Terrorist groups such as Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah have flourished in recent years with new recruits joining them and ISIS-affiliates at an alarming rate. Blended operations by various Asian countries have forced the groups to work together to identify a new operational base.

They seek an island nation to call home, one where they can plot against countries who oppose their ideals. They found a target, a small nation-state, perfect for their needs: The Republic of Singapore.

Before anyone can respond, the ambassadors of the United States, Great Britain, and Australia are kidnapped from their residences in Singapore. Right index fingers of each victim are sent as a warning. Any attempt to recover the ambassadors will result in the removal of additional body parts.

Bedlam Charlie team leader, Evelyn Evinrude, leads the group to rescue the ambassadors and capture the local leaders of Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah. Can Bedlam succeed or will events escalate, resulting in more deaths?

    4.5/5

***I received an advance copy of this novel in return for my honest opinion***

Four and a half stars for this thrilling installation of the Bedlam series!

This is the third book in Krzak's series, and much like the other two, this one didn't disappoint! In fact, this one is my favorite so far.

After an English woman goes missing and somehow escapes, a series of events unfolds that hints that several terrorist groups may be on the move with their sights set on Singapore.

The newly-formed Bedlam Charlie team, operated by Evelyn Evinrude must assemble quickly to deal with the mounting threat and terrible attacks against the general populace. Is their team ready for this challenge, or are they in over their heads?

Once again, Krzak has created an intricate braidwork of suspense, danger, and double crosses in this international thriller, and I truly enjoyed my experience reading this novel.

I was pulled into this book from the very beginning. I mean, that beginning scene was nuts! Natalee's story and perspective was my favorite, and she had a key role in this novel. There was something about it that resonated with me. She had been through severe trauma, she was brave, but most of all, she was resilient.

I really liked the new Bedlam Charlie team. They each had a distinct role, and their characters were well thought out. This team seemed a little bit more about the action and getting things done, and that spoke to me better this time around.

This book wasn't called Carnage in Singapore for nothing. There really is quite a bit of carnage going around, and being a big fan of suspense and thrills, I absolutely loved this element.

I also thought that the novel ended on a really good note. Is there another Bedlam novel on the way? I have no idea, but I hope so!

All right, so if I had to pick at something (to be fair), it would probably be the same thing I've brought up on the other Bedlam novels (I know, I know, broken record Jonny!).

There are quite a bit of characters in this book, though I will say that by this time if you've read the other books, we actually know most of the characters by now. My main one to poke at are the characters Koh and Goh. Their names are super similar and they interact with each other from time to time, so that got really confusing for me, but I think they only really interacted in a chapter or two, so the confusion was minimal.

That being said, the small flaws that I found don't even come close to all the excitement I found while reading this book.

Ultimately, Carnage in Singapore is an action-packed international thriller with suspense, deception, and adventure in abundance. Definitely worth a read!

This is the third book of the Bedlam Team series, but it can be read as a stand-alone novel.
If you love well-layered thrillers with engaging characters and a few twists, this book is for you!
I particularly loved Nathalie’s story, and it was great to see some of the characters of the previous books too.

This is the second novel by Author Randall Krzak I have had the good fortune of reading. This story feels like it is pulled from recent headlines with locations and name changed to protect people and countries.

The first chapter starts off gripping the reader with the vivid journey of escape. A woman, later identified as Natalee Grace Wainwright, missing seven weeks after a vacation to Bali. Injured and hospitalized, Natalee was savagely beaten before she was found barely alive. Her memories are fractured with flashbacks of others held captive with her. Yet, I cheered her brave resiliency to help make a difference from page 1 to the very end.

Singapore security people intercept a few bomber teams before they completed their assignment. When no headway is made with interrogating the suspects before they are tortured to death, the nation asks for support from outside. Bedlam Charlie, a group of skilled operatives led by Evelyn Evinrude, responds to the cry for help. The multi-national effort against the terrorists keeps the tension until the very end.

"Evelyn shook her head. "The world's a more dangerous place than ever. As soon as we neutralize one threat, another takes over. Any idea who's behind this?"
"The usual suspects, but perhaps a new group is behind the killing." Harrison offered a tired smile. "This is one of the reasons for the creation of the Bedlam team—to tackle these situations as soon as possible, so they don't become catastrophes or cause a direct threat to Australia." He unwrapped the package from Evelyn.
"Enough serious chat for now. Let's find out what Sir Alex sent." He lifted two brown bottles into the air. "Oh my! Twenty-five-year-old Talisker single malt from the Isle of Skye. My favorite."

