What’s scarier than being abducted from Earth and almost eaten by cannibals? The idea of falling in love with a huge alien warrior.

Just a few days ago, I was living my best life. Now? I’m on the run on a strange alien planet. Thanks to my short temper and a severe lack of self-control, I’m being hunted, and it’s only a matter of time before I end up captured or dead.

Now, a hulking Braxian warrior has found me, right when it looked like I had no way out. To say that it’s suspicious timing is an understatement. Everyone knows you can’t trust the tall, dark, handsome types.

Vrex may have his own reasons for joining me on this rollercoaster ride, but all I know is that I need his help. Now, I just have to convince him to help me sneak into the dragon’s territory and find Charlie, who the beast seems to think belongs to him.

Cause the aliens who bought us? They weren’t alone. Their friends are on their way to Agron. Us human women need to stick together if we’re going to get off this planet alive.

As for Vrex? If he helps me, I’ll be in his debt. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the giant warrior, it’s that he always gets what he’s owed.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to it…

Protected by the Alien Warrior is a full-length romance with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA. While this can be read on its own, you'll enjoy it much more after reading the first four books in this series.

If you like hot, dominant aliens, kick-ass heroines, and steamy romance, you'll love Warriors of Agron- Hope Hart's new sci-fi romance series.

    Quick(ish) Review

This book features Ivy, the firefighter and Vrex, the assassin for a favor. It’s a nice addition and I think Ms Hart does well with her proactive, independent heroines. Vrex is your standard tortured but really sweet and stoic type. Their story helps to expand the ‘verse even more. The only quibble is the romantic tension is reliant on the lack of communication, which was...fine. You know, it didn’t float my boat or sink my battleship. But I’m in it for the heroines getting to see each other again so I’m ready for the next book.

  • Mar, Queen of Darkness

Ivy was awesome, and Vrex was a big ol' sweetie pie. I'm a total sucker for the misunderstood, strong, silent type whose all gruff and tough and just needs a little love to soothe his tortured soul, and that was Vrex to a T. I could have used a little more backstory or building of his character in other books so I could see how he had earned his badass reputation, because he just seemed like a big softie for most of this book. Still loved him though.

There were also a few timeline inconsistencies that irked me, but they were pretty easy to overlook. Though this didn't wow me as much as 2 and 3, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and stayed up until 3am to finish it. Considering how tired I am today, that's saying something.

I loved all Ivy's quotes from The Art of War as well! So awesome.

  • SheLove2Read

I wanted to like this more than I did. This is a classic case of a badass male (Vrex) finally getting his own story and suddenly he's in touch with his feelings. It didn't feel genuine to me.

We saw a bit of Vrex in the last book, I wasn't sure what to think of him, other than he could probably find Ivy with no issues. And that is just what he did. Like most of the other guys Vrex was a bit stunned with Ivy, she didn't act like any of the other females he knew, wasn't scared of him, talked to him, slowly won him over. I liked that each was smitten with the other, but hated how they got pulled apart. In the end though Ivy learned that Vrex was really into her and did what he could to make sure she was safe and that her life on this planet would be a good one.

    So amazing!

Hope! You’re so awesome! I spoke to Hope on her Facebook page and she confirmed the stories will continue! I just had to leave this message to the diehards like myself! The Arcav series isnt over either! These stories are truly amazing! I loved ivy and Vrez story. So sweet and she being a fire fighter and me working in EMS my whole life hits close to home. Especially since I remember when 9/11 happened and going to work during that tragic time. I’m so glad I discovered Hopes books. She has definitely put a smile on my face during a time I truly needed it most. Ptsd is a bitch and reading her books has let me escape and laugh and smile again. Her stories give me hope. No pun there, but it’s true. Her world building, her humor and just the way she writes let’s your imagination just run wild with her stories and you can just put a voice and color to everything she describes. She’s amazing. I’ll leave it at that.

