Twisted Kingdom (Royal Elite, #3) Reviews

    Ooooooof.

Honestly, I'm glad this series wasn't my first thing by Rina Kent or I might have never made it to the other series I loved.

I really enjoyed book one, but the book two and three writing felt like it was done by a different author. It was SO repetitive with the characters' inner thoughts and motivations. Literally, the same thoughts, emotions, and plot directives regurgitated themselves over and over again here. It just felt very...directionless, messy, and childish, sadly.

The bright side is that at least this was one of her earlier works, which means I have already seen how she has progressed with her writing and storytelling since then (as the series I first read by her were written later than this one).

And in Kent's defense, I also did read these connected series VERY out of order. As a result, I already knew some of the twists that occurred here and therefore didn't have that surprise/tension that I might have experienced otherwise. For that reason, I am rating this two stars instead of the one I was initially going to rate it.

Any why one star? Because of the initial reasons I mentioned above coupled with the fact that I just can't in good conscience rate a book I skimmed so heavily any higher than that.

But oh well. Still gonna continue my Rina Kent binge anyway!

Long live the King and the Queen!

I knew this book would be good and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Aiden and Elsa’s story has been quite a roller coaster ride. From the beginning they stared at each other across a school yard and had a connection that couldn’t be ignored. At the end of the last book Jonathan, Aiden’s father had made it a point to destroy what they had, in his quest to get back at Elsa for the sins of her mother.

In addition to Jonathan’s manipulations, which destroy all trust Elsa had in Aiden, there is still a lot Elsa doesn’t know about what happened when they were kids because her memories have been returning to her very slowly. Aiden fears those revelations will turn her against him even more than Jonathan.

Elsa finds herself surrounded by new and different characters in this book, which was a great surprise. I liked that a lot about the book as well as the fact that the rest of the horsemen, Kim and the Elsa’s rival Silver are returned. The relationship between Aiden and Elsa is scorchingly hot and steamy. Their passion is beautiful, all consuming, and violent at times. It’s like they can’t control themselves and can’t get enough of one another.

The intimate scenes were sizzling and the connection Aiden and Elsa share is much deeper as we find out more about their childhoods. I love the way Rina Kent writes so that you can feel the need they have for each other and though Aiden is sometimes a possessive and Jealous prick, he really just wants to protect Ella. He also has an extremely dirty mind and has no problem with telling her his every dirty thought.

Aiden is such a compelling character. He is a sociopath but he controls himself for the most part. His mind is funny and the parts of the book told from his point of view are awesome. We get to see how he his brain works and also how he feels about Elsa and even about his friends and other students.

“A moment later, he strides in our direction. He smiles at me so wide, I’m tempted to cut his face open. The only reason I don’t is because Elsa would hate me even more.
Knight can still do it, though. With the right encouragement.
I tuck that idea for later.”

This book also sets up some of the next books in the series. I want to know more and find out who the rest of the horsemen will end up with and what is they mystery between Xander and Kim. I would almost think that Kim’s brother Kai is their son, but his age doesn’t add up. So I don’t know what is going on with them. I can’t wait to find out more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

“When I grow up, I’m going to marry you.”
    “You can’t marry me.”
    Her face contorts. “Why not?”
“Mum says you have to love someone to marry them.”
“Then you can just love me.” She throws her hand in the air. “What’s so hard about that?”

alas, the conclusion of Aiden and Elsa's story is finally here.

    was everything answered? yes.
did everything live up to my expectation? ehhh..

this was a decent read and the writing was still good but the drama was a bit OTT for me and kind of all over the place and everything was kind of resolved pretty fast, especially when it came to the drama between Ethan (h's dad) and Jonathan (H's dad).

”What I feel for you isn’t only love, obsession, or addiction. It’s all of those and more.”

i still loved the characters and i reaaalllyyy can't wait to read Xander and Kim's book. their "relationship" is just full of mystery that i really wanna know why the hell Xander hates Kim!

Aiden is still crazy but very swoony here, and Elsa? weeelll she annoyed me in the beginning since i thought she was a bit too harsh on Aiden but i still liked how she didn't forgive him too easily and made him work for it. i mean, i would probably be as petty as her if i found out my boyfriend was "engaged" to someone else this entire time.

i think this was a nice conclusion to Aiden and Elsa's story and im so glad they got their HEA.

