Fate doesn't use dating apps to pair true mates...except when it does.

Human Omega Colin Soames has finally made it. Investors are clamoring for his new hit dating app and then things get weird. Now he's on a mission to figure out who's co-opting his app and why; by going undercover as a potential date. Little does he know that the oddities he discovered weren't designed to sabotage the app as he first thought. No. Shifters have figured out a way to use it incognito, and he's about to go on a date with one. If only he knew shifters existed outside of fiction.

Pack Alpha Bentley Shaw likes being single. He doesn't have to answer to anyone but his pack. He likes it that way even if he is lonely and even if his wolf is restless. Why bother putting your heart out there if you are only going to get hurt? One day he caves, letting his Beta talk him into trying the new dating app all the shifters are using--just once. How bad could one date be? It couldn't be worse than the time he tried to date a human--except that's exactly what Love and Hate sends him.

Sparks fly, feelings grow, and their worlds are turned upside down in the very best of ways.

Matched To His Wolf is the first book in the sweet with knotty heat Dates of Our Lives M/M Mpreg Shifter Dating App romance brought to you by the popular co-writing duo of Lorelei M Hart and Colbie Dunbar. I tried

I trudged through half of this book before giving up. The two MCs have nothing in common, and little chemistry. They can't manage to hold a conversation at their first date. They have sex anyway because they smell good to each other and no other reason. Then, they're obsessed.with each other because... fated mates, I guess.

Benton is an overbearing asshole at every opportunity, then spends the rest of the first half of the book ignoring Colin and trying to convince himself it won't work. Colin does a little stalking and tries to stand up for himself, so I don't hate him, but. There is no romance here. No falling in love, at least in the first half of the book, and no indication that these guys would be good together in any way. Actually, the opposite.

Even after their first date, I wanted to tear my hair out about how stupid they were being and how wrong for each other they are. Who thought this was a good idea? I kept going, hoping it would get better. It didn't. I thought I should hang on so I'd know what happened for later books in the series because I often enjoy Hart's books, maybe just skim it.

    I couldn't do it. It's too bad.

Wow! What an incredible start to a series!

Love these guys! The two of them are so different but yet so perfect for one another. Love the story and especially for all the humor this story contained and the scorching hot sex was pretty awesome as well! This book was a winner all round!

I have no idea how anyone who's actually read the book could give it 5 stars.

There's no real chemistry between the characters and they don't seem to suit each other as partners in any way.

It was the classic instant attraction, f**king, pregnancy, one guy runs away, the other one get pissed about it, secrets are shared, they make up, eternal love and devotion. It was boring with no real development of the characters or a decenct plot. It was uneventful.

Another problem is how the shifter world works in this book that didn't sit right with me. I can't really pinpoint it all right this moment, but the way Bentley was constantly talking about the "human way" of doing things bothered me. Guy has lived as a human for decades, why is this a problem?
And despite all his love for Bentley, Colin keeps worrying about his significant other suddenly turning all wolfey in public. The lack of trust really bugged me.

I wouldn't recommend this read, there are tons of better shifter romances out there.

Considering this was a series starter, I was a little confused by being expected to know or care about all these other people that were added without much of an introduction, just like I was apparently expected to know how the mythology works without much of any kind of world-building in a first book. This doesn't appear to be a spin-off from some other series, so world-building is kind of required.

Also, what's with the "can't mate with a human" BS?

    Meh.

This was book 1 in "The Dates of Our Lives" series. Omega Colin Soames is the inventor of a new dating app when he realizes that someone is getting in and using the app he decides to test it by going on a date. Pack Alpha Bentley Shaw continues to be hounded by his beta Rob to go on a date so he agrees. When these two Colin doesn't know what to think of the hot sexy Alpha that is his date. Brantley can't believe that his wolf wants the human he is on the date with. This was a pretty good read these two hook up and Brantley leaves which hurts Colin's feelings. Brantley is having a hard time believing that Colin is his true mate. While out on another date with Brad who is a bear shifter Colin runs into Brantley. When he realizes that he is pregnant he goes back to the bar and tell Brantley. It was funny when Colin saw Brantley in his wolf form the first time. This was a good read this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

    Ummm

So I don’t know what to say here. Was it a good book yeah, was the story good yeah so why the 3? I’m a little confused on the Attitudes of the all the characters. I don’t understand their reactions to situations. Still not sure I have my head wrapped around what really happened in the woods and how it’s part of the story. The smexy was ok. Quick, and the side characters had just as confusing reactions

This blurb sounded INCREDIBLE! I was so excited for this but the execution was TERRIBLE!

    1) This is the first in a series but the story reads as if I should know stuff already. I equate this issue to an author(s) knowing what they are imagining but just being unable to describe it. This sounds harsh but I bet when the authors reads the chapter their imagination and knowledge of the world is automatically filling in the blanks. A good editor should have helped with this.

