I’m just the dirty, poor girl …
… with a junkie for a mother.

Now I’m the new girl.
My mother’s in rehab and the last person I expect to see takes me in so I don’t end up on the street.
Except… BAY FALLS HIGH is like nothing I know.
Rich. Power hungry. A$$holes around every corner. Liars. Cheaters.
And if that wasn’t enough…

I have three of the hottest and baddest guys in school after me.
I didn’t mean to see what I saw to get their attention.
And I swear to them I won’t say a word.
But they don’t believe me.

I’m not a prize.
I’m a toy.
I know once I’m broken they’ll leave me alone…

… but maybe for the first time in my life I’m done with being broken.
Plus, when I find out what they really want from me, I realize that maybe I can be the bitch calling the shots.

Untouched (Bay Falls High, #1) Reviews

  • Marcie

In this first installment of the Bay Falls High series, we meet Tinsley. The smart, dirty, poor girl from the other side of the tracks. She has secrets, but who doesn’t?
When she has to go BFH, she learns that there are rules and then the Rulz to follow.
The Rulz have their eyes set on her but she has other plans.

Kidman takes us on a hell of a ride with this book. The baggage, the secrets, the tension and angst - he covers it all flawlessly and will leave you wanting more.

*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my voluntary review*

I need to stop leaping onto book with endless amount of 5 star reviews because this was an instant fail. From what I had read from chapters 1-6 before dropping it like it was hot, this mess of a novel left me cringing with the unlikable characters, plot and writing style. Needless to say, I’m not the right reader for this type of reverse harem (never really enjoyed that trope anyways) high school romance (can’t you even call it that?) unrealistic drama filled novel.

  • Holly *Confessions of a Lit Chick*

How the hell does this book average at 4.10 stars??
I'm sorry, are you guys blind? Did the have a computer error and the contents of the ebook was a completely different story? Were you abducted by alians? I hope it was the third, as I cannot compute why so many people loved this.

This book is bad. Not the "it's just not my taste" so that makes it bad. It's just plain terrible.
e.g: I hate the book ROOM, but it's not bad writing, it just creeped me out and I disliked that.

So, you may ask, why? Why did I read all 3 books if it is so bad? I'll tell you why. The prologue is dramatic, some bad has happened to the heroine and I wanted to know why.
And the conclusion to this? That does not happen until the bloody third book. I find it very hard to DNF things, and unfortunately, this felt like one I had to finish and then promptly forget, put to rest, so I never pick it up again. Not only that, that teaser? Well, that was sh*t too when the time finally came to read it.

Firstly, our heroine is "poor" and her mother is a drug addict. She then moves in with this rich lady when her mother goes to rehab after OD'ing. At her new hoity-toity school she caught the attention of THE Rulz, 3 bad boys who, well you've got it, rule the school. Constantly the heroine has an inner monologue with herself and wants to prove how bad-ass she is, she isn't though, she's just plain annoying. Always referring to herself as the "dirty poor girl" and referencing getting a "screwdriver" as a threat. Bigmouth and very little back-up. All the jokes also fall flat.

Really this whole series is far fetched, mean girls don't just walk the hall and slap you because you are in their path, people who feel guilty don't seek said mean girls out to get slapped as penance. It was stupid. The Rulz just beating people up because they bumped into the heroine? I didn't see anything to like in ANY of the characters. It was repetitive, words, phrases, plot, enough I wanted to scream. You may say "well if you had such a strong reaction, the writing was done well." NO. This is not good writing, it's awful and it's juvenile.

This whole story is pretty much how the downtrodden girl becomes a rich bully, with her bully boyfriend and bully mates. This isn't Pretty Woman, this is just cr*p.

    Do not bother. AT ALL.

Well, Jaxson Kidman has just confused the hell out of me 😂

I have no idea what happened in this book and no idea what is to come... but I’m completely hooked!

This is a high school (RH-mildly I think 🤷🏼‍♀️) romance following poor girl Tinsley who’s mother has to go to rehab so Tinsley has to go and live with a rich family friend. She gets on the wrong side of the rich popular guys, Pres, Barr and Kip other wise known as the Rulz.

Cue the cat and mouse game between them. Add in some fighting, some jealous rich bitches, some weapons and quite a bit of violence and you have me hooked and inhaling the book.

As I said, I was confused for about 90% of this book but In a good way. I never knew what to expect and I never figured out why the Rulz were messing with Tinsley.