It's like a movie that I don't want to see end

A totally kick ash plot, engaging characters and lots of life and death moments make this book hard to put down! Ivy is spunky and resourceful and completely adorable in her bold innocence. The assassin never stood a chance against her. He had that whole wounded hero loner vibe that no one wants to admit is a turn on, but it totally is. They make a great team, and you are constantly hoping one or the other don't die. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author!

Firefighter Ivy and other human women were kidnapped from Earth by the Grivath, then sold on a slave planet, and finally the ship they are on crashes. The Voildi showed up and killed the surviving purple aliens who had bought them before the crash. The new group began the long walk to their camp. As they stopped to rest a moment, three 7-foot-tall aliens with scales jumped out and fought, grabbing Beth, Zoey, and Ivy and carrying them through the forest. Zoey is in bad shape so, when the Voildi dumps her to the ground, Ivy jumped in front of her to protect her while Beth helped her to stand up. Expecting his speed, she actually succeeds in punching him in the nose! The laughter of his friends as his nose bled put her in greater danger. One of them wanted to make a meal of her, but the leader Killis said females were valuable. Now they would have to look for chances for at least one of them to escape. Ivy has torn off and dropped little pieces of her pajamas in case the Braxian warriors who saved the others try to follow them. Because Ivy showed them she could fight, they now watch her even more closely. Beth is afraid to try to escape, and Zoey has broken ribs and is too weak right now.

Beth fakes weakness and asks to relieve herself in the woods. The guard who went with her underestimated her tiny build, but she is a dancer and has strength he didn’t expect – she was able to escape. Yet no help arrived. They reached a village where Ivy learned that Killis was hoping to sell them at a slave market nearby but the Braxians have shut it down. This news led to a lot of pacing and screaming from Killis, which Ivy thoroughly enjoyed.

Vrex is known as the Assassin of Agron, a mercenary tracker. He is expert at what he does. King Rakiz now asks, along with his human Queen, that Vrex find Ivy. The Braxians did save Zoey, but Ivy had escaped into the woods. Vrex, thinking nothing is a challenge to his skills, accepts. Can he save her? Will the respect she can draw from him have him reconsider whether he needs a mate after all?

I will forgive a lot of things. In series books.
What I refuse to forgive, is timeline. Literally the easiest thing to plot out at your desk as you bend over your laptop rapping out a story.

This book is a joke to the rest of the series and I'm struggling mightily because I was soooo excited to see what Ivy was up to for the weeks leading up to her dude finding her.

The author totally scraped out of that responsibility that she built up and decided to nix a whole WEEK of time between two serious events (an escape and a mini war) and decided to just sandwich those events into a 24 hour period.

    It. Does. Not. Add. Up.
    Yeah.
    Yeah we fuckin' noticed.

I'm so incredibly disappointed because Ivy is a badass and deserves more cred. Give her the richly deserved backstory she needs dude. There's weeks of time she had to toil and figure out who to trust, where to hide, how to scavage--whatever.

You've destroyed my tiny reader trust Ms. Hart.
    It does not feel nice.

***plus. Quick note: he says "i need to visit someone, you should totes come" and she gets up from her borrowed bed and then after a somewhat wordless exchange over shows, two pages later, she thinks 'oh hey, he hasn't said a word to me today.' .....like I said. Timeline's an issue in this book, both big and small. Needs work.

Book 5 in the Warriors of Agron series. As with all the books in this series it can be read as a standalone. But there is an ongoing series arc so it is best read in order.

We start going back a little in time with this book to when the humans initially crash on the planet. We have heard about Ivy in the previous books. She was one of the females captured when the ship crashed by a different group of aliens. They intend to sell her but she manages to get away. She wants to go back and rescue another woman that's still with the bad guys and very sick. Before she manages that, she meets Vrex.

Vrex is an assassin for his people. A Braxian that chooses to live alone in the wilderness instead of with a tribe. He often takes jobs from the tribe leaders and he always requests payment as well as a favor. We meet him earlier in the series when he's asked to find Ivy by one of the leaders. Unfortunatly he fails to let Ivy know that and it causes issues when she finds out.

