Kyle Mitchell has forged his own path in life. He’s happy with his job as the head of horse breeding operations at Untamed, working for his best friend, Rand. Knowing his family has never accepted his sexuality, Kyle is shocked to find out he’s expected to be at his brother’s wedding with his boyfriend… a man who doesn’t exist.

After inheriting Untamed from his parents, Rand Everette is living his dream. His quiet life is turned upside down when his best friend, Kyle, asks him to be his fake boyfriend for his brother’s wedding. Faking chemistry won’t be difficult. They already know almost everything about each other and live together. How hard could it be?

What will Rand think when he finds out Kyle told his brother he not only has a boyfriend but his Daddy Dom as well? Will they be able to find a way to pull it off or will it all blow up? With the Mitchell family involved anything is possible, but maybe what starts as a fake relationship is just what Kyle and Rand need to find their way to each other.

This 75k word novel involves two adult men in love, as well as an age play/ABDL relationship.

    Re-read June 2022

I can read this over and over again. I really love this book.

    -----------------------------------

This is the second book I’ve read by Carly Marie and I’m becoming quite the fan.

Kyle has worked as a ranch hand at Untamed for the last 8 years. He’s become best friends with Rand, who inherited the ranch when his parents died. The two have always been attracted to each other, but have never been open about it to each other.

When Kyle gets a call from his brother demanding he be at his wedding, Kyle refuses. His brother is a major dick about it and tells him he better show up or he’ll tell their parents Kyle wants them to visit for a month. Since that’s the last thing Kyle wants, he agrees. But he tells Elliot he’s bringing his boyfriend. No, not his boyfriend, his Daddy..

Kyle isn’t sure why he said the thing about him having a daddy, but he just needed to outsmart his brother, who only wants him there are the token gay, so he can make partner in the firm he works at.

When Kyle asks Rand to help him out by being his date for the wedding, Rand agrees. When Kyle mentions the daddy thing Rand isn’t so sure anymore.

But he has to help Kyle out with his awful family, so he agrees to do it. But they do need to practice if they want to pull off a believable Daddy/boy relationship. So off they go to get them some sippy cups and toys….

The reason for these guys to try age play was flimsy at best, but somehow Carly Marie made me believe in it. Especially because these guys didn’t just jump into the age play, but had their doubts at first themselves. And I loved that. I loved how they just tried some things at first and went from there.

I was also glad there were no diapers involved. Now I’ve gotten quite used to them in my age play books, but it’s not really my thing. So to see that the age play things I do like were included in this, and there were no diapers in sight made me a very happy girl.

I did think it wasn’t quite necessary for them to be so open about their relationship and kinks to everyone around them, but here it just worked. Especially because it all started out as a joke, so people just went with it.

This was sweet, cute, and devoid of any relationship angst. It was wonderful.

This book just wasn't for me.

The power dynamic felt forced, and the epilogue was unsatisfying.

The MCs research the Daddy/little lifestyle because Kyle tells his family he has a Daddy to get out of his brother's wedding invitation. With enough practice, they both get into it.

Except that's's not how kink works.

I needed more sexual chemistry and romance.

The constant mention of binkies, sippy cups, and stuffed animals was not sexy at all.

I liked the ranch setup but didn't care for the trajectory of the story.

All the ranch hands being so accepting of the whole Daddy thing wasn't even remotely realistic.

    Skimmed a bunch, almost DNF.

I love that this book let the readers grow along with the kinky lifestyle with the MCs. It feels realistic and admirable seeing them together in the lifestyle. Such an interesting take. I enjoy the love development as they shared intimate, romantic and sweet moments. I kept smiling when they had their cute moments together. It was heartwarming ❤️❤️

I like how easy it is to be absorbed into the ageplay scenes they had despite them having an uncertain start. As Kyle sink into his little side, I feeel all kinds of comfort reading what he was feeling. It was nice and refreshing.

I wouldn’t say this is heavy on ageplay because they did have their Kyle/Rand moments; sexually and romantically. Also, Kyle switched easily between big and little. This balanced out their kinky lifestyle. It’s nice that Carly Marie always writes it like that. Great dynamic.

Overall, this was sweet and swoony. Thanks Brooke for bringing this to my attention. I love me some good ageplay ;)

“Yes. I love you. Somewhere around the time you called me Daddy while hiding under the table from flying blocks, I realized I knew I was in way over my head with you. I knew then you would be easy to love if I let myself. I knew I loved you when you were in the corner sniffling, and I couldn’t think of anything but holding you and taking your sadness away.”

Same as before, Kyle and Rand are adorable and I thought they complimented each other well!

