👹🫃🏻🩸Hello everyone! I hope all is going well! When I came across this dark~filthy~lovely book on Smashwords, {via Wolf’s website:
https://adarawolf.com/book/hunger-and... }, I was amped to read it! Dark, errotic horror as well? Major yes! I won’t go into each story since they are short and would give too much away if I said anything. I will have them rated out of 5 stars based on how I felt for each story. Including images to correspond with each story as well. I will say overall though, I had a wonderful time reading this raunchy~horror erotica! Wished it was longer with how great the stories were! As always, read the triggers before each one since they vary. They are very harsh triggers at that due to this being horror erotica!🩸🫃🏻👹

This is an anthology of short stories I really recommend for fans of erotic horror (or for people who want to try it out, like me!).
One of the short stories could be qualified as a romance with an HEA: it’s about a shipwrecked fisherman and a monstrous merman and is pretty sweet, and reads almost like a fairytale (I loved it!).
The others stories are all, it turns out, legitimately horror stories, with no HEA. They really showcase Adara Wolf’s excellent writing abilities, and are equal parts intriguing and creepy. All of them has a paranormal twist. The hypnotized puppy play at the end was a favorite! You can read a little description of the short stories on Adara Wolf's website, in the "Patreon Index" section, but here I copied/pasted the content notes for easy access, as it serves as both a trope list and a CW list:
Hunger: Human/incubus, noncon, bondage, piercings, orgasm denial
Amulet of Binding: Human/demon, mild mind control, objectification, bondage, humiliation, public sex (sort of), noncon
For Your Own Good: alpha/omega dynamics, threesome, noncon, breeding kink, bondage
Not Worth Fighting For: Human/alien, oviposition, enemas, humiliation, med kink, dehumanization
Party Favor: aliens/human, noncon, public use, humiliation, forced arousal, bondage, sensory deprivation, xeno, slavery
Read the Fine Print: Noncon, mind control/hypnosis, pet play, humiliation, some medical kink, orgasm control -
This was a wonderful collection of erotic horror! Very enjoyable, and great creeping horror feeling. Only the first story had a HEA, but I wasn't after those anyway so it was just a nice little surprise.
It's hard to pick a favorite out of these, they're all different and all so good. I think I might have liked the Indiana Jones one the most though, it had an extra layer of humor to it. -
The first story was awesome. Seriously, Mermen falling in love with a stranded sailor. A side character who gets his (gruesome) comeuppance during a rescue and a HEA between monsters and men. Really good short story.
The other stories were very entertaining, I would probably describe them more as 'scenes' though than stories. Very short without much character or story progression. That being said all of them are very well written and deliciously fucked up, horror porn is probably apt. -
I should've stayed away when I read horror, but here we are...
This is a collection of 8 short stories perfect for Halloween. I read this for the Weekendween: The Monster Mash readathon hosted by gabbyreads on Youtube. Met these prompts:
-read a book with a monster in it, or a monster on the cover
-read a book in the dark or at night
Song of Stars and Sea:
A short story about a human and a merman. Overall pretty sweet though it has some disturbing moments.
3/5
Language of Stars and Sea:
Sequel to "Song of Stars and Sea," has a nice HFN ending.
3/5
Hunger:
A story about a trapped incubus. This was too gruesome for me.
1/5
The Amulet of Binding:
A tomb raider gets caught by a demon. This was fun & entertaining.
3/5
For Your Own Good:
This says non-con but it's rapefic. Not for me.
1/5
Not Worth Fighting For :
More rapefic, not for me.
1/5
Party Favor:
Not bad, but the ending disappointed me, I hoped for a HFN.
2/5
Read the fine print:
My favourite story in the collection. This is well done non-con.
4/5 -
Following the warning put aside my expectations, was open to completely new and unknown - and it paid off. Some of it took a bit to get into, but the little summaries before each short story were pretty darn helpful. It was a good journey into unknown territories that were captivating and interesting, and in parts invite you to follow a trope or two further to see what's there.
Still heed the warnings! -

The monster lurking in the deep. Demons who consider humans a delicious meal. Aliens with no respect for human boundaries. Humans and their extreme selfishness. These stories explore the darkest side of sexuality.

