Get a cuppa and settle down.
Love this series so far. The town of Pebble Cove has many fun and interesting characters. The book itself is a murder mystery with a paranormal sub plot in the form of a ghost who “lives” with our main character.
Read in order for full enjoyment. -
This series is so great! I really enjoy the pacing in that the main character, Rosie, has a tea shop in a small town to run, she can see and interact with ghosts, and she is an amateur sleuth. Basically, there is never a dull moment in Pebble Cove!

Rosemary is concerned that things are slow at her tea shop. She decides to go to into the downtown area of Pebble Creek to check out her competition, Jolene. Jolene serves some yummy bakery products, but Rosemary's cup of Earl Gray tea is oversteeped and hardly drinkable. While sitting at the cafe table, Rosemary observes some interaction between Jolene, her ex and his girlfriend. The girlfriend complains that her matcha drink tastes like grass and exchanges drinks with boyfriend Murray. After just a couple sips, Murray falls over and dies, after attempts to revive him fail. Was Jolene seeking revenge and the drink was meant to kill the girlfriend or is someone else responsible ?
MATCHA DO ABOUT MURDER is the second in author Eryn Scott's Pebble Cove series. The reader definitely needs to read STEEPED IN SUSPICION, the first novel to avoid being lost and confused. I found that I enjoyed this second story even more than the first. The author developed the small town of Pebble Creek even more fully as well as giving more background to Rosemary and her "spirit" friend, Asher. Rosemary continues to do more research on Asher's background to find out why he is still around more than 100 years after his death. The reader also meets some rather quirky characters and other "spirits" along the way, too.
Eryn Scott knows how to weave the elements of a cozy mystery into a fabulous blend of suspense with surprises. I look forward to the third trip into Pebble Creek soon.

5 Stars
This is the second book in the A Pebble Cove Teahouse mystery series by Eryn Scott.
There is a throughline from the previous book that manifests in this one. It is concerning Asher and his quest to have Rosie find out what happened to him in death. Apparently, ghosts don’t really remember their death day too well. And when Rosie uncovers a truth she doesn’t want to reveal to her friend, she asks her mother to investigate further.
The whodunit is surrounding a man who dies in the competing tearoom run by Jolene. I like the compromise the two come up with in this book in order to make their businesses successful.
Asher does a lot of disappearances in this book too which makes me sad since he is definitely my favorite character in the series. But I understand his absences.
I can’t wait until the next book comes out. Definitely a great new series I suggest you check out! I am obsessed with it.
If you love a good cozy mystery, definitely check this one out. -
Needs to be read in order. I wish I knew that. Read the first book to this series before this one. I did notice a lot of repeating which is a turnoff.

4.5 Star review Matcha Do About Murder (Pebble Cove Tea house Mystery #2) by Eryn Scott
It was fun being back in Pebble Cove. This is the second book in the latest series from Eryn Scott and I could not wait to dive in to it. I love stories about small towns, add in mystery and a few ghosts and I knew I was in for an entertaining read with Matcha Do About Murder.
Rosemary Woodmere inheritance her Victorian tea house from her grandmother and is trying to get the business back up and running. Having successfully solved her grandmother's murder with the help of Asher the coast, they are up for the challenge when another murder happens right n front of them.
The more she learns, the more danger she is in and Rosemary leans on the spirits to guide her. There were numerous twists and turns within the story and I found Rosemary easy to relate to and I liked her. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery and am looking forward to seeing where Ms. Scott takes the series.
Narrator Jennifer Jill Araya did a great job bringing this story to life and made this an entertaining listen. -
The friendship element in this book is, just simply, heartwarming.

Love how this story is progressing.
I love that the ghosts have their own story line that progresses through out these books. In this installment we get to know many of them better, and discover what is holding a few of them back from passing over.
That being said, I am concerned with Rosemary's mental state. As she spends the majority of her people interacting time, talking to ghosts. If this isn't addressed or keeps up throughout the entire series it's going to make me really depressed for her as a person. She went from being under her mom's supervision to now, and adult woman that only communicates with the dead. With the caveat that I am thankful for no insta-love type plot line happening. These two books are giving a great deal of insight into everyone that lives in Pebble Cove. I just want Rosemary to have some living friends!
The writing in this book is way more flowery than the first book, there are metaphors so often in this story, it starts to pull me out because I can't stop laughing at how ridiculous they are. Not sure why they increased here, but hoping they decrease for book 3.
The mystery for this book was great, I kept rethinking who was really the guilty party, because I kept telling myself, 'there was no way it would be that person' for a few people. The end layout explains a lot about the towns history. I like that these books seems to be solving a cold case, with the current case. Gives more complexity to the town, and the hidden secrets that are berried there.
Rosemary isn't great at everything she touches and I really appreciate that. Her struggles in running the teashop make her character relatable. I look forward to seeing how she grows as a business owner in the next installments. -
Loved it!

