Few people know the truth... fairy tales are really nightmares.

Growing up as the daughter of the beast himself, I saw the wicked truth after happily-ever-after ended. And I vowed to use the only skill I had, my ability to kill, to gain my freedom.

But I failed.

Imprisoned for my mistake, I spent every day thinking about the three men responsible for my downfall. And what I wanted more, revenge or the life that was stolen from me.

Finally free, I join the Guild of Assassins, only to come face-to-face in the training yard with the men I cared for…the ones who had me locked away.

The wolf shifter who was my best friend.
The man who always made my heart race.
And the dark prince of the vampires himself.

I wanted to kill all three of them. But joining the guild meant working together. The guild was the only place where my background—as a princess and a prisoner—wouldn’t be held against me.

But our past is more complicated than I realized… and the future? Well, there might not be one.

MERCY'S REVENGE is a steamy paranormal reverse harem with a kickbutt heroine. This is a whychoose romance, meaning that our heroine doesn't have to choose between her guys.

    No Capes

I wanted to like this book, but the author was more invested in checking off a list of tropes (twisted fairytale/inmate+prison/academy/assassin/enemies-to-lovers/best friends-to-lovers/teacher-student lovers/secret powers/secret parents/multi-book series RH) than she was in writing a book with dimensional characters and a real plot. There were more references to Mercy’s hard nipples and that her favourite article of clothing is a cape than there was description of Mercy as a character or development of the AU or plot progression. This is kind of a chronic problem with Ms. Anderson’s books, though. She doesn’t trust her own writing enough to remove any of the excessive elements, even if it were to make her story better.

One of my auto-read authors is Lacey Carter Andersen. I don't know what it is, but she manages to even sell me things I'm normally not that into. It must be the writing style, that is addictive and yet never complicated, combined with the relative short length of the books, which makes it very easy to finish a book within a few hours on a very busy day. So, I didn't even really check what this book was about when I accepted the ARC I could get.

Mercy is the kind of female character I'm usually not that fond of. I understand that we have too many princesses in literature and that we're now countering that by giving women weapons. But a lot of people forget that a strong character is much more than that. But, although Mercy is good with weapons, she is also very clearly more than that. Which means that, even though she has a lot of character growth to do, she has a lot of potential.

Mercy is edged and far from perfect, but so are her guys. It makes watching them, knowing that eventually they will get together, quite entertaining. There is always a sort of tension between them, because they have different goals and different wants and needs. And they're also all very different, character wise. I especially have a weak spot for the vampire prince. Maybe because from the three guys, he might seem the least dangerous, but the most lethal.

I also really enjoy the world, the atmosphere and the mystery. We end the book with a lot of questions and a lot of promises on what's to come. There is some big revelation near the end, but it's build up amazingly well. By giving us pieces of the information, but never really answers, Andersen keeps us constantly involved in the story. We know there are loads of amazing things coming our way. We just have to wait for the when.

Mercy (FMC) featured in the God Fire Academy series. Which i loved too. I was dying to get my hands on her series

Mercy's End was the Novella before this book (worth a read) and that book explains how/why she was at the God Fire Academy and her backstory with Rian, Bash & Ares. A mysterious benefactor helps her enroll in The Guild of Assassins. Old frenemies make an appearance causing problems for Mercy there. I genuinely loved Mercy in Mercy's End and this book was a brilliant read. Mercy is just a killer character (pun intended). She bad***, Kick*** and Smart a** all rolled into one. I got a kick out of it every time she got one over Bash & Ares. I seriously wanted to slap both of them silly for their attitudes. As for Rian well he and Mercy steamed up my kindle!! So Hot!! I have so many unanswered questions after that knockout ending. Im dying for the next book now because this one was so good

Wow definitely gonna be my fav LCA series to date, I am not sure if its because we first met Mercy in the God Fire Academy series or because of the prequal but i was really looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint at all.
Mercy is rejected by her family, betrayed by those she thought her best friends and then finds herself as a trainee Assassin under a mentor she previously tried to kill.
And when she faces up to all of this and you know she has the determination to overcome everything life has thrown at her so far then bingo she is blindsided by the fact that all may not be as it seems and she may have got things wrong.
Lots of twists and turns but i don’t want to say anymore as i am not into spoilers but this is a fast paced brilliantly written adventure that has all the potential of being the best series to date by the talented Lacey Carter Anderson.

