i simply did not exist before reading this book. you ever finish a book and think what the fuck did this author do to my fucking soul? yeah well this book is the embodiment of that.
there were times where my heart almost gave out, i felt the need to pull out my hair, and jump off the tallest building. then their were times i was squealing so hard, smiling from ear to ear, and running laps around the block ๐โโ๏ธ
Tristian mf Caine..god i need that man to wreck my plans for a month straight. and Moranaโฆfuck i donโt know if i wanna be her or be with her. either way these characters have me in a fucking chokehold.
and the fucking plot of this book? ok letโs unpack that because this shit was oscar worthy (or whatever the oscarโs but for books is called) just when the plot thickens, it thickens even more and had me on the edge of my seat chewing my acrylic nails ๐ ๐ฝ the twist and turnsโฆbro i grew gray hairs wtf?! this book was cunty and i fucking loved it ๐ซถ๐ฝ -

My initial rating was going to be 4.5 rounded down, but while Iโm writing this, Iโve already finished the third book as well (I still need to gather my thoughts for that one) and Iโve realised that Iโve grown really attached to those characters and this world with all itโs action and reveals. So you know what? Iโm rounding up! I had the best time reading these books! The plot is just amazing. This series has definitely become one of my all time favourite mafia romances and it needs more love!!โI know exactly who you are.โ

This book starts off where the previous one ended. after that long awaited epic kiss! Tristan ana Morana are amazing! I loved them together and loved seeing them navigate this relationship thing. Tristan is just so freakin mute and at times I was begging him to speak more, but when he opens his mouth?? Ahh he got me swooning so hard! And I love how Morana was patient with him. I just love that blue eyed boy and his nerd so much and I freakin loved their baby steps development.
This series surprised me in the best way. The plot is just amazing and got me so invested with its many reveals and all those answers I still need. The characters are so easy to love. Iโve got tiny little issues with this book that I completely forgot about after finishing this. I just had the greatest time reading this and I guess that means it deserve a round up.

So this book is the epic conclusion to Morana and Tristanโs story and boy did it not disappoint when it came towards their relationship. It was just perfect.
After finishing the first book I was left with SOOOO MANY unanswered questions about the codes, missing girls, the outfit but most importantly about Tristan and Morana.
This book starts off from where the first book ended, after the kiss Tristan and Morana head back to the penthouse where Dante is waiting for them. Dante informs Tristan that they have to head back to Tenebrae as โThings are escalating back homeโ. Tristan asks Morana if she wants to leave Shadow Port and come with him to Tenebrae and obviously she agrees.
Once they reach Tenebrae, I finally get the Tristan and Morana moments I had been craving for. Yes, it was slow which I feel adds up to the whole angst in this book and honestly thatโs how it should be because Tristan has been through A LOT in his life like A LOT A LOT, so you cannot expect for Morana to open her legs once for Tristan and for him to forget about all the hardships he had been through in his life and be the perfect boyfriend.
Tristan continued to struggle with his emotions in this book and the only reason his relationship with Morana came so far was because of her patience. And it was worth it because when he finally showed his vulnerable side, I just wanted to cuddle him and hide him from the whole world. That man is precious as fuck.
God my love for Tristan sky rocketed in this book, he hardly communicated but his actions spoke volumes. There was no doubt in my mind that this man is in love with Morana and would die for her. Period. Also his caveman side? ๐ IN FUCKING LOVE.
Morana, she was so patient with Tristan, she didnโt push him to talk, always picked her battles thoughtfully and was upfront with him throughout this book. You literally read the progress of their relationship through each page you turn to. Again it was slow and perfect.
Even though this book concludes Morana and Tristan story for now, the plot will still continue in the upcoming books, as some questions were answered in this book, there are still some left unsolved and now we have to patiently wait for Amara and Danteโs book to know whatโs going to happen next. And Iโm so fucking excited.

