When the night falls, he comes out to harvest souls.
He’s silent and invisible —no one notices when he strikes then retreats to the shadows.
Our paths shouldn’t have crossed, but they do.
One day he sees me.
Then he can’t unsee me.

I love a dark romance and a good anti-hero but this was a little much for me.
Jasper is a killer for the mob. He is not a full fledged member of the family but a "dog" which means he works for them but is expendable and can be put down when he is no longer needed. Jasper doesn't fear being put down because he loves what he does and he is good at it. He knows he is a psychopath and he truly has sociopathic tendencies. He is doing a job for his boss when he notices Georgina at the hospital where she works. She turns and smiles at him. Why did she smile at him? Did she know who she was smiling at?
That smile starts the stalker in Jasper. He is obsessed with his "petal" and he begins following her everywhere even gets an apartment across from hers so he can watch her through her window. If you are looking for a crazy stalker romance then this one is for you. I enjoyed the possessiveness that Jasper has toward Georgina. My problem is with the kink. Beware I am going to reveal spoilers and this book is NOT SAFE. This book is DARK! SPOILER ALERT.
.
The story itself was very interesting and it really sped up toward the end. Definite plot twists thrown in and ended on a cliff hanger. I will read the second book just to see how it ends but probably skip around.

I love obsessive sociopathic stalkers! Am I crazy? Maybe.
Ok, maybe I don’t actually love them in real life, but I do love them in romance novels. My very favorite type of book is when a psychopath or sociopath with no empathy or emotions suddenly gets obsessed with a girl. He tells himself he just needs to have her once then kill her and the obsession will be over, but after he gets a taste of her, his obsession just grows and he eventually realizes he is in love with her.
The main character in this book, Jasper is not at that point yet. However, he is way past the obsession point. He is a dog for the mob. What that is in his world is basically someone who isn’t part of the famiglia but works for them. Basically all the dogs are expendable. They do what the bosses tell them to and no matter how well they do their job, if it ever comes to pass where they fail at their job, they aren’t worth keeping around.
Jasper has made himself the best killer that Lucio Costa has and Jasper enjoys his work. So he is not worried about being put down like other dogs. He is loyal to Lucio because Lucio saved him as a teenager. He keeps himself safe from his enemies by constantly moving and never staying in one apartment or neighborhood for too long.
Jasper first sees Georgina at her work where she is a nurse. He’s there to question another nurse and he sees Georgie give this big fake smile to the woman and he wonders what she is hiding under that smile. He can’t get her out of his mind, so he starts to follow her and gets an apartment across from hers, and becomes a regular stalker before finding the perfect way to initiate a meeting.
At the beginning Jasper thinks he will have Georgie once and be done with her and he plans on killing her when he is through with her. He has never been with a woman more than once before. But as his obsession grows he realizes that once will not be enough. I don’t want to give too much away but this book is super steamy. Georgina has some dark fantasies and he finds out everything about her and uses it against her to tie her to him.
There are some side stories about Jaspers job and how he is starting to mess it up a bit because he is so obsessed with Georgina. Also, how the person his boss wants him to “take care of”, may have something to do with an upcoming change of power. So if Jasper doesn’t find the guy before the boss’s brother, then the boss could lose the power in the famiglia.
I really loved the dynamic between Georgie and Jasper and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. The end of the book was a huge surprise and I can’t tell if it was good or bad. I can’t tell if Jasper is good or bad for Georgie actually. I want him to be good, but I just don’t know. I guess that is what makes the book so awesome.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

What in the Blue Grass did I just read??????? I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t read a dark book like this in a long time but….. shocked is not even the type of word that I want to put in to my vocabulary right now. Ya’ll ….. these characters were messed up!!!
After doing a big exhale and trying to articulate exactly what I want to say in this review, I still freakin can't so I deeply apologize in advance if this review is all over the place. He Hates Me is not your ordinary cookie cutter read and I feel like I have to say that first. We have two characters who from the outside are completely polar opposites to each other but once you get down to the nitty gritty, they are one in the same in so many ways.
Georgina lives a very boring simple life and when asked, she will say that she prefers it that way. With a stressful job as an ER nurse, her idea of relaxing after a long day of work is coming home to her two cats and having a nice bath. Simple. Quiet. Peaceful. But what Georgina is about to find out is that danger is lurking around the corner in the form of a man who is going to give her everything she’s ever wanted and more. But at what cost?
“Being liked doesn’t get the job done.
Fear does".
Jasper Cain is a man of few words and he lets his actions do all of the talking. Being a hitman for one of the most dangerous crime family, he knows exactly how to survive in any situation and get the job done. When he sees the beautiful nurse for the first time, he adds something else to his job description that he never saw coming. STALKER. How will Jasper’s new obsession end for a woman he knows deep down he can never keep?
I freakin loved that this book was dark and it never glossed over the gory parts. The writing was almost flawless when it came to that and I think that dark romance fans will not only appreciate it, they will love it and try to savor it as much as possible. The problem I had with this book was the excessive amount of sex scenes. I feel like that took away a good portion of the plot and when things were finally starting to get suspenseful and downright action packed, we were hit with a cliffhanger. I needed more of a storyline and less sex if I’m being honest.
Now what I did enjoy was the plot twist. I didn’t see that one coming and I loved that we were hit with the element of surprise. With these new secrets that were unfolded, there is so much that can happen in book two and I’m excited and so anxious to see how these authors are going to put everything together.
If you’re a fan of dark fucked up reads, then this is your book!!!
Please note: This book does end on a cliffhanger and it is extremely dark.

