Struggling to survive in an unforgiving universe, Ethan has sacrificed his life in pursuit of a single goal: Follow his king's orders and save their people from the ravenous Kayadon overlords. For so long, he's maintained his title and dark reputation as a notorious pirate to put into motion his king's intricate plot. He thought of nothing else... until he met her - the fiery demon who tempts him like no other.
After witnessing her father's brutal murder by the hand of pirates, Sonya has developed a special kind of hatred for their kind. When Ethan, otherwise known as the Pirate King, boards her ship and invades her space with his encompassing presence, she finds herself fighting to keep her distance. Yet she wonders if she even wants to, when he threatens to seduce her mind, body, soul... and most frightening of all, her heart.
Demon Untamed (Shadow Quest, #4) Reviews

I was really looking forward to this book. I fell in love with Ethan and Sonya's love/hate relationship from the beginning of this series. I am so disapointed with how their story was told. I know the author stated that this would be a sensual journey but I didn't realize that just meant it was a retelling of the first 3 books from someone else's point of view. I expected this to be a kickass book since Sonya is a kickass female and Ethan is strong enough of a male to be her mate. I feel cheated that this is the story we got.

Confusing. Frustrating. Annoying.
I have never experienced this before (and i hope not again). The whole book is a recap of the first three books with added scenes (that seem like filler) with Ethan & Sonya. If you love the series as much as I do...I would skip to the last 40% of book to learn what happens with this couple. Even with all that, I still gave up before finishing. I am sure the next book will catch me up. -
I loved the first three books of this series very much and I was waiting for Sonya's and Ethan story!
You just get from the start that they'll get together, so it is not a surprise.
So why only 4 stars?
Because in this book nothing new actually happens. It is almost just retelling of what has happened in the previous books told from another, Sonya's and Ethan's, point of view.
I said almost because there are a few scenes that are new and that was what made this book worthy of the foruth star. Otherwise it would have been a 3 stars only because I loved the main characters too much and for the writing... not for the hapenings... -
At long last
At long last we finally get Ethan & Sonya’s full story that Ms. Fay has been teasing us with for at least the past 2 books.
And trust me this story doesn’t disappoint! It’s steamy and fun. The back and forth banter between the two makes for some laugh out loud times. But the story of these two opposites finding their mate is also filled with each finding a bit of their softer side in each other as well.
Well done! -
2.5/5.0
Loved these two characters, but the story wasn’t a story. It was mostly just a recap of previous books. Boring AND frustrating. -
This book very much overlaps all three previous books but from Ethan and Sonya's points of view and we get to see other angels of the story and get a little extra at the end after the war has happened.
Ethan and Sonya are a good mix and both start off surprised at their reaction to each other, Sonya more so as she has hated pirates since her fathers death all those years ago. Ethan was told when he started the quest to help his king 350 years ago that he would get to have a wife at this point so believes it will be one of the daughters. That is until he gets more than he bargained with in Sonya.
Both have tempers and like things a little more savage, but the more time that they spend together, the more time that they want each other.
I loved this story just as much as the other books and was very happy that we get that little bit extra at the end for covering so much other ground that had been told before. -
Not as good as I remember the earlier books being, perhaps because some of it is concurrent to the other books so it doesn't delve in deeply, but still a diverting read.