    3.5-4 stars

turned out i liked this book way more than i thought. Rand and Kyle were perfect for each other. this was the fake dating trope taken to another level with some kink.

I think that this was done well for those who are getting in to age play like myself. i am still trying to decide if it is something i like or if it still doesn't click for me.

I really like how this book was written to, it was easy to read and addictive that i didn't want to put it down.

I hope that more come with this series, i really love some cowboys/ranch hands haha

Not quite 4 stars but I'm rounding up because of how much I enjoyed the narration.

    — close proximity
    — daddy kink
    — age play

Sweet. Hot. Fun. Low angst. All the feels.

This was a surprising little gem which sucked me right in from the very first page. Rand is the owner of Untamed, a horse breeding ranch, and hires Kyle, to head the breeding program. They become best friends over the course of working together for eight years, but they have secretly wanted each other from the very beginning.

Kyle’s douchebag brother, Elliot, is getting married and insists that Kyle attend the wedding. Kyle doesn’t want to go and tries to get out of it by claiming he has a boyfriend who is a Daddy Dom. But Elliot doesn’t believe him and calls his bluff, so Kyle asks Rand to pretend to be his boyfriend and accompany him. Since neither of them knows anything about the daddy dom/little boy lifestyle, Rand suggests they prepare for the wedding by researching the culture and role playing before flying out.

    Likes
    — Characterization, especially insight into Kyle’s insecurities and Rand’s thought process as he becomes a Daddy Dom.
    — How great a Daddy Rand is: nurturing, protective and so damn sexy!!!
    — Their journey into this alternative lifestyle.
    — Wonderful explanation of dd/lb culture without being pedantic.
    — Great relationship development as Rand grows into his Daddy role and Kyle enters his “little” space.
    — I expected the age play (pretty intense) to skeeve me out, but it was tastefully handled.
    — Delicious smut!

“His cock felt like it was getting harder and harder as the spanking continued, and my inner thighs were wet with his precum.”

    Quibble
    — Purely subjective, but I was pretty apprehensive as they were trying to figure out dd/lb and debating how far to take the age play thing.

    4.2❣️
I had so much fun reading it. Kyle was just adorableeeee.
Kyle's brother is getting married, and they require the presence of Kyle (who has never gotten along with his family) to attend the wedding, for obvious reasons he doesn't want to go, so he makes up excuses that would embarrass his family if goes: like a boyfriend. Which is his Daddy. BUT they don't work though, so he have to go to the wedding and show that he didn't lie. So he asks her friend, Rand, to pretend to be her boyfriend and daddy...😏
I really liked how they learn from each other what they like, their limits and how they feel comfortable. What happens at the wedding was a bit of a stretch, but I had fun and am happy for them. There were times when I was surprised that I said wow, and now it's just going to be like this? It made me a little difficult to believe because as I said, a radical change in their lives. Buuuut I really have a great time reading it❣️

Rand y Kyle me gustaron mucho.

  • Jamie

I really enjoyed this one. Well for the most part. Kyle and Rand have an interesting relationship. I loved that Rand just went with Kyle basically signing him up to be his daddy. Even though neither of them had any idea about this lifestyle, they both worked at it. Turns out they both really enjoyed it.

What I didn't like was all the miscommunication with either of them not wanting to end the daddy/little relationship. It was so frustrating how neither of them would speak their mind and let their feelings out. It's literally the last chapter when they finally discuss it. Ugh...

Other than that, it was a good, rather angst-free book which was nice.

I enjoyed this. I read this long before now, but I’ve no idea why I never marked it as read.

This has nothing to do with how I feel about this book, but I have to be honest. If I’d realized that the Elliot in
Nathan was the Elliot from this, I would have NEVER purchased and read
    Nathan. Seriously, NEVER.

Sweet and straightforward, I found Carly Marie's Untamed an enjoyable read. The friends to lovers aspect of the story is well done and believable. (Though I was shaking my head a bit at these two guys - and that always makes me nuts).

I haven’t read an age play book since ages because they often don’t catch me but this one was such a delightful treat! I adored Kyles and Rands relationship development so much and they both just really worked out well together🤍
They were so cute together and had me smiling several times, it’s such a comfort read.
But I wouldn’t say that it’s heavily placed on ageplay since Kyle and Rand do have their romantic and sexual moments (what I really enjoyed they were beautiful).
One think I want to point out what I really really adored was that both didn’t really had strict roles like Kyles is the little in this dynamic and Rand the daddy and you would think they keep it strict with who is topping whom but that’s not the case. Rand wanted Kyle to top him since he enjoys it a lot and both of them a vers, so yeah I just wanted to say that I loved that this was in the book, since i haven’t really read it in any other ageplay book.

