A wonderful story filled with hope, Once There Was A Mountain shows the value of never giving up and that, no matter how old you get, you can still pursue your dreams and goals. It's written in beautiful verse and makes for a nice story to read to children during quiet time or before bed. It can be taken as a simple story or as something with deeper themes to reflect on, and that makes it great for both young ones and adults alike.

Once There Was A Mountain by Orna Gadish is not only a delightful read but also an inspiring one. Through rhyming sentences it tells you a story of determination and the sweet taste of victory that it finally fetches you. This book will instil the behavioural trait of perseverance in young readers and will motivate them to keep on going despite of difficulties. Above all this teaches everyone to have faith in themselves and their capabilities. The language is lucid and helps children easily flow through the pages and cultivate the habit of reading. Will recommend it to all young readers and adults who are still young at heart like me!

Destined to be a classic, Once There Was a Mountain... is an extraordinarily charming book with appeal to both kids and adults.

Reading this triumphant story was a pure pleasure, excellent rhymes for kids with a big message for children and grownups. The boy wanted to climb the mountain early on but was discouraged many times along the way. There had been different kinds of obstacles... Enticed by the mountain, the boy sticks with his plan, and tries his luck several times along his lifetime, as he grows up and matures... Won't reveal too much to not spoil the plot, but this powerful story captures your imagination and inspires you and your child to try hard and succeed.

    Inspiring and Uplifting

This book is a simple reminder that we must never stop trying to achieve things that make us happy, no matter how daunting they appear to be. Look for support from others, but realize the real reward comes when you find it within yourself to overcome challenges in your way. Nice job, Orna!

    Another amazing story from Orna

Orna your stories are always so deep
They leave me taking a self evaluation test each time
    This story was truly amazing
Never put off for tomorrow what can be done today
Sometimes we put off things and when we turn around it’s to late
    Never lose hope
    Run for your goals!!!

This story is a fast, fun read - strongly reminiscent of The Giving Tree. The rhyming scheme would be fitting for a Dr. Seuss book, clever and easy and flowing. This is the kind of book you can turn to in times of despair to get a lift and to not give up.

There's quite a bit more going on beneath the surface. Be prepared for lots of questions from the little ones after reading this through at bedtime. You might want to read it on your own, first, to make sure you reflect on what's happened in the story! Bravo.
