Sinful Secrets Reviews
-
This review is for Sex, Love, Lust, Hate, Mika Jolie's contribution to to anthology.
Sex, Love, Lust, Hate by Mika Jolie is one of twenty books in the Sinful Secrets anthology. One would never have guessed this was a novella based on how well developed the characters were and the depth of the story.
Sex, Love, Lust, Hate introduces the reader to Jagger and Charlotte, coworkers who could not tolerate each other. Jagger believed Charlotte was entitled and the reason she had the job was because of her Father being the CEO. However, what he didn’t know was she had to work harder than the other employees to prove herself. Their interactions were angsty, snarky, chilly and witty. Then the opportunity for a promotion forced them to work together to prove who was the more qualified candidate. It was at his point things became more interesting.
Wow! Talk about sizzling chemistry. They had it in spades. I enjoyed the pace at which their relationship developed. Not too slow and not too fast.
Working together made them realize how wrong they were about each other. Making assumptions about a person without getting to know said person is never a good thing.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Overall, Sex, Lust, Love, Hate was a wonderful story. My only complaint was I wanted more of this couple. Readers who are looking for a short story with well-developed characters, a sizzling romance and you are a fan of the enemies to lovers trope then you will enjoy this Sex, Lust, Love, Hate. -
This is a review for Sex, Love, Lust, Hate by Mika Jolie
Holy heck! I absolutely loved Jagger and Charlotte!!! I didn't think it was possible for me to enjoy a novella as much as I did this one but Ms. Jolie knew just how to hook me. I’m a total sucker for a romance between co-workers, especially when they start out as enemies and this couple were on fire long before they acknowledged an attraction between them. Add a hero who has a little bit of a jealous streak running through him and I’ve just been given everything that makes me love to read.
For a short book, these characters were very well developed and watching them move forward into a relationship was amazing. I’m awed at how much we are given within such a short amount of space. This is filled with quick, witty banter, deep insightful conversations, and just enough conflict to keep turning the pages without consuming the story.
I’m hoping this author is going to give us updates on this couple, hopefully in the form of holiday novellas perhaps? Fingers crossed!

My review is for Sex, Love, Lust, and Hate by Mika Jolie. I really enjoyed the banter between Charlotte and Jagger. They both hated each other at first, but hid their attraction to each other. It was interesting watching them try to work together, while fighting their chemistry. I hope there will be more about them in a future book..
-
Oh My Goodness. I have loved reading these amazing books. You feel so invested in the characters and story when you read them. These books were gripping, well written and the chemistry between the characters was just awesome!!
-
This boxed set has it all from an office romance to second chance romance . Each author has her own way of spicing up the heat and taking on the romance of each character they write .
The one story that really had me loving the series is THE HEIST by Theresa Sederholt .
Its a second chance romance story with intrigue and a little romance . Amelia is a wife and mother who has been through so much . He husband left her 20 years and she had to raise her daughter all by herself . The day has finally come that she has to declare him dead and it hard on her . Then one man walks back into her life and her life changes in ways she never thought . But like each romance there are secrets and lies that must be over come to get them back together . Will they be able to come together and over come what happened in the past to find their future .
The characters in this story are well written and they are complex . Amelia has been through so much . She is strong and feisty and when push comes to shove she will do whatever it takes to keep Emma safe . Mitch is a man with a past which did involve Amelia . He is a nice guy who did some things in his past that he regrets and wants to make amends in some way . Together they make a pretty great couple and a great couple of sleuths in the mystery .
This book had me hooked from the first chapter . The characters are well written and you will fall in love with them . The author takes us on an emotional yet fun rollercoaster ride . There is a story within a story in this novella , a mystery and a romance . You will be on the edge of your seat for most of the book and then you might shed a tear or two along the way . This book is a great addition to the box set . I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the set . Check it out box set you will not be disappointed . -
I loved this boxed set, and of course, even though I loved all the stories, my favorite was The Heist by Theresa Sederholt. I was thrilled she would be putting her story in this boxed set as I have read and reread everything Theresa has written.