4 STARS
She has always been mine to own, mine to break and to destroy. Some would call this stalking, but I call it keeping an eye on her.
Well hot damn. What a deliciously thrilling ride this book was. While I've read Rina Kent, I haven't read anything by Isabella Starling. And as a writing duo, these two are absolutely fantastic.
If you follow my reviews, then it's no secret how much I love a good anti-hero. And it just doesn't get more delicious than a borderline sociopathic mob hitman. Jasper's intensity practically leaps off of the pages at you. The man is ruthless, unfeeling, and gets a sick sort of satisfaction from meting out his brand of punishment. His name alone sends fear into grown men and his reputation for being a stone cold killer is nothing to sniff at. An assignment by his boss to find and eliminate an heir to the mafia throne lands him in the parking lot of a hospital where he sets his sight on a beautiful nurse...and the obsession begins.
Georgina is a lonely soul. With her cats to keep her company, she years for something more. But unfortunately no man has ever made her feel beyond a slight interest that wanes as quickly as it appears. She may not be everything that she appears to be at first sight with her fake smiles and when Jasper sees her, he's immediately obsessed.
If you're like me and love your anti-heroes possessive and obsessive, you will fall in lust with Jasper. The man stalks her. Finds any way to insert himself into her life, even murder. And when his expert maneuvering has her best friend from work setting Georgina up with him, he knows nothing short of getting a taste will lessen his obsession.
Thus begins one of the most delicious push and pulls of their relationship. Jasper is crude but in the most yummy way. He's a man that likes it rough and a little resistance doesn't put him off. If you like dub con, this has some of the most delicious scenes. And no, not in a rapey way, but in a true dub con way. Georgina may not fully understand her needs, but the more demanding Jasper gets, the more she feels herself pulled into his orbit. Theirs is not exactly an orthodox relationship. They are a back and forth of hot sex and pulling back, but neither seems capable of staying away. Jasper knows his job won't allow for anything permanent but he's completely incapable of leaving her alone. The more time passes, the more obsessive he becomes. GOD it was good.
The suspense and grit of the story is on point. There are twists and turns that I never saw coming that were pretty jaw dropping. I devoured this book, cliffhanger and all. Luckily the wait for book two isn't that long and I can't wait to see how everything ends.

CNC Stalker Primal Play and Killer? I’m in!
How sad that these authors are unpublishing this duet, but I’m glad I’m getting it read before lol (I’ve had it on my TBR for too long now).
The book opens up in Jasper’s (33) perspective. He’s a killer, a Hitman, a sociopath who doesn’t care about people; he just cares about doing his job. Even though this is mostly true, there are times his sweet side came out- which is how he met Georgina (27). After he murders a man, he goes to warn his nurse wife to leave with her kid before they also get killed, and that’s how he bumps into his Petal.
Georgina’s been alone her entire life. She was in the foster system as a child and never really knew what it was like to have a family. She loves being a nurse, hanging out with her two friends, and spending time with her two cats. But she leads a lonely life. She’s had a couple of boyfriends, but her relationships weren’t groundbreaking. She lives life, but isn’t completely fulfilled. And then she starts feeling as if someone’s watching her… 😬
Jasper gets one of Georgie’s friends to set them up on a blind date after the disastrous one she went on with another one. Right away, he’s alpha, dominant, and aggressive with her… and she loves every second of it 🔥.
There’s something dark lurking behind Georgie’s desires, and Jasper’s more than willing to get them all fulfilled, especially when he continues to spy on her 😉. I loooove me some dubcon situations, and this is full of them. The CNC scenes were 🥵- and the primal play 👏🏻👀. These two have chemistry galore. Both are hiding secrets, but it doesn’t take away from the intensity of their smexxy times. Gahhh. I love a bulldozing H and Jasper is exactly that. She can say no, but he’ll never accept it 😈. And I love how he takes care of her and has her back 💅 even when she doesn’t know he’s there. And man. These two get DIIIIIRTY 🔥😅. Plus, he’s willing to kill to defend her. What’s not to like 🤷🏻♀️😜.
There’s some revelations that get uncovered. I started to piece a couple of them, but was pleasantly surprised when it was confirmed. It ends on a cliffy, which only made me devour it faster.
What I didn’t like/wanted more of:
I’m not a fan of the H slapping the h in the face. This is just my personal preference. It was in character with the scene, but I still cringed 😬.
I wanted more of an emotional connection. It was budding, but I just needed more follow through.
I liked Jasper’s chapters more than Georgie’s. I’m not sure which author wrote whose, but I needed more thinking or angst in her chapters lol.
Even though Jasper knew she was enjoying all of their kinks/fantasies, Georgie gave me whiplash with her moods. Girl, pick a lane! Stay mad and follow through or give in. No wonder Jasper didn’t listen to you 😂.
Also, the way they remembered stuff needed to be drawn out more. It’s gonna be important since there’s a book 2
Overall, I enjoyed it! Jasper only sees Georgie, and I appreciate a dedicated and faithful stalker 🥰