This series just gets better and better ,The characters and town are so well written that I want to make my way to Pebble Cove and go to Tea at the Sea for an Iced, Iced Tea (and yes the Iced is plural on purpose) and wait to feel the chill of Asher as he sits by me as I talk with Rosemary at the big table,
In book 2 Tea at the Sea is quiet. unusually so, but Jolene has reopened Pebble Cove Tea Company the tea shop in the centre of town. Rosemary decides to check out the opposition, Rosemary is not vindictive she does not harbor any resentment, surely there can be room for both businesses in town, As she sits down drama ensues!! Another death and Rosemary is right there, with the Chief of Police looking at her like a suspect ....again.
So gathering her unique PI's together she decides to investigate herself, buthas she pushed her ghostly friends to far
A really good strong story with Rosie meeting more residents of Pebble Cove both alive and spiritual, fleshing her out more as a character and the towns residents, there are plenty of red herrings and fun along the way.
I can highly recommend this series it is really good and I look forward to seeing where it goes

I knew I was going to love this series part way through the first book, and this second one is even better! Not being into paranormal made me unsure but I like the bit of humour added to the drama and the ghosts are amazing characters. It adds to the story that there is a mystery to the ghost history. I'd really love to be able to go for a visit to this town with it's quirky residents. I was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review. This series will definitely be a 'read again' group of books.

Rosemary goes to the Pebble Cove Tea Company to see what the competition is doing. She talks to a man who dies of poisoning. Since the Chief is not Rosemary’s fan and seems to be enamored with one of the obvious suspects, Rosemary enlists Asher’s help find the truth. I got into this story from the beginning, having enjoyed book 1 in the Pebble Cove mystery series and especially liked Rosemary’s character development about trauma in her past.

Loved this book! Rosemary is just such a cool person, seeing ghosts, running her own business, and solving murders. She’s able to solve so many things in this book, it was awesome! Old and new crimes were solved. Fantastic!

Real Ghosts and Murder
I love a good paranormal mystery, and while this isn't quite as paranormal as some mysteries (no witches, magic, or the like), I loved the element that the ghosts, particularly Asher, added to this story. There are several things aside from that that I really liked about this novel. First, I appreciated that the body dropped, so to speak, relatively quickly. I feel like lately in most cozy mysteries I've read that the authors are allowing the quirkiness and character factors to outweigh the murder; they are taking too long for the murder to actually happen; one recent book it didn't have it happen until about the 33% mark. That certainly does not allow much time for the mystery to develop, especially if it is a novella.
But luckily, that didn't happen in this case. The body dropped quickly, and as this is a proper novel, there was time for the mystery to develop. There were certainly some twists and turns then I didn't see coming, which I always love, and some good red herrings threw me off the scent. Not only did this book explore the murder mystery that is the core of the story, but it also looked deeper into ghost Asher's background, trying to puzzle out how he actually died. This murder mystery was artfully done, and I look forward to reading more of this author.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Eryn Scott returns to Rosemary, Asher, and Pebble Cove with Matcha Do About Murder. I love this cozy mystery series with a ghostly twist, and I am really glad as her Pepper Brooks series is ending soon.
Rosemary and Asher are a great team, and both facing issues outside the murder they are trying to solve. She is working to keep the tea house she inherited from her grandmother afloat. He is trying to figure out how he died and fill in missing memories from that time. Despite not having the same life experiences as her, I felt that Rosemary was a really relatable character and wished her tea house was a real place to visit.
The mystery was interesting, too. I thought I had figured out part of it, but there were some nice twists and turns to keep it interesting. As everything played out there was also more information revealed about Asher and Rosemary settled into small town life in Pebble Cove. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review. -
Rosemary’s teahouse has competition when her rival Jolene reopens her teahouse after recuperating from a broken leg. The grand reopening turns tragic when a customer dies after tasting his tea. Fingers are pointed in every direction, including Rosemary’s, and suspicion that the police may protect the real murderer leads the local amateur detective to investigate.
This is the 2nd book in the Pebble Cove Teahouse Mysteries. This series reminds me of the Gram’s Country Cooking School series by Paige Shelton. I enjoy the history behind the ghosts and the research Rosemary and her mother do to uncover the truth for Asher. For some reason I keep forgetting that this book takes place in the Pacific NorthWest and find myself thinking it is the coast of North Carolina. I think Rosemary is a very well-written character; she expresses relatable emotions and has a nicely developed background. The teahouse on the coast is easily imagined and makes me want to visit for a cup of my favorite blend. I already bought book three and I look forward to reading it. I recommend this book (series). -
I really liked this second book in the series. Stayed up late to finish it!
