Author’s Note: I wanted to make this chapbook, 𝟐𝟎 𝐀𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐬, free & available online, as to reach as many people as possible in the time of this pandemic. So much love to Black Warrior Review for making this happen.
This chapbook is part of a larger project that will be a full-length collection in the future.
(And check out the chapbook’s endnotes for further explanations on the properties of each element, which I’ve incorporate into the sonnets themselves).

20 Atomic Sonnets Reviews

I didn't entirely get it, but enjoyed the 20 sonnets anyway.

I didn’t know what to make of this book. Poems about the periodic elements are totally my jam, but I couldn’t emotionally connect with these works. It’s not a cold cerebral text, but I never got caught up in the work and I think the fault rest with me, seeking some for of literalism in these elements’ depictions. I’ve read other poems by Ben-Oni that I really dig and look forward to her full length debut coming out in 2021.
