Glacias, a sanctuary, representing coexistence...

Still the dream of one young man who hopes to render change.

Juka is an orphan. Raised by a dragon and sheltered from human society, he's committed to creating a city where both species can live at peace. Together with his dragon, Lyth, he sets out on an incredible adventure...very soon to understand the danger involved in trying to open minds that long have been shut.

Furthermore, he'll face much bigger problems than simple prejudice.

While attempting to teach others that peace is possible, Juka must also evade the Dragon Hunters, whose vow to protect mankind is a pretext for their true motive: obtaining elemental weapons and, with them, power-absolute--enough to seed an age of darkness, dousing the dragon's flame.

Can cyclic war be broken by a boy who dares to wish for more? His life, his friend and world depend on ultimate success.

Glacias (1) Reviews

  • Long Live Wonderland

A beautiful story with a hopelessly optimistic protagonist trying to create a world where humans and dragons can live peacefully.

  • Achim

Yuka's raised by Glacias, the ice dragon sage, who accidentally killed his parents but nevertheless became a father figure and mentor for the young boy. After Glacias's tragic death Yuka is determined to make their dream to build a city where dragons and humans live together come true.

The story has strong How-to-Train-Your-Dragon vibes without vikings and comedy characters and it allows at least the dragon sages to be much more than powerful pets. The art is beautiful and one of the qualities that kept me reading until the end. The story arc itself is quite straight forward which probably is caused my Yuka's naive determination which overcomes every obstacle quickly. That doesn't mean there aren't challenging situations like court intrigues, fighting arenas and dragon torture, abusive parents and a traumatized dragon sage. So it was far from all roses but for my taste the conflicts, while challenging, were solved too quickly and the naive optimism came through too heavy. However, the dragon interaction, the found family, the world building and the art made it easy to mostly ignore that shortcoming

That was pretty good, I could not stop reading this wonderful story. The dragons' metaphore about people believing whatever they hear and not trying to look for the truth by themselves made me think about our actual society.
I really fell in love with Juka and his quest for correcting these false assumptions about dragons. I hope that I will be able to read more about his next adventures with his friends. Also, I want to say that this book reminded of Avatar.

This was such a creative and enjoyable webtoon! And the art is beautiful! I loved it so much and I highly recommend it, if you're a fantasy fan (it's about dragons!!!) and read webtoons. :)

Glacias, written by Yaruno NAWA is an amazing fantasy story about a man named Juka and his friend Glacias who dream of a world where dragons and humans live together in peace. Along the way they meet both new dragon friends and new human friends who have the same dream as them. The book is written in multiple points of views. The story is told in different points of views depending on who's story is being shared. Some of the characters are Juka, Glacias, Iru, and more. Some things I like about the book is when Juka visits Glacias and he gives Juka some advise. Glacias is vary wise in my opinion. I was sad when we say less and less of Glacias though. An impression the book has left on me is to not judge something just by what other people say. Everyone used to say dragons were dangerous and shouldn't be trusted and people believed it, whether they've met a dragon or not. I can connect with Juka because if the opportunity to live with dragons was available to me, I would definitely take it. I also connect to Iru because I would love to travel and meet new people and different types of dragons. I have a feeling this story will stick with me for a long time.

The story of a boy who was raised by dragons in a world where dragons are both hunted and feared, he works to build a world where humans and dragons can live in harmony with each other. It is a beautiful and emotional tale that leaves you wishing it never ended.

This one has made it's way into one of my top favorite webtoons this year. The art is vibrant and lovely and the plot is well paced and exciting. It reminds me a bit of Fairy Tail :)

Yes dragon adopts baby human. Does have heartbreaking scenes too but over all loved it wish more out. Art at points was meh but dialogue made up for it.

  • Yub Yub Commander

I own the physical copy of volume one and have read up through chapter 61 of the webcomic, and I cannot recommend this enough for webcomic and comic fans. It's fast paced with an interesting premise. The characters are solid, though they obviously need continued development (this is an ongoing series so things will change). There's a lot of questioning of what is right and wrong which is always fun, though I think the reader tends to be on a specific side of that argument. The art is gorgeous and luscious, action scenes are super intense, and there are lots of cute moments between characters that warm the heart.
