MAKING NEW MEMORIES
I enjoyed the first novella in the Cowboy Christmas series. Zoe Valentina had left Denver to spend Christmas with her sister, Brie, and her family. Her boss, Eileen Mapleton insisted that she get back to Denver or lose her job. A winter snowstorm, slick roads, and a deer jumping out will have Zoe in a ditch. No one is moving, no tow truck to rescue her, and no real provision—until recuse comes in the form of a cowboy on a horse.
Chase Thornton will come to the rescue of Zoe Valentina. He isn’t thrilled about having her in his home, but he knows she can’t stay out in the storm. What Chase doesn’t realize is that she will come to his rescue too.
Zoe: Sometimes, the most uncomfortable moments in our lives are the ones that change us for the better. Though I still haven’t figured out how face-planting in the snow in front of you that first night was in God’s plan to improve me.
Chase: I’m sure there’s a reason.
Zoe: Not for your amusement, twerp.
Chase: Seriously, I was concerned. Your car took out a part of a barbed-wire fence. That stuff can mess you up if you get tangled in it.
Zoe: I’m glad I had you there to make sure I made it out safely.
I liked the story, the two main characters, and the several secondary characters. Chase is the only one of his brothers who cares about the family-owned ranch. He thought he was in a relationship, but she ran off too, leaving Chase bitter. Finding Zoe and her wrecked car in a ditch has him doing his Christian duty of rescuing her. Zoe proves to be helpful, resourceful, and appreciative of everything. She is upset about dealing with her boss, who doesn’t care about anyone else, but it isn’t the end of the world. Maybe it will be a blessing in disguise.
“There’s nothing I can do but make the best. New path, new opportunities. It can be scary. That’s ok. Being a little scared keeps us on our toes.”
The story is a sweet, clean contemporary tale that will bring two strangers together right before Christmas. It will be eye-opening and healing for each of them. Fate came calling at the perfect time with Christmas cheer. While there was no declaration of love (this takes place in a matter of only a few days) it does have Zoe and Chase believing in a future with each other. -
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was an enchanting Christmas story. This is only written from Zoe's POV. I prefer a dual POV as I like to see the thought of both characters to make the story more in depth, at least for me.
Zoe is visiting with her sister and family just before Christmas. Unfortunately her boss is of the unreasonable type and demands she come back to work. Zoe can't fly home as there is a big storm coming into the region. She is going to have to drive home. It is going to be a LONG trip home due to the weather conditions. Zoe has an accident due to an animal coming onto the road. She can't get anyone to come and tow her out as the roads are closed. As she settles into a blanket in her cold car, she hears a noise. A rancher is out and comes to her aid. Chase Thornton is out checking on his animals when he comes across Zoe. He takes her back to his home.
As Christmas approaches, these two get closer to each other. Zoe wants to repay the kind rancher for rescuing her and taking her in. She wants to learn and keep busy with helping him around the ranch as well as cook for him and his ranch hands. Zoe is the typical city girl but comes to love the beauty of country life especially if Chase is there.
This is really a clean romance that I think anyone would enjoy. -
First time reading author
2.5 Stars
This came up as a recommendation in KU. The title and book cover caught my eye. I liked the premise of the story. The writing wasn't great though and it was written in 3rd person, which I dislike. Especially if not done well.
This is an inst-love holiday story with no intimate scenes. But somehow ends in an HEA. I think this was a Christian romance. -
Loved this story. Started out a little rough but quickly caught and held my interest. Chase is gruff but has a heart of gold. Zoe has an accident and totals her car, thereby not being able to return to work on time. Great story with wonderfully written characters that relate well.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review. -
Stuck with a Cowboy for Christmas was a fun fast read. If you like Christmas, snow storms, cowboys, and romance, then I would suggest giving this book a read; maybe by the fire during a snowstorm while munching on a Christmas cookie! Click below to read more.

This was a welcome escape for an afternoon of reading. A hard-edged man and a woman unhappy with her work-life get thrown together and end up saving each other. An easy, romantic read that had me laughing and grinning.

Finding Happiness
Story about Zoe who wants a job that cares about people. She has an accident and meets a cowboy who doesn't want complications in his life.
A great story to buy and see what happens. -
Pretty Good
This book was pretty good. A bit unrealistic in how fast the relationship goes, though. The characters were enjoyable and I wouldn’t mind another story set in this book’s world. -
Cute story
Stories like this make you want to live in the characters world. If only life was as good as this. This author makes the whole thing real. -
Cowboy for Christmas
Sweet, cute, short story with much wisdom. Would love for the story to continue on. Want to hear how they made a good life together. -
A cute story but I wasn't feeling the connection between the main characters.
