I love Rebecca Jenshak’s sports romances and I was super excited to read this one. First off, it’s a friends to lovers and brother’s friend/roommate romance. And second of all, the hero is Nate’s (from ‘The Fake’) brother.
Ginny is a college freshman who just got out of a breakup. She doesn’t know anyone at Valley college, except for her hockey playing brother, Adam. She starts to meet some of Adam’s friends and teammates, one of them who is insanely attractive to her, Heath. Heath and Ginny become friends but that’s all. Adam has warned his teammates off his little sister.“You and I are going to be just friends.”
“Friends?” His brows raise. “I don’t have girl friends.”
“You do now.”
The more time these two spend together, the more apparent it becomes that friendship isn’t going to be enough. They want to be together, but they keep it on the down low. I loved the secret dating aspect and most of all I loved the banter and friendship between this couple. Overall, this was a fairly low angst and fun read.
If you’re a fan of new adult sports romance, you should definitely check this book out! I’m excited that Adam’s book will be next and I really hope there is a Mav book also! -
Heath and Ginny were super cute. I don’t know why I expected this to be hot and steamy friends with benefits. I mean, it sort of did have that vibe, but you could also tell these two were forming a friendship and falling for each other along the way. This one is very low angst. It also has a bit of a secret relationship vibe, but honestly everyone knows that these two characters are spending time with each other. It’s overall just a sweet and fun college romance read. I like the new friend group that Jenshak set up in the same Valley U world. I have a feeling that some of the other hockey boys will also steal our hearts soon.

First of all, this series seems to be a spinoff of the series Smart Jocks by the same author. Near the end, I noticed there were a few characters that popped up randomly, as if I should be familiar with them. Although it didn't confuse me, I think I will read that series before pursuing reading Campus Nights books as I am fairly interested in the characters that were presented, but also because I like following the stories chronologically and recognizing the characters when they make an easter egg. That's just a me thing.
Now as for the story, it personally didn't quite hit the mark as much as I thought it would. I liked it, there were some good bits but I did think it was long and repetitive at times. Generally speaking, nothing major happened.
Ginny is a freshman in college who just broke up with her boyfriend due to the fact he didn't want to do long distance relationship. Her brother decides to introduce her to his hockey team and tries to integrate her so she isn't lonely and can eventually make friends and get over her ex. One of those hockey players is Heath who has a reputation of not dating and only seeing the same girl once or twice. Meeting Ginny, he instantly becomes interested in her and starts developing some feelings he isn't familiar with. The story was pretty much about Ginny and Heath's relationship developing from friends tosecretlovers, sneaking around. Themes such as dealing with parents divorce, the grievance of a parent and independence were also explored slightly without falling into drama overload.Hottest guy on campus: Did you leave without saying goodbye?

Ginny was my favorite character in this book hands down. I rarely like heroines in romance books because they normally have insufferable tendencies and weaknesses, you know, to show the hero is so perfect and so needed. But here Ginny had a backbone but was still sweet. I loved that after Heath asked her to be friends because he was unsure it was a good idea to see his team captain's sister, she didn't really hesitate to move on and try to meet with other guys. It didn't last very long because Heath got so jealous and actually decided that he didn't want to see her with another. It was a nice change to finally see a heroine who didn't just sit around for the hero in case he wanted her later. Something else I appreciated about her was the fact that she didn't let Heath seduce her in the beginning, she easily wooshed him off until they grew closer, friends. After that, she slowly fell in love.Sweet, innocent Ginny’s not looking for a casual hookup. I could have guessed that. It shouldn’t make me happy because it also means I won’t be hooking up with her, but for some reason, I’m glad that no one else will be either.-Heath
I had some difficulty liking Heath at first, but I eventually grew to like him. I wasn't too fond of the player vibes he gave off at the beginning but my opinion of him quickly changed when he started showing a singular interest in Ginny. For once, it was the hero who definitely fell for the heroine first, but of course he couldn't admit he loved her until much later in the book. What made me like him was how possessive and jealous he quickly became around Ginny. He wanted to spend time with her, almost clung to her whenever he could, which was completely different from how he used to act around girls, according to his teammates. Thankfully, we don't see him play around with girls at all in this book. After the initial meetup with Ginny, he is all about her completely. I liked his playfulness, his confidence and honestly, most of his interactions with Ginny were really sweet. The way he randomly tugged at her braid sometimes was really cute.I like her. I like being with her. She makes me be in the moment more deeply. I’m not looking for hookups or to get drunk, I want to sit beside her, pull her hair, and tease her. Basically, I’m five again.-Heath
Their chemistry was there. Was it steamy and passionate? Not really, but they were cute together. I liked seeing their relationship develop overtime. Now, why isn't my rating higher than this? For me, it's mostly the fact nothing much happened other than the parties, the hookups between the main characters and slight family issues. The parties, for one, were a little bit repetitive and I kept thinking there were too many of them. I rarely say this but I wanted to see the characters in class, or just something that showed they were in college, if that makes sense. They could've been on vacation at the beach, all renting hotel rooms and it would've almost worked all the same lol.“What’s your favorite color?”
“Pink.” I get the reaction I hoped for and then chuckle. “Kidding, it’s green. What’s yours?”
“Mine actually is pink, but not pink pink. Like a really dark pink. Cerise.”