This book tells the story of Amelia, who was in foster care until she was 17, then swept off her feet by her husband, Peter, whom she married for security and a chance at love. Unfortunately, one night when she was 7 months pregnant, her husband went to the store and never came back.
This caused so much heartache and struggling to raise her daughter all by herself. For twenty years she worked two jobs and did whatever she could to provide her daughter with everything she did not have, especially love and security.
Now it is twenty years later and she has had her husband declared legally dead, and she decides to move on. Right after the court session she runs into Mitch, one of her husband's friends and they start talking, and seeing each other.
Little did she know that 20 years ago her husband Peter, Mitch and Doug, his two best friends, did something so shocking its repercussions start raining down on not only Amelia, but all these men's children!
This book has everything. romance, angst, secrets and lies that have to be dealt with and the mystery of what really happened all those years ago. This is also a story of second chance romance, all written in the author's unique writing style.
What will happen when all is revealed and Peter's choices affect not only Amelia, Mitch and Doug, but also all five of he children, now adults as well?
I rally enjoded this boxed set and gave it a rating of five stars! -
This is a review for Sex, Love, Lust, Hate by Mika Jolie
There’s a saying that when you assume you make an a.. out of you and me. This story perfectly follows this philosophy . Assumptions are a dangerous thing that each one of us are guilty of. Without all the information and making snap judgments we could miss something great!
Charlotte has definite opinions based on a life that has presented many challenges, opinions of others and definitely her own preconceptions of if actual love is in fact real or lasting.
Jagger is handsome, smart, trying to make his mark in the world. He’s self made at this point in his career and determine to prove himself to his boss even if he has to go up against his nemesis.
These two have banter and battles for days. They don’t lack for snarky comments and definite opinions of each other. Now they’re thrown together to compete. This is only the beginning. However, is it really hate for each other or could this be foreplay of the hottest kind?
I read this book in one night. These two are the main event of this battle. Others stop by and have their place in the ring that helps make up these two. But make no mistake they are the main event. Watching the take down is very enticing. This is the Rocky and Apollo Creed of relationships. We all watched how that relationship evolved over time. I’m assuming you can see how this all plays out. I really enjoyed this book. It brought so much to the table and brings all the feels. -
Reviewing The Hate Vow by C. Hallman
What do they say about payback?
From childhood Penny, wanting to remain the apple of her adoptive father's eye and not share his affection, taunts newly arrived foster member, Ryder, until she speaks a terrible lie causing him to be thrown in jail. In the intervening years both suffer hardships.
Owing money to a motorcycle club and unable to pay, Penny attempts to make an agreement. She re-encounters Ryder who is second in command and soon learns some debts simply cannot be easily satisfied. Ryder vows to make her pay and the drama, heat, and suspense of the story unfold.
The story is a novella that feels like a full novel, an unexpected treasure hitting my favorite elements --enemies to lovers, dominating alpha male, demure but strong-willed heroine, revenge, blackmail, high steam, and dark themed dubious consent wrapped in a light suspense thriller. Excellent character development, I could feel the bittersweet emotions, the internal conflict of the main characters. Supporting characters, even though having minor roles in this book, were showcased well, in addition to nicely highlighting the main characters. There was an undercurrent of grittiness that enriched the storyline and held my attention. I liked the evolution of their relationship, their personal growth to relinquishing animosity, to forgiveness and acceptance.
An excellent, short story that did not feel like one. -
This review is for Sex Love Lust Hate, by Mika Jolie.
I don't have the words for how much I loved this book!❤️
Sex Love Lust Hate had me torn between wanting to race through its captivating story, or make it last as long as I possibly could. I Loved Jagger and Charlotte so much that they have now become two of my most favorite characters.
Forced to work together and compete for the same job promotion, Charlotte and Jagger brings sizzling sexy chemistry and tremendous heat to this amazing enemies-to-lovers romance.
