A grumpy alien warrior. A pregnant librarian. A ready-made family?

Wanda has never hankered after excitement - or romance. A quiet life as a small town librarian suits her just fine. But while she doesn’t need a man, she does want a child. Just as her hard-earned dreams come true, she is abducted by aliens.

Now she’s been abandoned by her captors and assumed responsibility for two orphaned children, a pregnant alien, and a misplaced socialite. When their lifeboat is intercepted by a very large, very green, and disturbingly attractive alien, she isn’t sure if her situation has gotten better or worse.

Knowing that his race is doomed, Mganak has built a peaceful, solitary life for himself. When the lifeboat he salvages turns out not to be deserted after all, he is determined to pass on the responsibility for its inhabitants - no matter how much the curvy little female and her brood arouse his protective instincts.

But Wanda’s alien captors are hot on their trail, his ship is damaged, and the more time he spends with Wanda, the less he wants to let her leave. Could it be that his quiet life is not so perfect after all?

Each book in the Treasured by the Alien series can be read as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy HEA is intended for mature readers.

A Family for the Alien Warrior (Treasured by the Alien, #4) Reviews

  • Angela (Angel's Guilty Pleasures)

A Family for the Alien Warrior is book four in the Treasured by the Alien series by Honey Phillips & Bex McLynn.

Mganak is kinda grumpy. He’s resigned himself to being alone. Then we have Wanda who is 4 months pregnant by a sperm donor. She’s been kidnapped by alien slavers and finds herself taking care of a mismatched group of individuals.

It’s a predictable romance. Mganak and Wanda fight their attraction; because she’s going back to earth, right?, but how can they resist eachother. We get a bunch of babies, a grandma, a teenager, and a very pregnant alien.

It’s a sweet and lighthearted alien romance. It was enjoyable enough, but pretty predictable. I do like these alien warriors and those they pull into their orbit. The books in this series are all quick reads and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

A Family for the Alien Warrior fue una historia corta muy tierna y fácil de leer.

A Family for the Alien Warrior de Honey Phillips y Bex Mclynn Serie Treasured by the alien libro 4

    Argumento:

I just love all the books in this series. They are just so feel good and sweet. Every time I finish one I swear I go "Awwww"!!

  • Lisa (A Life Bound By Books)

3 stars. I’d say these are guilty pleasures books, but I’m not liking the idea about being “guilty” about anything I read.

I need to come up with a different word for it.

Also, not gonna lie and say I don’t enjoy all the alien romance. They’re great pallet cleansers and perfect when you need something a bit lighter. Something you don’t have to concentrate on. And these are perfect for just that.

Will I continue the series? Yep!

Recommended to anyone who likes alien romances.

Oh, man. I like these alien warriors. They're honorable, gruff, and very VERY protective of those they take under their wing. So to speak. There are actually no wings involved with these guys. But there are tails. Frisky, cuddly tails. Rawr!

Mganak is...he's not really grumpy. He's more resigned (as all the male Cire tend to be) to being alone and he doesn't see how what he has to offer would be enough for any female. He also has a wandering tail that likes giving hugs and latching onto the special someone who stumbles into his life.

That special someone being Wanda. Well, and the kids and the pregnant alien and the older human female who slides into the role of beloved grandma to said kids. But it's mostly Wanda. Because she's his mate and the others are his newfound family.

As for Wanda, she's pregnant (doing it on her own!) and suddenly she finds herself doing her best to care for a mismatched group of individuals. Her attraction to Mganak hits her out of the blue and she fights it a bit (because it's not fair to start something if she's heading back to earth, right?), but she ultimately falls for the big guy and his honorable heart.

Teenagers, grandmas, a very pregnant alien, babies, babies, and more babies, and one emotional support alien animal who does a whole lot of good for all of them. Like I said, I like these alien warriors and all the individuals they pull into their orbit just by being the honorable men they are. *thumbs up*

Series: Treasured by the Alien #4
    Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

This was a sweet, lighthearted, alien romance. Mganak was a protective and kind alien who instantly treats the women and children as his family. This romance centered around family and adoption which just made it a sweet and enjoyable read. While this was a good and enjoyable story, it was pretty predictable and nothing really stands out so I probably won't remember anything about this in a few months.

    Sweet and Steamy

There’s just something so warm and comforting about this series. The Cire warriors are so loyal and gentle, whilst being ferocious in their defence of their loved ones.

