The first thing you notice about Stuti's new book magical mythology is the wonderful illustrations that only add to the hilarity of this children book. Those illustrations, clearly, are a great leveller in more ways than one. I just fell in love with those colorful illustrations at my first glance.

It is in a matter-of-fact mannar that the author tells us about the heroic characters from the rich Indian mythology and it is in the same breath she educates her little readers about how little Krishna who defeated a big, black snake to get his ball, how baby Ram got the moon to play with and how Ganesha was also up to something adventurous.

I simply loved the theme and each story itself was the cherry on top that can be devoured in an afternoon. Author adds her wits and charms and her efforts have benefited our young generation to keep them connected with our Indian mythology. A lot of thought has gone behind this creations. And the author repeatedly mentioned some important life lessons at the end of each story. How these subjects are tied together in a single chapter, one would have to pick up the book to find out.

This is a mythology genre book based on indian mythology as you can see from the title and cover. I have been fascinated by these characters. It includes many interesting and unknown stories.

There are stories on various characters like Ganesha, Krishna, Rama, Sita, Ravana, Hanuman, Draupadi and Pandavas. It included some stories which I haven't heard earlier so I enjoyed them. My favorite one was WHEN SITA KILLED MAYA RAVANA. It mentioned about Sita killing Sahastra headed Ravana means Ravana having thousand heads who was Ravana's (King of Lanka) big brother. This was magnificent.

I believe our female mythology characters are so strong and fearless. Their lives inspire me especially Draupadi.

Overall, this was a fantastic read. It includes many colourful images and pages are smooth. The children can definitely enjoy it while learning about our great mythology. It also includes word games and puzzles and creative activities. The language is lucid. Definitely recommended!

Revolving around not one or two, but rather a multitude of different Gods and different mythological characters, ‘Magical Mythology’ by Stuti Gupta is a great attempt by the author to not only interest the young readers and inculcate in them the habit of reading, but also to make them understand and familiarize them with our customs and traditions that have been prevalent since long.

The book has been divided into eight different sections or chapters and under these, there are horde of distinct stories. They revolve around different Gods such as Sita, Ram, Krishna, Ganesh, Durga, Draupadi and so on.

I have been reading about mythological stories since a very young age and have a huge collection of books relating to same. Yet I was pleasantly surprised to see, or rather read about the stories in the book, and find that most of them were something which I hadn't read or heard about before.

The illustrations of the book are mesmerizing and the language is something which is quite easily understandable.

Along with the engaging stories, the author has also included various different activities in between to keep the readers entertained and make the book more interactive.

There are some who know how to write a story, and then there are those who have the uncanny ability to narrate and tell the story in such a way that even basic incidents will feel like they are part of something epic.

The author definitely falls in the second category as she had the aptness and capacity to convert elementary stories into narrations and put life in to the characters.

First of all let me just say that I am thoroughly impressed with the author's profound writing style. The book was formatted in a way that would leave a striking impression on the readers mind. We have got stories ranging from Ganesha's adventures, the known unknown tales of King Ravana to some of the most epic characters belonging to Hindu mythology.
Every story is accompanied with riveting illustrations which is absolutely inquisitive.

As this book is targeted to please the children, the author included various games and innovative exercises for them to get involved in. The stories are in a lucid manner and it will definitely appeal to the kids and with good morals at the end of each story, they learn something new and virtuous. The fascinating stories will be impactful while making them realize the importance of good deeds, thoughts and actions. And the best thing about this book was in conjunction with the original, well- known version of the stories, the author also incorporated less known, different spins of the same story popular in different regions of India.

Regardless whether you are kid or an adult, I'd say that if you love mythology or mythological characters who influence your life in a great way then this book is a must read.

  • AANVI WRITES

Magical Mythology by Stuti Gupta is a wonderful collection of fascinating stories that are unheard of, on various Indian epic characters. Stories are based on the childhood incidents of Gods namely Ganesha, Krishna, Rama etc.

The book is divided into 8 segments. Each segment is dedicated to one character. Every story starts with an introduction to the character and ends with a moral. The segment has creative activities like coloring, puzzles, crosswords etc.. for the kids. The illustrations in vibrant colors comes alive in every story and the glossy paper used makes it more attractive.

