They’ve attacked Dad’s Workshop, broken his Christmas cane, and taken him and the cherubs who work for him prisoner.
Unholy night, it’s a mess—and I’m the only one who got away.
Now, I have to figure out how to save Christmas, with only five of Santa’s reindeer as my helpers. Reindeer who are incredibly intelligent, sure. But still, they’re just animals.
They couldn’t possibly be more than that…
I sure hope my luck shifts soon. Because if it doesn’t, Christmas might be doomed.
This is a reverse harem romance intended for adult audiences.
Demon's Joy Reviews
-
It has been the holiday season so this New Year’s Day, I am trying to play catch up with my reviews of books I adored. I could not stand to not share my thoughts on “Demon’s Joy”. Festive, Reverse-Harem, Demons… I loved it.
First for context, this takes place in the same world as the authors’ Darkest Flames series which I also enjoyed but not to the degree of this beauty. I think the difference for me was the heroine normally in romance novels. I can’t stand them. Either they are Mary Sues or they are too kickass to the point of utter stupidity and a loss of likability. But Joy is truly a joy to read (pun intended). She is so sweet, cute and kind but also sassy and funny. When push comes to shove she’s kickass in a likeable way (which is great).
The dudes. All demon’s in a gang which in Denton and May’s universe is called a murder like a grouping of crows is called in our world. All of them I loved. They were so distinct in personality and ability which often augmented their personalities.
Normally, I am not a big fan of themed books like Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc as they feel almost gaudy about the setting but “Demon’s Joy” makes the setting very plausible in the context of the wider universe of the two series. I read a lot of these books though I guess I can’t judge. Also, Santa is a badass angel and I am here for it.
To finish. I’m so happy I read this but I’d wait til Christmas time to read it or July when you need that Christmas fix. I could chow down on sugar cookies all year long! Also I don’t if I mentioned it but the men were transformed into reindeer and they sound adorable. -
This book was so much fun for a holiday read. It was the perfect blend of cheesiness with holiday cheer. When Christmas is threatened it will be up to Santa's daughter and her men to save the day. I really thought it was a cool idea that angels were running the North Pole and that Santa himself was an archangel. Being run by demons also comes with the risks of demon attacks and those who want to ruin and spoil Christmas. Five demons have just that thought until they are caught by the big man himself (Santa) and are turned into reindeer. For years they are stuck in this form and end up becoming Joys (Santa's daughter) best friends. Living as a half human surrounded by angels and perfection is not easy for Joy and so she spends much of her time baking and sharing her treats with her reindeer. After Christmas is threatened once again Joy won't stand for it and plans to save the day herself. Then she finds out her reindeer are actually demons themselves and she is their mate. The book is fairly short and I'll be honest I'm not even 100% sure on who all the guys were but I still loved them all. Blitzen was my favorite though, the sloth demon who is slow, tired all the time but still obsessed with his mate. It's rare this guy didn't have his eyes at half mast and I just loved the thought of them all being some type of 'specialty' demon. Wish I had read this prior to Christmas but the holiday cheer was still on point and can be read whenever throughout the year. Really adorkable read :)

I preferred the guys as reindeer. For almost half the story it was Joy with five reindeer. It was slapstick and entertaining. Then they were demons and it was still fun. Santa was a bit of a killjoy up until the end. Plenty of flirting but no sex until close to the end. Favourite character was Nico, although Bryn was entertaining. Fun Christmas story with HEA.

Last week I finished the Demon's series written by Ann Denton and Katie May. It was love at first sight. Everything about it worked for me. The characters were amazing, the relationships were great and developing naturally, the plot was gripping and the last book was a rollercoaster. In that last book we also saw a glimpse of Joy and her harem of demons and that got me even more excited about her story. Since St. Nicholas day has passed, it was time to start the Christmas cheer.
And once more Denton and May delivered an amazing book! That already starts with the world they've builded. In this book we visit the Christmas realm, part of Heaven and in the hands of angels, trying to spread goodness and cheer. Without changing much about the Christmas world we know, Denton and May do give this world a unique feel. Mostly because in this world it aren't the elves running Christmas, but the Angels.
The true stars of this story however were the characters. Especially the demons were amazing. The moment I realized that the demons had been turned into our well know reindeers I literally started smiling and that smile hasn't been wiped off of my face until long after I finished the story. The demons all have their unique personalities and strengths and even though the book isn't that long it was easy to tell them apart and to start rooting for them.
And that's mostly because it's quite clear that those reindeers or demons are the best thing to happen to our dear Joy. In a world full of perfect angels, Joy is half human and therefore far from perfect. She lies sometimes, she makes mistakes, she says things she shouldn't have said and she does things she shouldn't do. But her demons love her and she loves her demons and as a reader I wanted nothing more than for them to get their happily ever after. -
Such a fun Christmas story. Joy and her demons are soo much fun. Loved all thier antics and cookie stealing.