The best Enemies to Lovers I have ever read. This is how this trope should be written.
This book picks up from where the last book ended. It literally had me in a chokehold. It is so much better than the "The predator" and there is character development and the realtionships got much better in this one. It was so beautifully written. While this one was also from Morana's pov and it did have long narrations but I loved it because Morana's thoughts are literally chaotic.
Well in this book Dante, Tristan and Morana they all are still trying to find the mystery behind missing girls and why the Alliance ended 20 years ago. But Tristan and Morana's relationship is getting better because now they are finally talking I mean they finally trying everything to make this work and they both know they are in love. But what was that the last few chapters ๐ถ It had plot twists after plot twists. But seriously It was so fucking good and I literally didn't expected that. Not even a bit. Everytime I think that I figured out the mystery and all, RuNyx just drops a bomb of another mystery in her books and shocked the hell out of me.
And when Tristan and Morana went to Tenebrae I knew things are gonna be a lot more interesting and it really was a lot more than just interesting. There were secrets after secrets that were unravelling and I know for sure that there's gonna be more in the next books in this series and I am ready for it. Because Dark Verse series is my obsession and my need.

Tristan The Predator Caine had a fucking dimple. HE HAD A FUCKING DIMPLE. It's always the dangerous ones who has dimples๐๐คฃ He is the king of Silent king and everytime he speaks I just losts my mind ๐ฉ His actions speaks louder than his words.
He is so soft for Morana. I mean he gave her a chocolate because she had a panic attack. He washes her hair and cooks for her. Gosh he is so sweet and adorable in this book. I love him sm. I loved how he is trying everything for Morana. It's not easy for him to be healed after that traumatic past. But atleast he is trying to love her and to be their for her which is all that matters. There's so much character development in this one. He is sharing everything with Morana, his space, his thoughts, his past and his future. He even had a tattoo of Morana's name on his ring finger. God why he is like that and still fictional ๐ฅฒ๐ถ
I just want this man to have all the happiness and love. And to all those people in this cruel world who thinks he is a monster I hope you all burn in hell.
Morana Vitalio "The Wildcat" My favourite girl โค๏ธ Her character is so much relatable to me and I absolutely adore her. She is such a powerful, fierce, caring, strong, intelligent, badass, nerdy and an independent woman and I love her for that and for all the other things she is. She is my comfort character ๐ When I read about her past I was a sobbing mess. She deserves so much better and every happiness. I love her friendship with Amara. They both had no woman by their side they can their friend but atleast now Amara and Morana can become besties. She never asks for more than the Tristan could give her because she already knows how much he love her and she doesn't needs the words from Tristan to justify what he feels for her.
She might look like tech nerd but yess she can kill you ๐๐ฅShe literally threatened Lorenzo Maroni to make him pay for his heinous crimes. This girl is fire. And the way she loves Tristan is everything. God, just please tell me how to be Morana Vitalio ๐ฉ I just can't wait to read more about her in the next books.
One of the most beautiful scenes of this book were when Morana hugged Tristan and and he hugged her back and when Tristan helped to her to take bath when she was attacked. God, they are so adorable ๐ฅบโค๏ธ I love how their relationship got better and it didn't felt rushed at all. They both tried to trust each other and open up to each other about their feelings.
And my heart literally broke when Tristan told Morana that he was not a monster that he was just a lost boy and no one in his world helped him. Morana and Tristan held onto each other and cried. Tristan let himself to be vulnerable to Morana and trust her. It was so painful to read and yet the most beautiful one.
They both have a very very special place in my heart and I am happy that they found each other and are happy and loved.
The ending was perfect with an epilogue of Tristan's pov. I want more of his pov.
This man is obsessed with her and would even die for her. I just wish he got his own closure about his sister Luna.

Dark Verse Series is so underrated and those who love to read dark romances with lots of mystery then this book series is for you.
And I know for sure Dark Verse Series is going to be my all time favourite book series. PERIOD. Can't wait to read the next ones ๐ -

Soooo... I ended up rereading this. I got to say, I love Morana and Tristan even more!!! I don't know but this reread made me appreciate them so much more than the first time. Before, we got to see Tristan's protective side and it's definitely still there but Morana. Morana got so protective of Tristan, it was the sweetest thing๐ฅบ She is so patient with him and understands him so well!!! She gives him space to process but also knows when to push him. Their love is everything!!! The fact that Tristan has always keep it together but he broke infront of her and opened up, ughhhhh!!!! I adore that damn epilogue. Tristan might not talk much and his actions were the ones speaking this whole time but the epilogue! You can see much clearly how much he loves and adores her๐ญโค๏ธ he says how much he doesnโt deserves her but this man would do anything to keep her alive, well, safe and happy! That alone tells you how much he does deserves her!