This series is just okay. Although this book was better than the last two books, however, it was still problematic and not entertaining.

It was good that Elsa and Aiden got their happy ending. The other characters were interesting too. Cole and silver, then? I kind of guessed them together in the first book when it was revealed that they are going to be stepsibling. And Silver is a completely changed person here. In the previous books, she was a bully and always tormented Elsa about Aiden. And now she doesn't even care about Aiden anymore. Isn't it weird? If the author decided to make Silver a protagonist in the future book, she should have started changing her before. Now the sudden shift of her character is completely unbelievable and obnoxious.

And, Silver and Aiden faked their engagement. She was territorial about him for other reason. Can you find the similarity? It sounds a lot like
The Peer and the Puppet and
The Punk and the Plaything by
    B.B. Reid

And Kimberly and Xander, another predictable book it will be. They were childhood friends, right. Does anyone remember
    Bully by
    Penelope Douglas ?

And Ronan and Teal, right? It will be interesting. At least I haven't found similarities yet but who knows.

I feel the author took inspiration from every bully romance, merged them together, and here is her books.

"What I feel for you isn’t only love, obsession, or addiction. It’s all of those and more."

About halfway I got bored. I just don't think they needed 3 fucking books doing exactly the same thing. the only thing i actually liked in this book is that aiden changed. even though he's still a psycho, he sat and thought things through before jumping to conclusions. unlike elsa.

Even though i thought about it for a millisecond i still wrote this when i read THAT scene: Please I lost all my respect for elsa in this book. Fuck this. She made a whole big deal about silver and aiden but when it comes to her and ronan, then she needs to think about it. Fuck it, she’s a bloody hypocrite and she doesn’t deserve shit.

Overall, i'm proud of them because they BOTH were hella toxic to each other. fucking psychopaths.

I'm giving 4.5⭐ to this book...
I think I will rate this couple trilogy as almost 4⭐...

Twisted kingdom was a lot more interesting than steel princess.
I finally was able to understand their past, even if it wasn't really a mystery.

I didn't get bored in this one, so it's a bonus. Aiden is still the same possessive psycho and Elsa is still stubborn like a stone, but at least they really evolved from that toxic relationship to something more stable.

I loved how Aiden were more human and show his care (sort of) for Elsa in this book. They're definitely a match.
I also enjoyed more of her new family and the boys interactions.

But I will take a break from this people, and maybe return to it after Cole's book...
A series with all 5 couples (Levi, Aiden, Xander, Ronan and Cole) in the same trope (dark bully enemies to lovers), is reaaaally too much to my taste, and I know that I will compare and I will find all the same.

    Sooooo I'll take a break. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂❤️

FIVE TWISTED STARS for Elsa and Aiden 💖💖💖!!!

    🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    I LOVED IT.

    I LOVED IT.

    I LOVED IT.

This was one of the hardest reviews to write and that is the reason why I took a few days of a break after I've read the book to write this review.

    Rina didn't disappoint.

She really shocked me with some parts and I totally loved it.

She wrote the story that kept my attention from the first to the last word.

It was really easy to read.

The storyline is so interesting that I couldn't put the book down because there were so many secrets which made me read until I discovered them all.

"Twisted Kingdom" is a dark high school bully romance with enemies to lovers trope.

This is the last book about Elsa and Aiden's story and the third book in the "Royal Elite" series.

    And...

    ...it's pure perfection.

I was so sad after I finished the last sentence because I became so connected with the main characters.

It was so hard to say goodbye to them even I know there are more books, in this series, in which they will be as side characters.

Elsa and Aiden's relationship is deep and broken, but also beautiful.

Something you can't find in every book.

They proved that true love doesn't know about a dark and painful past.

It's all about forgiveness and love.

Love that becomes every day bigger and stronger.

If you're looking for a dark romance series, this is the series you MUST TO READ NEXT!!!

    Highly recommended!!!

P.S. Can't wait for the next book in series 😱!!!

    P.S.S. Ronan is mine 😜😍❤🔥!!!

The final book to Aiden and Elsa's story brings much more intimate details. This book was incredibly done and has satisfied my expectations.

Who was dead is alive now, the person who was supposed to love turns out to be a monster and the devil pursues to give safety and love. The author has smoothened the rough surfaces but before that this incredible series dumped dynamite among chapters.
I absolutely love Aiden and Elsa's pairing. Rina Kent's heroes are not insta-loved, they are a-hole, obsessive and deviantly scrumptious. I recommend Rina Kent's books to bully romance lovers out there. Her books are dark.