  • Jeanny

    1 Superficial star.
FMC is a brat. Men keeping secrets & making choices for the FMC. Lack of character development. Stiff dialogue between characters. Novice assassin’s club. 🙄 no I don’t recommend this book.
    Pet peeve: cliffhanger ending.

OMG what a read! Action packed and intense and Mercy is such a bad ass! An exciting steamy paranormal reverse harem , secrets, danger, anger, tension, there’s so much going on especially with our hot and sexy men who are part of the slow burn romance! Waiting patiently for the next book!

  • Tash

This book didn’t give a lot away and left me begging for more. A new series from the one and only person who is machine at give action packed stories. Mercy might be my favourite so far from Anderson and she has such a catalogue of books available.

Man !!!! I need answers because that was some shit. Why don’t they just be honest and truthful with her. All hell’s braking lose at least it’s starting too and she’s being blindsided by the guys because they’re keeping secrets. I need the next book.

  • Dallass

    Yaaass!!

Okay, after the decidedly uninspiring start, I came to freaking love Mercy. Her parents are either completely horrible or trying to protect her... I’m not sure which applies after seeing the secrets being kept from her. Her two former besties-turned-betrayers just need a good kick in the rear, and Rian is in the I’m not so sure about him box. Then we have Tasha, who I liked a lot. Can’t wait to see where the next book takes these characters.

  • MandyViolete

    A bazillion stars!

I knew this book was going to be amazing, and I was floored to find out how much more so it was! Action and steam! Twists and surprises! Edge of your seat, don’t breath, omg what is coming next moments! And that ending? Perfection.

  • Daphnne

    Oh the secrets we keep...

This was good read with great characters. Plenty of mystery and secrets and I'm looking forward to book 2 and unraveling the lies.

  • Bonnieville Liddell

    Great start to the series

Loved this. Reading it flew by, well written, great plot twist and the characters are amazing. Really can’t wait to read mor.

    Why?!?!
Why you got to do us like that Lacey?!?!
There I was just trucking along reading this fantastic book then BAM! it's over.
    Talk about cliffhanger.
Did not appreciate that one little bit. LOL.
That is how invested I was with reading this that I didn't even realize I was coming close to the end.

Mercy, our female heroine, is a kickass girl who hasn't had the best upbringing.
Her parents are the Beauty and the Beast, though she never felt like a part of the family.
She thought it was just because her parents didn't have any more love to give because they were so in love with each other, but that wasn't exactly the case.
When Mercy had taken a job that landed her in trouble, she lost everything.
And the two that she thought would always have her back?
They were the ones to betray her.
Now that she is out, she is set for revenge.
But what if the anger that she has been feeling for the last several years isn't as strong as she once thought in the face of those who betrayed her?
And what if they are the only two she can turn to in her time of need?
Mercy has to figure out what her future will hold for her, and those she cares about, as more and more is uncovered about who she is.

My little synopsis there actually includes a little background that you get from the prequel, Mercy's End.
It is a short little read that goes into how Mercy ended up at the Guild of Assassins.
I thought it was a great thing to read prior to diving into Mercy's Revenge.
It isn't necessary, but definitely gives you an insight into all the characters you are getting to read about.

We have three men who are in Mercy's harem.
While this is a slow-burn romance, you can definitely feel the tension and the love (in some of the guys cases) these guys have for her.
Sebastian, also known as Bash, is an unknown supernatural creature. We know he is something else, just not necessarily what that something is. He comes across as cocky and arrogant, but has a soft side only those closest to him gets to see.
Hadrian, also called Rian by his friends, is the Prince of Vampires. There are rumors about him being a monster and keeping girls locked away in his room in cages so he can do as he wishes. He allows people to fear him, knowing that is exactly what his father wants. However, he is the complete opposite.
Ares is a shifter, wolf to be specific. He grew up as a lone wolf after his dad was stripped of his shifting ability and cast out. His father took up as guard for Rian's father and they have lived among the vampires since. Because of this, it causes issues to rise for Ares.
These three have been friends for a long time and each fell for Mercy at different points, though it hasn't been discussed how things will play out if they ever take things further.
Bash and Ares don't want Mercy at the Guild because they know a secret no one else knows, not even Mercy herself, though she is slowly unraveling it.

