Meghan Quinn never fails at making me laugh while reading. I laughed so hard in this book, but it also had the perfect amount of emotion. I loved the concept and I had a blast reading it.
Luna and Alec are both contestants in 'The Wedding Game' working to help with their brothers their dream wedding and a penthouse in NYC. Luna is excited. She had to convince her brother Cohen, and his fiancée Declan to do the show. For Alec, it's different. Alec's brother Thad has to beg him to join in for him and his fiancée, Naomi. There are three teams and a lot of different challenges. This part was so much fun to read about.
Luna is a life-long crafter. It's her passion and because of this, she has a leg up in the competition. Alec has no clue what he's doing. His team needs help desperately. Luna and Alec start out as enemies. They completely start out on the wrong foot, but with time, Luna can see how hard Alec is trying for his brother and the more time they spend together outside of the show, the more they start to fall for one another.
I enjoyed the romance in this story but I also really loved the family dynamic on both sides. It was great seeing Luna and her brother's relationship and how much they loved each other and supported each other. Alec and Thad's was more strained, but as the book went on there was growth. There was a conflict at the end that wasn't my favorite, but aside from that I really loved this books!
My favorite kinds of enemies to lovers books are the ones that go enemies, to friends, to lovers, and this book did just that. My favorite thing about The Wedding Game was the balance between hilarious and emotional. Overall, this book gave me just the right amount of feels and was so fun to read! Recommend for anyone who loves rom-coms. -
I know I'm not supposed to judge a book by its cover but I do it anyways and this one looks like it was designed by someone without an artistic bone in their body, while using a graphics program from the 90's. BUT I saw a couple of good reviews and I'd read too many sad books in a row so I wanted a light, happy change and I'm glad I went with this one.
It was fun and playful.
The characters were kinda immature but still witty. It's all quite PG-13 until the sexytime started. Suddenly it was MATURE CONTENT and the contrast was an 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 surprise. 3.5 ⭐
Obviously I don't know this author at all. Yet somehow she seems to know me....

A fun and cute enemies to friends to lovers story, which made me laugh!
The Wedding Game was like 'The Great British Bake off' but for DIY, crafty weddings! I love a bit of GBO, and this book was just what I needed to read alongside a darker book!
Luna, a crafting queen, convinces her brother and his fiancé Declan to compete on the TV show 'The Wedding Game.' Meanwhile Alec, a cynical divorce lawyer is reluctantly roped in to help support his brother Thad, and his fiancé Naomi win the title. As soon as Luna and Alec meet, they clash, but can they fight their growing attraction?
I almost didn't read this gem of a book, as I hadn't enjoyed a previous book by
Meghan Quinn, so thanks to
This review by Susanne for making me give this author a second chance! 😘
This book was light, fun, sweet and heart-warming, with just the perfect amount of angst to give me the feels. It was genuinely funny, and made me chuckle and snort a few times! Annnd it had a lovely slow burn romance, which developed into some very sexy scenes 🔥Alec aka Chris Evans was the perfect gorgeous, and slightly tortured hero, with a hidden heart of gold, and Luna was just such a warm, loveable character.
As much as I loved the romance, I also really enjoyed the other relationships in this book! The wonderful dynamics between Luna and her brother Cohen, and his partner Declan, the slightly shakier relationship between Alec, Thad and Naomi, which developed as the book progressed were awesome! I also loved the friendships! Farrah was one of my favourite characters, she was such a supportive friend to Luna, but was also hilarious! Can she have her own book please
Meghan Quinn?! Alec also had a close friendship with his co-worker Lucas, which was touching.
I smiled, laughed at Helen's (another contestant) antics, and teared up a few times, but also had to fan myself a couple of times too 😉
The only draw back for me, was Alec's brother Thad... Annoying doesn't even cover it! Immature and self obsessed, he didn't even apologise for some really hurtful things which he said to Alec about another family member. I know he had an awful childhood, so had to give him some credit for that, but he made me cringe and bristle! Also, as much as I enjoyed picturing Chris Evans as Alec, that comparison will certainly date the book.
If you're looking for a feel good book to make you swoon and laugh,
The Wedding Game is available on KU, and I definitely recommend! 👰🤵👰🤵 Stars! -

