A Banging New Year (Hot Holidays Book 2) Reviews

I really liked where this book was starting to go. The sassy, snarky banter between Adrian and Ellie kept me laughing, but Ellie’s roller-coaster of emotions was sometimes tough to get through. I really liked Adrian. He’s still an arrogant alpha-hole yet I found it much easier to sympathise with him than Ellie. I didn’t enjoy that she spent this entire book punishing him for the bad behavior of her exes. He makes enough of his own mistakes that he doesn’t need to pay for theirs too. I’m interested to see how this turns out, because I’m not sure that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for them right now.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout as part of the box set.

    Push-Pull That Works

4.5 stars - Oh, these two. LOL! I frequently find myself chuckling at their antics! The constant push-pull, love-hate thing they have going is perfect for them and their budding relationship. Yes, they both have issues to work passed and it occasionally gets painful (and not in a fun way!) but they are fun to watch. I'm looking forward to reading the third and final book in this offshoot series of La Petite Mort Club next week (maybe sooner). I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is part 2 of a part 3 story. So once again, it ends on a cliffhanger. It is a little longer than part one and continues with Adrian trying to convince Ellie all alpha men are not the same. Since her Ex won't move out of their joint apartment, she moves in temporarily with Adrian. As friends, no sex involved. There is some humor, but the angst of Adrian chasing and Ellie running gets a bit old. I liked Adrian, but I'm not sure Ellie was worth all the trouble.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Very disappointing

If I didn’t know better, I’d think that this was ghost written. Not NEARLY up to snuff as other Ellis O. Day stories. Sorry that this is linked to the La Petite Mort Club series. I fell for buying the second book but even at only $2.99, I’m not going to fall for it a second time. It was bad enough that Maggie was such an insipid fool, Ellie is ten times worse. Why any man would be interested in her is beyond me.
No, don’t bother. It doesn’t get any better.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and Ellie's snarky humor and Adrian's ability to fire right back at her while still being respectful and good natured. This book, however, took a turn and I found it to be mostly annoying. Sure, there was some fun humor, but mostly Ellie was whiny and I really started to dislike her and to think Adrian should just move on. I really hope this series redeems itself in the 3rd book because I really think it started with such good potential.

Adrian agrees to chaperone his little sister to a New Year's Eve party when he recalls that it is where Ellie will be. She tries to push him away, especially when she thinks he is checking out other women when in fact he is watching his sister. They spend the night together again, but he finds out her ex is still living with her. Unable to forget her, he keeps buying something for her, but tries to keep his distance but when he bumps into her in a coffee shop and her ex shows up arguing, he challenges Marc to a fight. Ellie is afraid Marc will hurt Adrian. Once more they spend the night together, but Adrian is annoyed that she doesn't trust him.
The more we see of this couple, the more we want to give Ellie a shake and a talking to. But as is common with Ellis O Day's writing, we understand and sympathise with her annoying behaviour and just hope for the best. Still funny, still tender, still sexy, more frustrating!

A Banging New Year: A steamy, alpha male, romantic comedy (Hot Holidays Book 2)

The continuous love story of Ellie and Adrian. A fight between Adrian and Marc, Ellie's ex. Who will win? Marc has not move out of their apartment and he is playing dirty. He has thought out and broken many of her things. He want her out of the apartment. Where is she going to go? Great story.

This chick is seriously annoying. Just shut up already. The only time she is nice to him is when they are doing it, and even then shes kinda mean. No chick is worth all that. She keeps saying "i dont wanna be with a guy like him" as if hes a cheater just because hes hot, but shes basically using him for sex.

I enjoyed the book but it is like reading a couple
of chapters and then you have to buy another book. The story doesn't have an ending....

I enjoyed Adrian & Ella's book. Good characters. It was a fun, entertaining read. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