The book has been written in a simple language so that it is easy for children to read and understand. The author has narrated it in a way that is not only impressive but impactful as well. Though it has been targeted for the kids I feel the adults too will like it. I loved reading the entire book, but my favourite is the stories on Ravana.

    My Verdict
Magical Mythology casts its magic not only on kids but adults as well....

Children love to read or listen to Mythological stories.
The reason is because of all the mystical creature it has, makes a child’s mind wander with imagination. Also, they start to understand the culture, who we are, and how our culture is different from others. The characters and life situations in mythology help them as guidance later in life. Not only children, but being an adult I still enjoy mythological stories. And with such a beautiful book in front, who can resist oneself from glancing through it.
The Magical Mythology by Stuti Gupta, has some beautiful stories with bright illustrations. These stories are unique and have little moral at the end which makes reading more interesting.
The book has been divided into sections like Ganesha ,Rama, Sita, Ravana, Hanuman , Krishna , Draupadi, and Pandavas. And under each, we have three stories.
For example: With Durga Puja around the corner, I was thrilled to tell my daughter the story of Goddess Durga blessing Rama to win the battle, also how Ravana too blessed Rama to win the battle against him. What made her understand the story better was the little Moral given at the end.
To be good, you need to defeat the not-so-good inside you.
Her favorite topic was Krishna. She also helped Krishna to find the lotus in the maze activity.

The book also contains coloring pages, fun crosswords, maze games, and many more fun activities for children to fall in love with Mythology.

Lastly, all the stories in the book are taken from various versions of epics which include Pandav Lila from Uttarakhand , Patachritra scrolls from Bengal and Odisha, and recommended for children 10 years and up to read the stories all by themselves. While children below the age can hold the book, look at the picture, and enjoy the story while you read them out.

🍀I’ve always found the stories of ancient mythologies fascinating. So many stories of adventure and bravery as well as lessons on the power of love, honesty and honour and the price of vanity, pride and greed.
🍀 Its very good sign that now generation are showing interest in our culture .These stories are a great way to introduce children to Indian values. Stuti Gupta has done wonderful job here.
🍀 Storytelling is a great way for parents to spend time and connect with their children. Short stories often imbibe morals in an interactive manner that doesn't feel like a lecture. The next time your child asks for a bedtime story, instead of giving them gadgets to play consider telling stories out of the book of mythology.
🍀There are 23 stories in this book and each story concludes with a brief note from the author, explaining some interesting fact about a character or message related to the story. There are also beautiful pictures of gods printed throughout the book.

Are you looking for a storybook with simple Hindu mythology stories to tell your kids? Or your older kids want to level up their reading. Then this book could be the one.

The author Stuti Gupta has picked up some popular mythological characters like Ganesh, Ram, Sita, Krishna, Hanuman, Ravana, Pandavas, and Draupadi for the book. She has curated three tales for each of them and retold the stories in an engaging and attractive style.

There is a mind map kind of graphical introduction for each character followed by a small backstory and then the main story. I knew most of the tales but didn't know how to narrate them to my five-year-old son. The book made it easy.

The author laid out the book Magical Mythology with graphics, illustrations, and activities. It has so much more than just stories. The pictures amplify the tales, and my son loves to gaze at them trying to visualize at the same time. He loved coloring the pictures.

The little listener bombarded me with several questions about characters and stories. He was particularly intrigued by Ravana. Various stories in the collection highlight Ravana as a bhakt, as an arrogant king, and as a blesser. My son's black and white perception of the world will take time to understand the greyness of the human character. Ravana is indeed a complex character to understand, and the author tried to show the other side of the coin.

Overall, I loved the feeling which this book emanates. The effort of the author and her team is visible in every corner of the book. It is indeed a good option to introduce your child to Hindu mythological figures. New readers will also read and enjoy it.