His Hunger and Other Tales of Erotic Horror is a anthology of Adara Wolf’s short story collection. First a warning: this book is NOT for everyone. Adara Wolf’s writing focuses on the darker side of romance and often crosses over into the grittier side of erotica. These stories are the definition of dark romance and erotica—Adara Wolf is not kidding when she used the phrase “erotic horror.” If these genres are not your cup of tea then make sure to pass on this book and move on—this book is not for you.
I LOVED this collection of stories. Adara Wolf is a talented writer who has wonderful prose that does not shy from the darker side of humanity (and not-so-human creatures). Reading these stories felt like indulging in rich, dark chocolate that has cayenne added to it—delicious and addictive with a spicy heat. The stories range in different levels of darkness, kink, BDSM, with different paranormal/fantas/sci-fi elements.
The stories included in this anthology are:
1) Song of Stars and Sea
2) Language of Stars and Sea
3) Hunger
4) The Amulet of Binding
5) For Your Own Good
6) Not Worth Fighting For
7) Party Favor
8) Read the Fine Print
The “Song of Stars and Sea” and the “Language of Stars and Sea” are short story duet that revolves around a romance between a shipwrecked sailor and his merman savior. The level of worldbuilding that Adara Wolf incorporates into these two short stories is incredible and I would love to see a novel or novella featuring these characters or characters set in this world.
The next two stories really brought in more of the erotic horror side of the anthology. “Hunger” is about an incubus and the witch who traps him, and “The Amulet of Binding” is about an archeologist who ends up over his head when he enters the wrong tomb.
“For Your Own Good” is the only omegaverse story in the anthology, but it is done really, really well. It has an alpha couple who are trying to start a family with their omega mate. There was a lot of dark kink elements in this story with a threesome. I would love to see more stories set in this universe.
The next three stories are set in outer space with aliens. “Not Worth Fighting For” has mpreg and ovipositon while “Party Favor” is about all about alien sex with aliens. “Read the Fine Print” is about a human who takes a job on a spaceship—unfortunately for the human, he doesn’t quite understand what he’s getting into. All of these stories are super kinky and definitely on the darker side.
Overall, I enjoyed these stories and found this anthology to be extremely entertaining and just the right fix for all my dark erotica needs. -

Read the Fine Print — 5 stars
Reminds me of “Under His Heel” in tone/sexual content.
Dave needed a ride home and he signed a contract to be a “companion” on a space ship going his way. Unfortunately, much was lost in translation. He actually agreed to pet play & sexually satisfying his owner, enforced by hypnosis. Said hypnosis not only encouraged pet like behaviors and induced sexual interests, but regressed Dave mentally into Spot.
Contains: mm sex, dubcon, noncon, pet play, orgasm control, hypnosis

Hunger — 4 stars
One of those shorts that end just when it’s getting interesting. A witch binds an incubus so he can’t feed on anyone but the witch. And the witch wants the incubus to pay a heavy price for the smallest taste.

Party Favor — 4 stars
Lizard like aliens use a human slave as a party favor. A free human looks on, eventually taking his own turn. The slave thinks he may have a savior, but he only has a new master.

This was a great collection of short horror erotica stories. It was exactly what I wanted - short stories that cause a lot of Feelings and leave me wondering and a bit shooketh. Very well written.
The first story in the anthology was about a merman and a fisherman, and was surprisingly sweet. No noncon. It read like an old school fairy tale, complete with the villain getting their comeuppance and a lovely HEA.
Overall would recommend if the tropes and subgenre are your thing! -
A new author for me so reading short stories is a great way to see if they are a good one...These are some great short reads...I loved all of them....Some of them would make great longer books....A great set x

Each story makes me want more! My favorite was Read the Fine Print. :)