Lots of secrets, lies, drama and sexual tension tension.

I’m gonna need book 2 now, because it’s driving me insane trying to figure out all of the answers.

Wow!!! I don't know if I have adequate words to say how fabulous the beginning of this series is! Yes, it is set in their senior year of high school, but their baggage, secrets, longings are those of someone years older. Tinsley ends up at BFH not because she wanted to, but because she had to to survive. Now that she is there, will she survive the Rulz...the imposing super hot trio that rule the school and everyone's lives it seems. This is a pulse pounding story from the first page and hot damn if you aren't instantly sucked into their world!!! I can't wait for the next one....I love this one and I need the next one asap!!!

Hmmm not sure what to say about this one. Junkie mom almost dies & old family friend comes in the save the day. She ends up finding herself the new student at a school where the boys are betting on who will get her first. Lots of secrets & it had me reading all the available books. Interested in reading the next ones.

    Highschool with horrible kids.

If halves were a thing, I'd give this 3.5 stars. The story was good and intriguing, I definitely felt sucked in and wanted to know what was going on. My major issue with the book was italics. Might not bother someone else, so I want to make it very clear that I would have given this book 4 stars if not for the overuse of italics within the story. The Rulz was always italicized. The ditch was always italicized. Both terms that were used quite often in the story. But on top of that, whole sentences and random other words and phrases were italicized and I couldn't get a grasp on why. The only other issue I really had with the book was wanting to know WHY they were called The Rulz, however, there are more books in this series so it's possible that will be explained eventually. I did like the way Ti questioned so much. She just didn't take everything at face value like some YA/NA characters do. She wanted to know why Claire hadn't stepped in before, she wanted to know why she was getting all of that attention. In spite of the things that bothered me about the book, I do want to know how the rest goes so I will likely read the rest of the series.

  • Shari

    THE DELIGHT

I didn't know what to expect going into this book. I knew there were three books, and that it was going to be a darker romance. I saw it was a YA/NA romance and thought what the heck. I found myself drawn into this more than I expected and probably because it was shrouded in mystery, but also only from one POV. It grabbed me and I delighted in reading them all within 24 hours.

    REVIEW

UNTouched starts with Tinsley Ditkiss (her mother loved Christmas and wanted to name her Tinsel, so this was a comprise) leaving her best friend Ruby to head home. Only to find her mother overdosed in the pantry of their apartment. To say they are poor is an understatement and every sense is tuned into the description of where Tinsley comes from. Upon getting to the hospital a familiar face from the past rescues her. Claire helps Tinsley's mom get into rehab and takes Tinsley in to liv ewith her. But Tinsley never quite feels at home or like she has anything of value to her name.

Claire confused me entirely at this point. Claire was their landlord when Tinsley was young, but ended up kicking them out. Now she shows up like she owes them something and rescues them. It just felt off and formulated. Tinsley decides to remake herself and become Ti, but that just isn't really going to happen. The first night she is there she witnesses something she shouldn't and is warned by a handsome teen to forget and get lost. But Ti has nowhere to go and shows up at Bay Falls High for her first day of school.

On her first day she makes friends with Beth, who gets out of trouble using her menstral cycle as an excuse. She is smacked down by two rich bitches who call her a whore. She meets Denny for the first time, but he is forgetabble to the story. But it's The Rulz that are going to change her world. First confronted by a handsome guy smoking. It's disgusting, but she is drawn to him, but he does something that gets her into trouble. Leaving there she meets the surfer dude with an easy smile who worms out of her the story from the beach. And that is how she becomes introduced to The Rulz.

The Rulz is shrouded in secrecy to her. They torment her with rubber rats in her locker.  Each day leaving something to let her know they haven't forgotten her and her torment is their joy. They don't need a reason to torment her....they are The Rulz.

Little by little they work their way into her life. Both making her feel threatened and aroused. They have money and power. No one messes with them and gets away with it. But she isn't bowing to them even if fear is taking her breath away.

The story is written in short bursts that hit you hard and fast. First person POV all Tinsley. You want to know why they have their sights set on her? Why are they tormenting her, but also seeming to care? Why don't they just leave her alone? Why?

Tinsley does make friends with Gi who is best friends with Iris. They play a big role in Tinsley's life. Iris is a bitch, but at times she lets her shields down and is honest or supportive of Ti. But she also doesn't cut Ti any slack. Gi is more gentle and terribly scared of The Rulz. Ti doesn't feel a part of their friendship at times either.