    2) The MCs relationship was atrocious. Why is this alpha of a wolf pack so completely incapable of communication? Maybe the authors could have added clarity by saying that they never deal with humans or what not but all those details, if present, get glossed over.

I definitely don't want to shame this book because it was such a great idea and I really see a ton of potential. I think it really just needed that reader/editor/family member to say I like what you have but it needs more details and more context in a lot of places.

    This one was a bummer!

    Meh! Much Less than Expected

The idea behind the story shows potential but this book does nothing to benefit that storyline. Two authors, and neither one was capable of providing character development or plot background sufficient to pull this mess together. I got the feeling the authors had a complete story-and-worldview in their heads and were unable to put that into words for the rest of us.

The more I read, the less invested I became in any of the characters until I finally just quit. My advice is leave this one the shelf.

I am quoting another reviewer' "This is the first in a series but the story reads as if I should know stuff already."
    Exactly!!!!
I finished it but had to make myself. The first half was really bad. I was lost in understanding and in interest. My mind wandered.
It was not a captivating enjoyable read; at all.
    Spoiler maybe:
How do you go from hating every minute of your date to "Lets go vo-dee-o-dodo at my place"?
    I would not recommend it.
I don't understanding the high ratings or people recommending.

Good start to a new series!

This book was slightly confusing to me until I figured out that two seperate world buildings had been spliced into one book. For the humans the world building is A/B/O non-shifting mpreg. The human alphas have knotts and the human omegas get slick with out lube and have babies. But as they don't shift, they don't know that shifter are real. The shifters live integraded with the humans. They have a pack alpha and omega and the regular shifter dynamic of A/B/O shifter mpreg. But they don't normally mate with the human A/B/O. Colin is a human omega who has made a dating app called Love or Hate. It has been his baby for the last two years and it's been getting great reviews, but he has noticed some anomalies in the app. Trying to figure out who might be behind it, he makes some dummy profiles and ends up going on a date. He meets Bentley, who is a shifter and the pack alpha, not that Colin knows that. Bentley recognizes that Colin is his fated mate but he is in denial because he's human. They do share one night of passion, which will have consequences down the road. Fate is determined that they will be together. I didn't get to read the blurb before starting this book so it took me a while to figure out that the humans were non-shifting alphas, betas, and omegas. I kept telling myself as I was reading that humans wouldn't know that or they couldn't do that. I think I was about halfway through the book when it dawned on what they were. I went ahead and reread the first half and it made so much more sense. I did like Colin a lot more than Bentley though. For being the pack alpha he did an awful lot of running away from his problems and shifting into his wolf form so that he didn't have to deal with them. It seemed kind of childish for someone who runs the pack. Honestly I think the story would have been better if the humans were only human and not human A/B/O. Overall though, I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next one. Especially now that I know what the world building is. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

  • Hope Bennett

I'm not giving this one a star rating.

The premise of this story is incredible and I was so excited to read it.

At first, I was enjoying it but I did have to stop and check whether this really was the first in the series because I felt like there was a lot of information I was expected to know and didn't.

For example, the fact that this is an omegaverse where there are alpha/omega humans. Also, hidden among those humans, are alpha/omega shifters. This caused me a lot of confusion and could have been cleared up by writing that in one sentence in the blurb or making it clear in the opening chapter.

The other thing that confused me were the side-characters who were supposed to be important to the MCs. They were repeatedly mentioned and yet I have no idea who they are. I can't remember if Colin had a best friend with a husband as well as a brother with a husband or whether they were the same people, only with a parrot. I know somebody had a parrot but I don't know which of the MCs knew them.

There were hints of an incredible story here but I was confused throughout and read to the end in the expectation that it would all become clear. It didn't.

At times, I didn't know whose POV I was in.

I am one of those readers who is totally prepared to let characters in a romance get away with not acting rationally or making daft decisions (because, you know, drama) as long as it pays off. This one tested my patience, though. I felt like the characters were deliberately trying to misunderstand each other and I didn't buy into the heartache.

I admit to being disappointed with this book because I so wanted to enjoy it. For me, it just needed to be clearer what exactly was happening and why.

  • Red Talisman

    Another entertain read!

Colin and Bentley were a blast to read, both had very funny POVs and very clear unique voices. I felt their chemistry and loved them as a couple. It was nice to see their relationship grow with an implied process from attraction to affection to love while they were both getting to know each other, specially with the whole shifter thing being a heck of a revelation. TBH Bentley gave me more of a bear vibe, but that's ok.

