Georgie Buchanan doesn’t know the first thing about running a brewery—she doesn’t even like beer—so she’s thrown when her grandfather leaves his business to her and her three siblings. Selling Buchanan Brewery would be the prudent approach, and while Georgie is, first and foremost, a businesswoman, keeping it might be her best chance of connecting with her half-brother, Jack. But she quickly learns that what she thought was a fixer-upper is a money pit, the employees are all eccentric to the extreme, and her inheritance comes with a shocking catch. Her one hope for success lies with River Reeves, the handsome brewmaster who learned at her grandfather’s feet...if she can avoid falling for him.
After learning his best friend and boss is selling the brewery they built together to a soulless corporation, River quits on the spot, only for Georgie Buchanan to offer him a job the very same night. Helping her turn Buchanan Brewery around is his dream job, the perfect homage to the man who taught him everything and helped give him roots. There’s one problem: his new boss is his dream woman, and she’s not the type to mix business and pleasure. Balancing a new job, a new puppy, and a growing infatuation with his boss, River knows something has to give.
If Georgie has any luck at all, she’ll be able to turn Buchanan Brewery around without losing her mind or her heart. But as River helps her weather everything from her uncle’s possessed cat to a séance, she realizes she might be wishing for the wrong kind of luck.

Any Luck at All is book one in the brand new Ashville Brewing series by Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella. I first noticed this cover, it caught my eye right away. Once I read the blurb, I was all in! Each book in this series will focus on one of the four Buchanan siblings, Georgie, Adalia, Lee and Jack. Each one of these four intrigues me, all obviously have such a story to tell. First up is Georgie and I can honestly say that I fell so in love with her.
Georgie Buchanan is thirty three years old. She was raised by a cold hearted, controlling father. Georgie and her siblings never were allowed to get to know their grandfather, Beau Buchanan, but just a few months ago, Georgie had managed to visit him in Ashville and they got to know each other. Georgie was also able to tour the brewery her grandfather had founded and run his entire life. Now, her grandfather has unexpectedly passed. While everyone assumed the brewery and house would all go to Georgie’s father, Beau’s son, it didn’t. Everything was left to the four kids. Georgie felt such a connection with her grandfather and she wants this chance to honor him and run the brewery. Even if she doesn’t know a single thing about beer. Personally, she prefers wine! But it feels like it’s the right thing to do.
River Reeves is thirty years old and is unexpectedly out of a job. He learned everything there is to know about making beer from Beau Buchanan who was a mentor to him. Losing him was painful. But when he saw Beau’s granddaughter at the will reading, he felt it immediately, a pull to her. As the shock of inheriting the brewery wore off, it was obvious they needed a brewmaster and River needed a job. Was it all coincidence, or could it be fate?
“For the first time in her life, Georgie had found a man she was sure she could love.”
The connection between Georgie and River was immediate and strong. Something neither of them had ever felt before. But Georgie is now River’s boss. The brewery has been floundering for some time. Everything needs updating. Georgie also feels the stress of proving she was right in taking over the business instead of selling it off. Their relationship will have to remain professional only. Except that she feels like she might be missing out on the love of a lifetime.
“River liked her just the way she was. It wasn’t safety she craved from him, it was peace.”
This book is the perfect mix of hilarity and sweet. Wait until you meet Aunt Dottie and her crystals. She is hilarious but also, so intuitive. She always seems to know just what to do. And there are countless other eccentric residents who make this so much fun. But there is also so much heart. Both Georgie and River have had childhoods lacking in love. Despite it all, they both grew into adults with so much to give. River is pretty much perfect as Georgie often tells him. And Georgie tries so hard to be strong. I loved watching her fall in love.
If you want a book that will make you smile, giggle, sigh and maybe even swoon, this is for you. I feel like I should say here, that there aren’t any steamy scenes in this. It’s more of a fade to black. Usually I prefer a book to be a little steamy. But for this, I didn’t miss it at all. I can’t wait for the next book, Better Luck Next Time, which will be Adalia’s turn.
“Two people who fit like this? It was kismet. And that didn’t come along more than once in a lifetime.”

