I saw these books in The Works recently for £2 each and hit by a wave of nostalgia for similar books that I read growing up, I grabbed two of them. Yes, they're written for kids aged 7 and up. Yes, I'm an adult aged 35. But since having Severe Covid in March 2020, a dozen or so blood clots in the two years since then and now having just come out of hospital after my second round of Severe Covid, my brain isn't always at its best (especially when you factor in copious amounts of morphine). And so, I thought why not give these fun looking puzzle stories a go? Surely I could break through the brain frog to successfully complete the Puzzle Quest?
The answer?
Yes. Yes, I could.
This was a fun little puzzle book with a background story running through it that requires you to complete each puzzle in order. There were a range of puzzles: word searches, crosswords, spot the difference, sudoku, anagrams and number puzzles.
This is the perfect book to keep in your bag to entertain the little ones on long journeys or to use with kids while on holiday. Something different to the typical tablet games.
There are several more volumes in the series. I already have one of them and can see myself picking it up fairly soon.
