  I'm pretty this is my favorite series written by Robin Merrill. Revival continues the story first started in Shelter. We find Maggie and family struggling to figure out what they are doing - is it worth it. It starts when her husband, Galen, finds a former shelter resident holding two people hostage with a gun. He's just killed a cop while high on drugs. Galen's health is threatened in the midst of it and he now has to figure out how and if he wants to continue in ministry. Maggie wants to walk away and let the shelter be someone else's issue. She just wants her family back. And sweet Daniel is now a teenager living in the city trying to help his friend, Ember, survive life. We see the power of prayer and listening to the Holy Spirit shine through. We learn that living life leaning on our own understanding is never, ever enough. We need God to lead the way. I really enjoyed the book. If you haven't read this series, grab it! It's worth it!

  This was by far my favorite of the series!! It picks up 8 years after the 2nd book left off and a lot has changed since the end of book 2. I think the reason I loved this book so much was how I could relate to the relationship shifts of Maggie and Galen. Also, the fact that even after seeing the amazing presence of God and watching the miracles He can perform, our faith can waiver and we can allow ourselves to fall away from Him. The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 star is because I wish there was kore explored with Daniel coming back into contact with Maggie and Galen. I wish that his personal struggle with faith and the things that he had to deal with after his mother took him out of the church were explained. I wished that his Mom coming back to the church was also talked about more. With these books being less than 200 pages each, that really does make it hard to get a lot of details in...but Robin did such a great job developing characters that I definitely would have read a longer book to explore those story lines further.

  Set 5 years after the other Shelter series books we get to meet Pastor Galen, Maggie, Daniel and some of the other regulars at open door church as well as some new characters. Things aren’t hunky-dory over there and a “revival” is needed, but how? Galen needs to put his trust in God to resurrect his church or it will die. Meanwhile Daniel has moved to Portland and is facing problems of his own as he tries to help his troubled friend Ember.
  
  As usual Robin delivers a story with characters you grow to love and a compelling uplifting story.

  Wow, now this book was an eye-opening - heart changing one. I enjoyed all three of the books in the series, and this last one was really a wonderful way to end it; however, I do wish that the books could have continued. I enjoy books much more that movies, but I would love to see this series made into a movie or mini-series. I truly believe it would touch a lot of people, and it may even spark a new beginning for many as well. I plan on reading more from this author, so will have to check out her other books soon.

  This is book 3 of the Shelter series and I have to say that this final book really, really touched my spirit and my heart. This was such a spiritual moving book and I truly wish that there was just one more book to tie up just a few loose ends and to sort of 'pass the torch' to the next generation of Open Door Church. I really enjoyed this series and I will be looking for other books by Robin Merrill.

  Amazing ending! I cried and laughed and began wondering how God can work through me to help others. Still wish there was a fourth book to this series!
