An eccentric blend of regurgitated cosmic horror, pulpy, brutal fast-paced stories. A mysterious disease in connection with an incorporeal tribe. A picture that guides one man to a forest in Lebanon, where the roots grow for other reasons. A tale of knuckle-headed brothers bring ancient trolls to life, who are in search for their child. The diary of an astronaut's brutal survival after a mysterious gas is released from ancient giraffe bones found on the moon. A comedy-horror of unimaginable time travel and a female villain craving power and rule. Enjoy the contents: sip slowly!
From the Belly of the Goat Reviews
-
This is a slam-bang brutal collection of horror stories from an author who is destined to make his mark in the genre. The stories are not interlinked, but they carry a thematic quality of man struggling against forces outside of his sphere of understanding. All are different. All are worthwhile.
There are five stories, plus a bonus one at the end. They run the gambit from celestial giraffes, to classic tropes of golems and trolls (old-school European troll stories, not fuzzy-headed toys), to a near-unstoppable parasite, to an emerging albino race. The stories move at a fast-paced violent jerking motion, forcing you through the paces of the story with barely a chance to breathe. One can only sit back and enjoy the ride. -

From the Belly of the Goat is a very entertaining collection of tales that mix a little bit of bizarro and splatter horror with nostalgic, pulpy horror, fantasy, and adventure. I definitely recommend this collection for horror fans and people who want some fun, breezy reads with a little edge to them. -
Wow! There were some really cool stories in this collection, including an ancient spacefaring giraffe.
However, there were a number of grammatical errors & sentence structure issues that really took me out of the stories. Some sections were hard to understand because of this.
If this were to be beta read or edited, I think the improvements would make this an excellent collection to have on my bookshelf. Until then, I’ll have to pass.