Author Krzak has an uncanny ability to convey the characters from the inside out. The operatives are hunting international terrorists who have captured ambassadors from various countries to assure their demands are met. The military strategies needed to defeat and annihilate these heartless terrorists take the operatives on a suspenseful, action-packed chase. There is no easy way to promise the outcome.

Carnage in Singapore, the third volume in the Bedlam Series, reflects the extremes that are used by the terrorists for their cause. It is well-researched, detailed, and unrelenting suspense from start to finish. I highly recommend this story and this author for keeping a reader turning the pages non-stop. I also need to go back and get the first in the series, The Kurdish Connection.

International terrorists descend on Singapore. Their security teams intercept few bombers, but they don't have the resources to fight this new enemy. When the terrorists kidnap the English, United States, and Australian Ambassadors, Singapore asks for help. Bedlam Charlie, a group of highly trained operatives, takes the case. They understand the twisted minds of terrorists and the deadly games they play with people's lives. A cat-and-mouse chase ensues. Are there winners or only losers? This is a roller coaster ride to hell and back.

This is my second read of this series and I really enjoyed this story; maybe better than my first read! Could be cause I was familiar with some of the characters or just cause it's a great book! Anyway...read it, I don't believe you will be disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Carnage in Singapore" by Randall Krzak. The book description piqued my interest enough to purchase this book, but then the author's opening chapter had me hooked and fully engaged.

Asian terrorist groups have banned together for the purpose of seeking a central base of operations to grow their supporters and to create mayhem and death among those who are unbelievers. Singapore offers everything the groups require; targets throughout the nation are soon identified and, in most cases, destroyed - leaving carnage in its wake.

The security divisions in Singapore intercepted a few bombers before they were able to detonate their packages. Their methods of interrogation - beatings, and torture - end up killing the suspects before they can yield any information about those in charge. As a result, the nation asks for help, and the group, Bedlam Charlie, responds to help stop the carnage. Led by Evelyn Evinrude, this group of highly skilled operatives joins in the fight.

What I found intriguing about the story is that the author was able to get into the minds of the terrorist leaders and show readers how they operate; using followers as pawns, and remotely setting off charges if the bomber refuses to complete the mission. Nobody is trusted within their ranks and everybody wants to be the boss.

It is also learned that many of their plans would not have succeeded without bribed government officials to help. Many times, it appeared that the terrorists were a step ahead of everybody else; the moles are only interested in riches. Once locations are determined, Evelyn's group mounts a rescue operation to save a handful of prisoners, which include, three kidnapped ambassadors from friendly nations whose embassies are in Singapore. Evelyn leads the fight...one that doesn't end until all the terrorists are dead. Who wins?

The ending chapter is also one that will leave readers with mouths agape. Don't miss this one. Highly recommended.

Carnage doesn’t even begin to describe it. (4.5 Stars)

Carnage in Singapore is the third book in Krzak’s Bedlam series, however like the other two novels this works well as a standalone story. What Krzak does well is developing a story that grabs you right from the start. I’m not a big military fan or mystery fan, but I’ve enjoyed both of Krzak’s other novels and wanted to continue on. This time the story takes place in Singapore and I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying that carnage is an understatement of events. The story felt very real to me and it was as if you were reading a historical account of what happened before, during, and after a series of terrorist attacks in Singapore. I loved getting to meet new characters and having some old favorites pop in even if just briefly.

There were slower parts of the book, but that is not the authors fault, it is the nature of the story itself, it’s easy to say he could have cut or edited them, but if he did that needed and necessary information would have been taken out which would have lessened the story. I akin it to some of Kim Stanley Robinson’s writing there are parts that are dry, but you need them in order to make the exciting parts that much more exciting.

If you are looking for a good military mystery by a writer that is making quite the name for himself then this novel is for you.

When you read "Carnage in Singapore," one thing becomes crystal clear: the author knows what he's talking about. Too often novels about terrorism or far-flung places such as Singapore come off as simplistic. But Randall has a way of weaving a drama into something that feels real - like reading a riveting story in the paper, but instead you get chapters. The way Randall details the operations of the Bedlam team almost makes you wonder if he's seen something like it up close - and that's what makes it an award-winning novel. Two others things make it worthwhile: most books you can guess where it's going about halfway through; but Carnage in Singapore throws readers a huge twist. Second thing, great names for characters!

I really look forward to what Randall has in store next. Highly recommend.
