His Bargained for Bride (Regency Matchmaker #4) Reviews

This is the 4th book in the series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Drake needs a temporary fiancé so he goes to Lady Ambrosia for help. She recommends her assistant, Amy, who needs the funds to travel to America. Instead of the wedding being fake, it is real. Sparks fly but will Amy stay or go to America. Fast-paced and steamy. The story is entertaining and the chemistry is hot. I really liked it.

Most Excellent Historical Romance with Spanking
This is end of the series that involves a mysterious matchmaker that is always successful with her matches. I really enjoyed it and I think you will too. In this book we begin with a Fake Engagement and we end with a somewhat bittersweet HEA, the HEA is great but there is a bittersweet part to the ending as well. I recommend this book to everyone who likes Historical Romance with Spanking -
LOVE IS A PRECIOUS GIFT, AND YOU DESERVE ALL OF IT YOU GET
The fourth story in the Regency Matchmaker series will once again, having a gentleman seeking the matchmaking skills of Lady Ambrosia. But this time, he wants a fake fiancé, and shockingly enough, Lady Ambrosia will pair him with Amaryllis, a widow who has sworn off men. This will be the story of two people who had no intentions of marrying, only a very short, temporary arrangement. But sometimes, the unexpected happens—but what about love?
The plot will have Lady Ambrosia rescuing Amaryllis from ruffians who have robbed and injured her. She will take her to her home and help her out—and allow her to be her assistant while she earns the money she needs to travel to America. When Lord Drake Stowe shows up without an appointment, Amy wants to turn him away, but Lady Ambrosia will cater to his request. What starts as a secret to appease Uncle Jarvis is turned upside-down by the appearance of Lady Tempest and Lady Calliope, who bring along the vicar for a marriage. Can they do this to make the final days of Uncle Jarvis happy?
“If we marry, it will be a real marriage, in every aspect, do you understand me, for however long it lasts. Neither of us is good at pretending.” --Drake
“I simply wonder if, before all is said and done, your contract bride might capture your heart as well.” –Dr.Spencer
To the surprise of Dr. Spencer, Drake, and Amy, Uncle Jarvis’ health seems to improve with their marriage. He is laughing again, getting out of bed, and enjoying time with Amy, as she reads and entertains him. He can even coerce her into allowing him to eavesdrop on a ladies meeting. But, Uncle Jarvis has his serious moments and shares his regrets of letting “the one” get away and how he still misses her—and he will impart words of wisdom on the younger generation.
“Do not let foolish quarrels and pride keep you from love. Promise me.” – Uncle Jarvis
What will happen between Drake and Amy after the death of Uncle Jarvis—will they finalize their arrangement and she leave for America to join her sister? Have the past several weeks only been for show? What about the sexual pleasure that Drake and Amy find with each other? Has she only been a diversion and he is ready to let her go?
“I know how much you have meant to him, and to me, over the last few weeks.” --Drake
The story has angst, secrets, regrets, passion, and romance. Will Drake and Amy admit their feelings for each other, or will this be goodbye? The chemistry between them sizzles off the pages, but is that enough? Has Lady Ambrosia failed at making the perfect match? The story has several punishment scenes, along with explicit erotic sex scenes. -

The Wanton Woman💃💋 Wants Him🐺🍆⛲
It's all about the crazy matchmaking💘 skills of Lady Ambrosia! She's at it again!
This is a great series by Author Celeste Jones, and I have read several of them. These are Regency Style Romances featuring ADULT domestic scenes of discipline👋 and are explicit.
A fake engagement and marriage👰 is orchestrated by the ultimate matchmaker, Lady Ambrosia, between Amaryllis💃💋, a young, poor, disillusioned widow, and Drake Stowe🐺🍆⛲👋, the tall, handsome Viscount of Redmond.
Drake's uncle, his last living relative, is dying, and his last request is to see his nephew married. His doctor feels if Drake🐺🍆⛲👋 obeys, his uncle may even perk up and live a while longer.
Lady Ambrosia, the matchmaker, immediately matches Drake🐺🍆⛲👋 to Amaryllis💃💋. She was accused of being a wanton hussy by her late husband, so she thinks there is something wrong with her libido!
Drake🐺🍆⛲👋 has a huge baaaad naaaasty libido, so it's a match made in heaven! Now if he can only win her heart💘, too....
Drake🐺🍆⛲👋 is a tenth degree Spankenstein👋👋, and he gets right to work👋 on Amaryllis's behind!

Continuity problem, the guns of the regency era were single shot or a two barrel, two shot flintlock or cap and ball. Revolvers were not even invented yet. Percussion caps came after 1820.
Despite the historical inaccuracies, I found the book very well written and an enjoyable read. It's a real page turner!