“The Wedding Game” is EVERYTHING a ROM-COM Should be and MORE!
Fun, Flirty, and Sexy!
It was a little steamy if you want to know the truth (yes, this girl was blushing a few times, but aside from that, I loved everything about it!).
Luna loves her brother Cohen and his fiance Declan desperately and she has always wanted to give them the world. After seeing an advertisement on tv for “The Wedding Game” she has the chance to do just that. Now the three of them have a chance to compete on tv to give the couple a dream wedding and a penthouse apartment in NYC.
Alec and his brother Thad aren’t as close as they used to be. As kids, Alec took care of his younger brother and basically raised him. Now, Thad is asking that Alec become a contestant on “The Wedding Game” with Thad and his fiancee Naomi in order to help the two achieve their dreams.
When Alec and Luna meet, the sparks fly. Both are supposed to be on opposite teams, so what happens when they can’t fight their attraction to each other?
“The Wedding Game” is a light, fun rom-com with a great premise. It is filled with laugh-out-loud moments and witty, sexy banter, both of which I love and think of as the perfect recipe for romance. The end of the novel got a little too steamy for this gal and had me covering my eyes and skimming through the fiery bits, but other than that, I’d say this was one of the best rom-coms I’ve read in ages.
4.25 Stars.
I grabbed this from Amazon “First Reads” for the month of February and am so glad I did.
Thank you to Amazon Prime for my copy.

I bounced hard on this one. Luna was hard enough to get past. I mean, DIY makes me tired so it's not going to be an appeal anyway. But Luna adds a whole layer of Manic Pixie Dream Girl to the mess and that put me off even further. I wanted someone to pull her aside and ask her, very kindly, to give it a rest, already. So when she completely ignores the warnings of her BFF that her brother already said no and he's not going to like it and she's all going behind his back while weaving a fantasy of "he's going to love me, he'll buy me pretty things, and I'll be the queen of the family" while she does and I'm wanting that someone to beat her with a clue stick until she matures enough to be let out-doors on her own.
And then we got to Alec, who is a selfish snot-weasel who has no interest in the scam that is "love" because he's all jaded and wise from protecting his brother from the callous abusers that were their parents. Is there a table somewhere with romantic hero origins on it? Because this guy feels like he was rolled up in an experimental love RPG by someone who rolled all ones on character creation. And to top it off, he's a divorce lawyer who only represents women because he wants to stick it to all the men like his father, the cheating dirtbag. Because that's a healthy career path.
Anyway, I dropped out early is what I'm saying. The characters are ridiculous and the plot is silly and I couldn't find anything I cared about. -
4.25⭐
Featuring ~ dual 1st person POV, lawyer, bedazzle queen, tv reality show, grump, sunshine, minimal steamage
Luna & Alec
These two do not get off on the right foot when they meet at the first taping of The Wedding Game. It's a classic case of judging a book by its cover, but once they spend more time together and get to know one another their fondness grows.
Most of the side characters were great, with a few exceptions as expected. Thad was quite something and you couldn't help but feel bad that he felt neglected.
This had it's fun moments and some I want to wring your neck moments. All in all, pretty delightful.

Sometimes I remember why I'm so picky when it comes to "cute and funny" romance novels, and that would be because I hate their voice more often than not. The issue with relying on humor is that it's just subjective and honestly, I've tried enjoying
The Wedding Game but I can't see that happening. I'm genuinely dreading reading more, I can't stand it, and I just don't have the time for that. I'm so ready to forget everything about this cheesy fest, ugh. DNF. -
I am bit disappointed with The Wedding Game. It is a romance story with reality TV and family drama as background. I was expecting hilarious family feud caught on camera. Instead Miss Quinn focusing only on the romance between Alec and Luna.
The romance is sweet and cute. But I want more of family feud. More family member acting like crazy. Some sort of Modern Family.
I still enjoy the book OK. Managed to finish it.

