How to Survive Your Life Without Putting a Gun to Your Head

Today Life is Hard.

PLEASE avoid putting a gun to your head.

This book has some suggestions on how to survive your life. First rule is eat chocolate-lots and lots of chocolate-then say a little prayer, sing the song “You are my Sunshine”, give someone a hug, read a good book, eat a chocolate sundae, say a little prayer.

How to Survive Your Life: Without Putting a Gun to Your Head Reviews

I hate leaving one star reviews but I’m honestly shocked this was published. The images are blatantly downloaded clip art and the messages are trite and repeated so many times it’s cloying. It reads like a basic and cringeworthy Pinterest vision board. I love the idea of helping people through their lives but I feel like this book fell short on its objective.

    GIVEAWAY!
This came with a lovely message from the author and I wanted to love this book but I just didn't understand it. The writing is simple enough for a children's book but there is a gun on the front with implied suicide in the title. However, I wouldn't call it an adult book either. The photos are stock photos from the internet and the writing is not clever or original. I just didn't get it. The author seems like a lovely person but this book wasn't for me.

Dr. Bruess’ book is inspirational. My children read it before I did and it had them smiling page after page. I’m sure this will be one we will all look at again and again when we are feeling down. And now I want some chocolate. I would have preferred original photographs or artwork rather than the public domain images used.

I won a free copy of this book via a giveaway. It's hard to call this a book -- it's really a picture book with a few words about eating chocolates and saying a prayer that you'll finish in 10 minutes. If it had been presented that way, I would've known what to expect. But I thought this would be an actual book. Maybe I missed the message.

Easy, practical advice with some chuckle worthy pictures.

Cute book and good to look at during a pandemic.