The ending was a little bit cheesy, but hey, I'm not lactose intolerant just yet so I liked it anyways. I guess overall, I maybe wanted slightly more angst or relevant issues/drama. I didn't think the book needed 300 pages but overall, not a bad story at all. I'm also very interested in all the other characters; Adam, Reagan, Rhett, Maverick, etc. As well as the characters from the Smart Jocks series we get a glimpse of at the end of this book, during the wedding of one of them.

It was a fantastic friends to lovers, brother's friend, college sports romance full of delicious hockey players, undeniable connections, and beautiful love. I adored everything about Heath Payne!!! Oh my heart... I loved this cocky, gorgeous, sweet guy! He's Nathan's younger brother from the Smart Jock series. This was a fun, flirty read that I couldn't put down. I was smiling throughout and can't wait for more books in this series!

I can hear the gasps in the background, but I enjoyed this book more than I enjoyed any other recently released hockey romance by far more popular authors for that matter (yes I am referring to Elle Kennedy for example, even though I still love H&G SO MUCH) and even more than I expected.
Heath and Ginny are both so lovable and funny, there is nothing I would change about them. They have an instant attraction but they stay friends for a while before taking a leap and jumping into doing anything. Their chemistry is great but the real intimate scene only happens at around 75% or something (if I remember correctly).
The other guys are unique as well, and I can not wait to get to know them more closely. Mav is my favorite - he was so excited to travel that he forgot to pack anything other than socks and boxers??? Could he be cuter? And his questions that completely coming out of the blue? He has the biggest heart of the group, even though they all wonderful.
Also loved his bromance with Heath, Heath actually studied with him and read out loud the book.
Overall, it was really good. -

Secret Puck is a new adult college sports romance. It is a brothers team mate/friend romance with a somewhat secret/hidden relationship aspect and combines friends to lovers and slight age gap elements.
Ginny is recently out of a relationship and starting her freshman year of college. She isn't necessarily looking for a serious relationship and just plans on enjoying her college experience and meeting new people. While at college she is introduced to her brother's hockey team mates and other close friends where she begins her true college experience.
Heath is not known for long lasting relationships but he also isn't an overly active playboy. He likes to have fun but is alsoalso very focused on his future and very much dedicated to hockey. The last thing he expects is meeting someone who could possible change his view on relationships.
I really loved the progression of Ginny & Heath's story. To me it felt like a genuine and true depiction of what an actual college romance/relationship feels like. It was fun, flirty, passionate, steamy and relatively low angst. The story felt true to the characters as it navigated their ever changing feelings and relationship dynamic over the course of the year. Such a quick, easy and truly enjoyable read.
I absolutely loved all the secondary characters that helped play a role in this story, even though this was my first read by this author I can already tell I enjoy her writing style and can't wait to read more stories in the future.

