Ramses the Damned (Anne Rice's The Mummy #1) Reviews

A love story of other times, as can be told in a Hollywood movie of the 30’s. Two immortals, some great men and women, and a different way of telling some of the most enduring myths of ancient Egypt. Beautifully rendered as screenwriting, not so good speaking about the drawings. But the whole story, more then 400 pages long as a comics maxi series, reverses ample praise both for the characters and about how it is told.

Rice’s lesser work. I was pleasantly surprised to find the last few chapters engaging. But not engaging enough to continue this series.

This book is a captivating blend of historical fiction and supernatural fantasy. Anne Rice’s vivid descriptions bring ancient Egypt to life, and her characters are complex and engaging. However, the pacing can be slow at times, and the plot may feel meandering to some readers. Overall, “Ramses the Damned” is a compelling read for fans of Rice’s richly imagined worlds and intricate storytelling. I enjoyed this easy read immensely!