As you flow from torment to torment/courting to full out courting it becomes sort of weird. Like the torment merges with flirtation that messes with her mind. Sweet one moment, spitting on her hand or leaving a cigarette in her bathroom sink. It is that kind of bullying that isn't fun, but they also start to show they care...like little boys in need to impress the girl, but not let her know they like her.

Remember Denny? He and Beth have a thing, but Denny one day flirts with Ti. Tinsley finally has some fun joking with him, pissing off Beth and making The Rulz notice. And Denny pays the price at the ditch for touching what The Rulz consider theirs.

Each one takes a kiss and it becomes aparent by the end of the story, The Rulz have a bet on who can take Ti's virginity first. Except Ti isn't a virgin. Now the rules have changed and The Rulz don't know it yet.

UNTOUCHED (Bay Falls High Book #1) By Jaxson Kidman

What a tremendous start to a great new series! The imagination that Jaxson Kidman has is something very special. He has the gift of being able to bring a story to life in such a most extraordinary way. This is his 2nd go at YA following Hidden Creek High and man is it a good one!
This is the story of a poor girl, Tinsley Ditkiss who is the daughter of a junkie who gets sent to rehab after an overdose. When the landlady comes swooping in to rescue Tinsley while her mom is away, Tinsley finds herself going to school with the rich kids at Bay Falls High. Right off the reel, she sees something she shouldn't and gets threatened. She has immediately walked into trouble with the Rulz, Pres, Barr and Kipp without understanding why they want her gone. This is just the 1st book in this trilogy and I could not put it down, I am excited to get the next book. Keep up the great work Jaxson! I am enjoying every minute! This is a 5 star read.

Mysterious guys can be tricky writing, if you are write them too vague the reader can lose interest in the characters and not care what happens to them. Which this one is in danger of doing. If not for Tinsley, who is your basic heroin; smart, sassy, not caring about following the Rulz. She’s not from around here and I loved her right away. I don’t know why these tropes call to me. They are so tired but I love them so much! At first you think it’s a RH but it’s super mild so you are not really sure. Kip, Barr and Pres all seem to be flirty with her but they never really make a move so it’s ambiguous.

I liked this one, it was fast paced and not too dark. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop though because these guys are being way too nice. I just hope they don’t go too far. They are being a bit too mysterious and we don’t really get to KNOW them that much in this.

What a wild ride. Made me want to kick butt. Well done Jaxson Kidman, can't wait to continue this journey.

Not sure how I feel. Definitely didnt love it.

This was an interesting read. I really enjoyed the story. I really liked the main female character, Tinsley. She was fierce. She is my kind of heroine. She meets the Rulz or the hot guys as I call them: Pres, Barr, and Kip. They are mysterious and brooding. I think this story was a great start to the series. The ending had me on my toes. I need to start book 2 right away. I can’t wait to read it. Overall, a great read.

  • Jennifer

I felt so sorry for this girl. Her childhood has been nothing short of a miracle she's survived up until now. But survive she has. She adapted more than most prob would have and found her "fairy godmother" or at least thats how she's seem for now.

    POV:h

Tinsley Ditkiss. Her life isn't perfect. It's just her and her addict Mother. On the wrong sides of the tracks.
When Tinsley finds her Mother overdosed, a face from the past turns up from the past to help them out.
Claire, who used to be their landlady/friend who threw them out years before. But has always bailed them out without Tinsleys knowledge, comes to help Tinsley and her Mother. Claire wants to take Tinsley to Bay Falls to finish school and have a normal teenage life that she should be having, instead of looking out for her Mother. And put her Mother into rehab, to get the help she needs.
Claire's wealthy, laidback and has always wanted the best for Tinsley.

She encounters a mysterious guy on the beach her first day of arriving in Bay Falls. And gives her a stern warning to forget what she saw and leave.
Said same guy sets her up to get into trouble at school her first day. Then she's cornered by three guys, standing her ground with attempting a tough girl act.

She makes a few friends, Beth, Gi and Iris.
Of course there's the run in with the "mean girls" Blair and Vicky.

When she finds out who the three mysterious hot guys are, the Rulz, Barr, Kip and Pres. Power hungry, rich, get what they want, get away with anything, practically own everything and everyone. You don't mess the Rulz, break the Rulz, push back against the Rulz. You're not safe even out of school. They see and know all.
Tinsley is on their radar. Making her life a bit difficult, but she's not backing down, just yet.