Sweet friends-to-lovers story that will melt your heart... 4 stars!
This book was like the best cozy sweater that's in your closet. You know, the one that's stretched out and mostly faded but feels like a hug from your grandma. It was so nice being back at Valley U and seeing familiar locations and faces from Rebecca's Smart Jocks series. Even though this is the start of a new series, I would recommend going back and reading the Smart Jocks series first as you'll get a better appreciation for The White House and all of the basketball boys!
Now on to this book. For me, the beginning of this novel felt a little too close to YA. It was so sweet and cotton candy flavored, and just reminded me why I don't read YA anymore. However around the 45% mark, the story really picked up for me as the steamy bits finally emerged, and the dirty reader that I am became invested again. While reading, I could feel Heath's giant fuck-up coming, but his grovel was so cute and more than made up for his blunder. Overall, I enjoyed this one, and I loved getting a chance to see Bless, Joel and Kat, Zeke and Gabby, and Nathan and Chloe again! It made me want to reread all of their books, but I am so stoked for Adam's book next!

Rebecca Jenshak brings us back to the campus where we previously fell in love with a bunch of beautiful and funny jocks. Now we meet another group of friends and I can assure you they have nothing to envy to the old ones who in the meantime have graduated.
Secret Puck was a nice and sweet read, low in the drama side and full of funny scenes.
Heath is a promising hockey player, he likes flings without any feelings. Ginny is a freshman, she has planned to start college with her high school boyfriend but that never happened so now she is broken hearted and she is lonely. She accepts her older broter’s help and she goes to his party to meet some new friends. Here she meets Heath, her brother’s teammate, and between them there is istantly a physical attraction but they are looking for different experiences at the college so they choose to be friends. Will they succed to be just friends? Or will they give in to the chemistry they have?
I really enjoyed this story and I’m looking for the next one because I’ve also appreciated the supporting characters.

This is cute. I am a fan of Miss Jenshak. Most of her Valley U series, I enjoyes it. Secret Puck is the spin off. Heath is the brother of Nathan.
The story is typical NA romance involving best friend's brother. But the forbidden aspect is minimum and replace with cute, bromance, sassy banter. And Miss Jenshak makes it work perfectly.
Plot is light. I like the chemistry between Heath and Ginny. They are cute together. Their relationship evolving from friend to lover is something sweet and cute.
Overall this is a wonderful book.

So, I may be a little stalker addicted to Rebecca Jenshak’s writing after devouring the Smart Jocks series. And when this one popped up and it was a college hockey book I was totally there for it. I pretty much went in blind but as it progressed it had me so sucked in, I didn’t want to put it down. And a huge part of that was that as it progressed so much from Rebecca’s previous books came flooding back as well as getting this awesome new story and a heap of amazing new characters.
To start with this is set at the same university as the Smart Jock’s series, which tbh, kind of didn’t matter to me. Secondly there was the fact that our beautiful Heath is none other than Nate’s baby brother. Which really did matter to me because we got to see how things were progressing for Nate and Chloe as well as catch up on some of our other favourite Jocks.
But all of that aside is the fact that these two characters were beautiful and I loved them both. Ginny was a little beaten and bruised emotionally when we first meet her but she quickly realises that some things happen for a reason and she didn’t get annoying or whiny. She just was upset for what she expected to happen but moved on and enjoyed her new normal and I loved her so much for that. I admit I was scared we were going to have a bit of an emotional drama queen when I first started reading but I soon saw more of the story and realised that Ginny was all things strong, independent woman. Also she had valid reason’s for being upset and she took Taylor’s advice and shook it right off.
Heath. Oh Heath. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop with him for about half of the book. He was too perfect a boyfriend for a man who didn’t know how to spell commitment. I was sure he was going to do something to knock him off the pedestal and he kind of did but he fixed it so damn fast he barely wobbled up there. He really gave great boyfriend. He was sweet and caring and everything you want your daughter to date.
I really am praying that Rebecca plans to make this into a very long series because she gives great secondary characters and I need Mav to fall and I am already anticipating Adam and Reagan’s book. I just want more please. -

We return to Valley U, with the start of the Campus Nights series giving us Heath Payne’s story. If you have read the author’s Smart Jock’s series, you will already know a little about Heath, although I’d recommend reading the series, you really don’t need to have done so, to enjoy his and Ginny’s story.