I'm not new to gritty and dark romance reads and I love how dark story authors use their talents to weave a dark tale. While I'm aware of Rina Kent's reads and less of Isabella Starling's reads, these two authors created a dark hero whose inner monologue of killng his victims was unique. I didn't highlight any quotes from the book for that I'm hitting my head but when you read it you'll know what I mean.
I like that the plot is forefront on Jasper and Georgina with a little bit of side plot but it comes back to them focusing on their relationship dynamic. Both of them have dark pasts. Jasper is crazy and possessive and loves to torture his victims. He is irremediable. Georgina is a cat lady who works as a nurse. Her life is simple and boring. From their first meeting they have us engrossed with their oddness and hotness of their insanity.
Few things I didn't like:
* It is a dark stalker romance, but I dont think the book lived upto it fully.
* Georgina goes out on two dates hooked up by her bestfriends. Both dates happen to be psychos and she goes out with them within few days of intervals. Georgina is a loner, I know but with a dark past, a slap-fest first date she readily accepts another date without knowing the guy is where I start liking her less.
* This point may not be fully correct because there is still one more book to consider. Jasper and Georgina have no relationship development. It's sex and tantrums. Maybe in the next book their relationship may progress beyond this.
Not to put you all off by reading these, these thoughts were my curious presumptions. The story was of passion and suspense, absolutely shocking what came at the end, I didn't see that coming! Jasper is such a dark and facinating hero, I actually started imaging the guy on the cover as him. The guy feels absolutely Jasper! This book was an addiction and I am wanting some more of it. -
didn't like it but the smut was good , before I started skipping it 😂🤡

🌟4 'he hates me' stars🌟
So, many of my friends have been reading books by Rina Kent lately so I decided to pick one up too. And when I saw this one:
A dark obsessive stalker romance by Rina Kent? Sign me up!
Ngl, this book was messed up on so many different levels but it was just what I needed! So, in this book, we meet Jasper and Georgina. Jasper sees Georgina when he's running an errand for his boss and has been obsessed with her ever since.
The decimation of the human mind, screwing it up, fucking it over, is what I live for.
Jasper is a cold, ruthless killer and works for Lucio, to maim, torture and get information for him or to kill people (in general) for him. When he first seed Georgina, he really sees her and becomes obsessed with her and the mask of the happy girl she puts on everyday and has a sudden urge to peel away her layers and find out the girl underneath.
Georgina is an ER nurse with a nine-to-five job, two cats, no boyfriend, two best friends and a hate for spiders. But under all of this, she's different, there's a part of her that no one knows but thats only because there is no one she can connect to, no one that really understands her.
I want to have someone who supports me, who pushes me forward just like I've always pushed myself.
Honestly, it was unnerving how strategic Jasper was towards his approach into Georgina's life and how calculated he was, always knowing Georgina's next move and having a counter attack prepared. Not to mention how soulless Jasper was shown, with him killing without a second thought and his always 'calm and unaffected ' aura. But well, I guess both of our MC's had their own kinks which made them connect like pieces of a puzzle; Jasper getting off on hurting others and Georgina getting off on being hurt.
The reason it was a 4 star read for me:
→ This book was steamy but that did not make up for the lack of an emotional connection between those two.
→ Every time she tells Jasper to leave, in her mind she keeps on saying how she doesn’t want him to and when he is almost out the door, she tells him to stay. Like every time! So I didn't like that she didn't stand up for herself or on her own word but well...
→ Ever time they had an actual conversation, or at least tried to, Jasper closed off and then they fought or more like Georgina got angry every single time (he just maintained his coal, unruffled mask), he would just leave. And the times he didn't leave, Georgina told him to leave only to tell him to stay when he was almost out the door.
❖❖❖❖❖❖
But other than those points, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Especially the twists in the end!! There is one thing I love a lot about Rina Kent's books and thats that I never see the twists coming until they smack me right in the face. Like really! Talk about the Royal Elite Series, the Lies and Truths Series or this one for that matter!
I really can't wait to pick up the next book and see where the story takes us, especially after that ending!
He catches me. He catches me not. -
2 stars..
Before I get into my review I want to call out one thing.
Why... WHY... do authors use outdated ideas and objects in their books. Was this written by a Boomer? The heroine has an landline with an answering machine.....Like... people havent said the term "answering machine" in about a decade now. Maybe update your point of reference? I'm picking things up like this all the time. Another example; NOBODY GETS A TAXI ANYMORE. People get Uber's or Lyfts.
Welcome to 2020.
Ok now that rant is done, lets get into the real review.
You ever pick up a book and everything is going so well... until it doesnt? And the more you read you cant help but think, "What on earth is this author trying to do." The more time you spend with the characters, the more you realize youre rooting for the romance to fail.
The hero Is too much of a conceited asshole to have feelings for the heroine. He knows that he'll have to kill the heroine "once he's bored with her." He engages her in extremely dark BDSM but doesnt respect her any other time that they're together.
The heroine Is a spineless masochist. Doesnt have the brain power to recognize the kinks that she enjoyed and constantly fights the hero instead of embracing it. NEWSFLASH: its not weird to like rough sex!!! Why does the heroine always have to be so unwilling to explore her own desires???? Same old same old.
TLDR;
What was an interesting stalker/dark romance turns into a poorly written erotica with never ending sex scenes that lead nowhere. The MC's never have a real conversation that doesnt involve the heroine crying while also having a quivering body, and the hero constantly ignoring what the heroine says while sticking his hands in her underwear with the dreaded 'arrogant smirk.' Wash rice repeat. For 300 pages.
Safety:
-No cheating between hero/heroine
-No OW drama
-Slight OM drama, the heroine goes on a date with her fucking boss (?!?!) and it ends badly. Another guy has a crush on her and interferes with her relationship with the H.
-Possessive/obsessive Hero, but not in the sexy way. More like the toxic way.
-Push and pull on both sides.
-Dubious consent
-VERY ROUGH AND DARK SEX. Heroine has alot of dark fantasies such as choking, rape, kidnapped, violence, and hitting. -
When there's a note at the beginning of a book telling you that you'll see some extremely dubious situations ahead, you probably know you'll get into something kind of crazy. So, first of all, if you don't like very dark/taboo romances with violence, dubious consent, and straight-up madness, you definitely won't like this.
I thought I wasn't a fan of dark romances, but oh boy, did I go down the rabbit hole with this.
He Hates Me tells the story of Jasper and Georgina. Jasper is the number one hitman for a huge mafia family. When he was a kid bouncing from foster home to foster home, Lucio Costa (a mafia boss) saved him and trained him. Jasper is currently extremely violent and known to simply ''get the job done''. He's investigating a new hit for Lucio when he crosses paths with Georgina and gets completely obsessed with her.
Georgina is a nurse with a very boring life. She lives with her two cats and doesn't go out a lot. With no family and only a few friends from the outside, she lives a simple life. But Georgina has her own skeletons in the closet. When no ones watching she's not the plain sweet girl the rest of the world sees.
The push and pull between them is interesting, but more than that I was really intrigued by the mafia plot. It was very well executed and I loved the plot twist.
This is a very explicit erotic book, with some incredibly kinky scenes. It reminded me of fanfic in a way. And again, this is VERY dark. Jasper is a stalker and a psychopath. Georgina has a lot of trauma and issues she needs to work on. I'm not defending their attitudes in any way, shape or form. But the book is also very aware of what is doing, and this is more about suspending disbelief and following their dark tale. And if you are intrigued by mafia/taboo romances, this is one of the few that held my attention, and I'm really curious to see where the story will take us.