"I truthfully had nothing and nobody. They couldn't break me through my life because my life was already broken." ~ Tinsley

The hazing with being the new girl, and what her mother is, plus coming from nothing. She's basically told numerous times that she doesn't belong at Bay Falls. Even Beth warns her to go back to where she came from.
But she wants to figure out the Rulz boys.

When she thinks that things are smoothing out with the Rulz she's shocked to find out why Kip, Barr and Pres are paying her all this attention.
Can't wait to see what she's planning. Got a feeling the next book is going to be interesting.

Claire is brilliant, her advice is comical, awesome, but fair. Gi and Iris are a hoot!

If you've read Jaxson's Hidden Creek series there's mentions of that. If not, why not check them out?

This was another great page turner from Jaxson.
The angst, rollercoaster of emotions. I won't lie, I did shed a few tears. I really felt for Tinsley. Yet again another exciting ending! I really can't wait for the next book!

  • Sarah

I didn't enjoy this book or the 2nd. I have yet to pick up the 3rd, and am pretty sure I'll just find spoilers to answer my questions and call it a day.

Ti is a difficult character for me. She's been hardened by life, and is a badass when it comes to a lot of things, but then not when it seems like she really needs to be.

I had endless issues with the writing and felt no connection at all to anyone. The way the characters talked seemed so off, like I was always missing something and didn't understand the scene. Jaxson italicized "they" every time the guys were mentioned, and ended every chapter with the italics as well, like it was supposed to be cliffy and have me eager to keep reading... idk.

The guys all absolutely suck in my opinion. They're vague as shit, overly-aggressive at ALL TIMES, and literally can't say a single sentence without adding "love," "sugar," or "girl." Again, this is due to the writing, but come on. If I had someone talking to me, calling me the exact same pet name in every sentence they spoke, I'd have to insist they stfu. But that never happened - the names stayed throughout both books, and I never stopped rolling my eyes, cue killer headache.

They were rude to her friends and essentially every person they came in contact with, over-the-top when it came to "protecting" Ti, and their whole dynamic just seemed seriously weird. Like, why is she falling in love with them? Why can't she resist them when she KNOWS she's a bet? Why can't she develop a spine after all this time, and put them in their place? They're always smirking, and laughing, and again with the vagueness that wasn't intriguing. I bordered on hating them.

I only picked up the 2nd book because the ending of the first seemed like she was going to be more in charge of her fate. Not the case unfortunately. I guess she wanted to be, and talked a good enough game, but always fell short. So like I said - I'll read spoilers to find out what all the fecking mystery is about, but I won't be finishing the series.

This book series is a prime example of all that glitters isn't gold. Beautiful covers. But what resides between the pages is vapid and dull. This book is what the kids call a try-hard. Tries to be like a million other reverse harem bully romance books, but fails miserably. How one fails to copy a tried and true template, I do not know. It goes like this:

Teen girl comes from a hard-luck background. Mom's an addict, dad's missing in action. Something bad happens and the girl is whisked away to live with a wealthy guardian. She now lives in a fancy mansion, eats fancy food. Drives a fancy car and goes to a prestigious school. But of course, the most popular boys at school hate her and demands everyone else hates her for a short spell. Until libido takes over and well...you know the drill. The story devolves into stupidity and meanders in ways I will not attempt to explain. I've read books that lift a million of the same ideas from each other and still manage to be entertaining. This is not one of them.

I am shocked I made it to the end. I don't know how or why I kept reading. Nothing interested me about the book. In fact, I did something I rarely ever do with books...I skimmed...and I skimmed...and I skimmed through pages of vapid conversations that went nowhere. A so-called mystery that goes nowhere. Characters that are as interesting as watching paint dry in a monastery and well, you get the idea. Adding insult to injury this is part one of a three-part series. So, the author gets to lobotomize you for three fucking books!

If this review comes off as harsh, well what can I say. I'm kind of fed up with having my time and money wasted on low-quality books. Take my advice. Don't waste yours. There are better Bully Reverse Harem novels out there to read.

For all the above reasons, I have refused to rate this book. Moving on.

