Emery just survived another breakup and already her mother, sister, and friends are pushing her to find a new man.

A stranger at the town coffee shop catches her eye, but she can't stay and chat. The holiday festival is a day away, and she has to bake cookies to sell as a fundraiser for the food bank.

Yet, somehow, he finds her again.

Rumor soon spreads that their town's iconic sawmill has been bought up by someone from the city. The official announcement will be made at the festival. No one in town wanted the property to sell, especially not Emery. It's the last standing memory she has of her father. The new owner is the last person she hoped it would be.

Can Emery save the mill and find love?

    The Gist
Emery lives in a close knit community, volunteering as much as she can between her two jobs. She is fresh off a relationship with a cheating fool & a bit standoffish about finding a new man. That doesn’t stop her friends & family from pushing her in that direction though.

Someone has bought the Old Beaver Boards Mill, making her fear the worst, that the Mill and its many memories will be demolished.

Grayson is new to town when Emery bumps into him at the cafe. She is intrigued by him and much to her chagrin, can’t push him from her mind.

The story continues intertwining these two characters with this close knit community.

    My Thoughts
I love the focus on the importance of volunteering in your community. Emery knows this as it gives her the most purpose in life. I volunteered at our local humane society for about 10 years and it was an eye opening experience that I wouldn’t trade. I also reaped the benefits of parent volunteers during my teaching career. I don’t know if they realize how helpful they were!

Grayson brings in a bit of military background giving him a reason for being in this particular place. He has a plan that might not fly with Emery or the community. He is willing to listen to reason which is refreshing.

    Say What?
There are some crazy coincidences in Cookies, Coffee, and Christmas. They may seem unlikely, but weirder things.... Read the full review at

The perfect blend between sour and sweet

A short but deliciously sweet Christmas story about grief, trust and love.

Why the perfect blend between sour and sweet, you ask ? Because grief is sour and sometimes bitter, but finding someone who’s been through the same things as you, makes it a little bit better. And sweet, not only because they have cookies, but mainly because finding love again, after you promised yourself that you won’t fall again, makes it that way. And Emery and Grayson do indeed deserve a new start.

Their story takes place around Christmas time, when the small town gets ready for the Holidays. After running into each other, without having any idea what life has in store for them, they meet up again at the Christmas fair where Emery learns a new thing about Grayson. Okay, maybe more than just one.

Having come to his hometown, Grayson, wants to make some changes, bring it “back to life” as he says. But his main idea is not so welcomed by the townsfolk and upsets Emery. But neither of them will backdown, from what they want.

Surprisingly, I came to a point where I had no clue what I wanted to read. I had at the time 3,066 ebooks in my Kindle library, but didn’t know which one to read. Being that it’s December, I decided a Christmas story might be a great idea, so I searched “Christmas.” Cookies, Coffee & Christmas was on the results and I noticed it’s a Short Story so I knew I could finish it quickly.

It’s a cute story; a lovely novella! Emery is still recovering from her last break up and unwilling to date at the moment. Then she literally bumps into a new handsome fella who’s new in town. Is she ready to get to know him?

The town holiday festival is coming up and Emery is busy making cookies for the food bank. She’s always helping out others and this bake sale at the festival is no different. At the festival it’s announced that the saw mill Head been purchased by someone from out of town. Could it possibly be this new man she ran into?

The townsfolk aren’t very pleased to hear the original plansfor the mill. Will the town be satisfied with the final outcome of their beloved mill?

I give this novella 5 out of 5 tiaras. It’s an easy read and the characters are lovely. Just wish it was longer soI could get to know them a little better!
