Bitch, you cheat on him and then you have the AUDACITY to be jealous and say he's the best thing in your life...

Lucian deserves better. That's the whole book.

I really wanted to like this series...

It just felt like things were falling apart, some things just don't make sense to me and there's not really character development... And how am I going to care or connect with the character if all the emotional stuff was very surface level like the first book.

I have no idea why Melany would have 'felt' something for HIM; I don't get it. You barely know HIM. From what I read she reminds HIM of another person... we all know who... Maybe that's the only reason HE went after her and her powers... and HE is confusing her...? manipulating her...? using her...? There is no way HE has good intentions... Over all it felt creepy and weird... they... together... yeah, no... their relationship should only have been a teacher/mentor and student... nothing more... Also, I thought she was with Lucian...? I mean, they were no dream team but still... I thought he was going to be the only love interest or maybe introduce another friend for a love triangle but NOT HIM... I would absolutely not believe it if HE said that He has feelings for her, maybe HE cares but not feelings... and it is probably because she looks like HER... and don't get me started on the age gap... she just what 18? she should have been at least 25 just to even have HIM as a love interest... cause wtf...

I was going to keep reading the next books just to see where all this was going, but no... I read a spoiler, a few actually😂 and it seems like I'm going to dislike it, apparently it doesn't get any better. Thought about reading just cause... but nah, I'm not going to do that to myself. I prefer not to know.

The concept had potencial. I loved the idea of a Greek mythology academy, learning about different subjects and skills. Not only that, it seems like the fmc was going be more of a morally grey character, which I wanted to see. It absolutely PAINS ME and breaks my heart to say this since I LOVE the romance genre... but the romance/relationships in this series kind of ruined it for me... Never thought I was going to say that.

I received a free audiobook from the author and the review group Audiobx in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Melany has passed every single trial thrown at her at the end of her first year of Demigod Academy. No one has ever managed this before, and she's also been claimed by Hades which is incredibly strange. The gods argue, but eventually Melany is taken by Hades to the Underworld to train. Her time alone in the Underworld with only the enigmatic Hades and the bloodthirsty Furies may change Melany for good.

I really enjoyed this installment! I missed a lot of the training scenes with Mel's friends. She still got to see them a handful of times, but the changes she'd undergone in the UnderworldI made her something different from them. Seeing Mel trying to figure out Hades was fun, and I wonder if there's truly something between the two. I also loved the Furies! They were a bit resentful when they first started training her, but Mel improved a ton from their tutelage.

We also get some progression into the overall plot line aka the war the gods are training Mel and her friends for. Honestly, I wasn't surprised who was behind it. But I definitely think there's more to it than Hades is letting on. He is very cagey and he is totally hiding something. Persephone is brought up in this book and Mel doesn't know who that is which just made me cackle! But I am a bit of a mythology buff so it's fine haha.

I wish this had been a bit longer, it felt like the whole book whipped by! I want more. Also that ending was mean AF! Like what the heck!! That character better be okay or I'll be mad.

Oh wow..... now this is a brilliantly fantastic read. I have come to expect the best from Elisa and she does not disappoint.

Demigods Academy year two picks up directly where year one finished. Your transported into a world of chaotic selfish gods. Warrior teenagers training to be the best warriors at the academy.
Melany the lead MC she is just fantastic and completely bad ass.... there is so much i want to write in this review but i don't want to give anything away with spoilers.

There is a certain male figure I'm rooting for...... H****
I have loved both year one and year two... i literally am busting for year three. Desperately awaiting to know what happens after an ending like that.

Both Elisa Amore and Kiera Legend are jusy amazing authors. Absalutely fantastic read..5 huge stars...

3.5-4 Stars. I see these books compared to the Percy Jackson series and while they have similar elements like they are using some of the same characters from mythology, I really don't think that is a good basis for comparison. Yes these books are neck deep in the Greek Mythology, however, this series has a way more YA/NA feel to it. This series also has a much more fast paced plot that doesn't have a ton of side quests and meaningful adventures. Its more this is whats happening get on the boat.. I do think that the author has done a good job recreating and almost reinventing the characters while also keeping some of the original aspects. Its obvious there is a much bigger picture happening and we are only just getting to the main story line. I'm a little confused by the "why choose" romantic aspect it seems we have going on. Our FMC, Melany, has these "connections" to certain guys. I can't find out if this is going to continue down that road or.. if shes going to be forced to make some hard decisions in the future. For a split second here during our final battle scene I thought the decision was going to be made for her.. but ya know.

