This is the first book by Serena I have read. Russ and his family work a ranch is Montana. It has been in their family for years. Wolves are out in this world. Carrie is the daughter of their neighboring ranch. Their first meeting isn’t the most pleasant one. Carrie managed to sneak into town but was caught by her father. Russ witnesses the whole thing and give her a ride home. There is something about her that draws Russ in. He can’t stand for her to be hurt. It doesn’t take him long to figure out that she is his mate. But things aren’t that simple. Russ must figure out a way to claim his mate and save his family’s ranch. Carrie’s father will go after them all if Russ doesn’t figure something out. Carrie’s dad has his own secrets and they involve her even if she doesn’t know it. This book was a fun read. I love Russ and his family. They are there for him right away and don’t hesitate to step up. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. Great job Serena.

3.5 ⭐️
Russ is a rancher on a pretty decent ranch, his family have owned it for years. He can’t see himself wanting to go anywhere else, he loves here.....
Carrie is just a piece of meat! Well that’s how it feels, her father just looks at her with distain, her sister looks at her with indifference and the staff that work at her home look at her with pity!
Escape proves useless and painful! All she wants is to escape.....
This is the start of a new series for this author. She’s become a staple diet of my shifter addiction.
I’ve come to love her style of writing, her damsels in distress and strong but gentle alphas.
Carrie is a victim of abuse, so it’s a trigger some people need to be aware of. Instead of being a loving father, Thomas Smithfield has nothing but contempt for her! And so an arranged marriage is in order! But Carrie doesn’t want that, she needs to escape and find a happy ending.
Russ has several brothers and a twin, his father is a good man, and that’s where his sense of justice comes from.
From the first meeting Russ was aware of Carrie, his body comes alive when she’s near, but being the daughter of his fathers enemy isn’t really a good choice, but the heart wants what it wants. And seeing Carrie being slapped by her father brings his protective side out!
And the only way to protect her? Is to offer marriage! But is that the only reason? And can he get Carrie to accept his proposal?
We also get to see a few problems in the family, the older brother Zac isn’t happy. His baby brother Mike is a loose cannon! His twin Alex seems the only really happy one in the family (but we know that showing a happy face doesn’t necessarily mean a happy heart!)
We also find out why Carrie’s father hates the Monterrey ranch and all those who live there.
It’s a little darker than her usual work, but it’s good. If you keep to the same outline it’s going to get stale and boring, and this authors books are never boring. It’s a slow burn romance, but with a strong story its nice that the passion isn’t the only thing the author is interested in writing about.
So...... can Carrie and Russ have that happy ending? Or will the hate Thomas has for Douglas (Russ’s father) and his family spill over and cause nothing but heartache.
I can’t wait to read the next book. -

Rancher Wolf’s Next Door Mate begins the Rancher Wolves series with an intensely gripping romance between Russ and Carrie. One wolf shifter, one human – a human who is being abused by her father, a man who has an intense hatred for Russ’s family and who plans to basically sell Carrie to the highest bidder in his need for dominance, position, and very high debts.
While Russ has always been aware of Carrie, of a feeling of protectiveness about her, he hasn’t acted on those feelings knowing the history of the hateful feud between their fathers. Yet, when he notices a woman being hit in an alley Russ comes to Carrie’s aid (although because he knows how her father would react to see Russ come to her aid, it’s after her father has left her there with instructions to find her own way home).
Carrie almost made it to the bus station… almost. Now, she has new bruises, must willingly return to her home which is more like a prison, and regroup to escape another day. The last thing she expected was help from their neighbor, a man whose family her father loathes and would do anything to destroy.
The escape of one wily horse from Russ’s ranch, and the freedom of taking her own horse out to ride their property as her only escape will bring Carrie face to face with one dangerous horse… and the man who holds her future in his capable hands.
Rancher Wolf’s Next Door Mate is full of the sizzling chemistry between Carrie and Russ, with danger around almost every corner, a villain you’ll loathe whenever he shows up on-page, some laughter, some tensions, a few surprises, and a really good beginning to the Rancher Wolves series.
We meet some of Russ’s brothers, and his father as we learn just what began this feud. Carrie’s inner strength makes her a heroine to root for, Russ may come to realize that this woman is his mate a bit late but his instinctive move to protect her from the beginning shows his own strengths, and yes, stubbornness as well. I liked them individually and definitely as a couple. I am now officially hooked on finding out what happens next.