I really enjoyed how this book was quite different from previous ones. Vrex isn't a tribe leader or one of the top fighters, he's a loner. He's got a persona that scares and intimidates everyone he meets but Ivy sees past it. She doesn't have any preconceived notions of who he is so she's able to get to know him and come to love him without letting exterior factors weigh in.

We do see the world the characters are on expanded as they cross the great water. Another tribe and more alien races are introduced so the future books will probably explore that some.

I am enjoying the series and I will be continuing.

Timeline flaws really take me out of the story. It's also a rushed story. I was starting this book thinking that Ivy had at least a week of being on the run in the woods. When I read that Vrex, the lonely mercenary was sent to find her I thought he was going to find Ivy being an absolute badass surviving in a newly built hut or cave or something. Surviving off traps and the river. Of course, barely surviving but enough for Vrex to be so impressed by her skills and how she was able to take care of herself. Her thigh was also wounded in her escape and her ankle was messed up as well, but we never find out about how that slowed her down. Once it was mentioned, it disappeared. When Vrex was injured she helped him and I was like, What about your thigh that was slashed deeply?

But instead we got a totally different timeline from the other books, where she had only been on the run for an evening and then he found her in the praxis. Doesn't make sense. Other timeline inconsistencies have happened in all the other books as well. it's so vague and undetailed that the entire series seems rushed.

I'm being very generous with these three stars. I wish it was more detailed. Sex scenes, as always in this series, come out of no where and then they are not even that good. The characters and their stories are promising, and if you're looking for an easy read that you don't have to think much about as for timeline, world building, relationship building, then this is for you. I'm just an overthinker and I dive in 100% when I read.

    I loved this book💖💖

Oh, book 5 of the Warriors of Agron was one of my favorites! Vrex, is a lone warrior a man who was told from a very young age that he was worthless and would always be alone grew up to be a warrior without equal. He took all the jobs that no one could or would do and received credits and a favor that was owed when he called for it. He was called an assassin and was positive that no one could or would ever love him until he went on a rescue mission to find Ivy. Ivy was a warrior herself. She has a black belt in karate and she is a hard working firefighter. When she and the other women were kidnapped they were sold at auction and when they crash landed on this planet she was kidnapped again with two others. She escaped at the first opportunity to get help for the others and that when she meets tall dark, deadly and oh so gorgeous Vrex. Immediately she sees how others treat him, how solid, quiet but amazing he is. He has more skills than being a warrior and as they fight to save each other and the other women they fall passionately inlove. Yes , there are misunderstandings, but both Ivy and Vrex over come them and let love rule. It's all good everything I love in a alpha/ sassy strong heroine! Totally recommend💖💖💖💖💖

    And the story ensues...
    description

Another bad-ass H and equally bad-ass h. The H was some sort of bounty-hunter-slash-assassin and the h was black-belt-ex-firefighter-slash-badass-survivor. The story picked up where it left off, though can be read as standalone.

I think it's my personal preference. I feel invigorated every time I read some h that literally kickass bad people/aliens and independently strong opinionated but still managed to keep her grace and kindness at the same time.
    description

So as I said, this book hooked me since it had kick-ass h, good consistent plot, some actions, but also sweet swept-me-off-my-feet romance. Can't wait for Charlie's and her dragon story.

"My dad taught me to rescue myself."

Ivy is a New York firefighter, who doesn't need a man, or Alien warrior for that matter, to rescue her. Vrex is not just any warrior, in a culture centered on tribes, he is a loner, who accepts assignments, jobs, tasks and missions from a variety of tribes -- he does the jobs others can't or won't do.

Ivy has been missing since she managed to escape the Voildi, and in a perhaps desperate bid, Nevada hired Vrex to find Ivy in book three. The beginning of this story tries to fit Ivy's adventures, and escape, into the overall timeline, and while it doesn't feel seamless... it does feel close enough, and like her meeting with Vrex is a good one.

I loved the Ivy saw Vrex in a way no one else did, treated him as no one else does, and inspired him in a variety of ways.

This done in one quick read ties into the previous stories, and is a richer read as part of the series, but reaches a satisfying conclusion, and reads as a solid stand alone Kindle Unlimited story.

