Escrito a três mãos pelas autoras Lacey Carter Andersen, L.A.
I remember reading the first chapter of this book in the advent calendar I got in December. I also remember that the ending of that first chapter made me a little unsure if this was a book for me, even though the rest of the first chapter was amazing. However, for a limited time this book was free on Amazon so now I had nothing to lose anymore, right?
And damn! I really regret not picking this book up sooner! The ending of the first chapter gave me an indication of the direction it would take, and I wasn't sure if I'd like that, but I was so wrong! This book took a totally different turn and this was a turn I was so into! I hope that I can catch up with the other two books before the last book in the series comes out so I can read it on release day.
Because I really love this plot and where it's going. The plot is paced perfectly. It starts with a very amazing scene that immediately sucks you in, then it gives us a little time to breath and get to know the other characters and then slowly more and more pieces of the puzzles are given out, leading eventually to an amazing and exciting finale that moved me to the edge of my seat and then came the epilogue that really left me craving more.
I also really liked the characters. I wouldn't call it love at first sight with the guys, I think I need to get to know them a little better for that, but I love the multiple point of views and the fact that we know more than the characters in this story do. Being in the heads of all the characters not only helps me to understand the world better, but it also helps me to form a bond with the characters, even though it goes slowly.
I'm at least already looking forward to next week, when I'll pick up the next book in this series! -
I absolutely freaking loved this book! Callie’s life is anything but normal after a witch killed her parents and cursed her. She has absolutely no control when she changes into a cat, what it decides to do, or where it decides to go- her cat is stubborn and has a mind of her own. Recently, she moved to Blackwater Falls, a seeming normal town where her paranormal investigations led her to, and it definitely has its secrets and mysteries. Hank, James, and Will are her next door neighbors from the local fire department and are sweet, protective, angsty, and full of secrets as well. Callie and her cat’s personalities are curious, snarky, and fierce, but loyal and loving at the same time. Sugar, the fire department’s volunteer, has a great pushy personality, but it’s always for the right reasons, even if they’re unknown. The way that Callie and the guys connect and banter is hilarious and I thought it was great to see different parts of the book from everyone’s POV. I found this to be slow burn, but that didn’t lessen my enjoyment at all- it actually fit the story better! There is an actual plot, I swear, you just have to get there, but be warned: it does leave on a cliffhanger and wanting more!

Fun!
Fun, but a little fast plot wise, this slow burn Rh offers up a secret world hidden from the modern view- a world our FMC is determined to find, for reasons of her own. It’s unique and rather delightful, with hot firemen and a girl who turns into a cat at the most inconvenient of times.
Pros:
- I worried about 3 authors, but this worked really well.
- I like that the guys like her right away, but none of that insta stuff, just a strange protectiveness.
- FMC is smart and determined, plus she’s a blogger, so she is automatically my friend.
Cons:
- Bit Predictable. -
*Spoiler Alert*
Callie (FMC) can change into a cat but her cat isnt exactly co-operative and has a mind of its own. When it falls asleep in a firehouse one night Callie wakes up naked on a hot fireman's bed. Which leads to various scenarios with her and three hot firemen - Will, James and Hank. These firemen are not all they seem though and thats where the story becomes more interesting. In fact the town in general isnt. A funny, witty book with great characters and a brilliant story -

Callie is cursed (and we should all be so lucky). She turns into a cat at times but has no control over over the change, the duration or the change back. She is on a mission to discover who cursed her and how to remove the curse. This search has taken her to a town full of paranormals and now her life may be in danger. Throw in the fact that her cat seems to prefer spending nights at the firehouse next door with the three sexy firemen and Callie's move has been eventful.
The blurb for this book needs to be rewritten. This book is fantastic. It's cleverly written, original, and funny. Callie is a good lead female and the men all have just the right amount of baggage to be sexy but not pathetic. The sexual attraction was there from the beginning and the tension is building. The characters could have come across as too angsty or earnest but there are so many funny, awkward moments thrown in to keep it from taking itself too seriously even though the main story line is serious. I really enjoyed it. However, you don't get any of this from the blurb. It trivializes Callie and doesn't really give you any sense of the story. Trust me, take a chance on this one. You won't be sorry. -
I was expecting something with a lot more humor and I didn't find much of anything to find funny. If there were attempts they fell flat.
The alpha male Will came across as an ass rather than sexy. Other than a few comments that they found each other sexy there really wasn't any chemistry between the characters that you could feel in the writing.
I was about to DNF when they finally got to an interesting part where we see the kingdom and the dowager Queen. I'm interested in learning more about that but over all I wouldn't call this one a must read. -
Puurrfect
This is a quirky funny read. There are a lot of twist and turns and a lot of loose ends and a small cliffhanger. If you are looking for a funny easy going read this is for you. -
Laura Greenwood has become my one-click author when I need something a little more lightweight that just lets me float into a story. That being said, 'Feline the Heat' is book one in her "Firehouse Feline" series and it's fast-paced, exciting, and just a fun fantasy. The blurb does say it's a reverse harem but there isn't much romance in this first book but I could definitely see their attraction to each other. The twist? Callie is a witch, who when stressed, turns into a cat and will them manifest herself back to human, usually in one of the firemen's bed. There's a bit of miscommunication on everyone's part, which is a little frustrating, but that's what gives the story its angst, I guess. It seems to me each of the characters has a secret their keeping so I'm sure, somewhere along the way, we'll find out what's going on and if there is actually a war coming.

