Ayasha Morgan never knew how prejudiced her town was until her father passed. Grief-stricken, alone, and broke she turns to a mail order bride advert. Will it bring her the new life she needs?

Ayasha is part Chippewa-Cree Indian and part white. Protected by her powerful father, the town of Waverly let her be. Now he has passed, the town lets Ayasha know exactly how they feel about her. She has no family and no money, what can she do? In desperation, she answers an advert from an injured man looking for a bride.

Farmer Joe Warner was injured in a plowing accident. His younger sister has been caring for him, but Joe knows that she is putting her own life on hold. Maybe, if he got a wife, his sister would start to live again. A young half-Indian woman answers his advert but is this the end of Joe’s problems, or just the beginning?

The marriage is one misunderstanding after another, leaving them both frustrated and confused. Can Ayasha find help with the Chippewa-Cree or will this bring back the prejudice she ran from?

Is there a chance of happiness, or even love?

Will Ayasha and Joe allow fear to destroy the possibilities before them? Find out if Love can conquer Against All the Odds in the latest full-length novel from Bestselling Western Historical Author Indiana Wake.

The Indian Bride and the One-Legged Hero
    Indiana Wake

Ayasha is part Indian and part white woman, people call her half breed or injun.
They tell her to go back to her own people. She was born and raised in the same town as these others, they are cruel and hateful racist humans.

Her mother died when she was a young girl, now her father is very sick and he is going to pass away to. When he does the people of her town all turn from her. She tried to get work but the man basically told her to leave and not to come back because he doesn’t give charity.

Joe lives with his sister, he lost his leg in an accident a few years ago, he noticed his sister doesn’t do anything but care for him, he placed an advertisement for a wild to help her.

Will the Indian woman and the man with one leg work our together?

    Lovely

I just love the writing and talent of Indiana Wake. She masters thr time period and weaves interesting tales filled with challenges to values and the struggles of life. Clean romantic stories.

Wonderful, clean story of finding love in loss.

This is a great book about loss, grief, and prejudice. Loss of a limb can be a devastating thing. Being a Native American in the 1800's could, too. But love finds a way. Highly recommended for all readers.

Half Indian and lost and alone she seeks a place to belong it takes a lot of patience but everything in her world gets straightened out and family makes her heart new.

Enjoyed this book so much. I am a firm believer in love at first sight, and that true love can conquer all. Guess that makes me a romantic.

  • Donna Bagby

I enjoyed reading the story of Ayasha and Joe. Although their lives were turned upside-down they were able to come together because of a common need(self-worth, love). Issues: poverty, prejudice loneliness, family and romance.