I am so impress. This is my first read by these 2 authors. The story is more rom com but with an interesting twist and drama. I am surpise that this book does not received enough exposure. The story is very entertaining.
Georgia is a type of heroine who suddenly get a brewery inheritance in her lap. With no knowledge whatsoever about brewery she formed a business relationship woth River, the hero. Soon enough these two formed a romantic feeling toward each other.
The authors done a good job bringing a lot of humor into the banter. I do feel like sitting in the family drama that about to explode. Very entertaining.

What an adorable RomCom! It’s been awhile since Denise has released a RomCom and now I remember exactly why I’ve loved all her previous ones! She does such a great job of balancing humor with lightheartedness and romance. A.R. Casella and DGS write seamlessly together and I thoroughly enjoyed the book from beginning to end. We begin with an introduction to the Buchanans and right away I wanted to know more about this family. Why is Georgie’s relationship with them so strained? Then we’re introduced to River and his very amusing Aunt Dottie, along with the rest of the quirky characters that either worked at Buchanan Brewery or cared for Beau, and I knew this would be a fun read. Add in some animal love, with puppies and a “devil” cat, and I was sold. I laughed at Dottie’s antics throughout the entire novel. The entire seance scene was gold! Watching River and Georgie fight for their HEA was heartwarming and sweet. They complemented each other so well and I loved that River got to introduce Georgie to his brewery world. I also enjoyed Georgie’s sister, Adalie, and can’t wait for her book next! Great start to a new series!

A new romance is brewing in Asheville, NC! Fans of Denise Grover Swank will not be disappointed in this new series co-written by Denise and AR Casella.
When Georgie Buchanan and her siblings inherit their estranged grandfathers brewery, they must decide if they want to run the business or sell. Georgie is a tenacious business woman who is up for the challenge of turning around the faltering Buchanan Brewery. However, while she knows the business world, she doesn't know anything about beer. She hires River, who just happened to learn his brewing techniques from her grandfather. The attraction between Georgie and River is strong, but quite a few obstacles stand in the couples way. My favorite part is the cast of diverse and eclectic characters that drew me into the Asheville Brewery world. I had so much fun laughing at the antics of Dottie, Josie and Lurch. I recommend this book for fans of Kristan Higgins' Blue Heron Series and anyone who enjoys romance with great characters and lots of humor. -
Georgie Buchanan and River Reeves are most definitely made for each other. Their passion, their connection, their communication - is exactly the foundation needed for a relationship. Albeit a fast, whirlwind of a romance.
When Georgie stands her ground of wanting to own her grandfathers brewery, even though her family wants to sell, she’s then left with figuring out how to make this work. She meets River and knows he is what she needs to make the brewery successful, so she jumps at the opportunity presented to her.
River, while having a rocky past, is such a sweet man. He’s the kinda guy you want in your court and to not betray. I loved the realness of his character.
The last 40% of the book felt slightly rushed but we still got the cute happily ever after for Georgie and River. There was definitely a whole lot of crazy but most of it made you chuckle because these characters are ones like you’ve never seen before. There are many hooks that have me wanting to read the next three books for the siblings NOW and it’s not a cliffhanger by any means. But I want and need more.
I think everyone should give this new series a chance, because with any luck at all, you won’t regret reading it either. -
What a great start to what I believe is going to be a fabulous series by DGS and her new co author. This first book sets up most of the storyline for the series set in Asheville NC and centres on Georgie and River. Georgie's grandfather has left his four grandchildren his brewery and it's Georgie who wants to make a go of it and turn the brewery into something special again. She needs help from her siblings but more importantly, she needs River's guidance and know how on crafting beer. Of course, with any DGS rom-com there is a lot of humor and goofy moments which will have you giggling along the way. This first book has all of the above, but also a sweet and insta love story between Georgie and River, who was so swoony. There's an adorable dog, and a wacky cat that gets up to mischief. If you are looking for a fun and lighthearted read, grab this one, you can't go wrong.