Melany, after completing her trials perfectly in book one, has been claimed by Hades for his house.. only he doesn't have a house at the Academy and everyone is in an uproar. Secrets are stacked and fingers are flying about the destruction going on in the world around them and Melany is out to get some answers.. except now she is cut off from her friends as the only one belonging to house of Hades. Training is no freaking joke down here.. and it seems time flies when in a different realm. By the time Melany can make it back to the Academy she has been gone for weeks, and it seems she may no longer have a place among the living...

I am excited to see where this heads but also nervous as well. One more book in this "season." Not sure what is going on with that. Does that mean that we will be kicking names and taking butt in the next book and setting some things straight, or are we going to get drug along till next season? I guess we will find out.

Hades has claimed Melany for his House. His argument has merit, so she is separated from the rest of her class and taken to the Underworld. There she lives in luxury but is lonely. Her needs are filled but her life is completely controlled. Her training is effective but brutal. Her dinners with Hades, his approval are becoming her highlights. On the rare times she is allowed back to train with her classmates, it does not go well. She has changed. They no longer trust her. They are afraid. To the Hall of Hades this is not a bad thing but it leaves Mel even more unsettled. When Hades gives her a "special assignment" she accepts and what she discovers makes her even more suspicious of the gods. The gods have plans and the humans are disposable to them. Mel is determined to make sure that they are not.

This series is absolutely intriguing. I am not sure what will happen. I am not sure who I am supposed to trust or even who I like. I like Mel and Lucian. They are sweet. But then there's Hades. He makes Lucian seem like a boy. There is nothing sweet about him. Yet he has moments... I am concerned about his motives. Persephone was his great love. Melany is no one's substitute. She is also not a tool at his disposal. She's not his equal obviously since she is his trainee and I am fine with that dynamic but when they interact on a personal level I don't want him to be interested because of a resemblance or a certain familiarity. I want him to want her for who she is or to keep himself only as her mentor. In other words, don't play her! I find the furies fascinating. Scary but fascinating. I love Cerberus and I would like a little more Charon. Honestly, I would like more of Hades Hall in general; interactions with the few inhabitants, details about the underworld, more conversations with Hades. I didn't like the growing divide between Mel and her friends. They seem to turn on her way too fast while her former teachers were more understanding. And that ending. What a cliffhanger. Can't wait to see what happens next!

"I recieved an Advanced Review Copy of this book."
Omg wow. Melody is even more bad A. I'm definitely #teamHades I have to say I like Lucian I do but I feel she is meant for Hades. I was team Hades in book one. I even put it into my review then. So I'mma stick with it. I loved that it started right off from book one. I like the new characters they are interesting. I love the doggie!! Funny she called it that. Hades is really a tough nail to crack. He is very mysterious in his own way. The God are definitely hiding something important. That ending really shocked me. If that is truly how it ends then Melody will definitely become darker because her burning anger because if the two God's didn't do that then what happened wouldn't have happened. She even tried to warm Zeus about it but he didn't listen and took the lying God's side. I bet book 3 will be so action packed. Cannot wait.

Demigods Academy Year Two has exceeded all my expectations. Following Melany's training in her assigned clan made me want to read faster with every page. (I'm not going to spoil which one for those who haven't read year one.)

Once again, Elisa and Kiera have done a phenomenal job bringing Melany's journey to life. They created a world of Gods and Demigods that the reader becomes a part of. Melany has become one of my favorite characters as she is relatable, funny and bad a$$ in her training.

This is a MUST READ for anyone who enjoys YA supernatural fantasy! I can’t wait for Year Three.

  • Ali

Wow just wow from page one I felt like I was on a crazy wild rollercoaster. Talk about going from crossing your fingers Mel would join Lucian on zeus clan from Hades showing up saying he's claiming her and she has no say in the matter. I had so many emotions running through me reading this book. I cannot wait for year 3 as I'm not ready to leave this ride. Hands down I recommend this book to all fellow book worms. #TeamLucian

  • Leslee

This book was absolutely fantastic. I loved it. Left right off from book 1 with Hades showing up to claim Melany. Amazing writing I couldn’t put the book down. It was so fast paced that one minute you’re starting and then you’re at the end. Between Hades Hall and everything that Melany is learning from the Furies with training she is becoming a fierce warrior. Love this book.

