphaholes is unparalleled by any other author I’ve read! She has a way of making me fall for these pricks only to make me hate them again before they’re shattering my heart once again!

Anyway, Bulletproof Damsel was setup beautifully, I love the world building and characters are so clear and perfect! Remington is such a badass but also sweet and down to earth! I love how she never lets Rhys, his brothers or any of the other Alphas walk all over her! She’s so strong and I simply cannot wait to read more about them and the love/hate relationship!

  • Samantha Brewer

    Another winner!

Yet again she has written a book that I cannot manage to put down. Minutes turn to hours, and then I’m finished. Left with this what the f$&k feeling wanting more. If you want PG, go elsewhere. You want plots, twists and turns with steamy dominating characters then this book is for you.

  • ✧ FLINN ✧ (am I back?)

SO DAMN GOOD! Amelia at her finest! It was awesome and addicting! Can’t wait for the next one, my good, how can I move on with my life now?

    3.5 Stars

I liked this book and have a lot of thoughts. While I think the plot is lacking I enjoy the character development. It was hard to put this book down. I find the characters really interesting and like Remi a lot. She's sweet and innocent, but is intelligent and powerful too. She doesn't lie and I love how level headed she is, even though her actions are sometimes frustrating due to how naive she is. She also has a true moral compass.

I like and strongly dislike Rhys - he's being TERRIBLE to Remi - but his past give his actions at least a little clarity. I understand why he's broken, even though I disagree with his actions. I also like that he's an alpha male but not too in your face about it.

    Things I don't love-

I do think the world building is a little off in this one - I'm not fully immersed in their world because the alphas and how the different species are interconnected doesn't make a ton of sense. This could be because I haven't read the proper books? I think I saw this was a re-release - but I couldn't figure out what that exactly meant.

The plot isn't entirely clear? The "main issue" the characters are dealing with isn't particularly clear until well into the book?

The thing that actually is having me round down in the star ratings and made this impossible to rate as 4 stars -

And my last thought - This book seems to have a very similar vibes/characters/issues as Amelia's Legacy of the Nine Realms books. Not sure if this book was written first (still confused about the re-release thing so if you know PLEASE explain in the comments) - but Aria and Knox's relationship and conflict feels almost identical to Rhys and Remi's.

Here are the similarities between Aria/Knox and Rhys/Remi:
    - h's family murdering H's family
    - H only wanting to have sex with h - literally wants nothing else and no emotional attachment due to his past
    - H taking advantage of h's innocence/naivety
    - H's brothers also wanting to have sex with h
    - h being crazy powerful due to an unknown father
    - h with powers related to fire
    - h being created to be H's mate
    - h being created by her father to save their world

I really like the Legacy of the Nine Realms series, but Remi is basically Aria. I do find Knox and Rhys slightly different, but they have a lot of overlapping qualities too. I took an additional 0.5 star away because they are way too similar.

  • Nadia

3.5 gripping story, however some fast forwarding between parts made the pace a little choppy. Fun side characters (Nyx being my fave bff ever) Still enjoyed the book and can not wait for the next one.

    Amazing

As expected of a book by Amelia Hutchins, Bulletproof Damsel is a wild ride of emotions. Cannot wait for the next part.

  • Yale Janguiê

    Read it in E.V.I.E.
I want the next one pls...

I really enjoyed this read, although I enjoy almost all of Amelia's books lol. I kinda liked Remi, ok honestly Remi's wishy-washy behavior kinda irritated me a bit but I feel like I could learn to love her. However, I do not like Nyx at all she's a horrible best friend. I get that she knows all about how to take care of Remi and she's good in that aspect. I also understand that she's a Nymph and therefore sex is important, but she runs her mouth constantly and can't keep a secret and encourages Remi to do ridiculous things for the sake of penis and I just could not stand her. other than that amazing story. I loved the world and the story behind it and I hope we get more.

  • Payne’s Bookworm Reviews (Samantha Payne)

‘Bulletproof Damsel’ is book one in Amelia Hutchins’ Damsel series.