Like many of Charlotte’s co-workers, Jagger thought that the only reason Charlotte had her job at the Marketing Company owned by her dad was because she was an entitled Princess. Their interactions with each other has always been chilly. Each of them wanted to proved that they were the most qualified person for the job, but after they started working closely together on the same project their feelings towards one another began to shifts from animosity to affection...That was when things got complicated. #Itscomplicated
Ms. Jolie has the unique ability to make her novellas read like full books. I loved the premise of the story. It was told in first person POV by Charlotte and Jagger. I felt this book was about Charlotte’s journey and the stereotyped-hurdles she had to crossed. I was really impressed at how smoothly the author was able to bring readers along for the transition. To some extent it felt like I was reading one of the books from the Martha's Way Series, except this story was set in NYC and was a little playful. It was nice to see some of our favorite characters like Hudson Baldwin from Intercepted Hearts, River Baldwin from Defenseless Hearts and Katherine Morello from Rules Of Engagement also made appearances in this book too.
Sex Love Lust Hate was an excellent read!! -
The Black Stetson by Verlene Landon
This had me glued to my seat; I loved this story. It’s a perfect length with a good plot and great characters. The author has such a wonderful way of writing that the story literally seemed to jump off the page.
Naughty Behavior Leah Holt
A great plot and characters that were intriguing and enjoyable to read.
Wow what a brill box set! There are so many wonderful stories included that it’s impossible to pick a favorite. Some are written by authors I’m reading for the very first time and others are by authors I’ve previously read. What they all have in common is that they have written some great stories that are in this box set. As the set is filled with individual stories it should be easy to read one then put the book down and take a break, well it isn’t that easy. I just couldn’t get enough of these stories and had to sit and read them all one after each other – brilliant box set!

Ever since her parent’s divorce life hasn’t been easy for Charlotte. She may work for her father’s company but despite what everyone else thinks she received the job based on skill and has to work harder to earn the respect not only of her father but her colleagues as well.
Jagger has never had anyone to depend on except for himself. He believes that Charlotte is entitled however when they not only find themselves competing for the same job but having to working together the sparks fly and it is only a matter of time before the antagonism between them bursts into a different kind of heat.
I have only had a chance to read the story from Mika Jolie so far but I am looking forward to reading the rest of the collection. -
My review for "Sex, Love, Lust, Hate" by Mika Jolie.
Just finished SLLH.
OH. EM. GEE. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
SOOOOOOOO GOOD! I love the chemistry between Jagger and Charlotte. Enemies in the workforce, fighting for the same promotion at work. Charlotte has more to prove, since her daddy is CEO of the company. Jagger wants something greater than himself, and hopes this promotion will springboard his career into illustrative arts.
But does love and work mix? Or will it turn into something Charlotte hopes never happens to her- hatred for the only man to make her feel alive and happy?
WOW!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 💜💙💜💙💜 -
My review is for 2 Books in this wonderful collection!
For Sex, Love, Lust, Hate by Mika Jolie
I was engaged from the very beginning with a storyline that was so well written and characters that were so well created that as the pages were turned the chemistry between Jagger and Charlotte kept me totally captivated until the turn of the very last page!
WITSEC and Whiskey by Allison Lafleur
Talk about a book that you can get immersed in, this book is it! The great character and plot development kept me totally glued to my kindle as the story unfolded and I had a hard time putting this book down until I finished reading the very last page! -

Jagger and Charlotte are competing for a job. They bicker and banter and underneath it all they are fighting the sizzling chemistry between them. When they are forced to work together, they get to know each other beyond the assumptions they have each made. They both have some baggage. They find that they are more alike than they thought they were, but like different sides of a coin. I loved reading as they gave into their chemistry and found their HEA. Their characters felt complete despite the novella length of the story. This is written in first person from dual POV.
I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an advanced review copy of this novella. -

Review for Rival: The Ace's #1
This is an extended edition of the series opener with a number of new scenes integrated seamlessly.