***3,5 "His little Petal!!!" stars***
"I hate you... I hate you so much."
"I hate you, too, my pet."
I just don't know when our hate started to morph into something entirely different.
This was a very dark, very erotic and very suspenseful story...
It was a story abοut a man who could be obsessed from just a simple smile and how things could turn out in a clusterfuck!!!!
I have to admit that in the beginning i wasn't invested on the story, but as the pages were passing by, i was intiguing of how the things were procceeding and now... I can't wait to find out more!!!
"I'll never get enough of my little Petal.
She's right, I'm sick.
Because I can only see death parting us."
Jasper was the number one hitman for one of the most notorious families in the city...
He owned his life to his boss and he was very loyal... He was also void of emotions...
And then one day, his eyes catched Georgina's eyes and when she smile to him with her sweet, fake smile, he became obsessed with her and he is craving to unravel all her secrets....
From that moment, a mad obsession had started and he took it to the extreme, i can add!!!!
"She must be hiding something, or she wouldn't have been so efficient at faking, at choosing to be invisible."
"If obsessions has degrees, I'm at the drunk stage where everything and anything is up for grabs.
And my little Petal in my poison."
Georgina was a nurse and she was leading a very boring life, living all alone with only company her two cats... But she wasn't happy and in the darkness of her room, she was becoming a different, sinister person!!!!
Georgina had also her own secrets and they are about to unravel when in her life, is marching forcefully a man that is bringing out her wilder insticts...
A man that is her stalker and her destruction....
"Maybe it's finally time for me to stop living my life like a recluse.
Maybe it's time for me to live a little."
"I can't let myself want this guy. There's something about him, something a little... off.
But it's so hard... to resist the magnetic pull between us, the invisible force that's demanding me to ask for more..."
Well, the truth is that i wasn't feeling the connection between Jasper and Georgina...
Their relationship seemed pure physical and too rushed....
From the first meeting, everything seemed a little bit off to me, but then they had grown on me, as the story was proceeding, but still....
All the situation was pure madness and a little bit... overwhelmed!!!!
"I'm cut with two different emotions. The first, I fucking hate her for bringing chaos into my ordered life. The second, I want to fuck that hate out of her body, use her and fill her every hole with my cum."
"It makes me wonder when I'm going to admit his cruel kind of love is exactly what I need, and what I've wanted this whole time. The missing piece."
Jasper was a crazy motherfucker with very dark insticts and this woman was driving him crazy in every aspect!!!
To be totally honest with you, i don't believe that Jasper's mind is in its right place... He is totally insane and i don't know how well the things will turn out that after all!!!!
As for Georgina???? Yep, she is sweet and kind and lonely, but hell... She is not right in her own mind too!!! Bahaha... So, i guess they deserve each other!!!!
"You keep sending me away. I wonder when you're going to realize I'm never leaving."
"I hope he never stops fucking with my head."
As for the rest of the story??? Hell, the things had taken a very interesting turn and honestly, i don't know what will happen after all!!!
The situation is difficult and delicate....
The secrets are too many and when they will unravel all hell will break loose upon them, and i don't know how they will avoid that ugly situation!!!
"I hate it. I fucking despise it, but it's there like a goddamn constant.
There's no way in fuck I'll be able to get her out of my head any time soon and for that, she has to pay.
I have to pay, too, for not being able to push her out of my system after all this time."