Serena Meadows has written a 5-star book. Carrie is trying to get away from her father and she gets a ride into town where she wants to buy a bus ticket, but before she can, her father catches her and takes her to an alley where he hits her and knocks her down. Russ is getting ready to leave town and he hears a scream and sees Carrie's father hit her. Carrie's father hates Russ's family and will do anything to destroy them. Russ goes up to Carrie and offers to he;p her. She tells him that she can't get him involved because her father would hurt him. He offers her a ride home. When she gets home, her father is upset that she got a ride with Russ. Carrie and Russ meet again when one of his horses charges her and she is thrown from her horse. She hurts her ankle. Her horse runs away with the one that charged her and Russ offers to look for them both. When it starts to rain, Russ finds them a place to get out of the rain. Russ is a wolf shifter and he thinks that Carrie is his mate, but is not sure. When he knows that she is, he comes up with a plan to get her away from her father. The plan will take the whole town and some digging on Russ's family to get things on Carrie's father. They find out that he needs money and owes a lot of people in town. Carrie finds out that her father has arranged a marriage with a crime boss and his son. Things do not go the way that Carrie's father wants. Something happens and all of Russ's family has gone to take care of it except his youngest brother who was left to watch over Carrie. Carrie is taken by her father when her step-sister comes and asks for help after he beat her. Carrie tells her father that he will not get away with what he is doing, that Russ will come for her.
Can Russ get to Carrie before anything happens?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Carrie is the daughter of a very ruthless man that has been after Russ's family for years. Russ went to town to pick up some supplies that are needed for the ranch. When he is about to head back home he hears something from the alleyway. When he gets over to the alley he sees Carrie struck by a big man and knocked to the ground. When he hears it is her father that did this Russ is not happy. Something in him wants to protect Carrie but he does not realize that she is his mate. Carrie was told to find her own way back home. She was trying to run away but sadly she was caught. Russ offers her a ride home and she accepts. When she gets home Carrie was beaten again for accepting the ride from Russ. She is confined to the house for days after this. When she finally gets out of the house she goes for a horse ride. While on the ride she runs into Russ again. She is thrown from her horse and has messed up her ankle while her horse ran off. Russ helps Carrie on to his horse to go find hers. She cant ride very well due to her ankle. The weather turns bad and they are forced to take shelter. Carrie's father has plans for her life and she is not happy about them. Does Carrie confide in Russ or does she go back home and do as she is told? Will Russ let her go or will his wolf have him take her?

This is the story of Russ and Carrie. Russ is a wolf shifter and one of 6 brothers. Carrie is the neighbor’s daughter who wasn’t seen very often in town. Carrie comes from an abusive household and tries to runaway. Russ see’s Carrie being abused in the alleyway and once he see’s who is doing the abusing, he has to hold off because her father hates his family and is a real jerk to deal with. Once her father walks away, Russ helps Carrie get back home. Russ feels something when he is around Carrie – only he isn’t sure what it is as he has never felt this way before. Carrie is afraid of Russ and his family getting hurt by her father for them helping her. Russ and Carrie end up spending time together and the bind between them grows stronger. Russ knows that he is meant to be Carrie’s mate.
This is a cute story and the story was well written. The characters are relatable, and you can’t help but be drawn into the story. You find yourself rooting for Russ and Carrie and you find yourself loathing Carrie’s father. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series and look forward to more books in this series.

Sometimes, you just need a mindless read to turn your brain off. Something fun and not too series, but with just a touch of danger so you don’t get bored. Enter Rancher Wolves by Serena Meadows!