At times their relationship and the story felt a little wonky, unbelievable, too crazy... like... nobody of sane mind would do something like they did, even without knowledge of shifters or human customs. And considering how common the shifter stories are irl, it felt a bit silly for Colin (also taking the soap opera into account) to be panicking about shifter "rituals" or biological terrors nightmares. Or that Bentley acts, at times too creepy or overbearing, even for someone unused to humans and their behaviours.

Despite that, like 80% of the book went by flying for me, weirdly the last few chapters didn't, they actually dragged on a little. I found myself wishing to see the Epilogue or Next in the series page... quite some at chapter 29. There were lose ends to tie up, true, but I felt they could've been delt more efficently so as not to feel like word count fillers.

Other than that. I had fun with their internal monologues, the secondary characters, that freaking soap opera. The simple plot lines and endearing moments of romantic bliss... or hot and sexy moments of bliss. I give this book a 3.5 (4 cause... goodreads isn't friendy to a simple ".5" on their rating system) and a "totally recommend" + a "will probably read again soon".

  • Mikki James - Peters

Colin, a human omega created a dating app where each applicant provides one love and one hate. But lately he has noticed something going on with his app - it seems that someone has access. However, Colin cannot figure out why someone is doing this - what could their motive be? Alpha Bentley is the alpha of his pack and is single. He was recently deemed alpha after a tragic accident took his parents from him. Lately though his Beta is convinced he needs someone to help him run the pack and balance him out. His beta knows just how to do it and signs Bentley up with an app and makes sure he will only be paired with shifters. But due to Colin's code-cracking Bentley ends up on a date with Colin himself. He's completely resigned his date his human but it doesn't stop his wolf from shouting mine...but now how can he keep him?

This was a sweet romance between Colin and Bentley. The only thing I thought was odd was how hostile shifters are to humans. When Colin goes into the shifter bar and he feels immediately unwelcome and they all but force him out; I've just never seen so much hatred from shifters to humans. Despite this though the connection between these men was cute and I enjoyed the chemistry they had together. I would recommend this book!

    PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

    To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
    Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
    'Liberty' from Seth King),
    it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
    Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
    it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
    It's like an B+

    3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
    maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

    2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
    it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
    line, dismissed, repeat the class

When someone starts messing with the dating app he's developed, Colin decides to try to find them by rigging the app to match him to some of the intruder profiles. He's wasn't expecting that his attraction to his first match. Bentley has managed to grow his pack's finances, but now his beta is pushing him to dating. He wasn't expecting to get matched with a human, but as much as he may try to fight it, his wolf is sure he's met his mate. I'll admit most of the story was very predictable, but it was still an enjoyable story. Colin and Bentley certainly had some issues to overcome with one being a shifter and one being human, but the chemistry between them was strong.

This series is a bit of a followup to the
Love at Blind Date series. Although you don't necessarily have to read that series first, this story would make more sense if you have (especially
Blind Date for Father's Day ).

    Soap Opera Shifter Style

I found this story entertaining. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It's a fun book about a Dating App for Humans that is hijacked by a Shifter. There are dire and hilarious consequences. The Omega is Human seemingly tough, most certainly determined, much like the Alpha Wolf shifter who was equally determined to shut up his pack by finding a mate even if it meant using that stupid App.

He knew there was no way his pack would him allow to mate a Human. It just wasn't done. But how could the Alpha stop his strong attraction to the Human Omega. Then suddenly the Alpha was called into a meeting with the Pack Elders. Word had gotten back to them about his interest in a certain Human. He knew he should have just let them set him up with a Wolf Omega from an advantageous arranged mating. This ridiculous fated mates nonsense was nothing but a fairy tale. Otherwise why weren't they running into each other's arms instead of running away in confusion and terror.

Looking forward to the release of the Second Book in The Dates of Our Lives series.

    Loved Matched to his Wolf

I'm enjoying the series and I really loved this story(Colin's story). It had all the elements I like in an alpha/omega shifter romance( the sassy omega and the brooding alpha). The instant connection between Colin and Bentley after their initial meeting was intense. They couldn't help but be fated mates. Their road towards a relationship was mix with a lot of miscommunication, some fears/insecurities, some laughs(their banter was funny) and some HEAT. The best thing about these books(some ppl might disagree) is the mpreg element. It''s enjoyable to watch the guys going through the mood swings/hormones/protective instincts during the pregnancy. Colin was cute and sassy...best scene was when he busted thru the bar and yelled "I'm pregnant!"...classic and hilarious. These two guys were a good match and I can't wait til the next story with the bear!

Troppo lungo e raccontato in modo noioso.

Mi dispiace molto perché ero lanciata così bene nel genere e questo libro ha bloccato la voglia. Magari torno ai semplici MM. Senza Paranormal.

Torno agli Shifters più in là! Forse!