    This is a fast-paced read.
Things seem to happen quickly and we are left reeling from everything that is being uncovered.
It's told from several points of view. Each of the characters has a say in what is happening around them.
And it definitely leaves you hanging.
We found out some pretty interesting stuff and none of it gets solved in the first book.
Will have to wait until book two to figure out how things will play out.
    Which I'm DYING to know.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend y'all reading it.
Lacey knows what she is doing when it comes to writing.
Stay on the lookout for book two!

Beauty and the Beast are assholes. Mercy's Revenge is the first book in Lacey Carter Anderson's Guild of Assassins series. This paranormal reverse harem follows Mercy, the daughter of Beauty and the Beast. In this story, the mortal world and supernatural world have combined and while humans don't have a clue but fairytales are real and apparently, Beauty and the Beast have a daughter they can't stand. Mercy isn't dainty or ladylike, she runs, learns to fight, likes adventure, and wants to be an assassin (because in this world that is a profession that is apparently okay with most people), she's not the daughter they wanted and they let it be known, the comments that they make, the way that she is treated by them is horrible. One day Mercy tries to kill a vampire prince things don't go well she gets sent to God Fire Academy, but lucky for her she gets her break. After years of good behavior, she gets to join the Guild of Assassins where she will get formal training but of course, things can never go easy for Mercy.

Here's the thing, Mercy isn't a bad person, I actually like her. Mercy is unapologetically herself, she is good with fighting, undeniably smart, quick on her feet, loves food and sex, she knows that she's good at, for the most part being a spy. Mercy has trained so hard with her parents' guard, Henry, that her skills are pretty good, the things that she can pull off are very impressive. Even after the mistreatment by the people who are supposed to love her Mercy doesn't let it get to her too much. She's actually pretty strong emotionally, she has confidence and doesn't let the negativity get to her too much, she still working towards her goals no matter what's thrown at her. Like I said I like her.

So this is a multiple perspective reverse harem and Mercy has a complicated past with the three guys, Bash, Ares, and Rein each have their own chapters. Bash and Ares are the ones who have a past with Mercy, they use to train together, be best friends until they betrayed her and nothing was the same. Then there is Rein who is the prince that Mercy tried to kill and came pretty darn close to. Bash and Ares betrayed her but something is happening in the background and they most definitely know something, that's obvious. They are keeping secrets about something big but I'm not sure what. Some things were revealed but it was just a taste and not the whole picture. As for Rein, he is not what Mercy thought he was, actually, Rein is a complicated soul who seems can't be helped but be drawn to Mercy. The guys are irritating the heck out of me but there is something there, I just think the guys need to own up to their actions and what's going on instead of trying to keep a very capable woman in the dark.

Not gonna lie, Beauty and Beast being unreasonable jerks to their own daughter kinda through me and I didn't care for it because that seemed totally unreasonable and unlikely. I can understand the not liking her storyline but the way it came across was just a little off but didn't take away from the story. Besides that little bit, the story was great, I liked Mercy she is a force, the relationship drama between her and Bash and Ares was very entertaining especially on Mercy's end, plus there was the shocking reasoning behind Bash and Ares behavior while it wasn't much to go by it was most definitely jaw-dropping not to mention the shocking plot twist at the end. Mercy's Revenge was a great read that has left me with a lot of questions that I hoped are answered in Mercy's Fall.

Please be prepared. This review will contain some ranting and might have some minor spoilers. Though they are learned pretty quickly into the book.

This book is about Mercy. A young woman with dreams of being an assassin. She doesn’t have a great family and was betrayed by who she thought were her best friends. After getting false information and being hired as an assassin, Mercy attempts to kill the Vampire prince, Rian. She is caught by her best friends Bash and Ares before she can complete the job though resulting in her being shipped away to a God Fire Academy for young criminals.

The story starts when Mercy is finally able to leave God Fire Academy. From there she goes to the Guild of Assassins. Unfortunately for her she runs into her old friends and the vampire prince she tried to kill. Bash and Ares know something about Mercy that even she doesn’t know and if found out it would be dangerous for her and everyone around. They both love her and have since they were young but because of this they want to protect her. Their only way of doing that though is to get Mercy kicked out of the Guild. Rian is taken by her though and finds himself growing more attracted to her and wanting her to stay there.

