Excerpt:___
Adam spent the next day mulling over Kathy’s proposition. He did laundry, mowed the lawn, even scrubbed the toilet, all the while pondering the pros and cons of her offer. By the end of the day, the house was in order, but his thoughts were still awry.___
Parked in front of the television, chewing on an overcooked frozen pizza, he looked toward Heather’s office. She had been there all day, never once engaging with him. He always thought of himself as a good guy. He didn’t want to hurt his wife, but didn’t he deserve intimacy? Not just sex, but someone to be with? He didn’t want to be lonely anymore.___
Needing a break from Heather’s keyboard sonata, he put down his plate and walked outside. The sunset was like Pavlov’s bell, bringing the memory of Kathy’s kiss. Her mouth was warm. Inviting. Promising. He pulled out his phone.___
“Kathy? I want something more.”
A Misty Shade of Red: A Short Story Reviews

A Misty Shade of Red is an intriguing story with a twist I didn't see coming. Very enjoyable.

An enjoyable short read.
I have been looking to read work of indie authors recently and came across Nannette Krietzman on Instagram. I haven’t read many novellas before, and was pleasantly surprised at the depth of character and plot that was brought to some 30 pages or so. An enjoyable short read… I’d certainly read more from this author. -
I'm truly amazed at the talent to put so much detail and emotions in such a small time span. A big fan of the author, she finds a way to completely engulf you in the story and then leave you with a thought-provoking aha twist. Bravo, again!

Enjoyed this well-written short story dealing with a sensitive topic that is seldom acknowledged. A plot twist and then the surprise ending crept up with a bang! Kudos to Kreitzman.