I had such a fun time with this book!
The concept of the wedding game, the bffs (Farrah & Lucas), the siblings and their partners (much 🥰 especially for Cohen & Declan + Naomi is an absolute 💎, Thad was OTT but I guess someone had to be a drama llama and he wore that suit a little too well 😅) ... the whole thing just hit right for me. Right book/right time for a fun steamy read 🙃
Soz I can't come up with a better review rn, dunno what's up with my inability to waffle today but I will say I had such a silly smile on my face for so much of this book so many interactions kept me grinning 😎
For a proper review and the one that brought this book on to my radar please check out fabulous Fran's thoughts
HERE, mahoosive thanx as always babes for bringing another fun read to my attention 🤩
PS - I would 100% pick up spin off books for Lucas & Farrah finding HEA...preferably not with each other as c'mon that's not likely (don't always love when this happens in books - spread the love y'all 😉). But would absolutely follow a story for each of them...just sayin 😆 -
I love romances that center around TV show competitions, but I’ve never read one about a DIY wedding competition! The Wedding Game is a fun, quirky rom-com from Meghan Quinn, featuring a DIY expert and a jaded divorce lawyer who compete to create the ultimate dream wedding for their brothers.
Luna loves her brother Cohen and wants the best for him and his fiancé. So when she see the chance to enter a competition to win a penthouse and dream wedding, she signs them up. With her DIY skills as the owner of a famous Etsy store, she’s sure to win. Alec is a hot-shot lawyer with a strained relationship with his younger brother Thad. Thad used to idolize Alec growing up, since Alec was the only one in their family to take care of him. But now, after leaving Thad to pursue his career and never checking back in, Alec feels guilty and wants a chance to mend their broken relationship. When newly engaged and soon-to-be father Thad asks Alec to join him on The Wedding Game, he can’t say no.
Luna and Alec’s romance is so much fun. It’s a great enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of banter and bickering, especially while they’re on set and fighting for the number one spot. I enjoyed the slow progression of their romance, and there was some good added drama with trying to keep their new relationship a secret from the TV crew and their brothers. Cohen, Thad, and their respective fiancé(e)s were also really entertaining! They brought so much humor and heart to the story. I didn’t mind at all that they almost stole the spotlight from Luna and Alec’s romance.
The Wedding Game is a great read if you want a light-hearted romance with strong family ties. It’s got a great cast of characters, some silly humor, and a whole TV show competition. Right now I’m really hoping we get a book for Luna and Alec’s best friends! -
Ugh, just no...
Wasted another First Reads pick on this one. Not romantic or comedic. 188 f-bombs, multiple uses of cursing in the Lord's Name and it deteriorates from there.
The writing is technically decent, so I can't bring myself to completely pan it, but I didn't find the characters particularly likeable or appealing.
The "romantic" couple spends time explicitly discussing their sexual preferences & personal anecdotes, including comparing "sexebitionist" exploits. The heroine shares about the time she dressed as a Christmas tree with only ornaments to cover her nipples. 🙄
If you find crudity & vulgarity funny, if you think romance is synonymous with porn level descriptions of sex, you'll probably enjoy this. If you've outgrown "naughty" humor, not so much -
Fun and sexy
Light, funny, and a little bit charming, this is quintessential Quinn with a touch of something new. It's tamer and more of a heartwarming comedy than her usual, leaning into the funny in the first half before shifting into a sweet - yet still very sexy - romance. Though it got off to a bit of a slow start for me (just because I wanted it to be more romance-focused), it transitioned into a very solid, subtle read. The humor is still prevalent throughout, but these strangers-turned-rivals become friends and then lovers. And don't let that cover fool you; this is still a sexy romance - it just takes a little longer to get there.
The story follows Luna and Alec, two strangers who find themselves in a wedding-focused competition because of their respective family members. While Luna is close with her family and just wants her brother to have the perfect wedding to the man of his dreams, Alec's family situation is different. As a divorce attorney who often sees the dark side of marriage, Alec has become jaded about love. And his own family relationships have suffered because of that. These two opposites clash from the start, competing against each other until their relationship slowly changes. It's not long before Alec starts to see the positives of love once again, and he may get more than he bargained for.
I'm a huge fan of Quinn's rom coms, and this was another great read from her. After seeing the cover, I wondered if this would be a departure from her usual, and it both IS and ISN'T. The feel is very much like her other books, with laugh out loud funny moments, a hero who becomes more endearing once you get to know him better, and a slow burn romance that gets a little steamy in the back half. But I would also say that it's more family-focused and perhaps lighter than what I've come to expect from the author, which took a little while for me to adjust to. I do think it's too long, but once the romance became more prominent, it completely won me over. If you're looking for a light, fun, and kinda sexy read, then look no further. -

I want to give this 5 starts, that's how much I enjoyed it. But by god, the hero's (divorce attorney Alec) brother (Thad) worked my last nerve. Just waaay too over the top for me! (Reminds me of the catcher in MQ's college baseball series whose name escapes me now...ah! Jason Orson-- but Thad was more annoying than Jason)
I loved the originality of this story. What an idea for a reality show! I'd watch it! I loved the humor in it. I loved the characters of Luna and Alec. Maybe I loved Alec a bit more...I loved their chemistry. Maybe I would've liked to see more of that heat spelled out on the page (because MQ can write a steamy scene), but I have a good imagination...
When MQ breaks up her couples, its usually gut wrenching. This was no different. I felt so bad for Alec and was quite pissed at Luna. I was also disappointed in Luna's brother and Alec's overly dramatic brother Thad. But hey, they worked it out (and happy to say it didn't take years) so all is forgiven.
Lastly...this should be a movie! I was imagining it in my head as I was reading, and this would make a sweet little rom-com. Is Chris Evans available?