Dark Romance | Stalker Romance | Crime
Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy this one. My dislike for the novel isn’t because it’s a dark romance. I actually love dark romance novels especially those books that push the limits and make you squirm. While this book did both of those things there was nothing redeemable about the characters. Even more, the important plot points were eaten up by all the rough and angry sex. Fair warning, if you continue reading this review there are probably going to be spoilers.
Possible Spoilers Ahead
As I mentioned, this is a dark, stalker romance. Not only that, this book revolves around some sort of criminal enterprise (sort of like the mafia). The “hero”/stalker (Jasper), is a hired killer for them and has no problems getting his hands dirty. Jasper’s job is to find a kid from his childhood and essentially take him out before he himself gets killed (it’s a “him or me” situation). In this middle of all this he “meets” a woman who catches his eye and essentially starts to “stalk her”. Eventually he ends up going on a date with her and they bang like rabbits in the dirtiest ways they can think of. She loves being his dirty little slut… Seriously. She notices here and there that things are moved in her apartment and her window is open etc. and eventually learns it was Jasper. Does she care? Nope. She gets turned on by it (cue weird eye roll). And on they go, screwing and screwing, and screwing some more. Listen, I don’t mind sex in books. I’m not a prude and have read my share of erotica. But the sex in THIS BOOK ate up the entire plot! The crime seemed like a small backstory instead of the main issue Had it not been for the little twist in the end it would have been pointless for the story. I think this is exactly why I couldn’t get into it. I tried so hard to like it but there’s just nothing for me to like. Perhaps the next book will be more centered on the actual plot and not just the sex.
Another thing that got on my nerves was the “stalker” part. I have read quite a few books about stalkers and their dark romances and loved them. This stalker? I don’t get it. Why call him a stalker and say this is an actual “stalker romance” if it’s not going to come off like one? Yes, he went into her apartment unawares 2 or three times, but nothing was explained ENOUGH for us to SEE it. Here we are being TOLD these things happened but never SHOWN it. For me to feel a book and connect with it I need to see it. That didn’t happen here.
Finally, the heroine was flimsy at best. I think it’s cool that she has these weird fantasies and I loved knowing she has a dark fetish like Jasper but getting to know her on any kind of level was nonexistent. I know nothing about this woman even though I spent the last few hours reading her story. NOTHING besides the fact that she likes feeling like a whore (her words, not mine).
END SPOILERS
Obviously, this wasn’t my kind of book. Some people will love it, others may have the same feelings as I do. Of course, I don’t want to rip the book apart or be mean in my review, but I do have to give my honest opinion and back it up with the things that bothered me. I mean no disrespect and hope readers will look at many of the other reviews before deciding if they want to read this one.

I had mixed feelings about the book like i didnt hate it it was ehh okayish.
Jasper oh boy Jasper is a hitman in the mafia he is sick twisted son of a bitch.. he enjoys torture and killing. And he spots Georgie a nurse with a fake smile and a boring job. On the outside thats what she like he is curious and wonders why he has this pull towards her. So he stalks her and tries to dig in her life. Their has to be more to Georgie the cat lady. And the more he spies and stalks the more he uncovers. His girl has some deep dark fantasies and even if hes on a job he can make sure she gets it. But other twist and mysteries are coming out.. now he has more enemies and needs more answers.. and they share a past..and we end with a cliffhanger.
Im still sorta intrested in book 2 i just wanna see how it ends. I really didn't enjoy him having a shock collar and shocking her.. like i get the other fantasies.. but that was just kinda wrong.. in my head.. like couldn't he just handcuff her?
Low angst, no ow drama slight om drama (her date and boss), no cheating, drama, sexy times, no virgins
Slowish burn
Push and pull from both
Rape fantasy