This is the fourth in the series and is very loosely connected to the first three, but there is only one character from those books and he is a tangential character at most. However, the theme remains the same; a woman is kidnapped from earth by the evil slavers and rescued by a Cire warrior.

On this occasion the Cire warrior had a bit more of a mixed bag to rescue. Mganak is a salvager. He lives alone on his space ship, except for his pet/companion Sagat. Sagat is a kind of dog/cat/alien creature and is intelligent and loyal. Mganak picks up an escape pod and is surprised to find it filled with women and children.

Wanda is a librarian from earth. She is also 4 months pregnant from a sperm donor. She was picked up on Earth 3 weeks prior and held on a ship with Alicia, a widow, siblings Darla and Davey, who had no parents, and another pregnant woman, who is further along and a Vedeckian (the race of slavers). Unsurprisingly Mganak is attracted to Wanda and vice versa.

This is another story of two people coming together from different cultures and finding their previous content existence could use some improvement. I really liked the family dynamic in this book. Mganak’s relationship with Darla and Davey, who is neuro-atypical, is so sweet and loving and really added to the warm and fuzzy nature of the book.

Obviously there is a pattern to these stories that all end in a HEA, but I like that there are definite differences in the dynamics between the characters, and with this book the dynamics are definitely altered by the family nature of the rescued individuals.

I really hope that this series continues because the books are a perfect bite sized pick me up, when we are all in need of one!

These CIRES are on FIRE !!! I want ONE !!!

I absolutely adore this series !!

Once again , we read about women who have been abducted from Earth . Wanda, Alicia, and this time a young brother and sister , Darla and Davy. And the trials aboard a slave ship . Also , there is another female who is thrown in the compartment with them. She is a vedekian, same as the slavers !
In this book Mganet is a Cire who is a machine repair and salvage captain . He is traveling through space when he spies a " lifeboat " . He decides to bring it aboard his ship and perhaps sell it for parts or something like that.
When he goes down to inspect the lifeboat, what he finds are three females and two children. And they demand to be taken back to thus place he has never heard of before --- EARTH !!
    Hmmmm...
Mganak is not certain what to do , but he knows that females are precious, and he feels duty bound to help .
As the story unfolds we find that , even though these people are quite different, they all basically want the same things....
    Love.
As always , I find these books in this series to be a treat to read . Although in this book , there was only one character from the previous books , so we did not get to see anyone from Trevolor. But that's ok, I loved it just as much !!!
I love the descriptions and they way the story flows. I loved how the attraction is strong, but still sweet.
A very magnificent story that I have added to my collection !!

An addictive, adorable, and spicy story, I couldn't put it down, it reads so easy. I wanted to know what was going to happen to the slaves that Mybak found, and yes, I know that I probably misspelled his name, but you know who I'm talking about. This is part 4 in this series, and I was waiting for its release forever and finally, my impatience paid off! The story is compelling, not complicated at all, it was filled with sweet characters who fit together. When Wanda finally makes up her mind, they find a way to make everyone happy. There is definite heat, and those scenes are tastefully graphic and organically occurred. I just love when these two authors collaborate, they write stories that pull you in, read past your bedtime, and then suffer that book hangover because the next one isn't written yet!

I haven't read the previous books in this series but have have been wanting to pick one up as I've been into sci-fi romances a lot more lately. This was a nice read. The world-building was good and had me picturing the story as I read. The characters have chemistry and aren't one-dimensional. The story flows organically and had me on the edge of my seat at times waiting to see what would happen. Now I need to pick up some more books by this author.

These treasured by the alien books just get better and better. I loved that this one came with a ready made family of not “perfect” children. The compassion, love and acceptance is so precious. Looking forward to the next one.

    ***So sweet***

Thank you Honey for tackling autism (Davy) I have a nephew who is like Davy and my own son is also on the spectrum but a high functioning but still faces a lot of struggles and heart aches. They are special and precious children that needs love as much as anyone else. I love this story it made me cry (happy tears) and I love Alicia and Rafalo aww I hope they get their own book. And Darla she is feisty and poor Mganak haha he is losing his mind.

Estuvo bien, pero ciertas comienzan a ser un tanto reiterativas. Vale que es el cuarto libro de la saga, pero igual.