Here comes the ranting. If Bash and Ares truly care about Mercy why not tell her the truth? They say it’s dangerous but isn’t it even worse if she is not prepared? Especially since they know she has a habit of not backing down and is always ready to fight. Also, they knew her growing up and how her home life was. They know how her parents treated her and how they feel about her. So why do they think getting her kicked out will result in her going back home and having a good life? I honestly wanted to smack these two most of the book. Then there is Rian. I don’t really have any annoyance for him but I am curious if he knows she will be sent to the penitentiary if she gets kicked out of the Guild. I kinda hope not because if he does and still allows Bash or Ares to get her to leave then he isn’t any better and I really need one love interest who actually is thinking clearly.

Now you are probably wondering why I rated the book 5 stars when I seemed to have so many issues with it. Well that’s actually why. When a book touches my emotions up to a point I get frustrated but keep reading and want to know what happens next then it’s a win. While two of the characters annoyed me I didn’t hate them. I could see where they were coming from, they just went about it a dumb way IMO. Mercy herself is an amazing character. She has a horrible family and thinks no one loves her and even wonders if she deserves love. My heart broke for her and I hope her parents get eaten by demons. It doesn’t help that the only two people she thought cared betrayed her and are now trying to ruin her life again. But even through all this she keeps fighting. She knows what her goal is and won’t let anyone get in her way.

In the end this book got my attention and I couldn’t put it down. We get some information about Mercy and why the guys feel the need to protect her at the end but not enough to actually give us any real answers. I’m excited to see what comes in the next book. I hope these guys can get their acts together. Maybe then we can get some loving moments and maybe even some stream because the one scene was definitely not enough for me!

Mercy’s Revenge is the first book in Lacey Carter Andersen’s new series – Guild of Assassins. The author introduces readers to a tough female character with a boulder on her shoulder behind what all life has dealt her thus far. She was “betrayed” by her friends and her family left her to sit in an academy that she views as more of a prison. The only things driving Mercy are gaining her freedom and revenge. She’s granted an opportunity to get one step closer to her freedom, but hidden away in the shadows are secrets about who and what she really is…and the dangers that it will bring down on her head.
Mercy’s Revenge is one of those books that I have mixed feelings about. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. It grabbed me from the beginning and kept me page-turning to learn what was going to happen next. I love all the dark elements and twists and how dangerous this new world is. I like the variety of characters and the different elements that they bring to the story, but I’m not too keen on Mercy’s attitude.
Mercy, for me, comes off as a petulant individual. I can understand some of her feelings, but her over-the-top anger at Bash and Ares is a bit too much for me. At one point the author has Mercy saying that her “instincts were saying something opposite to the RUMORS she’d heard.” So…if that be the case…why didn’t she follow her instincts instead of blinding following rumors that cost her so much? Shouldn’t then she be more angry with herself than them? Her anger at times just seems irrational and puts her in need of a reality check.
This book is shrouded in danger and mystery with quite a bit of steam building up between Mercy, Bash, Ares and Rian. I’m eager to see where things go and the truth that is waiting to be revealed. So I’m rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I’m hoping that Mercy’s put a check on her anger/resentment, but she bears a fair amount of fault in her own choices.

I can across this author when I read Ravage and the devoured the rest of that series as soon as I could get my hands on it. I’ve been a fan every since! This author is truly amazing in what she does. I do have to warn you she’s the queen of some pretty epic cliffhangers that gut you because how they leave you hanging. But they are completely worth it!

This author writes in a way that completely captivated you. Once second you are just starting and the next you are at 82% asking yourself how you’ve read though it so quickly. This book was no different. Wonderfully written and flows so well.

I can honestly say i LOVE Mercy. She’s had a rough go. Her parents don’t love her and let her know she’s a disappointment whenever they can. As a princess she’s not a great one. Learning to fight from the time she was little she’s become quite the assassin. She’s fierce, strong, and everyone underestimates her. She’s caring even though she hides it and loyal even when those around her don’t deserve it. She’s also not quite human although we don’t know what she is. Bash and Ares are two gorgeous men who used to be her best friends but have betrayed her in her mind. Not telling her the whole picture and keeping things from her to keep her safe. Ares bringing a shifter, a Wolf, and bash being well we don’t exactly know. Rian is the vampire prince that Mercy tried to kill. He’s not like most vampires which puts him on the outs with his father. He’s intriguing and then more I learn the more I love.