Prewarning; make sure there are no young ears or breakable objects around when reading this book, cause you are most likely to swear and curse or even throw things.

Remington Silversmith has been told her whole life to avoid the Van Helsing’s, they are families enemy. They are the ones that cursed her family that every time they she uses her magic is becomes accident prone and clumsy. Being a member of E.V.I.E where she is the weapons master, she has been able to prevent coming in contact with anyone that can recognise her as a Silversmith. When her mother doesn’t answer her calls she must come back home to find out what’s going on, but a lot of things have change in the 5 years she been gone.

If you are familiar with Ms Hutchins’ writing then you know she loves to write, alpha-hole males, bada** heroines, with twists, turns, suspense, down and gritty, hot and steamy, dark, emotional books. And this is no exception, in her true typical style we get all that and more. Another highly addictive read by Amelia Hutchins. Proving herself once again that she is the Queen of Paranormal.

Remi may be a little naive and young, but when she starts to get a handle on things watch out cause she is going to set the world on fire. Remi had no idea what she was walking into that first night and she has been playing catch up ever since.

Rhys Van Helsing, is a true broken and misunderstood alpha-hole which AH is famous for giving us readers. She knows how to write exceptional males that you love to hate, and Rhys isn’t going to be the exception. A devastating event, a grudge, a promise and punishment, these are probably the best words to describe the events that caused Rhys to be the way he is. He blames himself for the “event” that destroyed his family, his family and him hold a grudge against the Silversmiths for said event, he makes a promise to seek revenge, then punishes himself for guilt over the event.

Can’t wait for book two to be released as that ending was off the charts unexpected and a major cliffhanger.

”Are you ready to play, Love? I’ve been waiting to show you the real me.”

    Wow!

I truly loved this book. Ive read all of Amelia's books & honestly this one is in a close race for my favorite. The story starts out & flows well. Keeps you hooked with some steamy action, perfect twists & a epic stopping point. The kind that leaves you yelling no & looking for the release date of book two. I dont want to give to many details away because really if you like the fantasy style with a fairly stubborn female heroine &a headstrong alpha who have a sense of raw chemistry then you need to read this book. Cause I'm pretty sure you're going to agree & fall in love. Remi while clumsily cursed, young, & nowhere near perfect is still wise in alot of ways. You can tell that she will just continue to grow stronger then ever. I cant wait to see where she goes or does next. Rhys...oh where to start lol. Bad bossy alpha with the ego to match wrapped in a super dreamy package with all the potential of redeeming and evolving beyond his many many years. I cant wait to see how how these two grow. Thank you Amelia for another wonderful story.

I would have devoured this book in one sitting if adulting and real life weren’t such annoying distractions.

First of all, Amelia Hutchins ALWAYS delivers! Out of all (ok ok...most) authors, Amelia is by far my favorite. Not only is she down to earth and genuine as a person (trust me I am part of her Facebook group), she is such a bad ass writer and her storytelling is beyond amazing.

All of her books/series has made me cry, happy, want to kick ass, want to have sex, pull my hair out in frustration and rip my husband’s clothes off and have my way with him. Not in that order.

This book is such a great read and I highly recommend it. A part of me wishes that I had held off reading it until the second book was released, but I couldn’t help myself and now I am suffering for it. Oh well. Totally worth it. Just gonna be a nag on the fb group and ask until Amelia releases it lol. Kidding so not kidding.

Trust me. You want to read this book and any book from Amelia.

    Happy reading!

  • Diane Lynn

This was a train wreck. I kept hoping it would improve. It reminded me of the Anita Blake series, which had so much potential but was ruined by the authors need to have Anita have sex with everyone and anyone. Seriously, we get that her best friend is a nymph and all the Van Helsings are incubus. But does everyone have to share sexual partners, and talk about it incessantly? Boring. Also, who is sleeping with who’s mother, and brother, etc. I was disgusted after 40% in but hoped it would end well. I’m not a prude and enjoy sex between the main couple, but this was group orgy through the entire book.