  • Simran .

5 ”Aiden King and Elsa steel” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thought the worst monsters were the ones from my childhood. Turns out, my worst monster had the most hypnotic metallic eyes and the inkiest black hair. He has a penetrating gaze that dissects me and sees straight into the darkest depths of my soul.
My monster is all tall, powerful, and beautiful.
    My monster is Aiden King.

This trilogy ended with a BANG. I am not going to be forgetting their story for a long while. It’s imprinted in my mind. I honestly loose interest in characters when it comes to trilogy but fortunately I couldn’t get enough of Aiden and his possessive ways. This author is fucking brilliant and am thinking why the hell did I started it so late and at the same time glad that I finally did. Each book packed a hell of a punch. Their was so many unexpected twists and turns, mystery, suspense and whole lot of romance.

”Fuck them.” Aiden grips my chin with two fingers as his other hand yanks my boy shorts down my legs. “I need you, sweetheart. I fucking need to be inside you like I need air.”
    I need you, too.
But I don’t have to say it aloud. Aiden must’ve read it in my eyes. He really knows me more than I know myself.

What I loved the most was how I got to see the soft and vulnerable side to Aiden. Don’t worry he was definitely his arrogant, possessive and obsessive self but with whole lot of sweetness too. His love for Elsa was fierce and so beautiful. They truly were soulmates.

We finally got all the answers about their past and it honestly made me shed a few tears( which is really hard for me). How they had to pay for their parents mistakes. But then again it only made their journey more epic and amazing. They were each other’s strengths as kids as well as adults. I don’t know how this author does it but their chemistry was just as steamy and hot as the first time. Honestly each time just makes me blush more and more and I wound not have it any other way.

The secondary characters were just as funny and interesting as ever. I also loved the two newest addition Knox and Teal who are foster siblings of Elsa. I enjoyed how we got a little glimpse into Ethan and Jonathan’s mind as well. Ethan was truly an amazing father to Elsa.

    She’s mine. Fucking mine.
It’s not only her body or her heart that I’m interested in, I want her entire soul so she’ll never be able to leave me.
Some would argue this isn’t the right thing, but fuck the right thing.
Elsa and I didn’t meet under the right circumstances. We just met, and then we re-met, and then we became inseparable.

I am sad that their story has come to an end, I feel like I still haven’t had my fill of them and here I thought I was going to get bored(silly me). Their story shows us that we can overcome anything and always to look for the future. I can’t say it enough but you need this author in your life ASAP. Fall in love with Aiden just like I did.

P.S : I think Ronan and Teal are going to have their story. A arranged marriage romance. That’s my best guess. Also I can’t wait to get my hands on Cole and Silver’s story. ♥️

  • FictionalDen

So I gave the first book 5 stars
    The second book 4 stars

    And now this
See the thing is, when the characters constantly have sex all the damn time, there is a breaking point for some people. And the third book was my breaking point.

This series should have been a duology. It would have been hands down one of the best series I would have read this year. But this last book ruined everything for me. I’m sorry but this one was filled with TOOO MUCH EXTRA DRAMA. Like the side characters are getting their own books, so I don’t want to read about them here. I just want Aiden and Elsa. But even their story was being dragged on and on. Lmao this one scene god. I have to speak about it because IDEK. So Aiden and Elsa are LOCKED in the basement. So what do they do? 🙄
They had sex....... Anal sex for the first time.

And each book Elsa omg Idek what happened to her she went from being strong to being hypnotized by Aidens dick.

So anyway the two stars is for the epilogue because I’m happy that Aiden and Elsa finally got their happy ending and was also happy to read that Aiden was still as possessive as before.

Run and I'll chase. Hide and I'll conquer. Time to make your move, sweetheart.
Tropes in this book: sports, high school, bully, non-con/dub-con

2.5⭐ for Aiden and his golden retriever-ness

So the end of the trilogy wasn't as spectacular as I thought it would be. But it's way better than Asstrid-Levi so I really shouldn't be comparing. But I'd say it was a neat ending to the trilogy.

    THIS IS NOT SPOILER FREE

I'm going to start with Aiden, compared to him in
Steel Princess he opened up a lot more through his POVs. Aiden was always either sarcastic, insecure, possessive or in love - there's no other side to him.