I really liked Ivy. She was a tough cookie.

I was confused that Vrex offered to help free Zoey. Rakiz told Vrex they had already rescued her.

I also did not agree with Vrex's decision to not tell Ivy that he had already met 2 women and he was sent to find her. I know he wanted to have her think of him as her hero, but, if he would have told her about the women and that he was sent for her, it would have given her comfort. Instead, she was upset bcuz she felt no on cared enough to look for her. It was selfish and wrong to keep her in the dark. Still, I found myself liking him.

I could see why he craved Ivy seeing him as hero based on how everyone treated him as a threat and his uncle who raised him was abusive. I liked that he had a shy, modest, and socially awkward side. He was kind and thoughtful in how he treated Ivy, his elderly neighbor, and mishua.

As always, Nevada and Rakiz, stole any scene they were in. They are definitely my favorite couple in the series! I love their banter and loving silliness!

  • Harlequin Madness

Each story, so far, in this series has been an addicting read. This book is no exception. Ivy and Vrex are both strong characters and are an excellent match. This is exactly my type of romance book; a strong male lead who is really vulnerable but is someone that is misunderstood and underestimated by everyone. A strong female lead who doesn’t descend into whiny bitchiness as a mask for hurt. Who doesn’t say no when they mean yes . . . You know the type.

Many authors seem to struggle with creating a female that is strong and determined and not a bitch. It can ruin a book for me. But not this author. All her female lead characters have been EXACTLY the type of lead I would have written and more importantly, the type of female I like reading about. The best thing is that all these women are someone that I would love to be friends with.

I don want this series to end! Luckily, I still have a few more books to go.

Women are taken from Earth after being sold at auction they crash land on an alien planet. Each woman has their own adventures and fall in love with their protectors.
This is Vrex and Ivy's story. I recommend reading this series in order. Each of the characters plays a role in other books. There is a HEA for each couple. If you want to read a romance book with heart, action, and drama look no further than this series. Looking forward to reading Charlie's book and finding out about her Dragon.

Ivy and several other women were kidnapped from Earth and the ship they were on crashed on a planet. Ivy, Beth and Zoey were kidnapped from the rest of the group when a fight broke out between the Voildi and the Braxians. The three know that need to escape but Zoey is injured and unable to help. They agree that if one can, to get away and get help for the others. Beth escapes but no help arrives for Zoey and Ivy. When the Voildi try to sell Ivy and Beth, the buyer doesn't want Zoey. She is able to escape on the way to the buyer and is on the run trying to get away from the Voildi that are chasing her. Vrex is known as the Assassin of Agron and has been asked to find Ivy and reunite her with the others. Their journey begins. I love this series and can't wait for the next book.

  • Liz

The previous books in the series were losing my interest somewhat but this books brought it back in a big way! I listened to the audiobook version in one sitting and loved it!

I immediately loved Vrex because he was a tough warrior but not a huge jerk. I also really liked the heroine, Ivy. She's strong and not TSTL and she was able to save herself, or at least help, in tough situations.

This is an all around perfect sci-fi romance book imo! I very much recommend the whole series. The writing is excellent and the narrator is good too.

  • Trixie

The Assassin of Agron, I never thought I would liked the guy but Ivy made me do it! Who would have thought that he was hiding himself, protecting himself from the hurts in the world until one woman, Ivy, pulled him out of his lonely world, accepted him, scars and all, and loved him in return.

Vrex is a good man errrr alien after all.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    This Series is Amazing

This is a spin off of the Arcav series, of which The Arcav King's Mate is one of my absolute favorite books. These books are entirely different but just as compelling. I don't put spoilers in my reviews. All I can say is...alpha aliens, hot consensual sex, independent snarky women...what's not to like?

  • Amber

    Loved it

I think Ivy has been my favorite character in this series. It is a difficult choice because they are all so amazing. I love the world building and great story lines that are guaranteed in any Hope Hart book. If she writes it then I will definitely read it. Bravo on another 5 star read.