Oh wow I don't even know what to say... I liked this book better than the first one! but... but... WHAT WAS THAT IN THE LAST TWO CHAPTERS!?!?! Like I kinda suspected some of it but having it confirmed!
I'm honestly so glad that those two are out of the way. Super curious to see how everything is going to run with this new change.
Morana was a delight, never backing down and being so brave. We got to see a different side of Tristan, which I loved.
Absolutely love Dante, Tristan and Morana's friendship. Can't wait for Amara to be part of it! Well, I hope, need to read the next book to find out.
Also that epilogue was everything I have been waiting since the first book! Like while the book is in 3rd person, it always follows Morana, but that epilogue followed Tristan!!! All I've wanted to know is what was going through his mind this whole time!!!
Anyways, I'll definitely read the next book. I need to know what happens with Dante and Amara and see cameos from Tristan and Morana! -

I honestly don't know why this books have low ratings I loveeed them!๐ญ I just finished the second book so I'm gonna write my thoughts here for both of them.
This is mafia romance with hint of mystery. I'm gonna be vague here bc there were couple of twists so i'll not ruin the story.
In the first book we meet Morana(the daughter of the rival mafia) who infiltrates their party planing to kill Tristan who is not part of the mafia by blood, he is ruthless, mysterious and everyone fear him but not our girl who thinks he stole potential deadly codes from her and wants them back.
Their first meeting was HOT๐ฅต
"One day, I'm going to carve your heart out and keep it as a souvenir. I promise."
He chuckled.ย ย

You can feel the chemistry between them from the first moment. When she confronts him its obviously that someone set him up so after a lotttt of persuasion(which included Tristan scaling the walls of her house a.k.a batman style) she finally agrees to help him find the codes. Andd here begins their epic love story with LOTS of steam, hottnes, feelings(even i teared up in the ending of the second book), a lot of revelations of their past and how really connected they are. I particularly liked how protective he was of her๐ฅบ

I loved both Morana and Tristan.
Morana was great h, badass, fearless, super smart( i mean the girl writes codes soo๐..) but Tristann omgg he was honestly one of my fav heroes EVER. We only got 2 POV from him , he barely speaks 10 sentences in both books but I can't discribe, he had presence, he can just sit there on the chair, not saying anything, watching the rain with Morana and I'll be like๐๐๐ He was definitely one of the "actions speak louder than words".

Now the things I didn't like - the writing in 3 pov, the repetitiveness!!! If I read one more magnificent blue eyes or whiskey-and-sin ๐๐๐๐ช the too long inner monolouges of Morana with the SAME thoughts over and over.. it just became too much in the second book and that ending.. this book just seemed so unfinished, idk if there's another story but from what I could see the next book is Dantes(which I'm starting immediately, I was shipping him hard with Amara๐) and also the whole ending with the BIG twist just happened and then the book ended๐ฉ i would've liked at least 2 or 3 ch more.
But nonetheless i can get past this issues just for the characters( Tristan obv ) and I'm def going to re-read them soon.๐ -

I can't even start to say how much I loved this book!
If you've read my review of The Predator, you know that I had a few issues with it.
Well I'm happy to say that this book was an amazing surprise!
Runyx improved herself in a way that I didn't expected and the second book is sooooo much better than the first, that it just left me stunned!
I'm not one to inflate any author's ego, so you can count on me to be honest here!
This book is amazing!
All the action and the mafia dynamics just kept me on the edge of the seat, and I couldn't stop reading!
It's interesting, entertaining, emotional, sexy, sad and a fucking blast!
The connection between Tristan and Morana in this book, is finally something palpable. I truly devoured this in one day!
It starts right where The Predator finished, and things change for both of them, in different ways.
While in the first book Tristan was emotionally detached, in this one he puts his claim on Morana, and let anyone and everyone knows that she's his.
I fucking loved Tristan in this book!
The way that he basically had to learn how to feel, how to be on a relationship, how to share a life with someone who truly cares for him, how to communicate, for fucks sake!
My heart broke for the lost little boy and for the Ruthless big man! He owned me!
Morana was a Queen before and she's a Queen now! Her patience, her love, her loyalty, her need to protect not only Tristan, but also the little girls... she's so selfless and she deserves all the love that her caveman can give!
(I wish they have had more sex scenes, but I'm okay with their relationship evolution.)
And I have to mention her friendship with Dante! OMG I loooove both of them! The way he protected her and was always there for her... Priceless!
Almost all the mystery is solved in this book, but obviously there's a few things left for Dante to figure it out, and obviously I'll be right there with him!