    When Aiden is insecure, he:
Elsa is slowly pulling away from me. I can feel it down to my soul and damn bones
The fact that she erased me this fast deepens the dark hole inside my chest
If she can get over me so quickly, why the fuck has she told me she loved
me questions himself how can he fuck her up so that she will go back to him. But Elsa can't be bothered to give a fuck because:
He chose to have us in a place where my back is the only thing he sees
this book showed her stepping up to him (at least for 1/4 of the book, more than the previous ones)

And when Aiden can't get her back:
Being away from her for an entire day is messing with my senses. I’m on a fucking withdrawal and it’s irritating and pissing me off. I can only return to normal when Elsa’s beside me where she belongs
he feels helpless and it is a lot coming from him since he was closed off in the previous 2 books. At times he felt like:
For her, I was another boy, while I dreamt about her every time I managed to sleep. For ten years, she’s been a constant in my life, but I was only a stop in hers
I’m all in, but you always have a foot out. Even when we’re together, that brain of yours is always thinking of an escape plan
they were at an end because Elsa refused to trust him after she found out.

    When Aiden is possessive, he:
This thing inside me that beats for her is boundless. This time, only death would do us part
reminds himself he has to fight for her. He confirms that:
Am I too far gone for this girl? Yes
probably he doesn't have any way out anymore. Regardless:
I'll protect her even if it's the last thing I do
he vows to keep her safe like the hero he is. When he is angry and he can't handle Elsa he:
You’ll be soaking my dick when I fuck the defiance out of you
tells her to continue her nonsense so he can go rough on her. But it's not all sex with Aiden because:
Turns out, I’m a selfish bastard who wants it all. Both her light and her darkness. Her best and her worst. Her everything
he has the lovey side to him too.

When Aiden is in love he:
If a kiss had a purpose, this one would be all about finding each other
kisses Elsa like he is finding himself again. He doesn't see himself:
For the rest of our lives, I want to be the only one who witnesses her breaking and support her through the storm. I want to be the one who soothes her ache when she needs soothing. The one who wipes her tears when they need wiping. The one who lifts her up when she needs lifting. I want to be there for her, full stop
    with any other girl because
What I feel for you isn’t only love, obsession, or addiction. It’s all of those and more. Do you know what that means, sweetheart? It means I can’t live without you
there's no one else who makes him feel that way. If Elsa is by his side it makes:
Anything that involves having you by my side is the perfect plan
him feel whole and he can't think of anything else:
There hasn’t been a day where I haven’t thought about you. Every time I manage to sleep, I dream of you.

If I was Elsa, I really won't be able to see any other man (no Knox/Cole/Ronan/Xander/ whoever) because:
He’s so caring and attentive, I actually have nightmares about a life without him
    he's:
I can handle the intense, dirty side of Aiden — sometimes — but I’m completely helpless in front of his soft side
so fucking cute at times. But then again, who:
I want him to own me. I want him to fuck my brains out like he can’t breathe without me just like I can’t breathe without him
would be a better partner than Aiden when his hips don't lie?

I really really want to include some spoilers so I've censored it here:

Overall a nice end to the trilogy, I liked this book the best because there were less question marks for me and I understood it more. Maybe one day if I'm rich I will get this book.

  • The Girl Murdered by Her TBR

    4.75 stars!!!

I freaking loved this book but I do have minor complains about it. This could have been a 5 star read but unfortunately I found some things that I didn't really like.

This was a great series. I was excited and intrigued with Aiden's story because he seems really mysterious and dangerous when I read Cruel King. He was described as a guy with sociopathic behavior but when I read this I think the term should not be psychopath/sociopathic but cold and cruel. I think describing him as a psychopath/sociopath is a bit too much given that Aiden's personality in this book is not so severely cruel, I think?

I have no problem with the plot because even though it is semi-clichèish I enjoyed the plot twists. I liked the characters but I occasionally do get annoyed with them. I also think that this should have been a duology not a trilogy. I think that some part of this book was unnecessary. I liked that this book has a psychological vibe in it (I won't discuss it here, just read it, you'll know what I mean).

I am having a hard time rating this book because even if I didn't like some of the scenes, this series is soooo good. The main characters' chemistry is so powerful and I love, like really really love the other characters in this book especially Ronan and Kim.

I am freaking excited about Black Knight! Give me Kimmy's and Xander's story please Rina? I want Ronan's story too. Right now. Please?!

