Replicated Murder by Erica J. Whelton

This is book 2 in the Medium with Heart series and Joanna Webber's story continues. This could be read as a stand-alone book as there is enough background information shared to follow along.
Joanna Webber is a 29-year-old woman whose husband died and left her with a lot of debt. To get herself out of her financial difficulties she creates a business out of being a medium and has faked her way to great success. At the start of book 1, her medium powers are coming back after being dormant for years. In this book # 2, Joanna has a stalker and is trying to help her potential love interest, the skeptical detective Clint in providing more clues on a serial killer who targets women who look a lot like Joanna, while also taking care of her adoptive daughter and her growing business. There is a great cast of supporting characters, the story is well crafted and entertaining. I was engaged and will purchase the next book to continue reading about what is next for our medium.
There are a few things that irked me while reading this book; Joanna's kindness and empathy for the victims and her need to give them closure, overrides her common sense in relation to her own safety. Being able to interact with ghosts/spirits I would have thought gave her an advantage when finding herself in a dangerous/suspicious situation. At times she displayed TSTL tendencies.
I did not get any romantic vibes/chemistry between Clint and Joanna, for me the "dating" interactions read "friends" maybe "friends with benefits" not Happy Ever After romance.
There are not a lot of reviews and ratings on Goodreads or Amazon but if this is a genre you like to read then try a sample on amazon.com. If you subscribe to the author's website you will receive a free novella called Unsolved Murder which is the back story of Joanna Webber when she was a 10-year-old girl and why her medium powers have been dormant since then. 3 and half stars.

I might be throwing some spoilers in so be forewarned.

Joanna seems to be on the radar of the serial killer from the first book. She obviously was the desired target he wanted and was biding his time until he was ready for her. She's settling in with Oakley and getting her business back to normal and readying for another tour. Until a certain sexy Detective begs for her help to see if she can contact the victims to identify them. She reluctantly agrees but seems like her life turned way more dangerous. Things progress a bit with Joanna and Clint in a romantic sense and start seeing each other. Is this something they really want? Will Joanna keep out of the clutches of the killer before she's caught too?

I wish this was more in-depth writing wise. Everything seems surface only if that makes sense. Not to mention I dont feel chemistry between Clint and Joanna...very little. I guess thats a moot point though considering the ending but I hope in the next book if they get another chance if he pulls his head out of his booty that we get a little more feeling into these two. One thing I dont get is the word usage replacing No with Nay. If this was an old-fashioned dialect throughout the whole book I'd completely understand but everything else is normal. Its bothersome though. Only time its used now is when a vote is cast in elections or political votes in House and Senate. I'm confused.

Joanna and the gang are back and investigating another serial murderer. As the number of dead women rise , Joanna is feeling a little uneasy over the amount of women coming to her for help . With the help of Clint, the sweet sexy detective they will try and get the Playhouse killer . Before Joanna becomes his next victim.
Joanna and the gang are back and better then ever . Joanna is working hard and balancing life as a medium and her home life with a newborn . She is one hardworking woman through out this story . Clint is back and sweeter then ever and when Joanna and Clint are together they are such a cute couple . They are becoming more complex and you will love them .
This is the second book in the series and I will say I rampaged my way through this story in an evening . I was totally into the story so trying to figure out who the Playhouse Killer was . I was thrown for a loop a few times , and the person i thought it was well what a red herring that was .The author really took us on a ride with this book with all the twists and turns . The only thing that had me kind of tuning out was all the baby talk that went on . Yes I know there is a child written into this book but I feel that it was over used a bit . Over all I enjoyed the story very much and can't wait to read book three .

    Absolutely fantastic.
Going into this I was like "WAIT! We didn't get closure from the murder case Detective Hartley was working on..." Geez, I just need to be patient.
Someone in Creekview is torturing and murdering women. Women who seem to resemble and could almost pass as Joanna.
After her success with Jeremy Landon, Detective Hartley and his partner don't think there would be any harm in asking Joanna for help. Maybe hoping she'd been in contact with a few of the dead women and they could give them a clue.
With so many new people in her life and the threats getting more heated towards her how is Joanna to know who to look out for? Everyone seems to be suspicious and there's just too many people she's only just realizing she's crossing paths with constantly now that she's paying attention.
Trying to learn to be a mother, getting her tour on track, maybe getting her love life together, and a killer on her heels. How's a girl suppose to survive all this?!?

“This series has proved to be a really good one with lots of mystery. If the first book game the vibe of Ghost Whisperer and iZombie this second part adds Criminal Minds to the list there’s no doubt about it. Joanna is back with more mystery and her journey had me on the edge. I was really happy that certain detective sweet as candy a.k.a as Clint was back too! Joannna isn’t safe yet there’s still someone after her and considering she had a new baby to care her of… her life was pretty complicated though but she’s smart, strong and capable of continue this journey. Back to the romance, well something special is building between Clint and her. They’re adorable and Clint is one of the sweetest men ever! I’m ready for the last book.”

Joanna and Clint team up to find a serial killer and to get to know each other. People and spirits come and go from
Jo's life, and she deals with threats and vandals. This us an intriguing story that caught my attention to the end.

The Medium with a Heart series has me sucked in. Just enough drama, humanity relationships to keep me turning pages past my bedtime.

Sure getting up for work in the morning is going to be hard, but I will rest knowing who the murderer is!