Kickass Sonya.
Sonya and Ethan's story the final book in the series. Man those teasers throughout the first three books had me gagging to know what happened between those two. Sonya was such a strong female lead, she was badass, a fighter like her brothers and no damsel in distress. She carried scars within her since she was a child after a very traumatic experience. An event which shaped her into the woman she is today. Brave, loyal, spunky, a fighter and stubborn as a mule Sonya reminded me of a sexier version of Xena warrior princess. Her stubbornness though got in the way of her relationship with Ethan. She could have avoided so much heart ache if she'd just trusted him and opened up. He even ended up accepting his feels for her while she was still struggling with hers, showing her and even telling her how he felt (although he did keep his feelings about her claiming him to himself). At that point I was getting a bit frustrated, I mean what more did Ethan have to do to get her to open up. He may not have had the most honourable intentions at first but that changed as his feelings towards her grew. He became protective, possessive, loving and was so patient with her, hoping she'd learn to trust him and finally open up to him emotionally. Damn was he sexy too with his cheeky smiles, such a teasing personality not to mention a dominating nature in the bedroom it was sooo HOT!! Add to that shoulder length white blond hair with some braids, dark blue eyes and a defined bod he was so drool worthy. Their story is basically a recap of the first three books with all the scenes that we had previously read before but they'd been made longer and new scenes and events included that would have taken place inbetween the three other books. I enjoyed the new scenes that were added very much but I found myself speed reading the events that I already knew about. The ones that included the other characters, as all I wanted this time around was Sonya and Ethan. It's a shame the author didn't find a way to tell this love story differently other than the little snippets told thought the series. I would have loved it though if we'd had more new chapters dedicated to only them not just the three at the end of the book. -
The downside to this book, and something that some will not like at all, is that this is a recapping of the first three books of the Demon series to go back over all of what transpired between Sonya and Ethan from the beginning. What this means is if Sebastian and Anya had a scene devoted to them, but Sonya and Ethan’s relationship happened to be important in that scene also, then you will sometimes also be reading a repeat of what happened regarding the other characters and not just reading it from Sonya and Ethan’s point of view. You will need to have read books 1 to 3 to understand what is going on as the storyline is only briefly touched on in spurts in order to concentrate on Sonya and Ethan’s relationship. With that said, Sonya was my favorite character during the series, so I loved seeing a book devoted more to her story, and I got a much better view of Ethan after reading this book. I couldn’t put the book down as things got more intense later on (both between them and the war brewing with the Kayadon). This may even be my favorite Demon book so far because of that. I hadn’t read the demon series in a while and didn’t realize how much I missed them all. Hoping to see more books in the future based on the alien races in the story line!

I truly enjoyed this wonderful reiteration of the stories from the three previous books, but now told from Ethan and Sonya’s prospective point of view and it gave us the enjoyable completion to their tumultuous relationship which we have watched develop, at times with amusing anticipation. Their story gives us some of the missing parts to each of the stories which then bring all of them to a fantastic completion. Thank you Ms. Fay, I am definitely looking forward to the next adventure in the “Shadow Quest” series.

2.5*
With much difficultly, I had read through Demon Untamed without skimming. It's like watching a rerun with different leads/POVs. There's no intrigue or anticipation to keep me enthrall, since I already know the ending...even the relationship development between Ethan and Sonya is no mystery.
Had I read this book first, I would've loved it. Instead, I can only say I liked it and hope this series does not end here... -
I loved this book so flipping much!
These two are hot, stubborn, hot-headed, and perfect for each other 😍 They sure as heck fight their attraction tooth and nail.
It was very interesting seeing Sonya and Ethan's POV of the stories. And how their own was developed. And I love that the recount of this book is more of a behind the scenes type. What happened with Ethan and Sonya, when the others were on their own missions and situations.
Can't wait for more! -
This addition to the Shadow Quest series is basically a recap of the first three stories. This one is told from the perspectives of Ethan and Sonya and weaves thru the other stories. While this may not have been my most favorite of the series, it is a great addition. I have enjoyed this series and am sad to see it end.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing* -
Ethan & Sonya’s story! This story takes you through much of the series, albeit from Ethan & Sonya’s view. It has new & exciting details with some steamy scenes along the way. I enjoyed getting lost in their story as well as finding new aspects of it. This was a great read with a good ending, however I do wish there had been an epilogue with a look into the future.
I voluntarily agreed to review this book, & was given an Advanced Reader Copy to do so. -
I so enjoyed the first three books and was glad to have the opportunity to read Sonya and Ethan's story from a different perspective. This is a real treat for those who enjoyed the characters and wanted them to get their own book. It does reference many of the same events buy from their POV and not as just part of the other character's stories. It felt much more intimate to hear their thoughts as they made their decisions and fell in love.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received. -
1:5 star
I liked it better than the previous books
Even though Sonya kept her stubbornness to claim Ethan and confess her feelings to him and
The thing that peeved me most was how selfish everyone was
While Ethan sacrifices his life for everyone
They had to celebrate while he was still Unconscious
I hated Cale so much when he was Bragging about how Kyra had healed him
I almost clap to Sonya when she snapped at him
He deserved it -
Awesome series
Really enjoyed the chase that Sony had Ethan do. Though it wasn't intentional, still enjoyable. Loved how they got to know and then love another. A lot of repeating scenes since author made it so that you can start from anywhere in the series but still enjoyed the new details from their point of view. -
Sonya and Ethan are my favorite couple of the series. This is just another perspective to the events of the previous 3 books, but the additional information it gives to the overarching story makes the series so much better. I did have to read it a couple times. Once on its own, and again while re-reading the other books because it does not work well on it's own. I still love it dearly.