What an adorable start of I believe to an amazing series! I love all of Denise Grover Swank Books and no exception for her RomCom series which are phenomenal and they are beautifully written. Any Luck at All cowritten with A.R.Casella is amazing, so nicely balanced humor and romance.
I did not expect that book about brewing beer could be such a sweet and heart touching yet it is!
I enjoyed every minute spent in this book. Both authors made an incredible seamless job writing Georgie and River's love story filled with love, fun, hilariously crazy moments that keep you giggling throughout all the twists and turns. If anything could go wrong it will!
Georgie and River they are just perfect for each other instantly. River is swoonworthy! Such a great man. I loved both main characters and all the weird combination of other characters especially River's aunt Dottie. She is the best! I have to mention adorable pup Hops and crazy cat Jezebel too!
Now I'm struggling to wait for the next installment but I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a really good romance comedy. -
Swoon!
I wasn't expecting so much sweetness from a book about a brewery but my goodness I love I these characters!
Why can't every guy be more like River? I wanted to hug him so many times. And sweet Georgie. Love her and her heart. My heart hurt for them at times but they really are perfect for each other. That ending was seriously perfect.
Josie trying to pop the bubbles was everything. This cast of characters is hilariously weird. I'm very intrigued! They're crazy and kooky and I can't wait for more of them! -
This book is a awesome start of an amazing RomCom series! 😍
An estranged Grandfather leaves his grandchildren his home and brewery. They don’t have one bit of knowledge on running one so determined Georgie decides to make it a success in his memory while trying to bring her siblings together. She of course can’t do it alone so she hires River who is not only perfect for for the company but perfect for her.
Third person point of view threw me off at first as I’m not used to reading these types. Took me a good chapter to get into the flow but the story makes up for it 😊.
I completely fell in love with River. His personality was way too addictive to not love. He’s not your typical cocky man but sweet, sometimes vulnerable and a completely loyal tall dark and handsome man.
Georgie is successful, confident and has a good head on her shoulders. Both with past emotional baggage due to their parents.
You get to see if they get past their fears and give in to each other. I couldn’t avoid having my heart melt for them.
I just loved the growing relationships and quirky personalities in this story. Between the differences with the Buchanan siblings, the employees, crazy Aunt Dottie and the evil cat, this is constant entertainment and laughs.
Now I’m stuck here waiting for the next one to release and I can’t wait!
No cliffhanger but this will surely make you have a strong attachment that you want to see their stories continue.
You won’t regret picking up Any Luck at All, you don’t need luck to fall in love with the people of Asheville Brewery! ❤️
(I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. The opinion given is mine alone and not influenced by anyone else.) -
I love to read Denise's books. Her new co-writer is a great new twist. I really like how this book flowed with both writers.
I love everything about this one. Asheville NC is right down the road from my house so I also like that I can see that she put the work in to making this book seem like I was there.
Georgie and River are great together. You don't know what they are going to get into with everything they have going on. The romancing...WOW. They had some heat. I was all for them to be a team.
Georgie's family. Like all of them you have your good and bad. The people you want to see in this books make great comedy. Everyone will love Dottie. She has you laughing after you are done reading the book.
The end makes you feel like you accomplished everything with them. I think that it also has a few moments that make you realize that you can do things if you have the will to get it done.
This book was one you want to stay up all night and read. I haven't done that in awhile. I am happy that Denise and A.R have started writing this series. I can't wait for the next book. -
This lighthearted rom-com is just the right mixture of witty, fun and sweet romance. I adored Georgie and River!!! They really are perfect for each other and the way they instantly click jumps off the page. Sometimes instant attraction in rom-com's feel forced, but the author’s make this feel natural and right. They complement each other and are there for each other right from the start. You could tell River was passionate about his beer brewing and eager to teach Georgie. He wants the brewery to succeed just as much as her.
This book will keep you entertained from the get go. I laughed so much from all the crazy antics, mostly caused by Aunt Dottie and a few other quirky characters.
The story flows smoothly and you wouldn’t know that it is co-written. I’m still trying to figure out which author wrote what, lol.
