  I loved the story but hated how it was told. It didn’t flow very well. The h, Bria who in my head looks like Kerry Washington, doesn’t give her cheating ex a 2nd chance & I’m with her. Her tirade was glorious! Once that trust is broken, it’s broken. Nuttin you can do about it. She’s like me in that she simmers angrily for almost a year. The h meets Carrington, the H, who’s played by Tony Goldwyn in my head 😆 & is a confirmed bachelor. He’s a little too smooth & polished imo. But fireworks happen & she’s sunk. After 5-6 weeks of orgasms, the H panics & ghosts her. What is this? College? Grrrrr. BUT! She gets a parting gift. Oopsie. So cheating ex had a girl with Marla, who’s Naomi Campbell in my head & Bria gets a mini H. And the H missed the h so he came around & Oh look! His 2nd accidental kid in his lifetime. So then everything is tied up into a neat little bow at the end. Fin.

  The story is convoluted. He is has been neglecting her husband in favor of her career, low and behold he cheats on her, unfortunately the other woman has his baby. He feels the need to come clean, now this is after the baby is here. He is is justifiable upset and demands a divorce, husband wants to work it out after all they have been together since they were teens. Her answer is no. So a year later while still wallowing in her grief, she meets Carrington at an office party.by

  This was my first time reading a book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were real and the story line kept me reading. The only flaw was that with the style of writing using flashbacks to tell parts of the story there was a continuity/ story line issue. It did not take away from the overall story, but it did made one transition scene a little choppy.

  I loved the pace of this novella
  
  The story was so well written and the storyline believable. The main characters and supporting characters were brilliant I really like Maya, she was loyal, funny and a charismatic figure in the storyline.
  Bria was fierce and well developed, I like Carrington also. I'd love to read more about these two as they're lives change for the better and their family grows.

  The love between Bria and Carrington had to be fate. I mean of all the women in the Vegas both men met Marla there and then she would be the cause of destruction of the marriage which was how Bria became single and started a relationship with Carrington...yeah yeah sounds like an episode of housewives of however but I liked it.