Love this series
This series has been so awesome.I love that you get the sexy stuff and a really good overall story. Looking for more books in this series soon I hope!! -
Rehash of the other books, from a different perpective. Some new material.

Kiersten Fay offers this amazing fantasy/sci fi series (Shadow Quest) that after the first trilogy I was worried it would end. Thank You Ms Fay for keeping the story going. For all of you who loved the original characters but wanted to know more about Ethanule and Sonya this is the book for you. Warning.. it has been written in a similar format to Aimee and Fang's book by Sherrilyn Kenyon... A Lot of retelling of the story just from their POV's. That makes this book an excellent stand alone as well as a closing chapter to the demon's stories.
Sonya is the sister to two Demons and the adopted sister of a third. The three of them have made having a personal life virtually impossible. She has spent centuries dealing with the angst of riding the demons edge with know relief.. But she managed it with class that this younger sister might not have been so tolerant of. When one day a Pirate walks into her life she is confused.. Why is she drawn to him? What does he have to offer that no one else has? Not only is he a pirate the worst of the worst but he is also the man who has been promised by his king that once their battle is over he will be rewarded with a princess bride.. so Sonya sees absolutely no reason to even acknowledge him.
Ethanule has spent centuries fighting for his planet.. he left a high ranking member of the King's guard to become a pirate and eventually the Pirate leader. Over time he has changed but he has held on to one truth. When the battle ends.. when his planet is restored he will become a prince.. and one of the King's daughter will be his bride. Watching the princess' fall one by one to the Demons they mate with confuses him. He knows what he is promised and what is worse after meeting Sonya he starts to not really care. He wants Sonya and no other...
Watching these two but heads was one of the best parts of the first three books. We KNOW they are meant for each other.. their sparks fly right off the pages.. we KNOW they want each other but these two stubborn characters fought it tooth and nail.. Tensions would sweep the room whenever Ms Fay put them together and the joy was not only in watching them fall but in watching how each of Sonya's brothers accept this pair...
A fun story but at times it did seem like too much recap.. it had to be done and this has to be a really hard way to tell a story so great job Ms. Fay.. can't wait to read more.. Rumor has it we are going to be seeing dragons soon???

I i'm going to start with the disclaimer that I loved the first three books. These books had everything you would want magic, science fiction, romance, adventure and action.
The only reason that this one didn't get a five star rating like the first three books is because I felt that this book was pretty redundant.
The storyline pretty much ended in book 3 - for the most part. the only thing we needed to know is what would end up happening with Ethan. Book four was basically a retelling of all of the events from the first three books only this time it was a focus on Ethan and Sonya's relationship.
I just feel like the author could've added those extra scenes to the original three books and finished up book 3 with Ethan and Sonya's mating. I went into the book expecting for it to pick up where book 3 left off but again it was a retelling.
I liked the characters but the only thing new to the storyline was in the last few pages of the book. -
Pretty much just a recap from the first three books told from Ethan's and Sonya's POV. While I love this world and all the characters in it I wish we would have gotten a continuation of the story not just a recap. Guess she did it so we could see their love build and see their story since it plays such a big role in the first three books, which I can see being as important especially with Ethan. But I just wished it would have been a little fast-forwarded and not taken up the whole book so we could have gotten new content to the story arch.
I still enjoyed it - it just got tedious reading about so many things that already happened. I'm looking forward to the next in the series. The last two got five stars so im hoping the next one is just as great. -
3.5 stars. This book would have been better if it hadn’t been mostly a repeat of the series. Having the story from Sonya and Ethan’s point of view was interesting, but would have worked better if there hadn’t been any scenes like that in the previous books. Now it was mostly just frustrating to get to the last few chapters to see what happened to them. It would have worked with a few tantalizing glimpses here there in the other books nothing major, just enough to make you wonder about them, so that in this book you would have that “aha, so that’s what was going on” moment. Still a good book, just to much repetition to make it a great book. Couldn’t help but feel these characters deserved better.