We are introduced to all of the Buchanan family and I can’t wait to get to know each better in the upcoming books. I will be impatiently waiting for Adalia’s story coming in November.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book. -
This was one of the sweetest stories I've read in a long while. It's almost wholesome, that just absolute sense of respect, love, loyalty, and rightness. Georgie and River are fire. Almost fitting into that insta love genre, their connection is consuming and intense from the get go. However, they have to fight, tooth and nail, for their HEA. The writing is engrossing and, honestly, perfection. The plot is romantic and entertaining. There is just so much going on here and the pieces fit together seemingly effortlessly. It was a breath of fresh air, and an inspiration. This story makes you want to follow your dreams and grab everyone that surrounds you on the way. It was family and community unity at its finest and I adored every second.
-
An easy, escapist love story that has the fabulous heart that infuses everything Ms. Swank writes. That is the part I adore in this book and it’s the reason I never miss a book with her name on it.
This story, however is weighed down with WAY too many words for the amount of story presented. Seriously, at the 30% mark nothing had happened but a reading of the will and the main character finding out she wants to run her deceased grandfather’s brewery. Everything else is everyday, endless minutia with so little forward motion in an actual plot that I almost DNF’d it.
I persevered only because of the love I mentioned above. And, I’m kinda glad I did because things do pick up around the halfway point. It is still predicable but at least it moves forward and is enjoyably entertaining. -
3.75 stars
While this wasn’t a total winner for me, it was a sweet and entertaining story with richly layered characters.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My problem with the story was that the book focuses a lot on her family dynamics as she runs the brewery and I just wanted more of her story with River. But it was a delightful, entertaining rom-com romp! I read via audiobook and the narrator did an awesome job bring this book to life. -
Usually my dgs books are mysteries. I really enjoyed this one from her. Great characters.

Any Luck at All is the first book in the Asheville Brewing series by A.R. Casella and Denise Grover Swank. The series will feature the Buchanan siblings as they try to run Asheville Brewing after they inherited it from their grandfather. The main characters of this book are Georgie and River.
Georgie is a businesswoman. She funded and sold her own company so at the beginning of the book she doesn't have a job which made her decision to keep the brewery instead of selling. River was close to Georgie's grandfather, but he worked in another brewery and he has a passion for making beer. He also ends up been without a job at the beginning of the book because his friend and partner went and sold his business (I would really like to know what Finn was thinking when he did that and hopefully I will find out in the next book). So you have Georgie who needs a brewer and River a brewer who needs a job and since she is a smart woman she hires him even if it meant that they would stop the relationship that started to blossom.
The book was almost a 5-star read but two things prevented it from happening. The first thing is Georgie's constant need of love and approval from her very distant father and siblings. She even went to therapy before the events of the book, but I think that she should have not stopped visiting. She did whatever she could to please her siblings who seemed very absent and her father was always in the back of her mind and it affected her relationship with River. I would have liked to see her doing the groveling and standing up to her siblings when it came to River. Instead, he was the one who did all the work and she remained in the making plans phase. It was all intentions, but no actions.
The second thing that was off for me, was the absence of the other Buchanan siblings. We see them a little in the beginning and then Georgie's sister appears at the end to set up the events for her own book, but that's it. Unless you count them putting obstacles to Georgie and River's relationship from the telephone.
The good had some good parts too though. After a long time, I chuckled when reading a book that was labeled as a comedy. River's aunt is over the top, but for some weird reason, it worked very well for the story. She might be my favorite character and I hope we will see more of her in the next books. Adalia's story is next and her man will be Finn, River's former business partner. The first moment these two appeared together, I got immediately the feeling that they should become a couple and I guess I got my wish come true. Overall, the book was good and I would recommend it. -
Thank you to A.R. Casella and Denise Grover Swank for the complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed Any Luck at All by A.R. Casella and Denise Grover Swank. In the book Georgie Buchanan unexpectedly inherits a brewing company from her grandfather. The catch is she has to run it with her three siblings. She ends up finding help from River Reeves, a brewmaster who learned everything he knows from her grandfather.