Dubish-con
Sorta abused
Orgasm denial
No condom

Goddamn! Rina Kent has done it again! I am completely blown away by her latest novel, cowritten with the fabulous Isabella Starling. He Hates Me was AH-MAZING!! This story was sexy af, shocking, full of mindblowing twists and turns and delicious obsession!! Jasper and Georgina had a pull and connection between them that could not be denied. I was addicted from the get go and honestly could not stop reading!
I absolutely FLOVED this story! I love how both Kent and Starling penned a story with a ruthless, dominating and dangerous hero. With one look from Georgina, Jasper was completely intrigued and consumed by the complicated beauty. And the combustible sexual tension and attraction between them was PURE FIRE!!! This book will take you to your limits and then some!! I couldn't love this magnificent story any more!! Chock full of secrets and lies and gut punches galore, He Hates Me will take you on a ride of a lifetime. And that ending? OMG!! Kent and Starling are taking alllllllll the names with this story!! I can't wait for He Hates Me Not! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula -
FIVE UNEXPECTED STARS for Georgina and Jasper!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This book was a total surprise for me!
When I started reading the book, I didn't know what kind of story I expected, but for sure, it wasn't near what had happened in this book.
"He Hates Me" is an extremely dark and mind-blowing book that will occupy your mind and for every page, you read, you'll need more and more answers.
Jasper is a male character you would not like to meet in real life.
He is a killer who kills people without a blink.
And he is also Georgina's stalker.
Georgina is a female character who at first seems like an ordinary woman who likes her privacy and her cats.
But, she has her own secrets and demons.
Jasper and Georgina's relationship isn't healthy, but in some twisted way it works.
I can't wait for the second book in this duet "He Hates Me Not" to find out what will happen the next!
If you like Rina and Isabella's books and you're also looking for something darker, then this is the book for you! -
This was a solid 3 ⭐️ review until the end. Now it’s 3.75 rounded up to 4. A good story with a nice twist. The author certainly weaves a good tale, if not a bit repetitive. Jasper is definitely a dark hero. (He ripped her clothes off her no fewer than 6 times!) Georgie, on the other hand, started to grate on my nerves with her constant indecision. Her mood changes gave me whiplash. I’m interested enough to read the second book.