Not what I expected
I really wanted to like this book. The summary drew me in, and I was set to enjoy a humorous romance.
The prologue should have given me a clue that one of the main characters was awful. Truly, completely awful. Not one to be deterred, I kept reading. Then the language slapped me in the face. I'm not a prude, and I certainly do my share of cussing; my problem was that it wasn't necessary for this story. A few words here and there, maybe, but this was way overdone. The story was cute, but completely formulaic and predictable. Finally, I spotted three proofreading errors in the first half of the book. Might need to find a new editor, Ms. Quinn. -
It really took me awhile to finish this book and to be honest I skimmed the end because this book was so boring. It easily could be 100 pages short because nothing really happened.
The plot seemed interesting enough, a reality show about weddings where the winner gets a penthouse plus the wedding. And an eniemies to lovers as well which is my fave btw.. but it all fell flat. I expected a little more angst with more push and pull between the MCs. I didn't feel their chemistry at all, the sparks were definitely missing. The H brother was beyond ridiculous and annoying, he was like a whiny baby and is the big part of this 2 stars rating.
Also isn't it against the rules for contestants to help each other outside of the show? That was really weird and I hoped the story would go in different direction. -
random ramblings;
🎀this book would be perfect for a tv movie!!
🎀annoying female narrator
🎀like the storyline
🎀 a lot of funny moments -
I love everything MQ writes, and this book was so inherently her, yet so DIFFERENT at the same time. It was just flat out hilarious!!
So the premise is that Luna and Alec, along with their respective family members, will participate on the game show "The Wedding Game" in order for their siblings to win the wedding of their dreams. For Luna this is a chance to help give her brother and his adorable fiance the wedding they have always but thought they could never afford (or legally have) and for Alec, this is all about reconnecting with the brother the essentially raised. Family is such a big theme in this book, and that takes precedence over the romance, but it was done in such a beautiful and authentic way. I loved the competition and the rivalry, and what quickly became an enemies to lovers romance turned into something so genuine and beautiful. You find early on that Alec isn't the usual unfeeling divorce lawyer he pretends to be, but is harboring so much guilt and resentment over his childhood, that he ended up pushing away the one person be loves most. I LOVED seeing him and Thaddeus reconnect -- that definitely brought a tear or two to my eyes!
The romance between Alec and Luna is definitely a slow burn, but I loved the slow, exquisite torture between these two! The sexiness is just as prevalent here as it is in Meghan's other books, but it's almost softer and more mature in this case. These two characters grew so much throughout the book, and I loved their individual evolution so much, and I loved how much they loved one another.
The comedy was on a whole other level in this book too!! I always love this authors quirky sense of humor (seriously, to live a day in her brain would be so much fun!!) And I was just busting out laughing the entire book! This was definitely the feel good romance I so desperately needed!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

I swear this author can write ANYTHING!! I definitely needed this feel good, hilarious romance!!

Genre Romantic Comedy
Meghan Quinn has crafted another HILARIOUS romantic comedy with THE WEDDING GAME! You guys!!!! I loved this book so much! It’s hilarious, lighthearted, and so unique! Competing for a fabulous penthouse in NYC would be a dream to anyone and Meghan really does a wonderful job when it comes to brining these dreams a reality for her characters! Not only is this book delightfully funny and unique but it has a gorgeous romance that starts out a little shaky. OH MY! I loved the enemy’s vibes and the misunderstandings that prompted the relationship between Luna and Alec. It was so much fun to watch! Seeing them argue, make digs at each other, and even BARK to be left alone had me giggling uncontrollably! It’s just such a fun book and I know many readers are going to adore it!
If you’re in the mood for a fun and fresh read, grab this one! You don’t regret it! -
5 Solid Stars
This has been one of the best enemies to lovers books I have read in such a long time. This had everything I love about a book. Humor that had me rolling on the floor, witty banter, tender moments, and a bit of angst.
I absolutely ate this story up of Luna and Alex! And the secondary characters made it so much sweeter. Definitely a gem and going on my favorites of 2021! -
Assolutamente consigliato XD -
This book was entertaining but nothing memorable, it had quite a few funny moments but it fell flat.
It is a wedding competition where the MCs are in oposing teams.
I thought there were going to be pranks or a little bit of sabotaging the challenges.
But it was the opposite.
The h bonded with the H by helping his team try to win the challenges; maybe it’s because I am a competitive person, but that didn’t sit right with me 🥴
And also I was expecting lots of cutesy and adorable interactions, since the plot is based around weddings, but the book was more centered in family relationships than on romance.
In fact, I could barely connect with the H and h’s relationship. -