i have no idea how tristan and morana kept on starting each other throughout the entire book whereas i cannot even make eye contact with someone for 10 seconds without having a pannic attack, but am i complaining? HELL NO -
I really enjoyed this book it was a great story.. I love the romance between the two main characters i enjoyed the mission impossible like plot the only issued i have with this book is that it was to short and i wanted more of Tristan and Morana it end to quickly but overall it was a good read for me just wanted more ๐( I REALLY SUCK AT REVIEWS SORRY)

also, he's a possessive caveman and has a sweet spot on his neck and is completely and utterly obsessed with Morana. SO, SO many things I found out about this beautiful, gorgeous man in this book that I can't even fathom.
we finally got to read the Morana and Tristan scenes we didn't get in the last book which made their relationship feel even more real. they moved slowly, but each page of their story showed everything I needed to know about how they felt for each other. I can literally write so much about how the scenes where Morana hugged Tristan because honestly? they felt better than reading any kind of smut.Without a momentโs hesitation, she ran towards him, and threw her arms around his neck, holding on tight. She felt his body go rigid with stunned surprise and buried her face into the crook of his neck. โDante,โ she heard his voice rumble from his chest. โIโll be outside,โ Dante spoke. Morana heard the door shut behind them.
And then she felt his arms come around her, tentatively, as if unsure of how to hold her. Morana wrapped her own tighter around his neck, standing on her toes, leaning her entire weight into him, pressed into him like that for the first time. His arms, slowly, held her tighter, one around her waist, the other coming up to cup the back of her head.
THIS SCENE, MAN. I loved how Morana didn't push him when he didn't want to open up and remained patient; it avoided so much unnecessary drama and inner conflict between them. I honestly fucking adored each moment they spent together because it revealed a little bit more of Tristan and ugh, I'd literally survive the rest of my life for the breadcrumbs of this man.โI donโt just burn with you, Tristan,โ she said, her voice shaking. โI burn for you. And I donโt know what I have to do to prove it.โ
there's just something about Tristan being insecure when it comes to the way Morana feels about him, and Morana, being the perfect girlfriend she is in this book, proves it to him every single second.
ALSO, TRISTAN CAINE SNORES LIKE A BABY!!!!!A light sound against her ear broke through her musings. Morana heard it, and her lips trembled with the sudden urge to chuckle. She pressed them together as the sound came again, softly. Tristan 'The Predator' Caine snored like a baby.

the story line is so mysterious and addicting. every book uncovers a little more about the mafia families and their activities.
TRISTAN CAINE. is the moodiest, broodiest, withdrawn grump in the entire world. but he is so soft and protective of morana, i am so so obsessed.
morana is the absolute shit. sheโs such a good heroine and i canโt wait to see what she does in the rest of the books.
this is a series you kinda have to go blind into because itโs just mysterious but if you like a dark, mafia romance - the hype is real and you need to read it!! -
This was so much better than The Predator hands down. The writing, the romance, EVERYTHING! I flew through this book quickly and I regret only that I finished it so quickly because now I don't have any Tristan/Morana books to read. Their duology is OUTSTANDING, UNSTOPPABLE, UNPARALLEL. This series is addicting for sure.
As I mentioned before, I did find the first book's writing really repetitive in terms of the author usually repeats the same phrase 3 times ALWAYS. It didn't bother me too much but it was very clear the way they wrote. But definitely in this one, if the author did it the same way, I didn't even notice. So definitely less repetitive stuff now and the writing just flows and you cannot stop reading!
The romance in this is CHEF KISS. Tristan and Morana's relationship grows and you see Tristan gettting softer but still being that grumpy, silent guy. But with Morana, he's a new person, he opens up, he hugs her, he runs to her when he thinks she's in danger. It's so good to see a grumpy, icy person who hates everyone expect the heroine, he's just so very soft with her. I'm obsessed with them!!!!
I love Morana, I really really love her. She was a very good main character and I love how she thinks, how she goes for what she wants. She understands a situation perfectly and you follow along the plot very easily with her.
I don't know if I'm going to read Dante's book next but this book made me love Dante even more so I'm excited to see what's next, plus the overall plot and problem in these two books doesn't end, or doesn't really get resolved so in the third book I think you get more of that? I'm not sure, but I just want Tristan to find his sister omgkjf!!! I hope she's alive *sobs*