Great Book for All Year Long!
FMC: 5
Men: 5
Story: 4.8
World build: 4.8
Man did I love this story. I did read the 1st books of this world (Demon Kissed) and I already know I like the writers and the world they created. The only reason I gave world building a 4.8 is I feel like their is some parts that could be embellished to round out the world building.
The FMC Joy is so cute, funny and sassy. She is what I would want Santas daughter to be like. And when push comes to shove she has some lady balls. (*which I love)
The men (demon murder) are Soooooo yummy. They make me want to have a murder. I love that these are different types of demons then from the books of the same world. I got to get an insight to how a murder like this operates. So sexy!
As for the story I was incredibly happy with it. I used hate most themed books but these authors did it right. I love what the demons are threw 1/2 of the book. It made so much sense to me. I love how BA Santa is while only being in parts of the book. I enjoyed the POV's and the world traveling they did for the Christmas candy cane. Also those bad demons got what they deserved!
All in all this book was amazing and you should get it. . . .now, trust me. 😉 -
You might know about dick in a box but have you heard of dick in a sock? Y’all Demon’s Joy was a fucking MASTERPIECE. I don’t know what I expected when I started reading this book but it certainly wasn’t pubic hair in the shape of a Christmas tree bahahaha!
Joy’s men can trim my tree any time they want…especially Gus. What can I say I’m a sucker for the grumpy sunshine trope. *shrugs* Speaking of the hotties I have to say them being (slight spoiler) reindeer for about half of the book really helped you get to see their relationship Joy. Sex is great but sometimes it becomes the main storyline and takes away from building a real relationship.
Honestly this book was the perfect blend of Christmas, humor, and steam. Although that’s unsurprising considering what a phenomenal co-write team Katie May & Ann Denton make! This was definitely another book they knocked outta the park and I’d HIGHLY recommend Demon’s Joy to anyone looking for the perfect holiday read! -
Would've been one star if it weren't for that last scene with Gus and Nico... especially Gus. He's definitely my favorite, wouldn't mind reading a couple more stories with him front and center.
But coming back to this particular book: uhm... it was ok? I don't know. I got bored a lot, the guys spent way too much time as reindeers for my taste and then we spent even more time in what felt like a lot of filler before they got down to business (if you know what I mean). Most of the time I don't read books just to read smut but nothing else about this story perked my interest so at the end that was the only thing I was looking forward to.
I really wanted to like it, especially since I'm enjoying the Darkest Flames trilogy so much and I'm a sucker for holiday stories, but it just wasn't my cup of tea, I guess. -
Nice 3⭐ RH novel but 4 stars as a light and fun Christmas read.
Everything was nice from the cast, including the female lead and her harem, to supporting characters like Santa, the world-building, angel heaven etc. However, it never moves past just nice.
Overall, I would not call the novel ambitious and I do not think that the novel sought to be that. It had always been nice, nothing more, but it does not need to be. The best feature that the novel offers it its Christmas atmosphere. I cannot imagine that it would have appealed to me in any other season.
However, considering that I was looking exactly for that (light, fun Christmas romance), I would gladly give it a 4 ⭐ review. -
Tears of laughter and tears of joy
This book has both. This is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read. I’m talking sobbing in laughter. Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Dasher I loved them so much!!!! They are charming and handsome as reindeers go. Honestly, I’ve been waiting ages for someone to do an RH with Santa’s Reindeers I mean shifters of course and this was perfect. This book did not disappoint and Ann Denton and Katie May put a unique spin on the Santa and his Reindeer tale that you won’t want to miss. -
This book made my heart happy
This book made my heart happy with EVERYTHING Christmas. It was a fun read which made me hungry.. I think I gained a few pound in the short while it took me to read this gem.
The reindeer were funny as well hell lol. Joy is an absolute Joy to read about and the picture the authors painted about Santa's village made me want to cry with how bad I want to be there stirring up some snow and bring some naughtiness to those cherubs.
A Christmas must read! -
Christmas with demons’ Joy
Joy has been finding her love life lacking and a bit of an outsider as she is part angel part human and Christmas village is full of angels not elves. The ones she can truly be herself around are her 5 reindeer and even they aren’t as they seem to be. When demons take over Christmas village and tie up Santa aka an archangel , without those 5 reindeer she wouldn’t have been able to rebuild Santa’s magical cane in 2 days, which would’ve taken him a year. She learns she can do a lot more than baking the cookies she loves! -
Spoiler alert
Don't mess with Santa unless you wanna become a reindeer! But for those same reindeer to end up Santa's only daughter's dated mates made it all the better. I loved how the Damon's were willing to use their evil power's for good to help Joy save Christmas. I loved watching Joy evolve as well from someone who didn't believe in herself to a harass that turned evil demons into Barbie dolls!!! -
This way way better than expected.
Seriously.
Christmassy
RH
Demons with personalities
Well developed relationships
Depth of character
Sweet epilogue
Hot as hell steam scenes.
Like its just a really solid good all rounder book of its type.
Its long enough to be satisfying and short and fast paced enought to still be interesting and not dragged out for drama.
It was really original.
Reccomend as a great standalone!
Ill defs be reading these authors again! Likely asap! -
So, the story sounded like a kind of amusing train wreck and the cover was pretty and shiny. The best I can say for it is that it is what was advertised. I got about 67% of the way through and the "guys" had just reverted to their real forms and... I just didn't care anymore. I'd had enough and the pay off of the upcoming sex scenes wasn't worth it to me. They may have been well done and interesting, but I've had enough of these shadows of characters.