I thought the book was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the insight into the beer making process. The authors also have some absolutely hilarious characters working at the brewery. There are so many seriously laugh out loud moments. I also enjoyed the basic premise of this very dysfunctional family trying to work together to build an award winning brewery.
I would recommend this book to romance lovers that like a little humor. If you are a fan of beer you'll love this one. The book is a closed door romance but there is enough sexual tension to keep things interesting.
Long story short - I loved the book and I can't wait for the next installments in the Asheville Brewing series. -
I needed this book it was just the right amount of funny mixed with a great storyline and romance.
It really has all the things you look for in a romance book. The intimate scenes faded to black, not my norm but sometime stepping out of the norm is ok.
Georgie is a great character and I love that she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her family is intriguing and if I continue with this series I know I will be pleasantly surprised. The sister is someone I want to know more about that is for sure.
River and his crazy town had me laughing. I think his best friend might just have feelings for him and I don’t think he even knows. So we definitely need her to get her own HEA.
The puppy’s omg I about feel in love. Hops what a great name!
I loved the narration Joy is a great voice actress she really gives each character their own voice it was wonderful to experience. -
This is the first book in a new series by DGS and A.R. Casella. It was a good first book that delved into the story line of the series, the characters that we will meet, and leaves the reader wanting more. In this book we meet the Buchanan family who has just learned that their late grandfather has left his brewery and estate to his grandchildren. There are some stipulations that come with taking over the brewery and it leaves the oldest Buchanan grandchild, Georgie, questioning whether or not it was a good decision to keep the brewery in the family, especially when she realizes she has a major crush on her new employee!
The town of Asheville, NC reminds me of Lucy Score's "Blue Moon" Series. It's filled with some very eclectic characters that are sure to make you laugh! Dottie, Josie, Lurch, Jezebel....just to name a few. ;) Fans of DGS and Lucy Score will fall in love with these characters and this town and you'll find a new author to "stalk" in A.R. Casella. I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series and with the rest of the Buchanan grandchildren. -
I don’t even know where to begin with the review, I mean this book was amazing. You could feel something big was going to happen, and boy howdy it did. I can’t go into what happens. But I’ll tell you this... there is a devil cat, some crystals, and The Hair of Hops.
So, if you don’t get this book, you are missing out on a great story. If you don’t get this book, and you later decide that you are going to read it, you are going to say to yourself- why didn’t I read this sooner. It happens to every one of Denise’s book.
Don’t be that person that waits, get it now and then you can gush to all of your friends about how good this book is. -
The perfect balance🤍
Ohh I love this new romantic comedy series from Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella!
I adore the main characters in this book. Georgie and River are the perfect couple. They compliment each other very well. The twists and turns just added the right amount of angst-in a good way of course for the reader. I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book! It was such a refreshing book to read, and exactly what I needed. Aunt Dottie is the best!! A lot of the times I was laughing due to her antics and quirkiness! Can’t forget about Jezebel. 🤣
This book truly has a perfect balance of romance and comedy. I highly recommend it. -
This first book sets the general plot for this series, it starts at a will reading, Beau Buchanan just passed away and one half of the table contains his son, Prescott, and his grandkids, Georgie, Adalia, and Lee. The other side has his work friends who were more like a family for a long time, since his own blood never bother to call nor visit, except for Georgie, whom just recently visited and started to bond with Beau. We learn that he left his brewery to his grandkids, which... let's just say don't have the best relationship.
Georgie, since she already owned a successful business before, takes the lead over the management, with some 'help' from her siblings, decides to hire River, Beau's friend, and student since Beau taught him how to brew beer, a brew-master when the last one quits and we begin learning about this new beginning for everyone involved.