  • Pet

This one just resonated with me from page one. I loved the children, Wanda’s strength , Alicia’s cool calmness. Perfect for a grumpy isolated male. Lovely book.

  • Jhoy

Wash, Rinse and Repeat. And that isn’t a bad thing.

Am I board of this vain the books are living in? I didn’t feel board when I was reading it. I just realized how the same it was, when it was time to write the review.

She wasn’t the kind of librarian that I was expecting so she was mostly the same as the other females once the attraction kicked in.

Seeing a female of the alien race that were kidnapping people was nice and I knew who she was going to end up with. That was no mystery nor did I think it was meant to be. But it was a bit out of the blue how they met.

The short skirmish between the ships and the shot out were the big action scenes in the book. The twists were nice. The boy was a little under used, but this is a romance HEA book, you could only take the boy so far. I liked how the main alien had this situation that he had to resolve.

My main beef is that the cover is inaccurate along with the opening line of the description of the book. It says that the guy was grumpy. From the time he opened the escape pod or what ever you want to call it, he was nothing but nice and accommodating. The cover shows an alien with a baby looking out a ship window. That never happened.

I know, I know. Covers aren’t meant to show scenes from the book. I know, but there wasn’t a baby at all, at least a human one, on the ship. So if anyone picked the book because of the cover and expect to find alien and baby bonding, they have been misled.

Did I like the book? Yeah, I was happy with it. Would I recommend it? If that is what the person was looking for, yeah. As a flat out endorsement? Maybe. Am I jumping into the next book right away like I did the others? I don’t think so.

What would I like to find or have to see in the next book to want to read it? A girl to add something to the alien’s life other than a warm body that he has strong feelings for. For the alien to have the life he loves on board a ship or station and finding a mate that believes that it was just as great and she finding him just made the whole situation that much better with a kid or two topping the whole thing off.

I want to be treasured by an alien too! Please💖

There hasn't been one book in this series that I have not loved. From the main characters to the secondary characters you can't help but love them and root for them to succeed from chapter 1 to the epilogue. Mganak, is a Cire warrior who left his home world so he would not be forced to watch them try and manipulate its men to have genetically created children after a plague killed all the women of his race. He's a salvager and while he's making repairs to his ship his alert system goes off. He drags in an escape pod thinking he can sell it for parts. When he opens it he gets the surprise of his life a beautiful flame haired human woman hold a blaster at him surrounded by two human children, a beautiful older human female and a pregnant alien woman. What the he'll is he going to do now, I'll tell you take them in and care for them that's what. When Wanda tells him they were kidnapped from their homes he promises to do everything he can to return them. What he doesn't plan on is falling in 💘love. Wanda is a lovely librarian from down south on her way home from work when she's abducted by slaver aliens. When she wakes she meets a beautiful older woman named Alicia and two children Darla and her brother Davy who seems to be Autistic. They hand together to make their own little unique family. When They are found by Mganak he calls in love with all of them for different reasons. This ragtag little group becomes his everything. I honestly don't want to give anymore away. They secondary characters as I said before you'll love they make everything that wonderful a bit more fabulous including an awesome animal companion. It will warm your heart, make you fall in love and want an alien for your very own. I've been a very "good" girl during this crazy crappy year I wonder if I ask really nicely if Santa will bring me an alien mate of my very own 😘😘😘😘😘💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

  • Brutally Honest

I didn't like the recurring themes: the heroine is again a busybody who sticks her nose into everyone's business. Also, speculative looks abound. Everyone, and I mean everyone female, is constantly giving others speculative looks. Everyone knows when people are flirting or about to date. It seems that all the women have this sixth sense - it's annoying that everyone is a carbon copy of each other. Either they're spineless or they have 6th sense. And this sixth sense never extends over their own lives, which is what gives the nosy busybody impression, coupled with the heroine constantly wanting to interfere.

She's also some sort of super matchmaker, matching people and kids together like it's a sport. Because again, she's some sort of 6th sense-priestess. But she cannot tell that her mate, who has dropped quite obvious hints and little tidbits of info, wants her to stay. Because... drama....?

