Back in San Francisco, Mika is working on bringing the Marshall greenhouse back to its full glory despite her sister constantly breathing down her neck about the Matriarch ritual. Claire tries to force Mika's hand, but she refuses to give her sister the power to control her, or Audrey's life. She just can't take the risk.
Mika challenges Claire to the title of Matriarch to her sister's fury. There hasn't been a witch challenge in centuries, and Mika isn't sure she is stronger than her sister but it has to be worth the risk. The only problem is...if one does not yield, both will die.
Can Mika survive the challenge without exposing what she is?

Almost as good as the 3rd one! Claire's secret was kinda given though, so I was not surprised. The chapters between setting the ritual's date and the challenge finally happening felt so looong! That's why the 3rd is still my favorite. I like how the author decided that she would have to kill her sister and make the hard choice, that's refreshing. I wonder if more will arrive to their harem... Maybe it's time?

I am sooooooooooo glad this did not end on a huge cliffhanger, just a small one :) Since it's going to be a couple of months until the next one comes out...I am off to read about the foxes & Kenzie now!

The best yet
I am loving this entire series and this has been the best one yet. Mika is a totally amazing kick ass FMC and I am totally crushing on her guys. -
Welcome to the thunderdome , raven style!!
This series just gets better and better!! Welcome to the Raven Thunderdome everyone! Allies and enemies alike gather around to see Claire and Mika duel it out for rightful matriarch. WHY is Mika fighting her sister you ask? Now, now, that's telling. You'll just have to read and learn for yourself. Oh and be sure you've read the previous books before just jumping into this one or you won't get all the relationships and subtext. Mika uncovers someone or something has hidden the history and memories of blood witches. Something sinister happened, and may still be happening. She and her little family will discover what's happened at some point. What she didn't expect was her sister to be a part of this. First her father and brother, and now her sister? Yet she still has family by choice, which is made up of the most interesting set of shifters, witches, demons and .. Oh yea Lucifer 😉. To say this is an interesting read is a vast understatement! I can't wait for the follow up! -
Truly Wicked
This is honestly the best book of the series so far! Mika has grown fantastically throughout the previous books and she's steadily become one of the fiercest heroines in the genre!
The revelations and twists are numerous throughout the book, and I was gripped to the very last scene. I won't risk spoilers, but I'm both excited and terrified to see the fallout in the next book. -
Wicked Blood Review
This series quickly became a favorite of mine, and it just keeps getting better with each book that is released! I love all the characters and I can't wait to see what happens next in the series. -
Holy guacamole! So many revelations in this one. About the last witch queen, the Purge, her sister. Mika has to struggle through her toughest decision yet: yield or die. What is family and what are you prepared to sacrifice for change? Read this book to learn Mika's answer.

For the story it would all be 5, but all that porn is discusting, I do not need that, so I started skipping those pages. The rest is just 5 stars, I put 1 off because the porn scenes in it, sorry.

5 stars for Wicked Blood by Emma Dean. This is book five in the University of Morgana:Academy of Enchantments and Witchcraft series. Wow this series is killing me. It keeps getting better and better . Mika faces a lot in this book but the hardest part will be when she challenges her sister. In the challenge you must either yield or die, so what will happen. “Death is always gentle, Mika. It’s merciful and kind.” With everything going on we do finally start to get answers , but at the same time we get more questions. I think this book might be my favorite so far out of the series. It was extremely intense. Mika and her men’s relationships are becoming stronger. We do get a decision from Corbin about what he wants with Mika. FINALLY lol. While some may not like how Mika acts in respect to her relationship with her men , remember she has pretty much been betrayed by every man in her life. Be ready for a salacious cliffhanger. I can not wait to see what happens next.

Sssshhiiit I have to wait for the 8th book *moans in exasperation*
This series has sucked me in. This has plot!!!!! But I have a question... will we know about the red eyes from the game? The sad looking, kind eyes that showed surprise when she walked towards them. Or did I miss where that was explained?
Gah, I will have no want or will to read anything until this next one comes out. But I have a feeling it won’t be the last and I’ll be screwed again.
Btw I love Corbin. I seriously enjoy RH stories like this. But his character could be the only love interest and I would love this series. -
Illuminating
In this book we see Mika dealing with some very weighty concepts, about herself and her family, whilst realising there is a bigger mystery behind the last 200 years or so of witch history. While continuing to train for battle Mika also begins to realise that “friends are the family you choose”, and that she can rely on them for support and comfort. Though it’s not all serious, in her romantic interests, each relationship is in a different place and humour still makes a showing! Looking forward to the next book. -
This fifth book brings some answers but so many more questions. Mika may be currently out of school but that won’t stop the training and all the books. Now she needs to take care of her own clan. Can she allow her older sister to become the matriarch? It would be allowing a woman who looks down on all but the elite to have control. But can she take it or even want it? The story will explain more about The Morrigan and also see the relationship she has with her men change. Definitely has some hotness and plenty of magic.

Dean knows how to end books
My first 5 stars of the series.
There’s always been something holding me back but there was a lot of pain in this one and I thought it both appropriate and amazing. I love that Mika went through a lot, that I got to connect with her a lot more with what occurs. My initial thought was that this would be a filler because it’s summer break but if anything, this turned into a well-needed reconnection between the meaning of life and upholding passed-on responsibilities.
Dean has a way with writing and I love the characters. -
I am so happy we got to meet Lucien's pack in this book. However, I feel like the plot is really dragged out to make this series longer than it needs to be. I really hope she does NOT get together with Malachai, were through 5 books, and I feel like it would be just weird to make someone a love interest after 5 books of them being just FRIENDS. So hopefully it doesn't go that way. I feel like the twist with Claire wasn't that big of the twist, and I kind of wish it didn't happen. I said what I said.

A Magnificent Story!!!!!!
Oh goodness this story gave so many answers but left so many questions. It is magnificently written and the characters are stunningly beautifully. Their personalities are felt throughout the story and it is so well written that you feel as if you are part of the story. The ending of this book in the series is superb and very unexpected. It is a story that is a must read and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. -
Wicked Blood has great sense of family. It is showing Mika that she has more family than she thought because family isnt always biological you can make it also. I loved the Chaos of Lucians family and also the training. and the friendship in it is amazing. The ending is devastating and refreshing all in one hit. We also have some revelations and secrets that come out. i love Mika's men alot and cant wait to read more of their journey

This was good. Entertaining and I didn't want to put it down.
The only bug I really had was this is called the University challenge and at no real point was she in the university. Seems a little bit off for tbis series... just an opinion. Its set the stage foe her big show down with I'm guessing the head witch.
Also the RH is developing nicely. Ethan is my favourite. That sex scene was steamy!!! -
I loved this book, it was action packed and an emotional rollercoaster, I was on the edge of my seat and hooked from the first page. I love that Mika's finally out of her shell, thanks to her boys, but will she be able to do what's needed when she's facing Clare across the Circle? Another amazing instalement with fantastic narration, I can't wait for the next book.

All the Feels!
Mika had me feeling so many things throughout this book, she grew so thoroughly through each encounter she had and learned as much as she could. And Knowledge is Power as we all know, she has armed herself with so much she can not possibly loose in her endeavors. She is a beautiful character, and my favorite. I love her men but she's chef's kiss perfect. -
Why the bloody cliff hanger essh author why!!!!
-
Wicked Blood
The knowledge of her ancestor’s sacrifice and the hatred for the injustices suffered by paranormals Mika makes a decision that affects family. -
This book was MUCH better. I did not see the reveal coming at all. On to the next!