  • Chyenne Bridger

    Oh, my Demigods!
This book was amazing, and just as great as the first one. It was filled with the perfect amount of everything, that had me hooked from page one. Ms. Legend and Ms. Amore have out done themselves. #Teamhades

  • Amber Behnke

Second book in the Demigods series!!! I loved this continuation of the story. Had twists I didn't see coming and I really can't wait to read year three!!!!

  • Mandie

This book was fantastic! Year One was great, but Year Two has so much more awesomeness going for it!! I couldn’t read it quick enough! I can’t wait for the next installment to come out!

  • Becky

    Mythical

This is the second installment it follows melanys life within the demigod academy, a school set up for demigods. the first year she spent there she felt like she was an imposter, this year she feels like an outcast, this is down to her becoming Hades trainee.
She is sent to the underworld to start her training which isolates her from Lucian and her friends.
Hades allows her to return to the academy and she is feared so when she returns to the underground she trains harder than ever, not everything.is at it seems at the academy though and when trouble strikes can Melany and the underworld save the day or will there be more tragedy.
This book as fast paced as the first one and has me intrigued.
My favourite character is Lucian his love is still staying true to Melany
My least favourite is zues because be hasn't given Melany the choice
I would definitely recommend the book to someone who likes the supernatural
Roll on the next installment :)

  • Katie

    Damn what a cliffhanger

  • Sparkle, Stories, & Screams

I love that this book picks up EXACTLY where the last book left off. Definitely getting a Hades/ Persephone vibe. I like the Furies being intricate to the training. Melany's time in the underworld is where she seems to be comfortable and unapologetic, if only we could have MORE of those moments. The was that she can be vulnerable with Hades and he can just flip on a dime is so frustrating. Gods.......am I right? I like that Melany's character really doesn't know how she feels and really isn't sure if she wants to take a decision on those feelings yet. There is still a lot of mystery surrounding her past and what is happening in the mortal realm. This series just keeps getting better and better. Now seeing them start to own their powers. Melany knowing she can count on her underworld allies. Next book please!!

Demigods Academy: Year Two picks up where Year One left off and things hit the ground running from there. Mel has been claimed by Hades to be trained as she has affinities that suit him. Not everyone is on board with this turn of events, of course, but seeing as the gods are the ones in control...just best to go along with it. What Mel doesn't expect is to be taken so quickly from her friends and whisked away to the Underworld.
This book is absolutely gripping as the authors drop us back into Mel's world. She's going through changes with her training with Hades and the Furies. She's getting stronger, faster, and...darker. She's still the same person, but her training is taking in a different direction than her friends. She's told that she can't go back and be with them, but Hades allows her moments to return. Mel begins to struggle with the different paths that they seem to be on. Things are shifting between her friends and when she shows off her strengths she's looked at with fear. Mel is intent on finding out what really happened at her old home, but the question arises...could the gods themselves be involved?
I loved the pace of this story, and I like that Mel is getting stronger and becoming more. I didn't like that her friends kinda seem to be a bit flakey. There are moments where the girls seem to be more accepting of the things that they see and/or are told. It makes me view them less as friends because they don't try to get to the bottom of things. I mean...they've spent more time with her than Lucian, but he's the one who isn't so quick to believe all the time. I don't like how he's handling things with Revana. I get that he's trying to be amicable with her, but it seems that he is allowing things to get a little too friendly at times. Also, I need him to tone down the jealousy a bit.
I honestly can't wait for the next book in this series as the plot thickens and while some pieces are coming together, more questions are arising as well. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you have read the first book in this series and enjoyed it then I highly recommend that you grab this book as well and dive in!

Captivating sequel in a great series!

I love audiobooks that have a female voice for a female PoV and a male voice for male PoV. Both narrators did an amazing job. Listening to this story and following along was such a breeze I didn’t even notice time passing by lol.

The story is told alternating between Melany’s pov and Lucian’s pov, which is a welcome tactic because when a group seperates, you can still follow with both parties. I’ll admit, I did worry a bit that the story would focus on one part after the event of book 1 and that the other part would fall away, that it would be on hold for a certain amount of time but my worries were uncalled for. This is by far my easiest read for the year, I love this world and it’s characters.