I couldn't understand what her ties were to the kids, either. And I hated how useless she was! Her role was literally reduced to this matchmaker relationship fixer-upper. She started off teaching the kids but that quickly disappeared. The Vedackian had her baby, Alicia was a good shooter, good at sewing, and told the kids bedtime stories, Darla was a whiz at tech stuff and was even able to help out around the ship, and even the boy whatever his name was was good at sorting things and helping out. All we got from her were failures - failure to teach science or maths, failure to cook, failure to walk down the stairs, failure to shoot.... ugh.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was competent, if not especially vivid. The characterization of the hero and heroine was competent , with the both of them being sympathetic individuals, if not especially nuanced. I would rate the heat level at three chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning that I read this novel in one sitting. There was a medium amount of tiresome angst, of the Refusal to Go After What You Want type, and high stakes, which I enjoyed. This novel used the Found Family trope, the Mating Bond trope, and the Partner in Trouble trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were both four stars. The characterization was three stars and the development of the romantic relationship was four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sweet sci-fi romances with found family and an exciting plot. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will probably buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Mganak has lost two families and, accustomed to his loneliness, doesn’t see any hope in the future for a third try. He lives his life alone, as a deep space salvager… That is until he goes to salvage an escape pod and discovers it’s full of women and children. The one bright woman who stands up to protect the rest, instantly captures his attention and the interest of his tail. The tail always knows.

Wanda has a deeply ingrained need to take care of those she loves. When her father died, leaving her with no one to dote on, she decided to make her own family and had her self artificially inseminated. When she woke to discover that she had been captured by aliens, she instantly took the other captives under her wing and made a family in space. But will she get to keep her family this time?

I absolutely love this series. Although the first book is my favorite, this novel has the same strong female characters, adorably loyal and smitten males, enough action (steamy or otherwise) to keep the plot moving, and a satisfying HEA.

  • Laura Levada

Another romance where I get to cheer for #teamtails! Priorities, you know?! I loved the characters from this book. ALL of them. Everyone in this story needed some TLC. Kareena needed to be accepted. The kids needed to be cared for properly. Of note is the child, Davy, who seems to have a form of Autism. It was great to see in this story as it's something that many families have as part of their dynamic. Middle-aged Alicia has always wanted to be part of a family and she gets her wish. And pregnant Wanda is so enamored with Mganak... I'm a sucker for the hot alien rescues earth female story. I find the Cire males irresistable. I love when Honey & Bex get together to write! I think it's magic! This story was the perfect amount of sweet and steamy. If you're a sci-fi romance fan, you'll love it. A Family for the Alien Warrior is low on angst and the perfect read to end crazy year 2020. 4.5 stars!

Another amazing book in the series. Granite the aliens are very different looking, green, but some human features, and a tail that has a mind of its own. And don’t get me started on what that tail can do. I have enjoyed every book in the series so far including this one. Human women have been taken from earth bye slavers who intend to sell them to different species whose women no longer exist thanks to a plague that ravaged the universe. But there are good guys out there who are trying to put a stop to it. It seems that saving these females, and most often they have children with them to prove they are breeders, seems to bring out the meeting in instinct of some of these aliens. The stories are wonderful, the children just add that little something special to the stories. There is a little bit of danger, a lot of love, And families that are at the heart made up of different species across the universe.

Mganak was a salvager. While working on his, his alarm went off. he went to check. He found an abandoned lifeboat. There was no rescue signal so Mganak thought whoever was in the boat had been rescued or were deceased. After he pulled it on his ship and opened it, he was surprised to find a human woman holding a blaster on him. There were four other occupants, a pregnant Vedeckian, an older human woman, and a young female and boy.
Wanda had been abducted from the earth. She was pregnant. She had met all the others on the ship where they were held captive. They had been together long enough to become family.
Will Mganak and Wanda become family? Read "A Family for the Alien Warrior" to find out. Guaranteed HEA.

    Endearing

Mganak is a Cire that we haven't met before. He is out in his spaceship salvaging items when he comes upon what appears to be a" lifeboat". It isn't emitting a rescue beacon so he assumes that either the inhabitants were rescued or they are dead. So when he opens the pod and discovers two human children, two human women and a Vedeckian female, he is startled.
Wanda is one of the human women that was kidnapped from Earth by the Vedeckians. She is 4 months pregnant and only wants to return home. That is until she gets to know Mganak better.
This whole cast of characters is great. Each one has their own little quirk that makes the amazing. Even though they were strangers to begin with they join together as a family helping whenever they are needed.
I love the Cire world and would love to read more of these endearing stories.