Magical mythology by Stuti Gupta, a sweet piece of literary work focussing on the little stars of our world, who also are the future generation. It is a device for enhancing their imagination through the knowledge of mythology and ancient fictional tales.
Children's literature is essential since it offers students the possibility of reacting to literature, it gives students an insight into their own and others' cultural heritage, it supports students in developing emotional intelligence and creativity, it promotes personality and social skill development, it also conveys important literature and subjects.
Reading your kids famous legends and myths are so much more than sharing fun or interesting stories (or sometimes really strange and disturbing). Myth can open up imaginative new realms in children's literature, which enable children's players to flee their mundane lives, to follow and identity a hero who battles monsters and demons before he returns home victorious. It can help them realise their position in the world, their birth and death, their transmission from infancy to adulthood and their good and evil. As with adults, all children read differently; hence, the interpretation of the myth by children depends on their knowledge.
This book has colourful illustrations with an entertaining worksheet after every story which will engage the attention. This book is highly recommended from my side and your little member will find it fascinating much.

"Family is the most precious gift one can get. We must always stand by our loved ones - in good and no so good times"

Being a son of a farmer, I always believed in mythological tales. Huge credit goes to my grandmother for always coming up with various stories during bedtime. She is no longer with me, but her stories and teachings are always playing with my RBCs and WBCs.

Coming back to the book, It has 8 stories or we can say, a book with 8 protagonists i.e. Ganesha, Ram, Sita, Ravan, Hanuman, Krishna, Draupadi, and Pandavs. The stories presented in the book have been taken from Valmiki's Ramayana, Ramcharitmanas, Vyasa's Mahabharata, and it's derivatives.

"Sometimes our pride is our biggest enemy"

Stuti Gupta has been a storyteller all her life. She has earlier introduced "101 Best Indian Fables for Children" and compiled "Popular Indian Fairy Tales", which have been loved and appreciated by thousands of readers.

I think "Magical Mythology", is the most beautiful book mail received by me. Every story ends with a conclusion that is morally and practically feasible. No matter you are aware of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, but at the end of this book, something new will be surely added to your knowledge. I am in love with its book cover and all the Illustrations of this book, as they are like a magnet to engage you. It's a MUST READ, irrespective of religion and gender.

Hindu mythology has more science and metaphors behind it than we would ever know. – Nilayan
India is a land of rich ancient mythology. I remember growing up listening to these exciting and gallant tales taken from Ramayana or Mahabharata, two greatest epics of the world. Thus when I started devouring the novel Magical Mythology by Stuti Gupta, for me it was a walk into the past. To the days I would sit patiently for my nani to tell me the stories, or for my dad to read out from the Amar Chitra Katha. So deep has its impact been on me from childhood, that till date Mythological fiction stays my favourite genre.
Coming to this book – it was a joy to read it. All the childhood tales, plus some more new unheard ones were explored. Being a teacher, I had passed on the book after reading to one of my students. And it was so pleasant to see that he completed the book within a day itself. The writing style is so lucid and simple that it encourages a child to read more. The captivating illustrations and paintings made it easier to hold their attention. Plus, most importantly, it teaches them about our rich and vibrant culture in a fun and interesting manner. The stories centred on Hindu gods like Ganesh and Ram, made them more inquisitive.
The cover is one of the cutest covers I’ve seen on a children’s book. Plus the activities and assignments were bonus for me to assess them.
P.S Do pick it up and have a great relaxing break.

    Magical Mythology

    by Stuti Gupta

The book is a creative masterpiece with respect to little and colourful illustrations along with softness of narration and imagination of little specks of joy through stories of mythological characters as Ganesha, Rama, Krishna, etc. being the most prominent of them. Each story is a packet of joy along with quizzes, magical box of crosswords and creative curious questions packed in a grid.

The book is undoubtedly engaging given the fact my little sister of 12 also found it gripping and inquisitive in approach with use of lucid language and expressions of Indian traditional culture and intriguing mythological ecstasy.

India is a country where these stories of Deva, Asuras and divine spirits are heard and enjoyed all throughout with a tint of beautiful glory and honor. This book respects all of these engagements thereby making it a good spirited amusing read.

All in all, the book gives out a warm hug with an essential so indelible that would leave an impact in a positive direction on the kids and even for the adults who wish to read out with them. Undoubtedly, a recommended and subtle read there.