Heath likes to keep his relationships commitment free, and Ginny is all about the couple aspects of such things, something he comes to appreciate as their friendship (with a heavy dose of mutual attraction) grows. Although he is repeatedly warned off his sister by his team captain Adam, Heath realises pretty quickly there is something different about this girl, one-and-done isn’t what he wants, and he actually enjoys spending time with her and not just between the sheets.
I’m wishing the clock would move a little slower so we could spend more time together…
I really enjoyed this one, Rebecca is definitely back on form, with the usual banter, slow burn and affable secondary characters, the guys on Heath’s team are an entertaining bunch on their own so I’m looking forwards to getting to read all of their books, the drama levels in this one were well balanced, Ginny and Heath were likeable and it was great to catch up with all the guys from the Smart Jocks series as well.
Bad Crush is due next, and I’m interested to see how Team Captain; Adam fares with Reagan, the foundation for these two was well set in Secret Puck so I think we are looking at another great read to come!

I’m so happy that Heath & Ginny are finally here and that you can all read their story, because it’s bloody brilliant. I’ve been a huge fan of Rebecca’s since the very early days and she never fails to amazes me with her words. The Valley U characters are the best; I love each and every one of them. If you’ve read the 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐉𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐒 books you will have met Heath briefly when he was an obnoxious teen - well, he went and grew up and he is now, without a doubt, my new favourite! His relationship with Ginny starts off as platonic but you just know these two are fighting the insane attraction between them; plus it doesn’t help that Ginny is his teammate Adams little sister!! Oh boy!
𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐓 𝐏𝐔𝐂𝐊 is book 1 in the Campus Nights series and I can’t wait to see what comes next - hopefully a book for Maverick because that guy is a hoot!! -

If you love NA sports romance with sweet and slightly steamy storylines, you need to be oneclicking Rebecca Jenshak’s novel. Secret Puck is another on a long line of fantastic romances that are endearing and entertaining.
Jenshak has a knack of creating thoroughly lovable characters, everyone form the H and h to the secondary cast. They are charming and authentic.
Heath and Ginny have a cute relationship, drawn to each other with a believable chemistry. It is entertaining seeing them fight their feelings and eventually succumb to their emotions. While the conflict is expected, it still hit you right in the heart when the climax of their story arrived. The ending, the redemption was great for them, and the revelation of the H allowed for growth of the character.
Overall, Secret Puck is a great audible. The narrators were fantastic, and the storyline was the perfect NA low-Drama romance. -

This was a cute new adult sports romance. It's a spin off from the Smart Jocks series and the hero, Heath, is the brother of the MMC in The Fake. The narration by Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin was great and I especially enjoyed Vanessa Edwin's performance. She really made those emotional scenes hit home!
There are lots of fun tropes in this one like teammate's little sister, friends to lovers, and forbidden-ish romance. The reformed player isn't my favorite type of hero, but I appreciated that the book was pretty low angst and that Heath's character arc and growth was an important part of the story. I also liked that there wasn't a rush for the characters to have penetrative sex. Things were plenty sexy without that and when they did decide to take that step, both were 100% ready and on board. I loved the little cameo's from the Smart Jocks characters/couples and the epilogue was a beautiful way to bring those worlds together. I'm looking forward to reading more books in this series, especially Rhett's!

I enjoyed it, it was cute! It had the hockey playboy with the captain's little sister, cliché, I know but I still ate it up😂Both were super sweet and playful. My guy Heath completely forgot about other girls as soon as he met Ginny, all he wanted to do was spend time with her. I honestly thought that the whole 'she is the captain's little sister and he is his teammate and roommate' was going to be a big deal but it wasn't. And I'm sorry but Maverick took most of my attention and he was just a side character. He was so cute and funny in all his scenes; I can't wait to read his book!

I LOVED Secret Puck! It was the perfect blend of both adorable and sweet and hot and steamy. I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting after reading the blurb, but it definitely wasn’t this. I’m all for a forbidden and secret romance, so I was super excited when I found out it was between a teammate and his captain’s sister. But it definitely had more of a friends to lovers vibe than anything. I mean sure there was a teensy bit of sneaking around, but Heath and Ginny were completely obvious with their affections in my opinion.
The crush Heath and Ginny had for each other was so cute. Their friendship just felt so natural, like two puzzle pieces fitting together. The comfortable ease and intoxicating chemistry made it so easy to fall in love with them.
The angst and drama were very low and my god it was refreshing. To be honest, I was so preoccupied swooning and trying to control the butterflies in my tummy. The innocent little touches and sweet words between Heath and Ginny to even notice anything else.
This is my first book by Rebecca, and I will most definitely be reading both her past and future work. The easy flow to the writing and the loveable and entertaining characters had me hooked from start to finish. It’s so incredible to be able to find a series where you love every single character and become completely invested in their individual stories. I am so incredibly happy that I found Rebecca’s books and I am so excited for Adam and Reagan’s story next.

