And when Rachel Hatch's past comes back to haunt her,
The only thing she can do is what she does best.
Fight.
Rachel Hatch returns to Hawk's Landing after closing the chapter on her father's death. She wants nothing more than to reconnect with her family and to find a new sense of normal. But sometimes the gap between what you want and what you get is as wide as a canyon.
A death on a neighboring reservation has Sheriff Dalton Savage and his small department working overtime to figure out the truth. Hatch tries to maintain her distance from the case.
As the case investigation progresses, Hatch's past comes crashing back. To save the people who matter most in her life, Hatch must make the ultimate sacrifice.
Smoke Signal (Rachel Hatch #4) Reviews
-
Smoke Signal, the number 4 in the Rachel Hatch series, and the best so far.
A story with everything In it.
Rachel Hatch returns to her home town, back to her only family, the man she has missed, but is she ready for a quiter life.... I was so happy to find Rachel back home and reconnecting with Dalton but of course trouble was waiting for her too.
After finally putting the mystery of her father's death behind her, Rachel looks ahead to rebuilding her relationship with her mother and becoming a mother to her sister's orphans.
But no such thing as a quite life, Rachel is not ready yet, and needs to be involved , so of course joins Dalton again, of course as a consultant, finding the killers of a chief of police on an Indian Reservation.
The strength of Rachel Hatch and of course Dalton Savage is their great strong characters, very well put together by the two authors working well as a team.
A good story, although I guessed the villain of the piece their it so much more to this story, with great humour added with a hint of romance, twists and surprises and of course action.
All I can say I have ordered the next in the series, you just have too....
Best in the series so far.... Ready for number 5 !! -
Rachel Hatch Tries To Settle At Home, But Her Past Keeps Her Fighting
After closing the chapter on her Dad's death Rachel heads back to Hawk's Landing, where her Mom, niece and nephew await her...Of course there is another person she hopes to become closer to, the Sheriff Dalton Savage...She tries to be a new person, leaving her gun slinging days in the past...But nothing is ever easy for this courageous, caring young woman...And her chase of her Dad's killers has put a new bunch on her trail, putting everyone she loves in danger.
I laughed, cried and fought right along this woman, who refuses to let any harm come to those she loves...Which, after the last battle, leaves her with a serious decision to make...And as I said before...Nothing Is Easy....
A story that keeps you in it from start to the blazing finish..My emotions definitely need a rest, as I feel like I have lived through so much...And Rachel must go on...5 STARS all the way, a chilling story as so many can never let go of Anything..Constantly seeking Revenge.. -
Two-haiku review:
She's finally home
Native police chief murdered
She assists the cops
Ending changes things
Maybe inevitable
But sad about it -
Where loving means leaving
Rachel Hatch has come home to her mother, niece and nephew. And hopefully to the sheriff, Dalton Savage. After finally putting the mystery of her father's death behind her, Rachel looks ahead to rebuilding her relationship with her mother and becoming a mother to her sister's orphans. Before she has a chance to delve into the status of her relationship with Savage, another sheriff, Billy Nighthawk, is brutally murdered by two poachers on the southern Ute Reservation. His death starts a snowball effect which leads to another defining moment in her and Savage's lives. Both moving and graphic, this book glimpses into the private hell that is Rachel's life and decision. Great read! -
The amazing Rachel Hatch in a heart-pounding trap.
Each book keeps getting better and better and after finishing I anxiously await the next chapter "Firewalk" that is on deck. Great job L.T. Ryan, keep 'em coming. -
The Rachel Hatch stories are among the books that I read as soon as they are published. I buy them as soon as released and I don't put them down until I finish, no matter how late into the night or early morning.

Home again
Finding her father's killer finally allowed Hatch to return home leaving the life she'd lived for the past twenty years. Reconnecting with her niece, nephew and her mother, and also Sheriff Savage was utmost on her mind. However, now she'd become a target for the same company that changed her life when she was only a teenager. -
Great book!!!
Again, I love this gal. Hatch is an interesting, fearless, bold woman with unbelievable heart and honor. I am reading this series back to back and this one settled her down a bit....but just for a moment. 😁 Her life is definitely never dull. Now, I can't wait for the release of number 5!!! It's gonna be goooood! -
Can Hatch Acclimate
Hatch returns home after a successful trip to Africa where she stirred up a hornet's nest. She searches for a normal life with her mother and sister's children, and even pursues love. Will she find what she is looking for, or will she be found? Another page turner!
