What a fun book! This is my first Kate Breitfeller book and I look forward to reading more. The characters were interesting and fun and the twists and turns kept me turning the pages.

    I really liked it!

Becca is two years out of a divorce and finds herself on a cruise with a bunch of Mean Girls/ Suburban Housewives. This was her social circle in marriage and while she's drifted from them, she's still connected. Until enough is enough.

On the last day of the cruise, she meets a kind older woman named Amelia who points out that she really has nothing to go home to. Her ex-husband is living with a new woman, her son is off at college, and her part time job is just a part time job. So Becca decides to Jump Ship.

I was thinking this was more of a romantic beach read (I don't always read the backs of books after I've purchased them), but it's actually a mystery (with a love story thrown in). Strange things are happening. She's new in town and doesn't know who to trust. But things definitely aren't adding up, and people are getting killed.

I really liked this book and was sad when it was over. I look forward to the sequel which I think comes out later this year. Great job Kate!

This was an excellent debut novel! Becca jumps ship is an exciting, fast paced story with twists and turns and some shockers. I was invested in the main character, Becca from the get-go. As a divorcee with an empty nest, she is stagnant emotionally and physically.
She makes the brave choice to disembark her cruise and her current life. While looking for change in paradise she gets a lot more than she signed up for. She finds a new home, job, friends and even some new problems : 0) ------ The characters do not disappoint and this story has all the elements that make a fantastic novel!

I am looking forward to many more from this author!

This book is everything I needed in 2020. Every time I picked up the book, I was taken from my home in Central Texas and planted in Key West.
I wish the book never ended so that I could stay longer.
I loved the characters, the plot, and obviously the setting.
Thanks for a great read. I’m looking forward to more.

I rarely give full 5 star reviews but I could not put this book down! It has adventure, excitement, romance and twist and turns you weren’t expecting and keeps you in your toes from the beginning. It also brings with it the empowerment to do something out of your comfort zone. Really great book if you’re looking for an adventure from your own living room.

Great Characters and Plot! The colorful players carried the story along and kept you anticipating the next development. A good fun read. Looking forward to the sequel!!

I finally picked up this book and once it got going I could barely put it down.

Becca does what many wish they can at some point in their life (if only momentarily) and jumps ship to start a new life in a new place. In the beginning of the book, I was pulled along by wondering how Becca was going to be successful starting a new life, but then the previous life crossed over and things were getting weirder by the minute. I was intrigued and I wanted to know what was going on so the pages kept turning.

The mystery and suspense is realistic and there is real danger. Becca handled herself well and I found her very relatable, even as a possible romance begins to bloom.

I feel like the author kept all the players/secondary characters at a distance in this book to build the mystery, but by the book’s end I can tell that some are going to play more of role in Becca’s future and I look forward to seeing the relationships develop!

A fantastic first book in a series that I will definitely have to finish!!!!