There was a time when I would’ve never cared for this genre but now I can’t get enough of it. I’ve read a few dark romance books and I always try to experiment with different authors but I found that Rina’s books cater so well to my expectations. There’s just something about her writing style I can’t quite place that ends up pulling me into her clutches. I also love the mental health representation in her books that makes me resonate so much with the characters.

    WOOOOW

  • Arena♡

This book ended with a BANG! and it's like the story is engraved in my mind. The whole trilogy was filled with secrets, lies and deceit with so many twists and turns that I never saw coming. Oh, and the romance!! Is it weird if I want an Aiden in my life? The same Aiden, who is hell-bent on destroying my life because of a grudge in the past?

Well, even if it is...no one can change my mind!! Aiden was such a sweet person under the hard exterior. He loved Elsa so much and was always by her side. He may have been possessive and an asshole, but he still let Elsa hold her own in situations. Some may think that the bullying went far at times, but honestly, I enjoyed it and it felt like Aiden did it for her own good, to make her strong (and also for his twisted mind.)

    Run and I’ll chase.
    Hide and I’ll conquer.
Time to make your move, sweetheart.

    Plot:

The ending of the last book had me torn up with my jaw on the floor

Okayyy..inappropriate😂😂, lets stick to this one:

So, like I said, the ending of the last book had me torn up between 'Loving Aiden' and 'Hating Aiden'.

So, after the big bomb drop: and , it took me a lot of time to reel from the after shock. Aiden and Elsa are now enemies but Aiden hasn't given up on their relationship yet and continues to pursue her.

And even after they get together, it isn't over yet. There is still one missing piece and that is Elsa's past. A past she doesn't remember, that was buried under the ashes of the great fire.

This book was definitely a page turner and had me on the edge of my seat. I didn't want their story to get over and..did I mention how much I love Aiden?

I’m screwed. There’s no way I’ll be able to live without Aiden King.

I feel you girlll!! I have no idea what I'm gonna do now!! cuz I won't be able to live without him!

The side characters were amazing especially Ronan! and I would highly recommend this book!!

(P.S: I hate Teal. She was so annoying. She didn't take interest in anything and honestly, she felt like living decor in the corner of the room.)

  • ✨ Lucy ✨

✨✨✨I couldn't wish for a better ending. Since how it started I'm shocked about how good was the end.
I had very high expectations and this book met all of them.
I can’t describe it, I think you should read all the series to understand what I'm feeling right now.
The only advice I can give is that sometimes is good to leave our confort zone, if I didn't do it, now I couldn't understand all these beautiful and meaningfull dark romance books. I know it can be really triggering but sometimes it's worth the risk.
    I gave it 4.95 STARS..⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Aiden and Elsa have become incredible leads. Well, that was something.

I think with this series... I like a lot of it but there's always something keeping me from really really like it and I don't know what it is. I don't know if I need the characters to be more fleshed out or if it bothers me the fact that they're so young.

I don't know how these books are marketed as but I always thought of them as YA and why are authors so afraid of making them NA or adult? YA is such a large crowd but then again, at some point it will hurt your characters when having really mature (and I'm not saying YA cannot have it) content because some people might not be comfortable reading YA smut. Or barely legal, whatever.

So yeah, I like them but I don't love them.

Cruel Prince has been my favorite book so far but Aiden and Elsa were fun to read.

My monster is tall, powerful, and beautiful. My monster is Aiden King.

Gahhhhh! I want a monster like Aiden King, I love that sexy psychopath!

They say one second is all it takes for everything to be flipped upside down.

Rina Kent flipped my world upside down the day she introduced me to Aiden King and his unapologetic, alpha ways.

Showing weakness is the easiest way to be beaten at your own battle with your own soldiers.

The way Aiden was in this book with Elsa completely melted my heart. His focus was her. He needed her more than he needed air to breathe and he proved that he would burn the whole world down to keep her safe and I am here for it. He’s so alpha, so possessive and such a psycho but when you witness those vulnerable moments, I fell for him so much harder than I ever thought was possible.

    Run and I’ll chase.
    Hide and I’ll conquer.
Time to make your move, sweetheart.

I highlighted so much of this book. The stuff Aiden was coming out with was so damn swoony! Rina Kent bought her A game with Twisted Kingdom and I was so damn mad every time I had to stop reading to adult. I savoured every word because i didn’t want Aiden and Elsa’s story to be over.