Rancher Wolf’s Forbidden Mate
Bad Boy Rancher Wolf’s Secret Mate
Rancher Wolf’s Doctor Mate
Rancher Wolf’s Runaway Bride
Rancher Wolves is the story of a family of wolf shifters living in the mountain wilderness. Each book focuses on one of the brothers, as they all fall one-by-one. It’s a family full of twins, so by the last book, there are dozens of kids running around!
As is pretty typical with Paranormal Romance, they meet their fated mate and (almost) instantly know they’ll be together for ever. There’s not much sex other than their initial magical mate bonding, so those that like clean romance can easily read these despite the naked man chest covers.
But let’s not be bored! Each couple comes up against their own struggles: an abusive father, a crazy ex, a criminal investigation, etc. I was able to finish each of these in less than a day, but I was thoroughly entertained the whole time. You should check them out if you like PNR at all. -
Russ is a rancher on his family ranch and he sees Carrie being abused by her father in town one day. He steps in to offer her help but she's too afraid to leave her father and just takes a ride home. Carrie goes for a ride and encounters a wild horse that causes her horse to throw her. Not far behind the horse she sees Russ again. When a sudden rain storm hits they take shelter together and Russ convinces Carrie that he can protect her from her father. The next day when his brother shows up they have already decided they wanted to try and be together. Will they be able to deal with her father? Will they finally get their happy ending?
This is an amazing story that'll have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Who is Russ? What is he doing and what does he do for a living? Who is Carrie? What is she running from and why? What happens after going to the diner and heading to the bus station? What do we learn about Carrie's father? What happens when Russ is out looking for Danger? What does Russ realize about Carrie? Why is she so worried? The old adage about teaching a man to fish is alive and front and center in this story, except it is about teaching a woman to protect herself! Wow, that was so hot, I gave a shout out! I am hoping to read more about this family. I want to see what happens with Marissa! Worth reading. Great start to a series!

Russ and his family are ranchers, hated by the neighbor who lives next to them. The man is abusive to his daughter, Carrie. Russ, a wolf shifter, has tried to help her but she is afraid to draw him into her drama since her father would try to hurt him as well.
But Carrie is Russ’ mate and he has to get her out of the danger she is living in, especially when her father tries to marry her off through an arrangement with a crime boss and his son. Is there any way to rescue her from this life? Will Russ make his move to claim his mate?
Shifter stories are the best, so grab your copy and see what happens to Carrie and Russ as they tangle with Carrie’s cruel father. Can there be a HEA for them, despite these difficulties? -
Wolf Russ Monterrey’s feeling restless when he volunteered to pick up supplies in town when he sees his neighbor, Thomas Smithfield, beating his daughter, Carrie, in an alley in town. All of Russ’ protective instincts surge to the forefront. As much Carrie Smithfield’s father hates Carrie, he hates shifters and therefore, the Monterrey’s more.
When Russ goes chasing a runaway horse on their land, the horse gets to Carrie and her gentle horse before he does. Carrie’s thrown with a twisted ankle and the horses run off into the woods. Russ cares for Carrie then they look for the horses, and get caught in an overnight thunderstorm, her strict father comes to the Monterrey’s looking for Carrie. But it’s too late, Russ has solved her problem and got what he wanted.

They might be neighbors for years but Carrie has been away for years in a private boarding school prison since her mother was murder. When she comes back home it wasn’t the great wonderful thing it was the exact opposite. TRIGGER Carrie his beaten by her own father.
Russ felt something stir deep inside when he first lays his eyes on Carrie, and that something is stronger when he touches her in gentleness after her beat down from her father.
What’s these two will go through to save Carrie from an future on the auction block and what Russ and his family deal with to keep their new member safe and their town/friends safe will keep you Turing the pages to see what happens next. -
This was a great read that I struggled to put down. I just wanted to keep reading it. The plot was great with twists and turns, keeping me guessing as to what could happen next. The characters were great and the dual point of view made it easier to get to know the characters. I enjoyed the shifter side of things and found it to be different from the usual norm of packs and alphas.
I give this a five out of five stars. I enjoyed the characters and all the twists in the plot. I look forward to the sequel to this.

This was a sweet read. Carrie has been home from schooling and her father has been abusing her. When she try's to leave, her father catches her and Russ is there to help. What he didn't expect was her to belong to his family's enemy. What will he do? He already feels a bond to her? Will she accept his help or go back to her father? Will Carrie ever get away from her father? What will he do when he finds out that his enemy has helped her home?

It's a nice book. I like how Serena took and discussed the effects of child abuse and neglect on a person. Although it's only one possible outcome, it was nice to be able to read about the heroine continuing with her journey and becoming a strong woman despite her upbringing. Plus finding the love of a good man was nice to read about to.