Amaryllis (“Amy”) was trying to raise money to get to America to her sister. She raises the funds she needs, but is brutally attacked and the money stolen. Fortunately, Lady Ambrosia, a matchmaker, takes her in and cares for her, letting her assist her.
Amy had a bad marriage and was through with men. But when Lord Drake Stowe needed a temporary fiancée to grant the wishes of his dying Uncle Jarvis, whom he loves very much, he goes to Lady Ambrosia to help him find such a lady. To everyone’s surprise, Lady Ambrosia decides to pair him with Amaryllis for this short-term temporary situation. Drake agrees to pay her when his uncle dies, which will give her the funding to continue her plans to go to America. Both Drake and Amy find that they are attracted to each. But when friends try to help out by providing a clergyman for the “wedding”, the couple ends up married – totally not the original plan! Though both want to keep this arrangement professional, when it is time to end it, will they be able to walk away? Will Amy leave and join her sister in America? Or is there possibly a future for the two of them?
This was a good story with likable characters and a fun story line. Even Uncle Jarvis was delightful! Grab your copy and see how everything turns out! -
His Bargained for Bride by Celeste Jones is a love story that is super sexy. Amaryllis (Amy) is a widow who is down on her luck. She wants to join her sister in America and help orphaned children. She finally has the money to buy her passage when she is robbed and struck. Lucky for her London's premier matchmaker Lady Ambrosia is there to help.
Lord Drake's uncle is dying and he is led to believe that his marriage will make his uncle happy in his last days. Desperate, he visits Lady Ambrosia and asks for a young lady who will serve as his fake fiancee (for a price). Ambrosia recommends Amy. She accepts and believes the money will guarantee her passage to America.
There is one problem, they are practically forced to marry. With no warning they are husband and wife and they start to fall in love. Is this a bargain that Drake can recover from?
I really liked both Drake and Amy. They were likable characters with real feelings, emotions and motivations. I haven't read the other books in the series, but this reads as a stand alone. I want to read more about Lady Ambrosia and her curious matchmaking ways. Sexy and steamy - a good read.

ONE EMOTIONAL WHIRLWIND!!!
When life gives you lemons! Celeste did an absolutely beautiful job bringing out all of my emotions in this heartwarming endearing jewel. So many things to happen in just a short time. Grab your tissue when you pick up your copy cause trust me, you're going to cry. No way around it. The characters were awe inspiring and full of life after having different issues and heartbreak to deal with. Following the characters along as I witnessed their personalities transform and blend together with such love and devotion. Yes, I cried. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Just don't tell my kids. Just kidding. The scenes were so detailed and vivid it was easy to get lost in the whole adventure. I felt like one of the characters following along. I was hooked from the start and my focus glued to the pages. I couldn't put it down. Such a great read. I'm still a little emotional so forgive me if I mess up a little. The scenes are graphically detailed and descriptive it paints a fantastic backdrop and makes the storyline pop. Awesome job Celeste, thank you for sharing this bad boy with us. -
Marriage of Convenience Gone Awry
I love reading historical romances especially when there is a marriage of convenience in the plot. In the case of Drake and Amaryllis, the storyline is a case of a ‘marriage of convenience’ gone away? No spoiler alerts here! You simply must read to see what happens between the very dominant Drake Stowe and the sweet woman he pledged to marry.
‘His Bargained for Bride’ is a beautiful love story with lots of intense and deep emotions to keep those pages turning, making this book hard to put down.
Though this is book number four in the series, I have not yet read the others, and this story read beautifully as a stand-along novel and makes me want to read the others. -
Amy had cut her hair and sold it to a wig shop so to have money to travel to America to be with her sister. She gets the funds and then is brutally attacked and Lady Ambrosia takes care of her. Drake needed to have a fake fiancee so he visits Lady Ambrosia and she recommends Amy for the job.
Drake will pay her after his uncle passes so she can continue on to America. Drake and Amy find they have an immediate attraction to one another. So 2 friends that Amy has met set up an immediate wedding. That foiled their plans so now they are married. The match maker Lady Ambrosia
had it all figured out. So many twists and turns. A great novel!

This book is very different to most of what I read in these styles; either the historical or the elements of power exchange. There’s a sense of whimsy in this story that I absolutely delighted in. Amy and Drake are very down-to-earth, grounded, people, yet nearly everyone else around them were completely outlandish and left me giggling uncontrollably. I especially liked reading the messages in this story about the sacrifices we make for love and that the right partner can make all the difference in the world.

This is the first book that I have read of this series, and it worked well as a standalone. The author not only managed two very likeable main characters, but also included a whole cast of neighbors and family to make the story interesting. I loved Amy for her passion and kindness. Drake was a nice combination of stern and caring. They definitely made a fun pair for a story. The writing flowed well and kept me interested until the end. I definitely look forward to more from the series.

A really good book.I didn't read the other books in the series which makes me wonder how much I have been missing. The story is well written, with good humour and great care of the details and though the end of romantic books are usually known, I found myself reading eagerly to reach that point .I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Thumbs up.
