A Difficult Conversation: How to Talk to Trump Supporters Reviews

This book was very helpful. It has many sections including how to talk to Trump supporters, bible verses to share with them, and some movie quotes that you can send to them. Best political book I have read all year.

Edit: After much thought and deliberation I decided I am horrible for not including a link to where the author will sell the pdf to you for $0 so you too can know how to talk to trump supporters.

What an incredible little book with MASSIVE importance. This is a book for everyone, truly. Brilliant thought and humanity poured into it. Shea is an absolute master at putting thoughts to paper, those type of thoughts that one may have trouble putting into words. Shea does that for you. This book does that for you. Absolutely brilliant. Read this book.

  • Jack Waters

    A timely, important read.

  • Danielle

Such a necessary read if you, like me, are dealing with strife in your personal life related to politics. I found the right words to really get the message across to my dad, and it’s brought new understanding to our relationship. Shea just has a way with words!!

  • Michael

Shea really gets to the heart of the matter for the BEST way to make a connection with people who support Donald Trump. Enlightening!

  • Sophia

The best bit is the Bible verses.

    Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me, and right now the thing He is strengthening me to do is tell you to fuck off

  • Brian

A tour de force. The most important work of political journalism / self-help literature of our time. The type of book language was invented to create.

  • Philip

This was a little bit too wordy and preachy for me, but it gets the conversation going. I know it's tough to trust a book that has a 4.82 rating, but it's pretty good. My guess is that the rating is inflated by Shea Serrano fans like myself.

If you struggled with the Trump presidency, and wondered how any cross-section of America (let alone a significant cross-section) could vote for him, you'll probably read this and nod along with a lot of it. It's not all good advice, and you'll have to determine for yourself when and whether or not to use it, but you my guess is you'll agree with a lot.

And if you're a Trump supporter, and you want the inner-monologue of what a typical Lefty thinks about your vote, you'll probably get that from this book, too. But my guess is this book isn't so much for you.

In the words of CeeLo Green, "I still wish you the best."

  • Amy Rae

One of those ephemeral, one-note joke books that's mildly cathartic for the time it takes to read it, then utterly forgettable. God willing, it'll be detritus in the gutters of history soon.

  • Tj Hizer

An essential read in these trying times

  • Rinku

The greatest book I've ever read. Beautiful prose.

  • Jessica L. Martens

This quick read comes at a crucial point for our fractured society. Serrano’s fourth novel answers questions people in politically-divided families might have as holiday season approaches. Would make a great gift!

Very insightful. 500 pages worth of information put into 64 pages. Must read.

Yep, it's a pretty good joke.

This book helped open up a conversation with my family members over the difficult times surrounding current events. Shea has a wonderful way of putting things I've always wanted to be able to convey into just the right words!

Read it cover to cover with them and paused to have conversations where necessary. They didn't have much to say, but it helped me get some things off my chest and we were able to have a productive conversation following our read of it.