5 Stars
I- I- I- I have no freaking words, it was absolutely amazing! I completely loved it! This book was so so good I could not put it down, I enjoyed it a lot!
I truly loved Jasper he was so disturbing and interesting and mysterious and amazing and awesome and even though he has a few screws lose I couldn’t care less because I just fell in love with his character.
Georgia was strong and I loved that she loved cats because I’m also a cat person so she was like bestie. Georgia or Petal had a darkness inside of her that only Jasper could understand and tame and she also had kinda disturbing and dark fantasies that only Jasper could fulfill and understand.
Georgia and Jasper as individuals were amazing but together they were freaking fireworks with passion and they understood each other’s darkness and them together was just ughhh I loved them!!!!!
The plot twist was so good! I kinda guess the first plot twist but the second I did not expect it. Right now I’m going to start reading the second book and I completely totally recommend this book! -
I like stalker romances. I like obsessed heroes/antiheroes. What I’m not wild about is when said hero spends more than half the book unsure whether he’s going to kill the heroine. Jasper struck me as perhaps a psycho/sociopath, and there wasn’t much to like about him except for maybe his protectiveness of the heroine.
The characters had good sexual chemistry—particularly in light of Georgina’s (Petal) own dark sexual fantasies. In that way, they were kind of perfect for each other. But I wasn’t quite feeling the connection between them outside of that.
While Jasper was protective, it wasn’t necessarily because he had affection toward Petal. If anyone was going to kill her, it was going to be him. He just didn’t want it to happen before he figured out why he was obsessed with her and got her out of his system.
He wasn’t the type of hero I normally like, but I was still invested enough to read the second book. Readers who like cold, alpha-hole heroes may enjoy this more than I did. -
I Absolutely HATE to give up on a book. For a long time I refuse to do it. I would hate the whole time I've spend reading it but I would NOT stop it in the middle. But nowadays? No way punk. Not gonna spend my time feeling bad about something that's supposed to make me feel good.
So, I've given up on this book precisely at 66%.
No, just NO.
I don't know If it's me or If It's really the whole lot of cliches and the childish, no-sense and possible CRAZY main chick.
You see, I need to relate with the heroine, that's imperative for me. The male character only serves the purpose of giving me the tingles. I already know he's crazy, I just need to see past his craziness ( I didn't, btw).
And I couldn't for the life of me understand Georgina's actions.
I'll show you why.
You're in a date your best friend arranged with a guy she met at a coffee shop. It's your first date after ending up going out with an asshole who slapped the shit out of you (that your said BFF strongly encouraged you to go, btw).
The guy you're with is weird and cold and you call him out on it and:“Are you going to answer my question now?” She stares at me, standing her ground.
“Since you don’t believe in fairy tales, then this should be easy.” I thread my fingers on the table, slightly leaning over. “I have absolutely no interest in your person. All I want is to fuck you raw in all possible holes.”
And what do you do? Well, any sane person would tell him to go fuck himself and leave, right? No.
Our little Georgina stand up to leave and demand him to drive her back home. *eye roll"
I would rather walk, bud.
That's my first strike. Just a HUGE turn off for their first meeting.
But things kept on getting worse. She tried to "defy him" but is just too "powerless to his touch" just for that wonderful date. And after he ignore her calls she decide to make him jealous.
Yep, she said it like that and I know, so mature.
So she goes out with her friend and coworkers and a guy she knew who had a crush on her.“I don't want to look too interested, especially with everything that's happening with Jasper. It doesn't feel right.”
BUT“I’m glad you came out, anyway. I feel like we never get the chance to chat.”
“We can chat now.” I don’t really want to, but I can be nice. “Tell me something people don’t know about you, Bill.”
So even though she likes the charmer Jasper (the guy she's been to ONE terrible date with and fucked once) she kept on leading the Bill guy on because she's nice.
But at some point in the night, being the good stalker that he is, Jasper appeared in the club she's at. I was expecting him to finally seduce her or some shit. Up until then he's been awfully rude and nothing more. But guess what? He makes a huge scene, punches the guy she's talking with and she goes home with him. Just like that. The guy she barely knew!
But there's no prob peeps, because "she's glad he came to find her".
My God woman, you're too stupid to live!
And after they fight in her apartment and he didn't felt like answering her questions she asked him to leave.“I know I'm being crazy, but I can't help it. All of Jas' cryptic answers, that weird guy Lucio, and then the scene at the club tonight – I can't just pretend it's nothing.”
But oh boy, did she pretend.
But the cherry on this cake of crap was when the Bill guy goes after her to talk about the club fight because a good person would be concerned about that disturbing scene and Georgina just... get pissy, at Bill.“I return a moment later, putting on the kettle and offering Bill some tea. He accepts, and I sigh inwardly. I don't really want him to stick around – I want Jas to come back.”
Just so you know, there's no one with a gun to her head making her offer him tea... and yeah, I know this one was a petty quote.“I’m worried, Georgie. What happened at the club was a mess.”
"What about it?" I ask stiffly, taking a sip of my tea.
"Er, your friend, he punched me? I’m worried about you.” I can still see the bruise on his cheek. He reaches for my hand, but I snatch it away.
"Look, I'm not here to interrogate you, Georgie. I just wanted to make sure you were okay. Is this guy being weird?"
"Not at all," I reply crisply. "In fact, you're the one who's out of line here, Bill.”
Is this girl for real?
Homeboy got punched for NO REASON, out of nowhere and he's the one in the wrong? She didn't even apologize.
And meanwhile, Jasper is still not sure if he will kill her or not when he's done "raping" her.
I'll give this author the props though for having the balls to write so freely. But for me she crossed that fine line between stalking-ish anti-hero to full on psychopath. And the heroine is plain stupid. She didn't question her involvement with Jasper not even for a minute. I can't see HOW love can form between those two.And the plot is sooo predictable. I have no patience to see if I'm right about my assuptions.
Maybe someday?
But as I've just noticed that this is probably my biggest review yet and it's DNF so... I think not. -
I’m going back and forth on rating this book 2-3 stars because I have zero idea of what I actually just fucking read. This is not your normal Rina Kent book, at all.
If you love some kinky, absolutely messed up sex and stalker romances then this the book for you.
If you have triggers, it’s probably best that you don’t read this. -

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
A young woman is being stalked by a man. You don’t need to know anything else.
This is my first Isabella Starling and Rina Kent read in unison; I’ve read Kent before but never Starling. Let me just say they dropped one of the best dark stalker romances I’ve read in years. The last dark stalker romance that I liked this much was Raw by Belle Aurora! I’m going out on a limb to claim that I like He Hates Me more than Raw! Twitch, don’t come at me, you deserve second place! This read was deliciously dark, irresistible, steamy and quick read! What a page turner galore! I was invested from page one until the very last… Tread carefully, we end on a cliffhanger here that will continue in He Hates Me Not which will come out April 23, 2020. I enjoyed every single page. The steamy scenes were kinky as hell. The chemistry between the two leads was immense and addictive. We have a cat lady in this story and it’s way too adorable. I hope we explore more of her backstory in book two. I’m glad that not everything was revealed in part one of the duet. That gives book two a lot of things to resolve. The leading man was… Hot. Fifty shades, who? You’ve got to experience him yourself to get exactly what I mean. The man is cute in his bad ways and he’s incredibly hilarious to read sometimes. The banter between the leading ‘couple’ was simply glorious.
The twist in the final quarter was everything and more. Just a couple of pages before it happened, I thought to myself ‘what if…’ and then I categorized my theory as impossible. Then, when it actually happened, I was like ‘YAS, THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT WAS NEEDED. GIVE ME BOOK 2 NOW.’
I recommend this read to lovers of stalker romances of the dark kind (PEOPLE WHO LOVED RAW BY BELLE AURORA WILL DEVOUR THIS!), electrifying and hilarious stalker men with questionable but juicy side hustles and not-so-average arachnophobic cat ladies.
Original comment: Praise the lords, this was a good read. Fifty shades who