A lovely fake boyfriends trope with a touch of Daddy kink to go with it. The result? A real sweet/fun story about finding out who u are and what you need. 🤭❤💜

I felt that the fake boyfriend side of it was handled in a very innovative way. Kyle receives a call by his obnoxious brother who forces him to go to his wedding with his boyfriend, Kyle doesn't have a boyfriend so he asks his best friend and boss Rand to pretend with him and of course he agrees. But, Kyle also told that his boyfriend was his daddy, so both of this guys start a series of trial and error (they have 7 weeks before the wedding) to learn how to navigate that type of relationship. But they fall in love before the wedding, so when they go they are not pretending no more. The way that was developed was really new.

Continuing with the kink side, they start buying things, getting new habits and talking differently to one another, and to me as a reader it was really interesting to see how both of them started awkwardly, not knowing what to do and then they became so comfortable and in tune with each other that they truly became Daddy/Little, no faking. It shows the build up and that that's a very sensitive dynamic that needs some level of respect, trust and understanding for it to work and it was beautiful to see it shown that way.

My reason for the 4 stars is that I had issues with the writing, sometimes the conversations seemed like a lecture because they were so long, it didn't happen all the time but it was enough for me to notice, specially at the beginning. Also, the book focuses more on them learning about kink, the wedding happened like at the 20% of it and thank god because to me it was awkward, they exaggerated their relationship to make other people feel uncomfortable and to me that felt totally unnecessary and childish.

But I still liked it a lot and had some good laughs while they were trying stuff. It was warm and lovely. 🥰❤

This is probably my favorite age play book of all time. I loved reading about Kyle and Rand's journey from friends, to fake Daddy/little, to real Daddy/little and boyfriends. The conflict wasn't too OTT and was a good lead up to Elliot's redemption. I've read this book three times and have found something new to love each time.

  • AussieMum

    4.5 stars
Really enjoyable read after several duds. This was sweet, fun and so damn sexy. I loved Rand and Kyle. Their foray into a fake-Daddy/boy relationship was unusual but was full of romance, as well as humour and heart. And the sex...was...hot!! And that cover...OMG!!!!

  • Drusilla

For those of you who are uncertain about this book. This one is heavy on the Daddy/little lifestyle. Kyle is almost the entire book in his little space.
So, that can be exhausting. I still can't decide if this is really my kink. But this book was very interesting for me, because I could learn new aspects and understand the Daddy/little dynamic even better now.
In any case, it's very lovingly written and I also laughed maniacally as Kyle and Rand shove their lifestyles down Kyle's awful family's throats. 🤣🤣🤣
Kyle is a freaking adorable character that you have to love. No wonder Rand slips into the Daddy role so quickly and has to be there for him.

I felt foolish, but I wasn’t entirely certain how to carry the bear. Did I hold it by its arm, did I cradle it like a baby, did I hug it, did I hold it in one arm? Holding a bear shouldn’t have been so confusing, and it wasn’t until then that I started to understand how much my parents had caused me to miss out on as a child.

I was going to dinner with my family with a man who looked like a damn cover model, and I was going to be wearing cartoon briefs. My life had turned sideways at some point, and it was perfect.

YESSSSS and a million time more yes! This book was the best EVER from Carly Marie! - I know, I say the same after every book, but it's true! Every new book is so much better then the last, and OMG this book was holy-fucking-amazing.

It was sweet, lovely, cute, romantic and erotic and HOT, and all the aww-feels!

The storyline and the characters were amazing, I loved reading it and loved how everything had turned out. The Daddy/Boy things were super cute, I loved when Kyle was little and played with his toys, and all the stuffies he had awwww, cutest book ever. And loved that it wasn't sex themed in the beginning just after a while. And how good the sex scenes were, aww! Loved, loved, loved this book so much!

Age-play is my all time weakness, but this was soooo cute and perfect! I loved Kyle and Rand and how they figured everything out. I liked their everydays and how easy were everything for them. It was so good and real, I can totally see this story in the real life. I love when a story is so good that I can easily lost myself in it. Carly Marie did it again, and now this book is my favorite from her! I really can't wait to meet her in February (ShiMMer) and buy all the books, especially this one!

Highly recommend this book! Really! If you love age-play books, you'll love this! Cutest story ever♥

  • Doug

I was very pleased with how well-written the daddy kink/age play aspect of this book is, and Rand & Kyle are adorable together! But there are two things that bothered me:

One is the fake-relationship, where Kyle wants his friend Rand to pretend to be his Daddy at his brother's wedding, just to piss of his family. The whole arrangement is absurd even for a romance, and it was comical how far they were willing to go to make it believable. It felt like this was just a bad excuse the author came up with to start a DDLB dynamic between the two MCs.

