The Threads Of Life (Demigods Academy #4) Reviews

Return to the Academy with Melany and her friends in this new season full of magic, mythology, and adventures.
I loved season one of this series so was very excited to start this second series and boy was it good! It’s full of magic, drama and a whole host of emotions and it also left me with lots of questions which has left me really needing the next book! Awesome! -
Once again another good story. The only issue I had with this one is the way Melany has been acting. I understand that she's in mourning because of Hades death but she needs to check her attitude especially with how she's been treating Lucian.
Other than that it's good to see everyone try to move on from the war and deal with the drama still going on around them. -
21/05/2020: The ending of the previous one felt a bit rushed and disappointing, now I really hope that this can fix it!
________
First of all, it might be the drawing style that seems different from the previous ones, it might be the black feathered wings, but this is my favorite cover. Complimented the outside, let’s move on to the inside.
This book is the proof that wanting a sequel a lot and then receiving it does not always meet expectations: perhaps, if I continued the story with my imagination, it would have been better. This novel is, in fact, the one I gave the lowest rating to: even with the previous one I was in doubt as to whether to give 2.5 stars, but in the end I opted for 3, this time I didn't want to round off.
At least I finally had confirmation of why time seemed to pass so quickly: the protagonist says that only thirteen months have passed since the beginning of everything… What do you mean? How did three years go by in thirteen months? We will never know.
As for the plot itself… Well, things happen… because they have to happen to keep the plot going. Some of them didn’t even seem in continuity with what happened before, like the Furies who are now mortal enemies with Melany, when I thought she had earned their respect. In any case, at the moment, we have many questions and no answers.
Let’s move on to the romance. This too leaves me more and more perplexed. To begin with, Persephone vanishes completely, just to stop Hades from being hindered; I was almost happy to imagine them both in the Elysium, at least it would have made more sense of this way of paving the way for Melany.
As for Lucian, who at first seemed the love interest, he is about to get dumped. As much as I prefer Hades, I feel sorry for him: he loves Melany and is trying, he does not deserve to be treated badly and then left, I hope that the authors opt for an open relationship and Melany can have both. Also because Melany can't say that she loves them both, but perhaps doesn't love Lucian so much… What do you mean?(x2) Above all, he does not deserve to be end up with this Cassandra (from the name was clear what role she would have, but the authors treated it as a great revelation).
Final prediction about my favorite character whose only scene marked the apex of the volume: at the moment he is MIA, so he will certainly return. I expected that Hades' return would have been the final twist of this volume, but perhaps the authors are keeping it for the next one.
I will therefore read the fifth because, by now you will have understood why, I am waiting for Hades (although I expect less and less from the series). -
Life after war isn't pretty.
Lucien is really pushing Melaney away from himself. Who wouldn't feel like they were going crazy when everyone keeps asking how you are doing? I'd be pulling my hear out. I probably wouldn't have lasted as long as Melaney did without snapping at everyone & running off. They need to understand people need to be alone to deal with grief. I sure do. It doesn't make it any easier & yes sometimes I went through a depression but eventually you get over it. It's hard to heal when people are constantly in your face. And none of them got to take a step back and process what they went through. What Lucian and everyone else don't seem to get is that Melaney loved Hades & felt like he was the other half of her soul. Sort of like a yin & yang soul. Lucien represents the light or white and Hades dark or black. She needs both in her life to feel whole. Lucien by himself is appearing needy with his constant needing to be with her or trying to touch her. In the meantime a new crisis arises people who are supposed to die aren't. A new girl at school gives visions to people that suggest something is wrong with the fates. Thanatos mentions a few things to Melaney but then he disappears. Melaney goes looking for him and I fear may never be heard from again. -
A new adventure awaits with a heavy dose of fate. This continuation starts off a bit after the ending of Year 3 and the heroes settling in after the battle and changes to come from it. New teachers are needed, ceremonies to go to, and of course a new mystery antagonist with a side of pleasehadescomeback. I had hoped the series would continue since I felt there was some loose ends with the story. Also, the battle with the Gods wasn’t necessary minor however it felt like the authors built the foreshadowing of Melany’s fate to be so so much more. I can’t wait for the next book after the cliffhanger dangled before us and how it will affect each character!