I love love loved this book.
Full of humour and heart with just the right amount of heat.
Demons trapped as Reindeer, Santa's an Angel And Joy whos just a little bit of naughty and a whole lot of nice.
This was a really fun read, and perfect for those of us who like a little demon in our men. -
Demons turned into reindeer...yes. please.
This was funny and different. The demons fail at taking over Christmas and end up stuck as reindeer for years and yet due to this they find their center. Their interactions with Joy as reindeer is hilarious as much as it is sweet. It was a fun holiday read. -
Unique and imaginative Christmas themed romance story. I promise you’ll never think of reindeer the same way again!
Santa (who is an angel - makes sense when you think about it) turns a murder of demons, who tried to steal Christmas, into reindeer. Joy, Santa’s daughter, is half angel and half human. Joy loves her reindeer pets and they love her cookies.
This story has lots of Christmas puns, mostly naughty, with a dash of steamy. This was a fun reverse harem Christmas story! -
I am kicking myself for not reading this book sooner. I downloaded it because I was intrigued by the cover and the blurb. I am so glad that I finally decided to read it. This book had everything I was looking for; laughs, adventure, love and sexy demon men. If you’re looking for something light hearted, funny and sexy you are in the right place. May and Denton outdid themselves with this one.
-
This book was cute, quick read. A perfectly naughty Christmas tale. I absolutely loved the authors take on Santa. The harems povs were hilarious and gave good insight to the characters and it helped highlight the reasoning for reactions when they were ‘not quite’ themselves. Also there’s a horny Rudolph mentioned.
-
This book was better than expected, it was fun, quick and christmassy with easily likeable characters. However, as this is marketed as a more ‘spicy’ book, ‘spicy’ scenes don’t happen until 92% into the book. I also knocked a star off for the portrayal of Nico’s accent… we get it he’s Scottish, JUST SPELL THE WORDS CORRECTLY.
-
All I want for Christmas isn’t...
Cue Christmas, the North Pole, Santa and his demons...ugh, reindeer. In this hilarious, fantasy, love story, Ann and Katie have written a book you can’t put down.
This will keep your jingle bells rockin. -
Wonderful Twist on A holiday story
This book was so good. The storyline gave me the same vibes a hallmark movie would. I really enjoyed Joy’s story and meeting her demon/reindeer mates. Definitely recommend this book. -
Must read!!!
This was such a Fun and Great read. I loved each guy and their different traits, their relationship with Joy. If you're looking for a fun, sexy Christmas read this is the book for you. -
A cute and fast festive read. The concept was quite original and interesting. However, I’m not a huge fan of pregnancy epilogues especially when there was very little time spent on the relationship building.

❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚
All I can say is this book is filled with hilariously sexy and cute scenes. My husband kept side eying me because I kept laughing every few minutes. This is my favorite Christmas book so far and is a MUST read! -
Good
I liked this book a lot! It’s different than a normal holiday read: angels, demons, and Christmas all rolled into one book. There was some confusion on names at first but that quickly cleared up. -
Great Christmas read
This is probably my favourite Christmas themed book. It’s funny and has a interesting group of guys. I loved them all. It was a nice quick read and kept me engaged the whole time.