I enjoyed this light college romance. I can't remember the last time I read a secret relationship book, but now I want to find more of them. The story is told in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama (although they each get jealous at times over the other) and neither are virgins. The H had a lot of hook-ups and the h had only had disappointing sexual encounters prior, which I know isn't some readers' favorite. Even when they're maintaining that they're just friends, there's no one else for either.
The H and h start as friends who have an instant attraction/chemistry, until they give in and agree to hooking up and hiding it from her brother. Most of their friend group know the truth though and I loved this group as a whole, there was great banter and support. Both the H and h fit together so well and their relationship is sweet and steamy, although it does take a bit for them to go all the way because the h has some hang-ups about it, but there's no pressure from the H. Of course they hit a bump that they then have to work out relationship-wise and I wasn't crazy about the conflict, but I appreciated that it gets resolved fairly quickly. They do get their HFN ending and an epilogue months later that makes it clear they'll stay together. Since this is the first book in the series, I'm sure that this couple makes an appearance throughout.
Overall I liked this and I'd like to read more of Ms. Jenshak's books (this was my first). Sometimes an entertaining, college athlete romance just hits the spot. -
No drama. Very little angst. That’s what I’ve come to love about a Rebecca Jenshak book.
When I read ‘The Assist’ which was my first of Jenshak’s books I ever read, I was just coming off the back of finishing another college sports romance series and my expectations were very high. There was something about Wes & Blair’s relationship that just didn’t hit the mark for me but the story was great. Then I read The Fadeaway and Joel & Katrina, their story was everything I wanted!
What I didn’t realise when I picked up ‘Secret Puck’ was that it was the brother of one of the original series. And Heath & Ginny were just the perfect pick me up. Their story is just so sweet and cute. Yet Heath didn’t make me swoon hard. But my favourite thing about the book is the friendship group. There’s nothing one person you dislike. And you want to read more because they all have a story to tell.
I really enjoyed the simple storyline. Guy meets girl. You and girl avoid feelings until they can’t. Guy freaks out. HEA. The only reason it’s a 3, is for me, as with all Jenshaks books, sometimes I feel it gets a little rushed and loses a chance to go a bit deeper, for example with this one, Heaths relationship with his mom left me wanting more detail as did Ginny’s parents revelation. They felt glossed over, and if they’d had more detail it definitely would have been a five star for me! -

I felt no connection between Ginny and Heath.
Btw the blurb makes the dating the captain's little sister thing a bit deal when it wasn't... I mean, not really.
2, more like a 1.5 because i didn't hate it, but it just wasn't good for me. I was going to dnf it, but i kept telling myself it would get better. well, it didn't. -

Secret Puck is the first book in Rebecca Jenshak's new sport romance series, and if you have read her previous series you know this is her thing and let me tell you this is her genre, I LOVEE all her sport romance and when i read about the story about Nate's brother i was so excited and let me tell you if you love Nate you will Love Heath so much as well.
We meet Ginny who is just starting college and was left with a broken heart when her highschool boyfriend broke up with her because he decide to go to another college not the one they planned to go together. so her brother Adam is set to help her to enjoy her first year in college and taking care of her, Adam is the hockey team's captain so he lives in the same place that Heath, and that's where Ginny and Heath know each other, you can feel their chemistry from their beginning but Ginny's being the captain's littler sister and that he doesnt do relationships, Heath's plan is just to be friends with Ginny because they dont want the same thing or at least thats what he thinks. But we are going to read about how Ginny start winning Heath's heart and finally they decide to start something.
But will be something serious?? Will finally Heath overcome his bad past with his mom and enjoy a good relationship with a girl that he cares so much?? Will Adam be okay that her little sister is having a relationship with another hockey player??