I’m screwed. There’s no way I’ll be able to live without Aiden King.

Elsa, girl. I feel you. I FEEL YOU
I have no idea what I’m going to do with myself now we get no more Aiden. Rina Kent, you have broken me with this series. I will longer be able to appreciate sweet guys ever again.

Do yourself a favour... if you haven’t started this series, do it. Go in with an open mind because Aiden isn’t the hero, he’s a fucked up psycho who loves with his whole heart and soul and if you let him, he will steal yours too.

Did this need to be a trilogy? Probably not. It did feel too drawn out at certain points, and in my opinion, it would have made for stronger books if it had been just a duology. Nonetheless, it was a wild time and I flew thorough it.

I'm rating the book as the whole trilogy and I got to say this was very unexpected.

Not only it was steamy but it had a plot going on side by side and that my friend, is quite hard to find in this genre.

My favourite book from the trilogy but I still don't like Aiden and how he never shows any emotions.
I am happy that we had more of Teal and Knox in here.

So many questions were finally answered!

Twisted Kingdom was so hard to put down. Ugh, so freaking hard. I just wanted to know what was going to happen and if my ship was going to sail. Thankfully, everything made me so happy even if I had so much drama as well!

Remember how I mentioned that we got so many answers? Yeah, well we definitely did. I don't think I've ever had a book answer all these crazy questions in my mind. Yet, this book did the impossible. Again, so happy that this was written! Heck my babies Elsa and Aiden were completely adorable and the epilogue gave me life.

That being said, I know this book has standalones and I'm super excited to dive into them as well. I just want to know what's happening with Aiden's friends - like so badly! Hoping to get some questions answered about them as well!

This one had the “who did this to you trope” but it came out of the female main character’s mouth rather than the MMC. 👏🏼

So much happened in this one! Elsa went back to considering Aiden an enemy when she finds out his is already engaged to someone else. Aiden has to prove that he was never going to go through with that engagement to win Elsa back. Elsa has traumatic flashbacks of her and Aiden’s past and there are a lot of things finally answered in this one.

I’m officially obsessed with Aiden King & fell in love with his possessiveness and his devotion and love for Elsa.

This series is dark, steamy, angsty and everything that I love in a dark romance.

My favorite character in all of these books is actually a side character — Ronan. He is HILARIOUS & I couldn’t get enough of him. I’m really excited for his book!

I really enjoyed how this story wrapped up for Aiden and Elsa. ✨

    Mild Spoilers

Laty and her sex addict self still hasn't freaking read Vicious and hated The Kiss Thief because it didn't have that much sex, so I feel like I want to bag on Aiden and this series because of that alone😂 but sadly, I actually do like Aiden and can see why she loves him (the possessive NON-sharing type always gets to me😅). And now that I'm this far, I screwed myself over because I HAVE to read the next books now, and I need Jonathan's and Cole's books🤦 which btw, if Silver is a virgin or has only had sex with Cole, then it better be the same for Cole, and none of that "he had sex with the girl on the track team" crap🙄. Ronan also better not be into sharing cuz I'm not down with that. Xander I'm still on the fence with, so i guess I will see how I feel in his book.

Elsa was a bit better in this, she wasn't as annoying. Aiden I still love (gosh danggit). But the writing still kind of ruins it for me. It was just okay, nothing special. Some sayings, dialogue, and actions are a bit repetitive, and it just made it boring, even the dirty talk. I think I wanted a bit more conversation between them instead of just sex all the time. I needed a deeper emotional connection instead of just a physical one.

The plot was just okay. It started out interesting, but instead of all the mind blowing revelations I felt like we needed, all the bread crumbs just ruined it all for me, and it took any surprises away. And the whole thing with Silver is still stupid btw. Then the ending was SUPER anticlimactic. Really? They get stuck in the basement and that's it???🤦 no big blowout of confrontation or anything. Even the confrontation between Jonathan and Ethan was just bland. The epilogue was really cute, but the "climax" just ruined it a bit for me.

Overall, this is just an okay series. The characters are what really made the book, because the plot definitely didn't. I like how it's not too angsty or have a lot of OW drama or anything like that, it made it an easy read. On the other hand, it also made it a less excitable and interesting read too. I will be reading the next books because I'm this far, but here's to hoping the writing gets better🤞.