Keep in mind though that this story does end on a sort of “nooooooooo don’t let this be the end of the book please” kind of cliffhanger.
This book was over way too soon. It has been a long time since a story could grab my attention like that, or rather, holding that attention, that is.

I can’t wait to see what Melany and her friends will have to endure in book 3. I’m slightly worried about so much still needing to be told and there being only one installment left. But since my worries at the beginning of this book proved to be uncalled for, I can only assume these ladies will nail that plotline and I can’t wait to get to know it!

Demigods Academy-Year One was the first book to really draw me into the academy genre. It was incredible. The cliff hanger was painfully good. So I have been eagerly awaiting year two and HOLY COW, it did not disappoint. I read it as soon as I knew it was out and entirely devoured it. The character development, the cliffhanger, the darkness absolutely destroyed me. Am I #TeamLucian or #TeamHades...? I HAVE NO FLIPPIN' IDEA. One moment I am rooting for Lucian's pure and steadfast love and the next the mysterious yet intense Hades is melting my heart. Lucian is a dream incarnate and yet let's be real, I WANT for Hades to be desperately in love with Melany. I want so badly for him to love HER not just the idea of her. Ugh my emotions are a mess after this book. There is so much build up and the cliffhanger just leaves you in tears dying for the next book. It ended way too soon, and I wish it was just a bit longer. This is the best academy world I have read and I NEED the next book. Will Lucian be okay? Will Hades and Melany be together? What the HECK is happening at the Academy??? This series is incredible and I desperately need the next book.

    3 & 1/2 stars rounded up.
I think I liked book 1 better than this book (2). Though I think book 2 was written in a better way. Book 2 does have quite a few typos & proof-reading errors. Melany has drastically changed- and not for the better, in this book. I don't like her -like I did in book 1. Lucian is also changing, and I'm not sure what to make of him. Hades is a huge conundrum thrown into the mix. Not sure which team I support, team Lucian or team Hades. I personally don't know how to feel about him, one moment- I hate him, the next- I think he's fantastic. I'm sure that's the whole point of his character to the story though. I'm on the fence on this series. The cliff hanger ending is dramatic, though it may be the only reason I will read book 3 at this point.

  • Amber

Wow! What a book! Book 2 definitely packed one heck of a punch that I am still reeling from. I sure wasn't ready for the book to be over but that is usually the way of any awesome book I guess. I have yet to decide if I am Team Lucian or Team Hades so I will hold off until the next book. They each have qualities I like and some I don't so they are on an even playing field right now. I cannot wait until the next book!

  • Sandra Kaye

    In total lust

So I have to say the only reason this is not a five star review is do to some editing issue that distract from how amazing this series truly is. Melany is a kick ass heroine but when it comes to to Lucian vs Hades I'm torn but definitely in total lust. Can't be love till I decide who's the best choice..lol Will read more.

  • Melody

The plot isn't nearly as interesting in this one, but I'm still mildly interested enough to want to see how it all ends.

    **3.5 Stars**
Book 2 starts right where book 1 ended, with Melany chosen by the mysterious Hades to be his champion. She is instantly whisked away to his underworld layer, where her training begins- and so does her growing darkness. Instead of the group dynamic and camaraderie she is use to, Melany instead has one on one coaching with the tough furies, a few confusing exchanges with Hades and tons of isolation and loneliness. You could practically feel her sorrow and grief over being alone, this girl needed a hug bad!

Full disclosure, I am such a sucker for anything having to do with Hades. And sure, he is probably a bad guy in every sense, but I will admit to loving him and his maddening personality and lack of respect for basically everything. I may have shipped him a teeny tiny bit for Melany, which was awkward (and made me feel guilty) since her actual boyfriend was a narrator/main character of the book and genuinely a nice guy.

Overall, I feel a little bit let down by the book, which may be my own fault since my expectations were very high. I really enjoyed the first book, loving Melany and crew and the world the author built, but this one felt different and not in a good way. The relationships I loved and rooted for were gone and Melany in general was very different from the girl I cared about. That being said, I will need to read the last book in the trilogy to see what will happen next, especially with the terrible cliff hanger ending this one had. It also helps that the book is narrated by one of my favorite audiobook narrators, who makes every listening experience great, so pick up the audio format if you want to read the series.