I’m not really sure what I just read, but it was so much fun. This is a perspective on the paranormal I had never considered before, and it is just so entertaining. I really like that this is a slower burn romance. Even though there’s lust at first sight, nobody’s jumping into any relationships before they all get to know a little bit about one another. Callie learns several new things that she didn’t know at the beginning of the book, but by the end I think there are still more questions than answers. One thing’s for certain, I can’t wait to dive into the next book to find out more.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout as part of the box set. -
Good beginning
A really good story thats interesting, easy to read with a good story line. Callie is a human who is cursed to become a Cat at the most inconvenient time, and shes on a mission to find out why her family was killed and why she was cursed. Callie arrives at a small down to find anwsers and with interference from her Cat ends up meeting her hot Firefighter Neighbours whilst Naked. Talk about Awkward. But her neighbours are far from normal and Calli discovers new leads along the way whilst also trying to keep her secrets. But she doesn't realise that there's A war coming and she fallen right into the Nick of things. Liked the story the characters are great, Calli is sassy with a sharp wit and each of the guys sexy with their uniqueness. And with the little Tippett at the end I wonder what's next for Callie and her firefighters. -

Good/fun concept.
Poor execution.

Callie had decided to move to Blackwater Falls, where her father had been born, to get some answers to her questions about her parents, a witch, a curse put on her, and how to remove it. First she goes on a stakeout. At least she may get something interesting to write about for her paranormal blog. With five tourists having died on the beach in the last three months, it sounded like a good place to start looking for a possible siren luring them to their deaths. She shivers in the deeply dark night where all she can see is the movement of the ocean but nothing else.
But suddenly she sees a 7-foot bulky creature coming toward her, dragging someone behind it on the beach. Her little dagger and pepper packet no longer seem like enough defense against this siren! Now that it’s closer, she can see it is dragging an unconscious man, but he is still alive. The creature drops him into the mud which glows red and starts to suck him down. The man wakes and screams! Callie jumped out with her knife to rescue him, but then the knife fell out of her hands onto the ground… not cool. The creature turned back to the man and pushed him further into the mud again. Throwing pepper into its face and stabbing it in the chest – which only made it look down, confused at the dagger – let her know this was definitely NOT a siren. What is it? Then she sees symbols on its forehead, realizes what this is, and smears the symbols with her hand, causing the creature to fall lifeless… on top of her. Callie is having a bad day. Her body convulses and her cat-self hisses as a wave comes at her. But at least now she knows a witch sent that golem after this man.
Callie has no control over her cat, not able to decide when she becomes one or changes back to human. The cat has her own mind and does things her own way. Stressed by the events on the beach, her cat goes to the firehouse next door to her apartment, and Callie wakes up in the morning naked on a fireman's bed! Her embarrassing run back home grabs the attention of three hot firemen -- Will, James and Hank – and she will find something different about them. Is her life in danger in this paranormal town? Will her sexy firemen try to protect her and help her find her answers?
This book was hilarious! I think the authors did that deliberately so the reader wouldn’t die of fright! But the interactions of the characters and the events as they are so well-described, will keep the reader chuckling or bent over in hysterical fits of laughter. Grab this fun book and get a close view of the crazy hijinks that Callie gets up to. You’ll love it! -
This one has been on my TBR and I’ve seen it pop up. After reading a sneak peek, it didn’t really grip me but I read it anyway. In the beginning it feels shallow and stereotypical in every way. The fmc is hot, blonde with blue eyes and clumsy. The guys are hot firemen instantly attracted to her. At this point it was an eyeroll, possible dnf and not again thoughts. Past that, the story is actually interesting and I did enjoy the characters trying to figure one another out. Fast paced, multiple POV and plenty of questions left unanswered.
-
Callie has been cursed as a cat shifter that has no control. She does not want the guys at the firehouse to know. Will she get rid of the curse? Can she keep her secret? What are the men's secrets? Can they keep her safe?