  • Tianna McPherson (Anna Lee)

OMG this book was so good. You never rally knew what was going to happen or how it was going to happen, hell even why. The BFH credit gives us so much drama, hate, love, angry and so much more that my head was spinning. Tinsley makes the female character so real and authentic. It reminded me of my HS years. But what got my heart pumping was the bad boys of BFH. Pres, Barry and Kip give the males part, I don't know the word...teenage reality. You cou9make up some of the things that they described. It's like you know that they happened in real life. But what gets me thr most is how they make it seem like they are becoming her friend but in the end it's all a big joke. Definitely can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
On a side note I just want to let anyone know that I've been reading as many Jaxson Kidman books as I can get my hands and I'm NEVER disappointed by what he tells us in his stories. They just keep getting better and better. You truly make my day every time I'm able to rwad your words. Thank you so much. This book was beyond amazing and I give it 5 stars. I received this book as a gift and I give my honest review for this book.

  • Leane Ramstead

First book in a new trilogy. Jaxson Kidman is an AMAZING storyteller. He made me love, hate and feel for the heroine. There were times I just felt so sad for her and other times I just wanted to yell at her and other times to cheer her on.
As for the three main guys in the story, all I can say is you have to just hate them. So far as I can tell they have no redeeming qualities. I can’t wait to see what Jaxson has in store and how or if they will ever be redeemable or at this point even likable. How is this going to end up? So many questions. Thank goodness he is not going to make us wait long for the next book.
True example of great storytelling when you can’t stop turning the pages because you just have to find out what is going to happen and you can feel so much for the characters. Whether you love or hate them.

  • Angie Schneider

Wow! Another amazing read by Jaxson Kidman. Untouched, the first book in the Bay Falls High series (#bfh) was just as captivating, if not more so, than the Hidden Creek High series (#hch). I shouldn’t be surprised though as Kidman manages to always present us with such a top notch book every time! It was easy to fall right into this book, Untouched, because you felt so comfortable with the main character Tinsley, as she tells her story of life as she knows it. Her life changes abruptly and she’s flung into a new life, new surroundings, new school.... fresh start....... maybe, maybe not. Pres, Barr and Kip.... well you’ll just have to read to get the dirt on them.... but oh boy! They are a force to be reckoned with (the RULZ)
Thank you for another awesome experience Jaxson, I can’t wait for the next book! ~ Angie❤️

    Amazing 5 star PLUS read!!

HOLY SMOKES!!! Untouched is one hot read!! After reading Jaxson Kidman’s Hidden Creek High series, I thought I was prepared for the much anticipated follow up series of rival Bay Falls High! How wrong I was!! Kidman has outdone himself once again, with the first book in this series! In a town full of secrets, lies, & entitlement, can you really ever uncover the truth? Pres, Barr, & Kip had me wanting to go ax throwing to save my kindle from getting damaged, while I was rooting for Tinsley to come out on top!! The secondary characters rounded out the story perfectly. The cliffhanger was well played by Kidman as it now has me biting my nails, imagining all the possible that could happen next, while not so patiently waiting for Unloved, the next book in the series!! A definite 5 star plus, must read series!! Coleen W.

Poor Tinsley.. She's the poor dirty girl who had to move to Bay Falls because her mother goes to rehab. Used to living the poor life, Tinsley is suddenly living a rich girl's life. Bay Falls High is a school full of rich entitled kids and with that comes certain cliques that you don't mess with, including the Rulz. Tinsley sees something by the beach that she was not meant to and now Pres, Barr and Kip all have their eyes set on her. Little does she know the real reason, but when she does.. she has a little secret of her own! This is just another fantastic book written by Jaxson Kidman and I can't wait until book #2 in the series comes out next. There's going to be more secrets uncovered, so grab a copy and find out for yourself. You won't regret it.

Untouched was a heartwrenching story of a poor pitiful girl thrown into a new town and new life filled with snobby rich bitches and badass boys. They are all out for a piece of the new girl in town. I couldn't stop reading it. There is so much drama unfolding with underlying secrets that plague this town and the people in it. I can't wait for the full story to evolve. Jaxson Kidman is a terrific author. He pours his heart and soul into his work. The realism of his characters and the events of their lives pull you in to their world. They face true life dramas that many of us can relate to our own lives. Awesome read!!

You always know when Jaxson is putting out a new book you better prepare yourself for the wildest ride you can imagine! But that doesn't even begin to describe the Rulz and their quest for Tinsley. These guys will have you swooning, pissed and lusting after them and then questioning whether Ti can survive their games. Watching her navigate through the truths & lies and what she decides to do will make for one epic ride. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and dive into the masterful world Jaxson has created. You won't regret it! The war has begun between BFH and HCH, can't wait to see where this goes.
