The Impostor's Kiss Reviews

Update since I originally wrote this she andor her publisher have noted at least on where the books are being re named and re released This is actually a common practice; however most authors will add a note in the book summary noting where it was released under a different title Crosby is still a great author and I have enjoyed her books I was just disappointed at the time to have discovered this done several times I read hundreds of books a year for my own pleasure Money purchasing duplicates could have gone to another book or authorCaveat emptor I own all of Crosby's booksmany in duplicate or triplicate simply because Crosby renames books and does not let customers know it's re published She's done this several times to the same book I started buying her books shortly after acuiring my Kindle in 2012 She is a good author with less than ethical practices This book was originally published under a different title It is not uncommon for authors to re publish a book; however they should let readers who may already own the book know this The version I purchased in 2016 was The Imposter's Kiss Nothing gets my goat like an author who consistently renames a book slaps on a new cover and then trots it out like it's never been published before It is deceptive I nearly purchased Seduced by a Prince on AGAIN simply because it had been so long that I didn't recognize the main characters A simple title search and links within did not show I owed it Thank goodness for Goodreads After not finding the original receipt under Seduced by a Prince I found it under The Imposter's Kiss when researching the Goodreads site same book just marketed to fool unsuspecting customers Ethical authors will note their book was previously published under another title You lose my business when you chose deceptive business practices This is SO not cool

I thought the premise of the book was interesting Unfortunately the delivery was disappointing There's a mix of The Prince and the Pauper Robin Hood and Parent Trap There was no real closure so I feel like I'll need to read the second book for it all to come together

I dislike books set in fictitious countries though this one was set in one for a very brief time with the majority of the book being set in northern Scotland The hero heroes actually as there are 2 books in this duo are bastard twins separated at birth by a wicked father he gets to keep one twin the mother keeps the other and is sent to Scotland I should have stopped there and put the book in the donation bagI've always enjoyed Crosby's books but this one just didn't do it for me I'm about to start Book 2 in a few minutes I hope it's entertaining that this first book was It was a mish mash of too much going on bandits running wild in the Scottish hills a mother wheelchair bound the sweet heroine caught between the proverbial rock and hard place Jeez and to top it off the ending was brutally fast Like the author ran out of space for the word count and had to jam everything in just a couple of chapters I feel that I'll have to finish Book 2 just to find out how things turn out I keep my fingers crossed that it will be better than this one

Nicely detailed plot with great intrigue What is a the big secret? What happened after the twins were separated after birth? Highly recommend this historical romance

Seduced by a PrinceThe Impostors Seriesbook 1 by Tanya Anne CrosbyThis was a fantastic read I truly enjoyed thisLady Fiona Elizabeth MacEwen has fallen in love desperately believing that her life will be that of a fairytale Not the cruel proposition that was forced upon her for what mother would choose between children The man she loved Julian Merrick Welbourne III was a monsterOn his journey for answers to Glen Abbey Manor Merrick Westbourne never anticipated to meet his exact image get knocked on the head and meet an angel all in one night His father has kept a secret from him and he vows to find the truthChloe Simon never held Lord Ian Lindale in high regard but after being knocked on his handsome head he’s been acting strangely Especially after that kiss he so unexpectedly stole from her Things are not as they seem at Glen Abbey everyone is hiding a secret from Lady Fiona to Lord Lindale And who exactly is Hawk? Secrets and deceptions are plentiful will they destroy the blossoming feelings for Chloe? Or is the impostor the man she’s fallen for?Tanya Anne Crosby has a gift for weaving entertaining stories that captivate the reader This was such a gem of a story I loved Chloe and Merrick she was just what he needed a spitfire that isn’t afraid to go toe to toe with him And Merrick he’s not who he thought was love made him the man he was meant to be I also loved the secondary characters the enhanced the story I can’t wait to read Ian’s story and his reaction to the truth I highly recommend this it’s wonderful read with plenty of mystery intrigue and well deserved happy ending This is my honest unbiased opinion all opinions are my own

Many years ago Lady Fiona MacEwen thought she was going to marry her Prince Unfortunately it didn't uite work out like that Now Merrick Welbourne is going to find out who his father has been writing to for years He's absolutely stunned by what he finds With his father's illness the only way he can find answers is by hiding in plain sight Miss Chloe Simon worked alongside her doctor father until his death Then the day of his funeral she lost her home and took work as a nurse While she's there hopefully she can find the deeds to her home This is a story with lots of complications and secrets The characters are fascinating with very good hearts That is except the one who is stealing so much that it puts the lives of everyone in the village at risk This is the first in what is obviously a duet I can't wait to read the next one I loved it