Now, I have an unpopular opinion about this book, I can't really shake the feeling like I read a different one because I definitely did not find this book endearing, cute, or funny. I loathed Georgie, I know she sought approval from her father and brother, and she also had this desire to be loved and enough for her family which they never did (at least so far). Because of that, let's be honest for a minute, she treated River like a new toy, she really wanted him and probably lusted after him, but not even for a hot second I felt love from her, he was basically the first male who loved her and thought she hung the moon no matter what she did. Which leads me to my biggest turn off about this book, River just let Georgie go with everything mean she did to him, I really hate doormats in my books (been there, done that, got the t-shirt and burned the freaking thing), he never stood up for himself and that angered me more than I can convey. The secondary characters weren't any better, the rest of the siblings were awful and acted entitled to everything, Dottie was supposed to be that weird old aunt that everyone is wary about but love dearly... for me they tried too hard, which in humor doesn't work and in this book felt forced 90% of the time.
Still, the writing is amazing and even if I couldn't connect with Georgie and River, there's still hope for the rest. I'm actually looking forward to being proven wrong about my impressions so far about this series. Even if my review is not that positive I do recommend this book, I think Denise and AR have made something amazing. -
Any Luck at All by Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella which is a stand-alone in the Asheville Brewing series.
The description of this book being an opposites attract romantic comedy couldn’t be more spot on, as this is exactly what the story is.
The chemistry between Georgie and River radiates off the page, and you can’t help but be drawn into their love story. The character development is well written.
I’m looking forward to reading the other stand-alone books in the Asheville Brewing series. -

Georgie and her siblings have just unexpectedly inherited a brewery from their estranged grandpa. The rest of them want to sell it, but she's adamant about keeping it and her grandpa's legacy. Can the gorgeous River be her brewing guide? Well, why not? He learned from her grandpa, and he needs a job. No problem. Well, except for the pesky little problem that now she's his boss...
This is a cute, sweet start to a new series, all centered around the inherited brewery. Georgie and River are an awesome couple, and River made the entire story for me with his sweet, down to earth personality. Can't wait for more of the Asheville Brewing stories.

Any Luck At All is book one in the new Asheville Brewing series by
Denise Grover Swank and A R Casella. They make a remarkable writing
duo in this hilarious and heartwarming rom com. I loved it from the
moment we were introduced to the fabulous cast of characters.
When the failing Buchanan Brewing Company is passed to the combative Buchanan heirs,
they are split down the middle on what to do with it. None of them know a thing
about making beer nor do they want to. Unfortunately, before they can even
get started, there is one disaster after another leaving all to wonder if they can
even come back from it.
The Buchanan's are not a very agreeable group but with Georgie at the helm there is
a slight ray of hope for the company. River Reeves and his madcap Aunt Dottie are
willing to help in any way they can but sadly that is not always a good thing.
There are too many eccentric supporting characters to mention but they will leave
you rolling with laughter.
If you are ready for a lighthearted, endearing, funny read, Any Luck At All is the
book for you. It left me happy and smiling and in a happy place that only a touch
of the mystic realm can achieve. I highly recommend this magical book. -
Any Luck at All is phenomenal!! The first book in the series is filled with lots of laughs and romance that will melt your heart. Denise Grover Swank and A.R Casella did an outstanding job co-writing this book. The writing is flawless and story flows so naturally.
This first story follows Georgie, who inherits her grandfather's brewery along with her siblings. Taking on this task may be more than she bargained for. Upon the agreement of accepting the Brewery, her grandfather had placed two stipulations to ensure the Brewery succeeds. There may be some bumps in the road at first, but with her business experience and her go-getter attitude is just what the company needs. River is beyond swoon-worthy. He was taught the ins and outs of the Brewery and ended up starting one of his own with a friend, Finn. However, Finn made a huge decision without River. River can't trust his own friend and decides he wants nothing to do with Big Catch. But as luck would have it, Georgie needs a brew master and River is the perfect choice.
He and Georgie are instantly drawn to one another, but aren't sure the line should be crossed because of the roles they play in each others life. We meet some other amazing characters, like Aunt Dottie, who is just the right amount of wacky and loving.
If you love Rom-Coms this is definitely one you will want to dive into. I am so excited for the next three books in this series and look forward to seeing what happens with Buchanan Brewery. -
Any Luck at all is a good fresh story. The characters both the human and furry are great and entertaining. I love that the storyline has many layers. The other aspect of the book that I love is that the turmoil isn’t drawn out to great lengths. The book held my interest the entire time.