The second is how comfortable they were at displaying their kinks in public, and how unbothered everyone seemed to be about it. Just a bit too unrealistic considering what those kinks were.

The thing is: None of this was actually necessary. The book would have been much better if it was just about the two of them discovering and exploring this new dynamic in their relationship.

If you like age play, this book is definitely worth reading! Just try to ignore how absurd some of these situations are.

You've read fake relationships, but have you read a fake DD/lb relationship?

Kyle's family is driving him bonkers. His entitled brother is getting married in order to secure a partnership at his lawfirm. Kyle wants nothing to do with it, so he tells his family he's in a relationship with his best friend and boss, Rand. Not just any relationship, a Daddy/boy relationship!

Now he just has to tell Rand.

A sweet romance in Carly Marie's signature style. Two men who have no idea what they're getting into manage to swing a sweet hea. I loved how cute these two were together. Kyle was adorable with his blocks and Rand's old bear. Rand was a sweeter Dom -- very light on the discipline.

Tied for my favorite Carly Marie book! 5/5

This didn't work for me on a few levels.
The whole premise of Kyle pretending to have a Daddy Dom just to piss off his family seems immature to me. Rand agrees immediately and it all felt too clinical...not enough chemistry.

The ranch crew accept this unusual situation way too easily.

I'm not sure if this kink does anything for me. I needed their relationship to me more sexual and less milk bottles and stuffies.

  • Chelsea

This was a very cute and sweet read. Surprisingly I found it less kinky than I was expecting, I didn't feel like there was a big cross over between their sexual relationship and Daddy/Boy time so some newer people to age-play might find this was ok. Although.... I don't quite trust my own opinion on what is 'not kinky', read some more reviews first people!

I didn't really mind the overly dramatic family and wedding, it was silly but fun. I did get a bit confused around when/why Kyle and Rand wouldn't talk to each other about continuing their Daddy/Boy relationship after the wedding, one minute they were both thinking, 'of course this will be the same' and the next Kyle is crying because he'll miss it? Anyway, just a small little niggle. Overall light and sweet read.

  • Natalie

Had I read this one I might’ve been a little shocked. This is the second daddy and little relationship I’ve read. The first was a short and sweet already established relationship. This one is from the beginning.

I liked how they’re already friends and how open pretty much everyone is. Even if it started as a joke the relationship between them is sweet.

It felt a little bit overboard around the family but with a brother and parents like that I don’t blame them. I liked how the hands reacted. Favourite characters were Kerrie and the grandma. The extra was also adorable.

  • Jenny Wood

    Kyle and Rand.

Okay, full disclosure, I had a little trouble getting into this one. I love a good Daddy story and am in new territory with age play and little's, but I was intrigued. I found it very hard to believe that neither of these guys had any prior knowledge of the kink and kind of fell into it by chance and I cannot stand the whole fake boyfriend/pretend trope. So, when Kyle's homophobe brother called and demanded he show up at his wedding so he could make himself look good having a gay brother to parade around in front of the big wig LGBT supporting law firm he was trying to make partner in, I actually shut the book for a couple day and deemed it not for me.

Not only do I hate when terrible people get away with being terrible people, Kyle's family was the worst of the worst. They treated him awful, used him and made him feel like crap for no reason it would seem than to make themselves feel superior.... and why? Because he's gay? It didn't make sense to me. I hated it. I hated it for Kyle and I just hate that people like that don't get their karmic justice and I needed it for Kyle. I mean, when it comes to Kyle's brother, it kind of did... but not good enough for me. He was truly an awful person.

Now, being bullied/blackmailed/manipulated into going to the wedding, Kyle's boss/roommate/bestfriend Rand had agreed to not only go and be his fake boyfriend but to also be his Daddy. In order to do that and make it believable, they needed to practice and get into actually being Daddy/little. It seemed to come easily to Rand, because he genuinely liked taking care of Kyle. He liked making him happy and doing what he thought was best for him. It was sweet and I liked seeing that side of Rand.

It was a little harder for me to understand it from Kyle's POV, because where I could see being a caretaker or even a Daddy being something easier to slip into if you care for someone... it was harder for me to see how easy it was for Kyle, seeing as he had zero knowledge of the lifestyle or anything before he'd blurted it out to his brother to try to get his invite to the wedding of convenience rescinded. I mean, they'd been besties for almost a decade and you'd never made a move on each other, even though they were attracted to one another, but now all the sudden you're thinking about being together AND this huge lifestyle change and it's just easy peasy? Nah... didn't buy it.