Being in the Assassins Guild is not all it’s cracked up to be. With the threat of being kicked out for not passes tasks given to her and the treat of someone or something not far away it makes this story one heck of an adventure. Vampires, shifters, witches/warlocks, hellhounds and so much more! Secrets, battles, an evil closing in, what’s not to love?!

An absolute MUST read new series by this incredible author.

    Good

    **WARNING! CLIFFHANGER!**
This is a pretty big cliffhanger, life threatening type, but since book two is out already, you might want to have it lined up and ready to go!

After serving her time in the God Fire Academy (juvenile prison for paranormals), Mercy has been freed to start her training in the Guild of Assassins. There, she finds the two men who betrayed her, and the vampire prince she tried to kill.
Each of the men might be attracted to her and attractive to her, but they all have their own agendas, and Mercy’s success is not one of them…

This is a pretty tough book. Mercy isn’t the most likeable of heroines. She is arrogant, feisty, and wounded in the extreme. Her brash exterior covers up most of those wounds and you actually get to meet several of those who caused them (tearjerker alert).
It’s tough to warm up to a character who is as prickly as a hedgehog, and as outrageous as Mercy can often be.
That being said, if you don’t mind female main characters who take charge of their own sexuality, think killing is fun, and who get turned on by vicious actions, then you’ll probably enjoy this book!
The overarching storyline is intriguing and mysterious, and there are plenty of secrets both revealed and still secret.

The world building is a little confusing; with contemporary things like cell phones and cars alongside sword wielding assassins, it was a bit hard to place everything (maybe it’s explained in the god fire series?).

That being said, it was an entertaining read for RH urban fantasy/academy fans. I rate it a solid ***1/2 stars

Meet Mercy, our FMC, who has been locked up for I don't know how many years. She's can finally leave the God Fire 'Academy' (aka prison), but only if she joins the Guild of Assassins. Which is perfect because that was her plan ever since she was a little girl. But what she doesn't know yet is that Bash, Ares, and Prince Rian - her former best friends who betrayed her, and the vampire prince she tried to kill - are also a part of the Guild of Assassins.
After she finds that out it is a whole lot of I hate them for betraying me and getting me locked up, but I also find them sooo attractive. And Bash and Ares are assholes but they do it because they love her and want to protect her, but of course they cannot tell her that. Prince Rian just found it very hot that Mercy tried to kill him, I think.
What really annoyed me was that the book was only 146 pages. There was so much more room to go a bit deeper into the story. I was really missing some focus on building the characters, and actually reading about the friendship building. Now it was like she had one conversation with a girl and the chapter after that they are friends, because a few weeks had passed.

I just had a really hard time getting into this book. There is no background, no world building, no explanations for anything going on. How does Mercy end up in the penitentiary/academy, how come her parents are so hateful, why choose who her parents are (this really hurt the story for me that her parents are Belle & Beast from Beauty & the Beast fame, it just stuck in my mind to the point I couldn't get past it), why was she (& her parents) so hateful, how could the penitentiary/academy just let her walk out, not knowing if she would go where she's supposed (assassin guild), etc. Nothing was filled in, and the readers are supposed to just follow along blindly with no back story, no path to follow, no real destination for the FMC. I hate when stories just "are" with no rhyme or reason to the plot. I never even go to the point where the 3 guys are introduced, cause I just couldn't care about Mercy. Definitely won't be reading more from this author.

At my age (60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

  • Heather

    Fantastic start to a series!

The story begins with Mercy trying to get out of the reform school that's she's been in due to her attempting to assassinate the vampire prince... and it was her 2 best friends that turned her in. She's released only to go straight to the Assassin's Guild for training. Her parents have washed their hands of her.
While traveling there, she's attacked on the road and saved by Bash, one of her friends that turned her in and tries to kill him.

At the guild, she has to perform tasks to show her skills... and the master assigned to her is none other than the vampire prince she tried to kill. Her other ex-bestie is also at the guild. Strange things start happening, and Bash and Ares are trying their best to get her kicked out. And the vampire prince, she discovers, may not be the horrible Payson she's been led to believe.

The book ends on a cliffhanger and I'm really excited to see what happens next with these 4!!