DNF 64%
Couldn’t connect to Jasper and Georgina and didn’t feel any chemistry between them. This book wasn’t anything special and 64% into the book nothing really interesting happened. -
In the best Rina Kent's traditions, the main characters each has a past filled with secrets, that seem to have nothing to do with one another, but as the story progresses, you see how interconnected the main heroes are throughout their lives.
Cat bashing lost this book a star. Cats are superior animals, don't @ me 😹👑 -

OMFG 😲😳🤯🤯🤩🤩🤩
I really didn't expect all that and i loved it 🖤
The secrets, the obsession, the bad guy, the good kinky girl, the mafia ... all perfectly orchestrated 😍 -

This was my first read by Rina Kent and Isabella Starling and lemme tell you, it definitely won’t be my last.

This book is the first book in the ‘Hate & Love’ duet. It tells the story of Jasper and Georgina.
Jasper is the assassin of a well-known mafia family the Costa Family. He gets the job done, no matter what he’s asked to do. He kills, he tortures, he slaughters. He does everything.
𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒓𝒖𝒈𝒔, 𝑰’𝒎 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆’𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒗𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒔.
It started when Lucio Costa saved his life when he was just a kid, now Jasper feels indebted, and as a way of being appreciative he does all the dirty work that needs to be done.
𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆’𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆’𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒔, 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎, 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒃𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒔.
Georgina works as a nurse in a hospital, she mains a really boring life. She has two cats that she spoils to no end. Her friends are her two workmates Dinah and Katya, other than that she has nothing else going on her life. Someway somehow, Jasper sees her and he is instantly obsessed by her.
𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒃𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍.
I loved how it all went down; it was like watching a lion preparing to attack his prey.
𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒅. 𝑾𝒆’𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆. 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒖𝒔, 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒐𝒍𝒅-𝒇𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒐𝒔.
I was so intrigued by Jasper he was scary in a way but also fascinating. And oh Georgina, what a delightful surprise she was. She looked like an innocent and pure woman, but was she that innocent?? Well, you have to read the book to know the truth.

And that plot twist!! WOW just WOW. Thank god the second book won’t take that long because I can’t wait to find out what’s gonna happen next. -
4 ‘Petal’ 🌟
The decimation of the human mind, screwing it up, fucking it over, is what I live for.
He Hates Me is fucked up and Jasper, our male MC, is fucked up as well as evidenced by the quote above. He is ruthless, oh so cold, and darker than midnight sky. He sees Georgina, our female MC and an ER nurse, in the parking lot of the hospital during one of his errands and becomes obsessed with her and starts stalking her. It honestly disturbs me about how strategic he was to enter her life to make it seem random, but it was also quite entertaining.
The moment you’re consumed and find yourself doing things in a compulsive, sporadic way, that’s when it becomes an obsession —raw and ugly in its truest form.
Georgina is lonely, hollow, and looking for a person who she can connect with. …I want to have someone who supports me, who pushes me forward just like I've always pushed myself. While reading about her back story and how she lives, my heart broke for her and how lonely she was. She desperately wants someone in her life who she can connect with on an intimate level and share her deepest fantasies with and that’s where Jasper comes in. 😉
Their physical chemistry was 🔥🔥, but the emotional connection initially felt lacking. I was expecting Jasper to show some humanity and become a tad bit softer towards Georgina when they become connected, but that didn’t happen until towards the end of the book. Also, the major twists revealed towards the end of the book totally caught me off guard because I was so not expecting them! I’m looking forward to jumping into the second book and seeing how this story plays out and ends.
I’m caught hook, line, and sinker. All I think about is to pull her into me and devour that smile, feast on it, cage it and keep it for safekeeping.
Overall, this book was an awesomely gripping and dark start to the relationship between Jasper and Georgina! I desperately hope that the next book will be as good or even better than this because I NEED a HEA for these two! -
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
What in the world I read??? Jasper it's not a character I have read before. He is cruel, raw, coldhearted, dangerous, mysterious, a killer. A psychopath with no emotions or regrets. He met Georgina, a nurse and a cat lover. She doesn't have many friends and no family. Loneliness settled and the need to have someone in his life other than her cats opened the doors for Jasper to enter as he pleased. Georgina became his obsession and he started to stalk her. He wanted to broke her and dragged her into his darkness. Georgina knew that but the chemistry between them is addictive.
I started to read this book with high expectations. I wanted to like it. Unfortunately at some point something went off. Halfway through the reading I felt like I was losing interest.
However I wanted to know how it ended. And I don't regret it. I didn't see coming the twist and that brought back my interest.
He Hates Me is DARK, depraved, kinky, intrigued. Ended with a cliffhanger. And I'm so curious to know more about this crazy couple. -
He Hates me was an intense read, filled with wonderful characters and delicious sub plots.
I was actually swooning over Jasper, such a hot Alpha male. His self assured attitude and confidence was dreamy.
Petal, oh my, sometimes I was impressed with her strength and other times I wanted her to stop being so weak!
This story had a plot that twisted and turned, at times I was wondering "where did that come from?" It was so well written with unique storylines.