What!!
The storyline is good. I enjoyes this read and can’t wait for the next one to come out! Callie and her fireman. The interaction and way of mystery on finding out about her curse. The ending!!! Omg! Not expecting that. Enjoyed the read. -
Hot Stuff
Who could resist a hot sexy fireman who loves cats and cuddles. Looks like these three can't, just wait til they find out she is the sexy new neighbor they all want to get their hands on too! -
Great read.
This book was amazing. I loved it and I’m so excited about the next book. Mystery and drama and excitement and secrets. Can’t wait to learn more about the Mc -
Good!
Great first book. The expected cliffhanger is a bit big, but details are revealed first that take the sting. Interesting characters and world building, well written. -
Feline the Heat (Firehouse Feline Book 1) – Lacey Carter Anderson, L A Boruff and Laura Greenwood
I’m a woman, I’m a cat – what am I?
Premise: Early twenties woman who sometimes shifts into a cat but is not a shifter and has no control over this paranormal event.
Our FMC Callie is searching. Searching for anything that will help her find out who/what she is.
Our harem presumably consists of the Firemen in the station house next door. Hank, Will and James who have a paranormal secret of their own.
Plot wise the story is good, and I like the way it is told from multiple POVs. However the burn is slow and the book ends on a cliff-hanger. I am not a fan of either of those, so when I checked and saw the next two in a series of four also end on cliff-hangers, I was not inclined to immediately jump in. Perhaps at a later time when I am more in the mood for slow burn and epic build ups to final battles.
This is book one in a four part series. It is a PRN RH romance. It is a slow burn. If you are expecting a lot of sizzle in this book, you will be disappointed. There’s one make out scene between the FMC and one of the Firefighters, but it’s a quick diversion scene rather than a steamy interlude IMO. I gave this 3 stars. -
Authors Lacey Carter Anderson, L.A. Boruff, and Laura Greenwood have teamed up to bring us “The Firehouse Feline” series and kick it off with Feline The Heat (Lacra, LTD., 2019). (laugh) I have to admit I am so glad I do not have Carrie’s problem as I do not want to end up naked in any spot, but especially not the places she does.
Feline The Heat is all about the mystery of the town, the firemen, Carrie, and where the golem came from. It is a solid mystery with many backstories that could take a couple of books to unravel as each character seems to have secrets. This includes the town itself and the supporting characters we are introduced to so far.
I am loving this mystery. It does end on a cliff-hanger, but more of a “hmmmm” cliff-hanger than and “oh my god” cliff-hanger. There is no hanky-panky in this book even though it is listed as a reverse harem book. So far, The Heat is all about the mystery and it actually works so far (laugh). Let’s see what Flames brings us as I am actually excited to see where Callie was running off to. -
This is a wonderful story and start of an amazing series by Laura Greenwood, L.A. Boruff, and Lacey Carter Andersen. I couldn't put this story down. I was caught up in the action from the first page. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Callie has come to a town with the hopes of discovering the truth about the paranormal world and about who her family was. She also has this interesting ability of turning into a cat whenever she gets overwhelm or scared. She moved into the house next door to the firehouse. Her cat takes her there one night where she spends the night with one of the firefighters. She meets Will, James and Hank the next day. They all have magical abilities and try to keep Callie from discovering more about the paranormal world. There is something going on in the town and Callie can't stop from becoming involved. Callie's past is going to come to light. Will the truth come out before it's too late?

This is the first book in the paranormal reverse harem series Firehouse Witches. The series is written by three authors which is something I've never read before. I wasn't sure how well it would be but hey if two can collaborate why not one more. They did excellent job. This book is more of a setup for the series. You'll get to know Callie who is in town looking for answers as to why she randomly shifts into a cat. She meets James, Hank and Will the firefighters next door and the book sets up the plot that spans across the series. So, there is definitely a cliffhangerish ending to this book. You will need to read the whole series to get the full story. The story so far has been well written and very interesting. I'm intrigued by the whole good and evil Supernatural plot. I can't wait to get started on book two.