I recieved an ARC for my honest review.

Mercy, the unwanted daughter and betrayed friend that was left to rot in a prison for the young (eh, "school"), has her heart full of rage and thirst for vengeance. Naturally. But with her particular skill set, this can be very dangerous. When she's brought to the Guild of Assassins but no one else than the guys that betrayed her and being assigned as apprentice to the man who caused her downfall in the first place, life seems to go to hell. She is expected to fail. To screw up. Yet is that really the worst danger around?
Extremely fast read full of action and set in the shadowy world of supernatural assassins, this book (and series) will probably turn out to be my favorite among Lacey's books. I have created an insta-connection with Mercy, feeling her strong emotions, and admiring her deadly skills (though, she could still work on some personality flaws - yet don't we all have them). The cliffhanger ending keeps me on my toes, wanting the next book come out yesterday so that I can grab it and continue... wishful thinking, but I'd love to read more soon :)

  • Denise H

Awesome start to series! *Quick suggestion, if you have not read the prequel – Mercy’s End grab that first. It’s only a few chapters but provides you with more background on how Mercy came to be at the Guild of Assassins. It also provides a lead in to the first series Mercy appears in, the God Fire Academy. She is such a mysterious character and I’m thrilled that Lacey did a spin-off with her own series. Mercy has a sad, complicated background and some of it was highlighted in the God Fire Academy so I am excited to follow her journey in her own series to learn more about her character, background and see her find her way in a world that has tossed her aside.

This book is so good! Mercy has been belittled and shunned by her family, has never really known love or compassion, and has been betrayed by her best friends in such a horrible way that sets her on her current path for revenge and subsequently how she ended up at the Guild of Assassins. As she starts to unravel the circumstances that landed her at the Guild, she starts to see that many things are not as she’s been led to believe. Trapped in a web of secrets and lies and no one to trust, she’s determined to find the truth no matter the cost. Twists and turns, great characters, mystery, suspense, and danger will keep you turning the pages to the end.

    Superb Storyline!
This is my favourite read of LCA’s so far …. It’s got everything action, angst and an ambiguous heritage! 🤩
Mercy is treated awfully by her parents, she does not live up to their expectations and is entirely disowned- you really feel for her. On top of that she is betrayed by her two best friends leading to her in a reformatory wasting years of her life😔
She is given the opportunity to fulfil her dreams and attend the Guild of Assassins , sponsored by a secret benefactor. Unbeknownst to her its someone from her past with whom she doesn’t have the greatest connection! 😮
Her two former male best friends are also at the school, determined to hide their true feelings for Mercy, along with her true nature, but also to get her kicked out of guild all in the name of protecting her without her knowing! 😍
With an unknown creature visiting her and revealing secrets (good old cliffhanger right at the end there!) about her that question everything she knows about herself, Mercy is in immediate danger!
Cannot wait to see what happens next and what Mercy may actually be!!

  • Maureen

This is a fantastic start to a new series.

    If you read the
Once Upon a Fairy Tale Night: A Collection of Retellings anthology last year, you may recognise Mercy from the prequel story there. She also appears in the God Fire Academy series. Now it's time for her to step into the spotlight.

We have a feisty heroine, who knows what she wants and will do what it takes. Three stubborn alphas who refuse to admit how they feel in order to protect the woman they love, and a big mystery that surrounds all of them. Oh, and a killer cliffhanger!

I really enjoyed this. I felt for Mercy, and wanted to shake the MCs - there's ways to protect her, but give her a choice!

I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Imagine growing up as the only child of Beauty and the Beast. A thing of fairytales right?! Nope...wrong answer! Mercy grew up being belittled and shunned by her parents. Finding comfort more in swords and a family guard teaching her how to fight. Her goal is to be accepted into the Guild of Assassin's, but being female makes that all the more difficult no matter how talented she is. In one night her entire world goes up in flames and her heart and spirit shattered. Will she rise like a phoenix or live down to expectations? Centered around a fierce, snarky, highly intelligent female, this book is packed with intrigue, supernatural craziness, hot men who think they know better, and surprises at every turn. My heart broke for Mercy with every heartbreaking comment made by her parents. I hope they truly see her one day to live to regret their actions. In the meantime I can't wait to see her cause all kind of trouble!! Book two can't come soon enough for me.