Craft extraordinaire Luna signs her brother and his fiancé up for The Wedding Game reality show to win them not only a wedding, but the chance at a Manhattan apartment. Luna knows she’ll kick butt since crafting is her specialty. She will win, no ifs, ands or buts.
Alec’s younger brother and his pregnancy fiancée have to practically beg him to take part in The Wedding Game with them. Alec is a divorce attorney and is the furthest thing from a romantic. But Alec wants to be closer to his younger brother, so he agrees.
Luna and Alec get off on completely the wrong foot. Alec is rude and mistakes Luna for a PA and Luna can’t help but give him a big dose of sass. Now the two of them are forced to spend every weekend competing and filming together—the game is on.
But when Luna & Alec get to know each other outside of the show, they realize they misjudged one another at first. And by helping one another rather than working against each other, something real forms between them. Their real prize at the end of the competition could actually be true love...
The Wedding Game by Meghan Quinn is a standalone rom-com. The premise of this sounded terrific and I was hooked right away—I love a good enemies to lovers story. I loved Luna’s character—she was the perfect blend of realist and quirky. Alec was a jerk from the get-go but was a real softie under his hard exterior. This didn’t quite feel like a MQ book to me, or at least not what I was expecting. It read much more like a fluffy traditionally published romance versus the cheeky indie romances she generally writes. At almost 400-pages, this felt entirely too long so I wish it was shortened. I didn’t love the progression of Alec & Luna’s relationship, but I definitely didn’t dislike them together. While this was cute, it didn’t meet my MQ expectations. 3.5/5 stars. -
This shit was cute and Alec is a softie 😭🥰
More on this later. RTC! -
I loved this book! And I am going on record as asking-no DEMANDING—that Meghan Quinn write the romance of Luna's roommate, Farrah, because she is my favorite character and I adore her! Okay, that demand was kind of a dick move, but PRETTY PLEASE?
I've read other "TV Competition" Romances and most of them suffer from going into insanely intricate detail about the challenges and process of each item made for the challenge. And it gets to be way too much! But THE WEDDING GAME has the perfect amount of detail about the competition without it becoming the sole focus of the story.
I loved Luna and Alec! Their relationship is so fun to read as it changes from Enemies to Lovers. And This book has realistic problems that are complex (but not too heavy) that give you just enough drama to dig into while this book still being a light and fun read!
And I absolutely LOVED the LGBTQ representation in this book! Two of the three teams in this Reality Competition are same-sex couples and Meghan Quinn does NOT shy away from joking and barbing about the stereotypes surrounding the LGBTQ community! But the jokes are never at the expense of the LGBTQ couples (are that community in general). We are laughing WITH them, not at them. I snort-laughed more than once at the hilarious quips about these couples!
In the end you get a satisfyingly sweet and swoony romance that comes with the level of steam this author always brings to the table (READ: a lot of perfectly steamy steam)!
This book was a delight! Funny, fun, sexy, and smart!

YEAR OF SMUT CHALLENGE -
I still enjoyed this, but it had a different vibe than I’m used to from Meghan Quinn.
Set during a televised competition, opposing teams are challenged each round to ultimately create a dream wedding. With her bedazzled fashion and skill in crafting, I adored Luna and her competitive edge. The initial banter and feud shared with Alec—a divorce attorney convinced by his brother to compete—was feisty and hilarious! I was immediately sold.
Unfortunately I lost a bit of interest after the halfway point. This was a very family focused story, with both Luna and Alec each having a brother to bond with. I really enjoyed seeing those relationships become shaken and rebuilt, but I lost the spark in the romance along the way.
The crafting element was definitely fun and original, and I love romances centered around a competition, so overall this was a really cute story. It’s just not my favourite from Meghan Quinn!