I did like how Kyle worked his end out in his head though, I liked watching them go through it and learn what worked for them, together. It was a little redundant how often they mentioned it was going to be over once the wedding was over, cuz seriously, just mention it already... but I liked how sweet Kyle was, especially with Fred, I love how they were supported with the people they worked with and Kyle's grandma. I adored the two of them by the end, it just took me a little bit to get there. They're incredibly likable characters on their own, but when you throw them together and see how they care for each other, it was just really sweet.

I was hoping to get a story from Jace and Jonah, that is definitely a story I'd read... I'll say as a first for me with this author, after I got past the kind of unrealistic beginning, I really loved their story. I even liked the tiiiiiny bit of karma the douchey brother got, though I wished for far more brutal justice for both him and their parents, but... I guess not everyone is as petty as I..... sighhhhh...

4 stars from me on this one.

  • Ali

Oh, I loved this so much. This author has not disappointed me yet, I am getting the perfect combo of sweet and kinky.

Kyle tries to throw a relationship and kink in his brother’s face in order to get out of going to the wedding. I love that Rand didn’t even blink and agreed to go along with his crazy scheme but I loved even more how less crazy it seemed as they went.

Rand jumped in with both feet and I loved watching him take care of Kyle and to help Kyle figure out what he needed too. There was the typical situation of them not talking and fearing the worst but it never got too far and they were able to come to an understanding even to keep he Daddy/Boy dynamic when their self-imposed deadline is up.

Bolton Hill did a great job on the narration, I thought the voices he used were perfect for the characters. His reading also didn't run together so it was easy to keep track of the story. This is a book that I read not too long ago so it was nice to just let the story wash over me.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

  • Jenn (not Lily)

I'm not sure why I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was, since I've liked everything I've read by this author. Maybe I need to not go so long between reading their books...that's the only reason I can think of to have forgotten how good they are at making characters both interesting, complex, and damn funny at the same time. I loved how Kyle just shoots off his mouth without thinking and then has to figure out a way to get out of what he's said -- it made me think of several of
    M.A. Innes/
Shaw Montgomery's characters (adoring looks at Kevin, Jay and Cody!). I'm happily throwing more Carly Marie books on Mount TBR now!

    Excellent age play romance

Perhaps the best age play romance I have read, it makes the most of character chemistry and humor to make the story compelling. It uses an inexperienced pair who are friends-to-lovers playing fake kinky Daddy/boy boyfriends. This version of the inexperienced character meme used to slowly introduce age play to the novice reader does not read as much like a how to or introductory manual as others in the genre. The story and sizzle make sense in the context of the setting and the pairing, yielding the best age play romances I have read so far.

  • Tia

    DNF @ 60%

I found myself skimming through most of the book. This was my first book that dealt with age play and the Daddy/Little dynamic (outside of the bedroom), and it just wasn’t for me. I just couldn’t relate to why someone would want to revert back to childish behavior (sippy cups, baby toys, etc).

  • Anna

All right I'm going to admit that as I started this book I did not comprehend the need to fake a relationship for weeks before the actual need to fake the relationship. This whole book's premise is that Kyle's brother is getting married and he is a homophobic twat who basically wants his gay brother to come as a token gay guy so he can get on the good side of his fiance's parents. Kyle tries to get out of this by telling him that he'd have to bring his boyfriend, and when that doesn't work he says he'd have to bring his daddy. Now Kyle doesn't have a boyfriend or a daddy and knows nothing about age play so this is obviously an issue.

Kyle asked his best friend and boss, Rand, if he would be his fake boyfriend for the wedding. Now this is where I got confused because the wedding was like 6 weeks away and these two jumped into a daddy/boy age play relationship immediately and insisted on doing it full force for those 6 weeks. Like just admit you have feelings for each other. I think this was definitely the aspec me who just didn't understand why would be necessary to do that instead of just admit your feelings, but whatever it all works out.

So it turns out that both Kyle and Rand both really fit into an age play relationship and that Kyle thrives as a little and Rand thrives being able to take care of him. My favorite part of this whole thing is just how little angst there is. Everyone besides the obviously homophobic brother is incredibly welcoming and open-minded about it all and it's just super refreshing.

There is sex in this book but not nearly as much as I thought there would be which was kind of nice honestly. I really love age play books and the non-sexual caretaking aspect. I have been working my way through Carly Marie's books and this is definitely one that I enjoyed as a whole.

CW: age play but no ABDL
