Have you ever wondered why we allow other people’s opinions to warp the view we have of ourselves? What if you could refocus on who God created you to be instead of where you fall short? How do you know beyond a doubt that you are on the path that feeds your passion and satisfies your soul?Journey into the past, examine the present, and receive encouragement to pursue your dreams and step into your purpose with a new Vision.ABOUT THE MERRY HEARTS INSPIRATIONAL SERIESSome use God's word to justify domestic violence, imprisonment, slavery, and systematic racism rather than preach peace, joy, salvation, and love. Throughout the Merry Hearts Inspirational series, readers will experience scripture as never before. Authors take one-dimensional Biblical characters and breathe new life into them to become relevant for the reader. Over time, many things have been misinterpreted, but the one important thing is that God’s grace isn’t just for men. Christ valued women so much. He had His most profound conversations with women. Christ performed astounding miracles through them, and following His resurrection, He appeared to the women first.Throughout scripture, God's love for women and everyone—no matter ethnic background or gender—may be found, from Genesis to Revelation. May you come to know His love in an authentic, tangible way. Each book in the Merry Hearts Inspirational Series is a standalone and can be read in any 1 – Journey – Lisa Dodson [Ruth and Boaz]Book 2 – Vision – J. Loved it

Wow! I loved this new release from J.L. Campbell. It was a pleasure to journey with the characters as they worked out their issues. A wonderful start to the series. Highly recommended.

The story starts out with Russell and his wife, Amoy going to a dinner hosted by Russell's job. Unbeknownst to Amoy, Russell has received a job promotion that would move their family from their family and friends in Jamaica to Miami, Fl. In order to process things, a DNA test might be needed on their two sons. What happens next will take the family and readers on an edge of your seat, emotional and exciting read.

Russ really irked my nerves from the beginning of the story until near the end. He had a lot of issues I felt he should have worked on before he got married. But in spite of the way his character acted, I really enjoyed the story and can't wait to read more from this author.

I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The series kicks off with Russell and Amoy. Russell takes a job that will take them overseas without consulting Amoy. Amoy has a career of her own that she isn't ready to give up and follow him across the globe. When Russell forgets that Amoy is his partner and not a dependent, it brings discord into the family.

This couple's journey deals with how a marriage survives past revelations, broken trust, and a shaken faith foundation. I love how the author used this couple's situation to show examples of when we find ourselves in a valley. We should remember the promises of God to get us to the breakthrough.

DNA is a well-written storyline with intriguing characters and a must-read!

    OMG what a Captivating story

I think this is my 1st book by this author. It will not be my last! This story was so gripping from the beginning. 1st of all, this is a quote married couple romance and quote which is a different read for me. This couple encounters so many obstacles... Let me tell you, I was frustrated with the both of them because it would be so easy for them to do what I want them to do. It's also such a testament to love and devotion and swallowing your pride for The good of the family, because I would have left ! 😃 That may be why I am still single …
    Fabulous job with this book.

    See what snooping gets

If you want to know something, go to the source. When you start looking for something hidden... make certain you are ready for what you find. Russell started to doubt his son's paternity and checked it out. The answer he received nearly toppled his relationship with his wife and family. Amoy was more patient than some under the conditions her husband forced upon them. Communication is key to situations like this couple found themselves entrenched in. I'm still not sure all was forgiven on both ends. A good story.....

This was a good read. It started off kind of slow. Russ got on my last nerve. Russ had a lot of past issues he needed to deal with. I think if he had dealt with them he wouldn't have brought them into their marriage. I love how Amoy's father and cousin was a great support for her. Amoy was a strong woman in dealing with her husband. I recommend this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

    Prayer Works

Sometimes we forget how past events or relationships affect our present relationships. In DNA the author, J.L. Campbell, displays how the non-relationship Russell had with his father was always in his way. The bitterness he held towards his father effected his marriage and almost destroyed his family. But with prayer and a conversation with God Russell realized his faults. I really enjoyed DNA and highly recommend it.

There’s this old saying, “ be careful what you go looking for because you just might find it.”

Russ and Amoy have a beautiful marriage and life with their two young boys, but Russ still isn’t satisfied. He’s haunted by a deep seated resentment from his childhood that threatens to ruin it all.

This was a really good story that evoked all types of emotions. The characters and plot are very realistic and I guarantee you know someone in your personal life who has experienced something similar.

    Loved it!

No better read than one based in love and God. I truly enjoyed Russell and Amoy's journey. The way the author wove each character together and apart truly made this a wonderful read. Each character was developed as the story went along. She as well, kept the story focused on family. The depth of which she took Russell, I think is what had me hooked. I can't wait for the next read. I truly enjoyed reading J L Campbell's work and will continue to be a supporting fan!

    An Inspiration

As a creative this book was a timely reminder that we are not alone in our desire to create work that is more than just a collection of stories and ideas but also our passion to create work that resonates with our audience through our specific God-given ‘talent’.
That we can ‘invest’ our ‘talent’ and time wisely to create work that honors and glorifies our Creator.

    A great read

I really enjoyed this book. It was different from some of her other work (I enjoy those too). The story between Russell and Amoy is so relatable. Lack of communication and not forgiving others can turn your life upside down but the author shows us that trusting God makes things better.

    Glad I read it

I enjoyed the journey of Amoy and Russ. Life has a way if teaching us lessons. The key is to learn from them.

I look forward to reading more from this author.

    Learning to love yourself

This book was good and uplifting. It reminded me of self help guide to learning to love yourself. It was really interesting

  • Janice M. Allen

I love the way J.L. Campbell writes. Great story.

  • U.M. Hiram

I loved the story line between Russell and Amoy Majors. It was pure, challenging and a roller coaster ride because insecurities came into play. Their love was almost tarnished; however, the remembrance of faith and God's agape love brought them from the cusp of relationship destruction. The author reminds couples that communication is key. Assumptions, misunderstanding and knee jerk reactions can dismantle relationships and families. Great inspirational read and I'm definitely looking forwarding to reading the rest of the books in this series. Happy Reading!

"Vision" by J.L. Campbell does exactly what it set out to do: it helps you to align with God's purpose for your life.

The book starts off with a bang — "I'm a child of adultery" — and it keeps your interest through each of the short chapters. Not only does J.L. share tidbits of her own life, she also includes scripture and just a hint of Bible study as she encourages you to "journey into the past, examine the present, and receive encouragement to pursue your dreams and step into your purpose with a new vision." (from the blurb).

This book will appeal to a wide range of readers who would like to focus more on doing the things they believe God placed them here to do.

What a beautiful reminder of God's grace and sovereign love. When I started reading this boo I was in need of a specific word and in this book was full of the exact words and analogy. I had to take my time reading so that I could HEAR what God was saying through J.L.. I appreciate the how the message was blended with snippets of transparency of her story. I absolutely needed to read this gem and I will be reading it again. BRAVO!!!! Thank you!
