X MARKS THE SPOT...FOR TROUBLE!
Ripley found a treasure map! The Roanoke scouts are eager to hunt down what they hope might be some kind of mystical hoard of gems and jewels, rad dinosaur bones, or maybe even more treasure maps (that you have to piece together to find an EVEN BIGGER prize, obviously)! What they end up finding is scattered pieces of an ancient Greek statue of a woman, who, when assembled, comes back to life as a vindictive ex-goddess!n. And she's looking to satisfy her hunger after thousands of years frozen in stone by draining any nearby magical resource...starting with the ‘Janes!
Writers Shannon Watters and Kat Leyh (Super Cakes) and artist Dozerdraws hunt for gold in the newest collection of stories from the New York Times bestseller and multiple Eisner Award and GLAAD Award-winning series where the ultimate treasure is friendship!
Collects Lumberjanes #53-56.

In the world of the Lumberjanes if you find a treasure map, surely you know it won't lead to treasure? More fun as the Roanoke's unearth an unstoppable threat. Despite real peril, this sees a little walk back to the better Lumberjanes with some nice comedy, character development and improving art by 'Dozerdraws'. 7 out of 12. Thank Emmy Noether for the female icon exclamation!

I have to stop and appreciate that Rosie has a way to phone Olympus.
-
Like the last volume, this is mostly just filler material. I’ll grant it some cred for all of Ripley’s air time and the super-powered kittens. Dozerdraws continues as the featured artist, and wow do they ever draw monsters sloppily.
-
Another cute volume of Lumberjanes. It's nice to see Artemis again and I always love the ones that deal with Greek mythology. Also, KITTENS ARE BACK and more adorable than ever!
-
This was cute in the way that all of these are cute but also average in the way that all the newer volumes are average. I am always a fan of when Diane shows up though, so at least there was that.
-
Listen. Ripley and kittens will never not be a winning combination for me.
-
Really fun and a nice return to the previous plot types. Loved the return of the kitties and the villain was a good time. Nice to know that gods can work together, even if just once.
-
As always, the Lumberjanes rock it.
I love this graphic novel series, and I love seeing all of the goofy situations they find themselves in. <3 HERE for it. -
2.5
This was fine. I still enjoy the friendships, but I wish the romantic relationships developed a little more. -
This series would have to do something horribly wrong for me to stop loving it and giving it five stars.
-
Adorable as always. Also Olympians are back!

I have to admit, like Volume #13 this wasn't a favorite but still, I did enjoy it as it went more into Greek mythology and we saw the girls banded back together and working as a full team which I had missed in Indoor Recess. In Volume #14 the girls are searching for Ripley's swimsuit when they find a map under her bed among all of her candy. The girls thinking it is a treasure map, head off on their journey. Throughout the treasure hunt, they find pieces of a statue broken which of course Ripley sticks together with her pink crafting glue and what comes to life is an evil Greek Goddess who feeds off the energy of others and magical beings. She ends up kidnapping Ripley and the magical cats, though of course as we know, no-one is a match for Ripley as she is so active and a whole different league than the average person. Out of all the characters of Lumberjanes, Ripley has always been my favorite as she is just so perky, a tad naive and innocent but always up for adventures and pretty things. The other thing is though this wasn't my favorite Lumberjane comic in the series, it does get my vote for best cover as I loved the rainbow colors and brightness of this graphic novel and thought it encompassed everything that Ripley's character is. I am now looking forward to reading Volume #15 of the Lumberjanes Graphic Novel series. -
The magical kittens AND our Greek Mythology friends are back. That is probably the best part of this volume in my opinion. As you can guess from this title, the girls find a treasure map and set off for an adventure. Of course - something always has to go wrong.. Do you think they will actually find treasure? Read to find out. I have to point out the art in this since I haven't mentioned it in a bit. I am not sure what is going on in this volume but I do not like it AT ALL.

read as individual issues

I’ve missed this series. Cute and love when they bring in the Olympians. Also great to see Barney again.
-
Ripley finds a treasure map that actually leads to recreating an ancient ancient Greek trickster and shenanigans ensue. As always, super delightful.
-
Review to come :)
-
love this series.
-
Ripley + magic kittens = pure delight!
-
I like the story but again I can’t stand the art. I can’t tell who the characters are any more. My last lumberjanes read 😒
-
Liked all the cats. Would love a coloring book dedicated to them explaining each of them in more detail.
-
4 stars!
Another very enjoyable instalment. Since we’re 14 volumes in I find myself running out of things to say.
This is a really cute super fun series and I highly recommend! -
Return of the kittens!!! YAY!!!
-
Still digging the artwork in this volume and highly amused by the magical kittens again.
-
Ahhh so fun to dive back into The Lumberjanes and visit Miss Quinzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet's Camp for Girls Hardcore Lady Types again! This wasn't the strongest volume but I so enjoyed seeing all of the familiar faces again.