I was thrilled to find out Elisa s. Amore & Kiera Legend had another Demigods Academy in the making. Book 3 was supposedly the last and i felt Absalutely gutted when i finished it.
I have really enjoyed all 3 books before this one. Book 4 is no different i loved it.
This is an awesome read. We join Melany once again in the acadamy. She is an amazing character. I also love how this book has built the suspense into the goings on at the acadamy which has left us desperately seeking more. So i for one can say i am very excited for book 5.
These books are a must read I very highly recommend. -
I atleast had a bit hope that Mealny and Lucian will be back together and all of the mistakes that were made will be fixed but I was wrong. Mel is still not over Hades, not even a bit I guess. Idk Furies are fighting with her. The way Mel is treating Lucian is pathetic . He doesn't deserve to be treated like that. Secondly, if Titans are that good beings why are they not suspecting what Mel can? She's just a little girl compared to all the mighty beings out there. I really don't understand this concept. *cliffhanger alert*

I was thrilled to learn that Mel and her friends were coming back for a second season and the first book in season two was an excellent start. The start of the book was hard to get through, not because it was bad, but because you can feel Mel's sadness, grief, devastation and rage coming off the page. I feel just as devastated with the loss of Hades! When it picks up though we feel the new sense of purpose! The ending was killer but I look forward to seeing how this all plays out!

I expressed my displeasure of the author screwing up different things (saying where the main character met someone and how much time has passed to get to this point) and honestly it didn't get better. The more I nitpicked at these differences the more I hated the story line. Loving someone that much after 2 or 3 years is one thing. Loving them that much after 6ish months? Yea okay. I just couldn't finish it...

Decent story, but
Ok I admit I got sucked into reading this one after finishing the three book set.
I enjoyed the story and the world the authors created. Not a giant fan of the main character Melany. She is kind of crazy and gets away with so much.
My biggest issue is the ending.
No spoilers.
Seriously, is it not ok to actually tie up some of this story before the book ends?
Not sure I will go to the next. -
I guess it was just not my cup of tea
Spoiler alert! Daddy Hades dies, the author literally spends the whole 3 books dangling the hope of him returning like a carrot. Melanie dies at the end sacrificing herself for her friends. She ends up in a dream worlds with Hades and they make a statue of her. That’s the grand ending for her story. Not going to read the next season as it does not involve her or any of the others and this is the kind of thing you expect from YA academy series. Bye -
After the battle
Melany is lost. Hades is gone and no one can make her feel better. She cant even visit his hall. In a rage, she breaks the stump and finds a tunnel and gets to his hall to find Hades truly gone. New recruits are showing up and one is causing dread. Plus Melany and Lucien are having strange dreams. And Melany is stuck with the powers her friends gave her. And something is happening, something bad. Melany just has to figure out what. -
Chaos
This is a great series. I have enjoyed it. I think it would make a great TV series. I start these books and before I know it, it's over. I don't tell what is in the books I read. That is for you to read and find out. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I have. Off to the next book. -
meh
Compared to the first 3 books this one was a little boring. You follow Melany around as she experiences life after the Battle of the Gods. Something is brewing in the darkness and she needs the help of the fates to figure it out. It definitely sets up everything for the next book. This one felt like a filler, or I guess a breather after all the chaos Melany endured. -
Another great book!
I loved this book from start to finish! I was really glad that Melany was becoming more like herself and the cliff hanger has me hooked! I can't wait to read book 5 -
DNF. Skipped through after chapter 12 to the end.
Disappointed that the story was so short. But good in a way for me cos I couldn't stand Melany anymore, the way she treated Lucian...Should not have continue this book 4 at all since I wasn't happy with book 3 (RH theme). -
Demigod
Wow, I wasn't expecting the end. Another cliffhanger. These just keep getting more intriguing. They're awesome books. I'm not usually into books about the Gods but I'm definitely making a concession here. -
Something is Missing
Something is missing. I am all for book series, but the story is starting to lag. I'm compelled to finish it, but not because it's all that riveting. She could probably condense the story down to about 7 books. -
I was so excited to read a new season in this world! I just love Mel so much, and I love following her crazy adventures. I wait wait to read more!
-
What a read this one was. She is mourning the loss of hades and Lucien still wants her. Some sad parts. Plenty of action and what a cliff hanger again. -
Interesting take
-
It just never sucked me in enough to continue the series. Dnf.

Awesome awesome awesome
It was slow going at first but then it turned into a fantastic book I almost put it down one but I'm glad I didn't
