Presenting work from both scholarly writers and activists, this volume reflects a range of critical perspectives vital to the expansion of Fat Studies and thus constitutes an essential resource for researchers in the field.

It's one thing to say that fat people deserve respect too, or that fat people shouldn't be bullied for being fat. Which I completely agree with. People shouldn't be judged negatively just because they don't have a 'beach body' or whatever.

But it's another thing entirely to say that there is no link between obesity and health issues. But then, her degrees were in sociology and philosophy, not medicine or health. Hell, she was stupid enough to fall for a bogus paper written by some dude with a fake name, who she then invited to speak at a conference she held in 2020.

Her academic - and social life - revolved around fatness and the stigma fat people faced in society. Which I could respect more if she didn't reject the science that connected obesity with health issues. From what I see of her activity online, it seemed that fatness was all she thought about. She was so caught up in her persecution complex that she even went so far as to deny that obesity was a risk factor in COVID-related deaths and complications.

40 bucks for the Kindle version, 160 bucks for the hardcover book. God damn. No one should pay that much - or anything for this kind of shit. I would give this crap negative 100 stars if I could.
